The coinbase in block zero is not spendable. If you allow it, potentially one day Satoshi could split the network.
Yes I know that.
I'm interested in knowing the details on why this is the case: someone is kind enough to enlighten me?
367  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2012-10-21 Warren Mosler about Bitcoin on: November 06, 2012, 07:53:59 AM
I'd REALLY like to see someone bounce silkroad off of Mosler as a source of final demand. That would likely change his mind (and we would have a new ally).
No, it will not: Mosler wants to be able to print infinite amount of money on demand.

369  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2012-10-21 Warren Mosler about Bitcoin on: October 26, 2012, 06:30:18 PM
Hello Giancarlo,
Mosler wants a kind of money to be printable as much as he wish, so he will always dismiss and despise Bitcoin as it's his worst nightmare.

Bitcoin is a technology born with the express intent to crush movements like MMT, which aims to bring the economy to Zimbabwe style :-)

(Mugabe is applying MMT theory... you judge his success)
370  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: October 25, 2012, 07:20:34 AM
The News doesn't matter.
Do you mean that if we (i.e.: "the world") discovers that there is no gold in the federal reserve bank that will have no consequence on the market?

MIA: 3,400 tons of German Gold
A related article:

A German federal court has said that country’s central bank should conduct annual audits and physically inspect its gold reserves worldwide, including gold in the custody of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. In addition to the FRBNY, Bundesbank gold is stored in London, Paris and Frankfurt.

For decades, the Bundesbank has relied on written confirmation of its gold holdings in London, Paris and New York. According to the report from the German audit court, the last time Bundesbank officials physically inspected the central banks gold holdings was, well, never.
(It should be stated that the folks at FT Alphaville quote a report saying an inspection took place in 1979/1980.)
Interestingly enough, the Bundesbank is apparently quite happy with taking the word of other central bankers about the existence, location and size of its gold reserves. It put out the word that it disagrees with the Audit Court, which only has advisory power and cannot force the Bundesbank to follow its recommendations, about the need for inspections. Nonetheless, the Bundesbank is actually going to follow the recommendation that it verify the gold stocks. It also has plans to ship some 150 tons of gold back to Germany for a more “thorough examination.”

The ignorance and stupidity of that guy is abysmal.

Or maybe he's just doing his job.

Please don't.
I know who they are, and how they operate.
If you want additional downtime go with them.
Can you please elaborate? I would like more details since I'm relying on them more and more.

I had no issues until now, but it's only a few months.

Thanks for any info

NEVER EVER go with bluehost or dreamhost.
I agree Smiley

I'm a bit late too but I suggest the use of gigahost:
https://www.giga-international.com/?show=vserver

with 40€/month you get 4 cores, 12GB (!!) of ram, 600G of disk, and great support too!

I've been unable to find a better deal yet.
375  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: October 10, 2012, 07:19:24 AM
Ultimately I would like to see a situation where each 'self sufficient community', and other bodies who have something of potential value, issue their own crypto-currency.  If the organization is managed well (including how it's currency solution is implemented and maintained) then it's monetary system prospers and the members who make up the organization benefit.
The problem of such a proposal is that if the community is (even not so) small their cryptocurrency is prone to 51% attack.

But they can get a bunch of bitcoins and use them to overcome that risk, there are really not many drawbacks.
376  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Pyramining, is it really worth it? on: October 10, 2012, 07:12:45 AM
I have personally visited pyramining infrastructure. I understand that my word is worth nothing, but
I want to add my opinion on it: pyramining is worth it, and it's serious business.
I've been there too, it's an awesome infrastructure and the guy running it is very serious.
He also has some amazing plans for the evolution of the farm in the future.

I consider a transcript very valuable:

- To search for keywords in text form (google etc.);
- To some people, reading is faster than listening.
+1

Also, some people does not understand spoken english as well as written one.

Thanks *very* much for the transcript.

May I have the link to the thread on the mises forum?

Thanks!
