At least someone gets to be Free.
Do you feel free?

Freedom is a state of mind, and then Bitcoin comes along.....

3622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warren Buffet: "Stay away from Bitcoin" on: March 15, 2014, 11:48:34 PM

Decentralized exchange won't help you. Because your IP address is still visible to the government, and Tor+VPN can't help you.

Documents released by, and interviews with, Ed Snowden strongly imply that Tor and/or VPNs can, in fact, help quite a bit.

Anonymint please stop polluting other peoples threads.
And yes Tor CAN help you if you know how to use it Wink

3623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you see the blockchain being used to register votes in general elections? on: March 15, 2014, 11:45:58 PM
It might be more fair than some of the current voting machines.

hehe Indeed Smiley

Joseph Stalin told that "No matter who is voting. Matter who is counting the votes"

That's accurate, from the point of view of the tyrant.

But from the viewpoint of the voter, what are your real choices now? A Democrat baby killer who wants to control everything including the Internet, or a Republican baby killer who wants to control everything including the Internet.

Hey I got a note 3 somewhere, maybe I should try it.
But then again I prefer PC  Tongue

Looks like I am in the majority. I predict big bounties of bitcoin being placed to track down hackers.

Sorry but that is stupid.
Do you expect a hacker that can do this NOT to do it for his/her own benefit?
3626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Bitcoin Has Taught Us About Human Nature on: March 15, 2014, 11:35:15 PM
Let's not jump to conclusions, it just shows us that some people take time to recognize innovative new technology that is disruptive can actually change the status quo for the better.

So you think the masses are going to rise up and say "99% versus 1%, so let's dump our credit cards and use Bitcoin"?

I could see that possibly happening AFTER the global economic collapse that should start to collapse in 2016.

So maybe by about 2017 or 2018, they might start to make that transition in understanding. Right now, they are boiling frogs still in wonderland.

But by 2017 or 2018 it will be kind of too late. An anonymous coin will have already taken over because the wealthy are going to need an anonymous coin to avoid the massive government confiscation coming as the economy implodes.

jonald_fyookball?  Roll Eyes

Yes they will at some point, because their credit card is not "working" anymore.
Please stop hijacking threads.

is this hinting that he is a 33rd degree?

No, just that he is too old for this shit  Grin
3628  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.992 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 15, 2014, 11:26:18 PM
How long does it take to ship one of these to the USA? 180GH/s for ~0.99BTC seems pretty good if they are ready to ship right now.

They usually ship within 2 days after you order, then another 2-3 days to arrive at your location.

I ordered two last Monday (delivered Friday) and one on Tuesday (enroute and UPS will deliver this Monday) ... to give you an idea (delivery to nyc).

Two on Sunday, two on Monday.
Delivered Thursday and Friday in Europe.

3629  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 15, 2014, 11:21:24 PM
HI all. I recently received an AntMiner. Everything seems ok from an access standpoint but it won't hash. Poking around seems to indicate that DNS is not resolving. I can't get any name resolution when SSH'd into the box. I've been through the various configuration/troubleshooting guides and researching on the forums. I've tried the recommended NTP settings, DNS settings, hard reset, etc. My network config is as follows:

Router: 192.168.1.1
DNS: 192.168.1.1

Ant Config:

IP: 192.168.1.99
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Broadcast: blank
DNS: 8.8.8.8, 192.168.1.1

Any ideas what other configuration settings I need to review/check?

Thanks

Did you try changing the Ant IP address or switching it to DHCP protocol...

could also mean that your antminer isn't connected to the internet? so check LAN and WAN

Change second DNS to 8.8.4.4, also check if you have NTP errors in your system log.
If you do then you need to manually SSH and change some settings. (I can help you with that just drop me a PM).
3630  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Diamond Circle, Freemason on: March 15, 2014, 08:36:07 PM
anyone is free (or not) to endorse bitcoin.

what i think is potentially dangerous is the so-called bitcoin foundation
(or others who purport to speak for bitcoin or the bitcoin community)
endorsing certain companies or other ideas or movements

Exactly we need to be aware of the enemy within and not Freemasons FFS!

Freemasonry is literally dying out anyway due to the controversies in the late 80 early 90's about the banker killed on Blackfriars Bridge in London http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roberto_Calvi . A complete failure to recruit new members has left it a shadow of the former self.

Use your energies to try and track down the missing Gox coins or something

No need, the "missing" Gox coins are in Mark's possession.
3631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I gave a presentation on Bitcoin yesterday on: March 15, 2014, 08:33:04 PM
Great presentation.

3632  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [ CLOSED ] VX-1 Miner Group Buy - Free 1 TH/s Miner Giveaway on: March 15, 2014, 08:28:44 PM
So....there IS still a way to buy these wonderful machines even though we, as forum members, have been banned from their purchase eh?
lol

For something you don't care about you seem to devote a helluva lot of time & energy on it.

Even if these guys are everything they/you say they are they are still way too unprofessional to be selling a half million dollars worth of high end electronic eq.

There is almost NO chance that they are though, which means you are either ignorant or in on it.

Your attitude cost you your rep here...nothing else.

What the fuck does a forum reputation mean? Most of the trolls on this place, mainly the ones who when you look through their post history contribute nothing of value to this forum at all. 500+ post members, and 95% of what they post is garbage and trolling, Never any useful info, Never anything productive, Nothing but digital waste, They are the kind that sit and compare facebook friends counts and post "likes" at night because beyond the virtual space, they have no social life, or no life at all. Even the other geeks, nerds, and techies want nothing to do with them in the real world. Like i give a shit about a virtual reputation. It's about as useful as Tit's on a mule.

Furthermore, a half million in hardware especially asic miners is jack shit in the scheme of things. BFL made tens of thousands of units, HashFast, BA, Cointerra. Quite a few people from this forum bought VX-1's and all had very pleasant experiences, best part about it is not a single one of them will touch this thread, or for that matter most threads on this garbage wasteland of an UN-mannaged, shit moderated, damn near useless forum.

and finally.... My attitude.. I already made it clear i could give two shits about rep, Attitude you say? i say its speaking my mind, and while i am at it FUCK every one of the rejects from society that turned what could have been a great source for information and help into one of the most notorious piece of shit forums in the bitcoin space today. Now thats attitude.

Can you please provide info and links to ONE PROPER member of these forums that got these 4U cases... sorry I mean miners?

There still about a week away from shipping. But i am sure in about a week and a half you can firmly plant your face into your palms when everyone is talking about the super cheap super well built miners they got. I know i will be slapping a big 'ole "told ya so" on your reputation, not only for myself but for the dozens of other threads you trolled on.

You want to play the post a link game? Why dont you post a link to 1 single post you have made that was useful, informative, or that has contributed an ounce to the better being of this forum and the people who come here for information and help. i went back more pages than i care to count and see nothing but hundreds of posts from a troll.

Don't you ever shut up?

WE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR NEW SHINY MINER.

Hi,
I wonder why this forum is so hard to browse and post from a mobile device? It requires lot of pinch and zoom to complete posting. Should it be bit more easy and enjoyable.?

Please tell your comments and suggestions about what can be done to improve this.

3635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Bitcoin Has Taught Us About Human Nature on: March 15, 2014, 07:33:21 PM
Bitcoin offered free, anonymous money that held the promise of freeing us from the tyranny that stems from state issued and state mandated currencies.

And it failed. It failed because in the end most people didn't want to use and accept it in commerce to liberate themselves from the chains of state issued currency. What people wanted was not to use bit coins to buy and sell, but instead to buy hoard and sell the bitcoins themselves in hopes of getting rich.

It failed because, at our core, none of us really wanted freedom, and privacy in our economic transactions, all we wanted was speculations and more money.

Bitcoin is proof once again that people don't care about liberty, they care about wealth. And they will always sacrifice liberty for money.

The failure of bitcoin rests in it's fundamental belief that people wanted to be free. People don't want to be free, they want fast cars, big houses, and easy money.

Did anyone have to clean thermal paste off their recent antminers. I didn't do it this time; it seemed okay to touch and under a light ... but I wonder if I should put some arctic silver to use

actually, i have heard that excess thermal goo is frequently encountered, and saw a setup video where the new ant had it.. he said that it was common \... they are assembled in a hurry. better more than not enough, huh? IDK myself but the guy said that it did not affect operability.

That is correct. It does not affect operation however several members from the forum have encountered this issue and they had cleaned it.
Visit the setup & troubleshoot guide, you will find lots of info there.

3637  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 15, 2014, 07:18:21 PM
just ordered some antminers 5 set up with out a problem and the last one i cant connect  to its ip and its network port does not light up, ive tried resetting it and resetting the power supply, it seems to turn on and light up besides that. any help would be good.

Use advanced IP scanner and scan your network for it's IP.
Take it from there Wink

Is that a command line function or how do i use advanced IP scanner? im a bit out of my league here, i had just been typing in the ip address listed on the machine.

http://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/

Wink

Thanks man! so if this fails to detect it, should i assume something is wrong with the network port on the miner? its a brand new network cable but ill try a one working on another miner to remove it from the equation, the same psu is running other miners, and this ant lights up everywhere but the network ports flashy lights. If that is the case is there any chance the wifi would still work? i'd rather buy an antenna than have to deal with an RMA to china.

Advanced IP scanner doesn't fail unless you add the wrong parameters.
Trust me, if you Ant is properly connected it will find it.
Once you find the actual IP try and connect to it, if you have problems report here.

Without further do, I think that the "NWO" will consist of FOUR main 'Unions' globally, each 'Union' will have their OWN cryptocurrency! BTCitcoin being the USA's currency, created and watched by the NSA as a giant project to see how the masses react to such sudden change, innovation, dilemmas at hand.

Just curious, who are the other three "unions?"

^^^ I would like to know as well please.
