Darksend+ sure sounds interesting. Will that be part of rc4?

Yes. Read the full announcement, it is really interesting:

Everytime I wake up and check my masternodes, the list of payments from my MNs grows longer, but almost no paying   Angry
Frustrating, but it's such a life  Grin. Anyone has the date for enforcement turn on ?

Thanks.

No date yet. RC4 is scheduled for late July. It will contain a new enforcement mechanism and after that it will be turned on when it is considered secure.

Please consider that payments do not happen in a regular way. Randomness is a bitch and does what it pleases Smiley

Has anybody also had a problem with vultr server. Mine was shut down again and i don't know why.
Server was running but darkoind was shut down. It looks like server gets started new but darcoind
is not into startup routine.

I have not had any trouble with them. I set up alerts as El Presidenté suggested, and they have only showed down once (been up since payments started). I went and looked right away when the alerts showed down, but they were all up, so even that must have been a glitch.

I also had that. I believe it was because the alerts check if your masternode is seen by all Presidente's masternodes (keyword = MNaddress:6). If he stops any of them for whatever reason, the page where the robot checks shows MNaddress:5 (or less) and you get an alert. No big deal if he doesn't play with them a lot Smiley

I would like to thank Evan personally for granting me the opportunity to retire at young age through his amazing work.

This is the email I sent to announce my retirement:
Hi guys,
Just a quick FYI: I'm leaving the company in 3 months (30 September final working day).

Reason is basically that I got very lucky with an investment I made in February this year which has taken away financial pressure and has given me the opportunity to try to follow my dreams.

I have mixed feelings as I love my job and I love working for this company, but it feels like it is something I have to do.

Until I leave, I will continue to give my best.

Thank you,
XXXXXX XXXXXXX

PS I'm still holding my coins and will continue to do so until DRK has overtaken Litecoin.

Oh my gosh, is that safe?  What if DRK falls apart?  What if there is a terrible crash in the crypto market?  Yikes!  You scare me!  Take care!

Risk/safety depends on personal circumstances. I sent a similar email a few years ago... only without the money from a good investment Smiley I was single and young, so the downside was small no matter what happened. Things look different when you have a family, but even in that case risk can be managed.

Anyway, kudos to coinzcoinzcoinz!!! I wish I was around before, maybe I could be posting here the order for my first yatch Smiley

Can I ask why you're not tolerate?

Because you're acting like a troll. If your not a troll, stop talking about other coins here.

I talk DRK in other places.
I've never encounter such a rebuffed.

The others can solve this task "anonimity" before DRK devs tests finishing.
I'm just trying to draw attention to it.

Almost all of my investment DRK.
You how you can tell me troll?

Anonimity is already solved in darkcoin. Darksend is functional for amounts under 10 drk since long ago. Current trouble are being solved and I would say it is more related with final implementation than with the concept.

This is DARKCOIN thread..

If you feel like talking about some other SHITCOINS that DRK holders dont even care about, please do it somewhere else ffs..

What is this Shitcoin everyone keeps talking about? I cant find the ANN... What algo does it use? Any pools? Is it on exchanges? Cant find it...

I believe the ANN is in the Trash subforum. It uses Crap13 algo with OIA (Odor Intesity Adjustement). It is designed to be the first completely REASON resistant coin.
367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should banks offer Bitcoin custody and payment services? on: June 25, 2014, 11:00:16 AM

I don't care how much regulation you throw at them. If you let them bitcoins in custody we'll have one billion bitcoins in circulation before a year. They simply can't be trusted.

Thats not possible; Banks can't just create more bitcoins, just like a bank can not produce more gold or simply issue more stocks of a certain company. (that is the beauty of the Bitcoin)

actually, if banks did hold bitcoins as a financial product they offer. it wouldnt be to much of a stretch for them to try off-chain transactions.
by giving people a SQL bank database balance of bitcoins and let people trade the database (leading to fractional reserving) where there are only 21million real bitcoins, but the banks showing 1billion bitcoins on their SQL database..

... just like the current FIAT debt crisis
... just like karpals let people trade his SQL database while hiding the real coins.

Exactly. Banks "create" fiat every day. They would try to do the same with Bitcoin because that's what they do. That's how they profit. That's why I would not trust them with my btc. And, as you've said, the changes they would need to do to sell btc or beans make this scenario unlikely anyway.
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: June 25, 2014, 10:53:24 AM
im still holding 200 DRK was holding 400 but sold half and bought VRC just saying not seeking nothing

First of all, Vericoin is NOT a game changer. It's a pump and dump member of the "also rans" anon bandwagon that's trying to recreate DRK's run up when Darksend came out of beta.

Other members of the "also rans" club include Monero, Neutrino, XC CLOAK and CRYPT.

When are people going to wake up and realise that technology doesn't shift markets ? Bitcoin has been superceeded technologically 200 times over and none of the candidates ever made a dent in its valuation. All of these coins have had their "pump" and are now either at or near their peak valuation. There's always another one on the horizon with some anon-gimmick that's good for milking.

The big difference is that DRK was created for addressing a business problem and that remains its long term mission. The rest were either created in desperation or simply didn't have all the pieces of the jigsaw in place at the right time.

The thing about technological diversity is that it's about the least competitive property a coin can have since the future is open ended and the market knows that all coins evolve. DRK will evolve and is evolving - it has lots of options open to it and time to implement them given that it's established itself beyond the "Pump & Dump" phase of most coin's lifetime.

A few weeks back, Monero was supposed to be the big DRK "challenger". Now it's been dumped to half its peak value. The rest are heading the same way and there'll only be more where they came from. I've been in and out of most of these coins and know what it feels like to be a "Monero"er, a XC'er, a "CLOAK",er etc etc.

IMO most of them are not serious projects. They've been created out of desperation to grab some of the "anon" targeted bitcoin that's flying around. If any, I probably respect Monero the most since at least it's been going a while and has a fairly consistent and genuinely alternative approach. It probably doesn't merit the latest megadump but there you go - markets are fickle. VRC, CLOAK and the rest will only be raped of value in exactly the same way.

It seems like every week we get a new contender... only it is not really a contender. You need more than a nice post in bitcointalk to be taken seriously.

I understand spanish and "cloak" isn't pronounced like "cloaca". Most spanish people speak english very badly Cheesy

Anyway, my point was that your theory is stupid, without any logical necessity Cheesy

Try to sell Cloak coin to a native Spanish speaker.  Good luck trying to do that.

(at least the second and third richest billionaires in the world according with Forbes 2014 will laugh instantaneously in front of you) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World%27s_Billionaires_2014

Thats like when Mitsubishi found out why their model "Pajero" sold very bad in Hispanic countries.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH !!! Seriously ? they tried?? LOOOL ...

Just like Colgate toothpaste is not sold either Wink (but in a much more serious double-entendre)

I'm not sure they really launched with the Pajero name. If they did, they changed fast to Montero.

Colgate is indeed sold in Spain, but I understand it can be a problem in Argentina.

/back to darkcoin

I see there has been some discussion about how Darkcoin sounds in Spanish. I don't care enough as to go back in the thread to search for the full discussion, but my native tongue is Spanish, so I'm more qualified about this than 98% of people giving opinions... Darkcoin means nothing in Spanish, not even near!! Anyone saying otherwise is completely clueless. Pajero means wanker, both cases have nothing to do with each other.
371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should banks offer Bitcoin custody and payment services? on: June 25, 2014, 10:25:33 AM
read all of the bank announcements. they only deal with fiat directly. not bitcoins, not baked beans not gold.

if you want bitcoins go to an exchange/localbitcoins
if you want baked beans go to a grocery store
if you want gold go to a pawn shop.

if banks included bitcoins as on of their 'financial products' then regulation will own bitcoins

thanks for the reply. Understand that most banks are staying away from BTC. But what if a Bank would offer such services, that is my question.

Edit: and I do mean a respectable, traditional Bank.

I don't care how much regulation you throw at them. If you let them bitcoins in custody we'll have one billion bitcoins in circulation before a year. They simply can't be trusted.
372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has the bitcoin already lost its cherry? on: June 25, 2014, 10:17:49 AM
We don't see them because filters catch them, but there are probably more spammy/scam emails than legit ones. Technology and education have reduced the problem exponentially. Someone will fall even to the most obvious Nigerian letter, but it isn't a threat for email. Same thing should happen with Bitcoin.
373  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Pruning on: June 25, 2014, 10:13:28 AM

Well, that's a lot of data anyway. Not everybody needs the full blockchain, but it would be nice if something gets achieved about pruning it.

at the moment the blockchain can fit onto a 32gb SD card which costs only a few dollars/pounds so its not like people need to buy multiple servers, costing thousands..

secondly even as far back as the genesis block, there are still unspent coins. so trying to prune away blocks that have 100% spent values which also lead to new blocks that have 100% spent values to ensure the blockchain doesnt break due to having no previous block to reference, is at the moment a big task.

after all new blocks have references of old blocks, so there would need some sort of buffer of a block or two from an unspent block before getting to the pruned(spent) block.. thus out of all blocks made, there are very few that are prunable..

which brings me back to the first point. data is only a sub $20 data store. so the importance to prune is still not a big deal, and the solution wont show much of a change in data size (EG current 20gb would maybe get 1GB pruned off, max)

Thanks for the info! If the pruning would only reduce size in 5%, then it is definitely not worth the trouble. I know that storage is dirt cheap now, it's just that it doesn't feel efficient to have that small cost in so many places  Smiley

do you like money? sell DRK buy VRC then sell VRC buy DRK...

Very good idea buying a P&D coin on ATH. You like throwing BTC out of a wide open window ?
not dangerous at all if you research Vericoin.

Market movements in small markets (even Darkcoin is a small market) can be caused by many factors that are completely out of your control. Thus, day trading altcoins in general is dangerous. I won't judge Vericoin because I haven't studied it. I won't say that there is no way to make money day trading because some people are doing great. But it is dangerous.

Russian roulette is a dangerous game. Even Especially if you win the first five times with a six bullet revolver.
375  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Pruning on: June 25, 2014, 09:22:44 AM
Has any progress been made with respect to pruning? The exp. regression trendline puts the blockchain size at ca. 150 GB this time next year, with the 130MB blkXXXXX.dat files being filled out once every minute and a half ( http://21e14.com/Blockchain/Blockchain.aspx )...

blocks have a 1MB limit each.. at the moment each block is only 20% utilised. meaning 0.2mb
6 blocks an hour over 24 hours, over 365 days

utility growth estimate = 10gb a year
full limit utilised estimate = 52gb a year

i see in no way that next year the block chain would be anywhere near 150GB larger.. the maths just doesnt work that way.

the only reason your seeing new 130mb files appearing on your system every few minutes, is because your system is updating historic data.. not live current data.. (your wallet is not synced yet)

at the very most live data is only 144mb a day
(1mb block limit x 144 blocks a day)

Well, that's a lot of data anyway. Not everybody needs the full blockchain, but it would be nice if something gets achieved about pruning it.
376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forbes Article Predicts Bitcoin Value will "Explode" on: June 25, 2014, 09:19:10 AM
The problem with exploding prices is that volatility inhibits usage as people are scared to go in or spend. But increased usage would make the price explode. Not sure how this can be tackled.

Dangerous game. It can go great, but you can get trapped easily.
