I'm not sure if ganging up on TF's debtors is the best course of action right now, especially if they've also lost funds in Inputs. I see it as if he's just trying to shift some of the blame. Requesting information and politely ask for them to repay their loans, yes. But boycotts and threats of legal action should be the last recourse, especially given how Bitcoin is currently seen by the law.

I fear nobody will get to see their money at all if TF is brought to a class-action lawsuit (How the hell would it be settled?) and any remaining funds are seized, and even if it's purely out of spite, they'll be just in to increase their losses.

Whereas I agree about the legal actions, if he is brought under lawsuit we can  basically kiss our losses goodbye, I must respectfully disagree about the debtors.

From the sounds of it, they are going out of their way to not address TF's emails/PM's.  I think we can all basically agree that everyone that he mentioned earlier is on this board everyday and for them to claim that it has been this long and they, "just haven't noticed what happened" would be an outright lie.  They are purposefully ignoring his requests and if we as a community can put some pressure on them to get in contact and work out some form of repayment schedule, then I think that is a good course of action, as we have the power to hurt their lively hood by taking business away which they do not want, otherwise their does not seem to be much recourse for not honoring their debts.

Perhaps we can get an extensive list of who is not communicative so that negative feedback can be left and websites can be boycotted until loans are addressed?

I think it's pretty much leaked in the scammer thread.  Close anyway

Oh, I just had a read - Very interesting.

Good luck to everyone involved, I'll write my BTC off now and assume I'm never seeing it again.

Yea, I am on the fence with 3000. so I countered with 3500 as I would feel more comfortable at that amount letting them go.  Will see what happens I suppose.

I was just offered 3K cash USD for my 2 butterfly labs singles through Craigslist, I am having trouble deciding whether to take this or not.  What is the communities thoughts on this deal?

I'm gonna play a ton of overs with pretty much every aggressive team tonight I think. Thanks to the freethrows scores have been ridiculous.

agree I hate the new rules in NCAABB!

Well you ain't a WVU fan with Bob Huggins as the coach, I will be watching 5 hour games with 70+ free throws.

lol

This new rule has completely ruined capping college basketball. All that matters now is who makes more of their free-throws.
Yep! and KU is a terrible free throw shooting team, combine that with the fact the Duke has the experience over them and I can see Duke beating them by around 10 to 15 points by the end of the game.

Which means that I have put quite a large sum against KU tonight.
3609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: **Don't miss out on EASY BTC! [YTD: +9.73BTC]** on: November 11, 2013, 05:33:50 PM
Is it just me or can no one else find the KU Duke line for tonight on bitbook?  Elsewhere it is showing a 4 point spread in KU's favor, which given the experience behind Duke and the youngness of KU, I want to bet against them, but IDK why the line isnt on bitbook?

kansas and duke play tuesday!

ahh crap, getting ahead of myself.  Some rivalry in the office between KU and KSU so sometimes we lose track of days and get excited. lol

3612  Economy / Services / Tax Preparation Services for Bitcoin on: November 08, 2013, 05:16:51 PM
Hello to everyone,

I am working on a way to offer my accountant services for bitcoins for this coming tax year, and since tax return preparation is my specialty, I thought that this would be a great place to start.  I am gauging interest for this service and to possibly line up some potential customers to get an idea of how much demand/work I will be looking at.

Some background about me...
Masters of Accountancy degree from Kansas State University
Working for a multi-billion dollar corporation for the past 2 years preparing tax returns for C-corp/S-corp/partnerships/and individuals
Studying to acquire my CPA license
Low, yet trustworthy presence in the bitcoin community participating in many deals from selling to buying all sorts of different items

Problems facing this type of work/workable solutions...
Anonymity - Since preparation of tax returns requires some very detailed information about individuals, I have thought a long time about how this would work.  The best thing that I have come up with would be to withhold your name and address and social security number and let you fill that stuff in.  I understand that there is no way for you to verify my authenticity, and I do not know any other ways to protect you, besides in person meetings.  If there are any suggestions please let me know.  But I will need to see copies of W-2's, 1099's, and any other information pertaining to completion of the return.

US only.

I can complete the return and email the finished product back to you to sign and mail.  I cannot protect or represent or be held accountable after you send the return.  Any information that is provided on the return you verify is complete and accurate.  (This is pretty common with any tax preparation service).

I would bill based on a time to complete basis that we can work out if interested, but I can guarantee that it will be cheaper than taking it into a CPA's office to get it done.  I would probably require an initial payment upfront, then when the finished product has been completed we can true up the difference and either refund or pay the remaining amount before the return is sent.

Return preparation time various depending on many aspects, such as income/investment level.  More complex returns will obviously take longer to complete.

I would be interested in completing federal returns as well as state returns for interested parties.  Discounts will be given if deciding for both to be completed.  Since states that I am unfamiliar with will take more time, as I will have to research the return prior to completion, I will most likely reduce the bill amount by a lot to account for learning the new return.

Please let me know if there is interest in this type of service, and we can talk more in depth if interest is shown.  I look forward to hearing suggestions for improvements to this service, as this is the first time I have heard of something like this being proposed, I would like to hear what people think about something like this.  Before anyone gets in here and says it, I understand the anonymity issue already, I do not need people pointing that out, I am looking for ways to mitigate this, or reduce people's fears about it.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from you.

3614  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Discussion to explore how to provide Group Buy Robocoin ATMs to investors on: November 05, 2013, 10:07:55 PM
I would be interested in what you mean by offering shares in the whole venture?  Are you planning on raising a bunch of IPO funds to buy mining equipment, and then just mine and retain dividends for expansion?  Or would you continue to host GB's with hosting, in which case, how would investors gets profits (aka. where would they come from)?

Personally I like what you are doing the way it is, where you are offering cloud type mining services at a rate better than on the market due to great/experienced service channels.

That being said, major overhaules to the website (which you have talked about) would make things easier than ever to join in GB's that you host.  By adding the ability to track partial ownerships and voting options in a "my account" would open up many possibilities.

I also would urge you to consider tax implications going forward, especially growing at the rate you are, where assets have quickly surpassed 100K and growing.  I believe Bobsag is located in the United States, which would mean that revenue gained from your co-op is taxable.  (actually based on the limited research I did, I believe setting the group up as a company, specifically a S-corp, would have a much better tax benefit than a co-op, where profits can be taxed at the co-op as well as at the personal level).  Of course, this is all based on whether your looking to tax profits or not, but I would assume as bitcoin grows, as does your organization, that you would want to remain complaint as much as possible.

I would love to see an ATM in the United States, but I do not think the government would allow one anytime soon due to extremely strict money handling laws (as I am sure you are aware).  I think that starting in other countries (I am unfamiliar with money handling laws elsewhere, but I assume they are less strict) would open up avenues of compliance knowledge and experience that would eventually allow an ATM to be open in the United States.

Again, I wish you the best of luck, I plan to purchase a few shares of your most recent GB and hope that your little co-op that could, continues to grow, as I think it really shows the honesty that the right people can bring to the community.
3615  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] R13: BLACK ARROW Bullet Run w Bitfury. $113, 218% less than cex.io! on: November 05, 2013, 07:44:28 PM
That's because you're too fast and I was still setting up.  Grin

I should have that stock up in a couple of minutes.

Also, yes in this co-op, we vote on major decisions such as sales date, alt-mining, etc., etc..

Haha sorry about that, I was eager!  Currently at work, hoping that this stays open until I get home to move funds around, I assume I have to pay from the address I expect to receive from.

Also I noticed you have finance people at your disposal, but if you need any help with tax advice please feel free to throw questions my way and I will help with what I can.  Currently employed at a multi-billion dollar corporation to prepare tax returns.  I like what your doing and would help if needed. Smiley

So when these are no longer profitable mining bitcoin, there will be a vote about switching them to alt currencies or selling them?
Also, looking in your online store and I do not see R13, am I just missing it?  Kicking myself for not getting in the other GB and thinking I should get in this one.

I have not been following any of this and now am figuring out that my 200 shares of TAT.ASICMINER are stuck in havelock with some of my money.

Is there a way that I can transfer those shares to Havelock?
