3641  Other / Meta / Re: Feedback: You can't give more than 5 ratings to the same user on: March 22, 2021, 07:14:04 PM
Note: I did not also know that feedbacks also limited, so thanks op for describing about itself.
The limits were probably introduced due to feedback spamming by some trolls which I think was a good move by the administrator.

I also just found out that a person can only send 5 ratings to the same 1 user profile. But do positive, neutral and negative count as 5? I mean, for example I have sent 2 positive ratings, 2 negative, and 1 neutral for one user. Can I still do the 6th for the same user?

Whether it's positive, negative or neutral, it still counts as a rating. Theymos is quite clear that one can never create more than 5 on a single profile.

What's the point of sending someone a positive, then a negative feedback at once though?
3642  Other / Meta / Re: Unable to access my bitcointalk email on: March 22, 2021, 07:01:18 PM
Changing the email address is easy as suggested by the members, however I would like to add on that in case you change the email address and your account gets hacked in the future, recovering it will be very hard as one of the prerequisites for recovering a stolen account is writing to the team responsible to recover accounts using the email address that was originally used to register the account.

If I were you maybe I would stake a bitcoin address, create a thread in reputations stating why i am changing my email address and also sign a message using the same stake bitcoin address for future reference.
3643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Trending Coins - New project on: March 21, 2021, 11:42:10 PM
You said that the data is from all exchanges but so far I am seeing only coin pairs from gate.io.

How do you plan to display all the data from other exchanges, the page seems crowded already?
I would also suggest you add bigger time intervals like 6 hours, 24 hours... etc
3644  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitamp Bitcoin Web Wallet - Send & Receive Bitcoin Instantly! on: March 21, 2021, 10:36:01 PM
Hot wallets, used often and for probably small amounts. I’d recommend Bitamp. Web based so really easy to use instantly and on any device. But you should try out other apps as well — just be wary of dust inputs that can inflate your fees.

You guys know any better options?
Since you asked for better options, I suggest hardware wallets are pretty solid in terms of security. Web based wallets are prone to phishing attacks unlike the hardware counterparts.
Do you guys have any plans to create a software wallet, maybe mobile versions of the wallet?
3645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Beware Linzhi Phoenix is a complete scam on: March 20, 2021, 11:46:19 PM
In my opinion, it is the same official company linzhi.io or some employee who is behind these waves of scams, it is likely that they did not have money to start mass production and in this way they have opted for fast and free Financing without having to return it
Linzhi.io is legit, you probably got scammed by a phishing site, there are a lot of them pretending to be selling mining gear. It doesn't mean Linzhi.io is responsible for that.
Next time keep your eyes wide open and your brain very alert before performing such transactions.

If in doubt, come around the forum and ask members if any service is legit or scam.
3646  Economy / Reputation / Re: Prophecy - "community driven" bounty NOT PAID on: March 20, 2021, 10:47:46 PM
Looks like the Bounty Manager was online about a week ago. Did you try to send him a private message? What did he say about the matter?

You are also talking about flagging the accounts and requesting for support , but I am not seeing any flag created.
3647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Trusted ASIC suppliers on: March 19, 2021, 09:22:24 PM
The Official suppliers I know about are;

1. Bitmain -----> https://www.bitmain.com
2. Innosilicon -----> http://www.innosilicon.com
3. Canaan -----> https://canaan.io
4. MicroBT -----> http://www.microbt.com

Please keep an eye on the URL. So many scammers and phishing sites in the mining equipment manufacturer and supplier world.
3648  Economy / Exchanges / Re: to place a limit order on: March 18, 2021, 11:04:41 PM
A limit order mean you want to buy or sell a coin at a specific price. So a buy limit order should be lower than the market price. If its above the market price, it will be filled immediately at the market price. Likewise,  a sell limit order should be higher than the market price. If it's below the market price, it will be filled immediately at the market price.

In your case
Quantity = Amount of Bitcoins you want to buy
Price = The price of each Unit of bitcoin at which you want the order executed
Total = Quantity of Bitcoins you bought X The price of each Unit of bitcoin at which you want the order executed. The total shows up automatically after you have filled price and quantity

For a buy limit order, the price should be at least below the market price. Any price above will get filled up immediately at market price. Also, the much lower the price from market price, the longer to might take for your order to get filled/executed.

3649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Only password on: March 16, 2021, 10:04:17 PM
If you have a key, but you have no Idea which Lock it opens, do you think you can access the room just by having the key in your hands? I am afraid you can't.

The same applies to your situation. The wallet file is encrypted using your passphrase so that no random person can access your Bitcoins and spend them. So without the encrypted wallet file, there is nothing to decrypt (open) using the passphrase.
3650  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Revolut-Etana-Kraken on: March 16, 2021, 09:54:45 PM
I am facing some difficultιes to deposit from Revolut to Kraken. I am still not sure if this transaction is allowed by Revolut. They are blocking it claiming there is a technical problem.
Do you know if I can deposit from Revolut to kraken?
Turns out you are not the only person facing the problem. For some reason Transactions between Revolut and Kraken are blocked  according to the information from Kraken support page

Quote
Below is a list of banks that are against deposits to or withdrawals from Kraken and other cryptocurrency exchanges. If you want to deposit or withdraw fiat currencies on Kraken, you'll need to use a bank that's not on this list.

Cloud banks:

Fire (Ireland)
Revolut (UK)
Traditional banks:

Rietumu Banka (Latvia)

National blacklists:

Qatar Bank Authority has blacklisted cryptocurrency exchanges

This list is just a tiny sample. The challenge is that most banks look at transfers on a client-by-client basis, rather than an out-right ban, so be sure to maintain a good relationship with your branch. We can provide a letter if your bank requests one.

3651  Other / Meta / Re: I just had a crazy thought? on: March 16, 2021, 08:58:22 PM
If there are 10 members in this forum, bearing the signature of a major casino, but all 10 members use fake link in their signature. How many people will click and how many will use the fake website  Huh I think the damage will be great if this happens  Roll Eyes Is there anything I don't know yet?
Of course, it is possible for someone to sneak in a malicious link in the signature code but if the 10 members with the malicious links were active. It would be easy to notice them because if they changed the signature links, this means they would not be enrolled in the signature campaign (if they were enrolled,  the campaign manager would obviously disqualify them from the campaign)

If any sharp member saw random accounts being active all of a sudden while wearing signatures of a campaign they are not enrolled in, they would definitely suspect that something is fishy and would investigate further
3652  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashFlare on: March 16, 2021, 08:14:03 PM
I like to compare cloud mining services to ponzi or pyramid schemes. The money you use for buying "packages" is used to pay people who joined earlier than you. Once the number of people joining the service reduces. They start delaying payments or even stopping totally.

I don't know how much or what year you invested in the scam cloud mining service but if you had just bought BTC using that money. It would have multiplied a lot more than they had promised to pay you.
Otherwise, sorry about the bad experience.
3653  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: phemex.com - SCAM !!! FRAUD !!! DON'T USE THIS SHIT !!! on: March 16, 2021, 03:10:27 PM
You haven't really explained what happened in detail. We could use some screenshots, what was your entry price and the price your position got liquidated.

You also haven't specified which type of margin you used. Was it Isolated Margin or Cross Margin?
How much was your Leverage?

Losing money while trading futures is very easy especially with very volatile cryptocurrency prices. I would suggest when starting out a journey of futures trading, you use very small amounts of money you can afford to lose plus small leverages to open positions such as  x2, x3 or x5 Maximum,
3654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: How much is this cryptokitty worth? on: March 16, 2021, 02:38:56 PM
The value of the kitty depends on so many factors and being collectibles, setting a price is not that easy. But the most sought out factors are;
- Appearance
- Utility
- Rarity

There so more useful information in this guide, you might want to check it out
3655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is overgamesshop.com Legit or another scam on: March 15, 2021, 11:57:43 PM
Absolute same, avoid at all costs

The site is barely 2 months old
Code:
Domain: overgamesshop.com
Registrar: NameCheap, Inc.
Registered On: 2021-01-14
Expires On: 2022-01-14
Updated On: 2021-01-14

But they claim to have been in business since 2014

I would only trust manufacturers and official distributors for mining gear purchases and not some random sites claiming to be resellers.
3656  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How do members from the US trade crypto Futures? on: March 15, 2021, 11:52:09 PM
As far as I know, most people from the US still use BitMex/Deribit except they hide their identity somehow - through a VPN or otherwise.
Not sure about Deribit but bitmex now require mandatory KYC verification in order for one to trade on their platform. So the only way a US citizen would trade on the platform would be through using fake KYC documents. VPN would barely help in this case

It's not the platform that determines whether or not someone from the U.S. can trade - it is entirely up to U.S. legislation.
The platform is tasked with ensuring that they don't let any US citizen trade futures on their platforms or else the fall in trouble with Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)
3657  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Bitcoin stolen from blockchain account! on: March 15, 2021, 11:33:17 PM
My blockchain password was totally unique, I never used it on any other site. The only thing they could have gotten from my email was my wallet ID? Huh
How about your recovery phrase, did you keep it in any of your online accounts or device?

There's also malware that could come in the form of a keylogger or a malicious browser extension that could steal your login credentials without you knowing. So however unique your password was, the hacker always received a copy of it and perhaps used the details to gain access to your accounts.
3658  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Bitcoin stolen from blockchain account! on: March 15, 2021, 11:08:41 PM
I typed my email in haveibeenpwned.com and it says my email/password got leaked in 2019.

https://imgur.com/GUO8OTl

I'm not sure how but I guess I'll never know! I searched "security alert" in my gmail and it seems I had a string of security alerts throughout 2019 which I somehow missed!  Undecided

I'm guessing either the google chrome password manager screwed me or logging into gmail in my college campus?

I guess the only questions I have now are why did they wait until 3 days ago when they had my details since 2019? Also why didn't they touch any of my other accounts when they had access to my email and could basically get into everything?
If your email was leaked, then it's very likely your password got leaked too. I am assuming you used the same login credentials for various sites. So someone probably tried various sites and due to the recent Bitcoin boom, tried his luck with your different web wallets.

If I may ask

1. Did you have the same login credentials for multiple sites, including your email?
3659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sold my first Bitcoin and am happy on: March 15, 2021, 10:52:01 PM
It's the whole point of holding. So that we can ride the wave to a particular target price after a few years and sell of for profits, right?  Wink

What matters most is that the selling price was at a point where you felt was your target price and not having to hold for 15 years and not enjoy the benefits of your patience over the years.

I also usually sell off whenever I realize profits that I feel satisfied with. I am not the type waiting for 10,000%  growth in value to sell.
3660  Economy / Reputation / Re: 1xbet Luring out non-crypto gamblers on: March 15, 2021, 10:00:06 PM
By the way 1xbet is what we could call the parent company to 1xbit. 1xbet scam company has been there as early as 2006 if I recall very well and was majorly dealing with fiat deposits and withdrawals. When Cryptocurrencies became popular. They decided to launch 1xbit to accept crypto deposits and continue scamming innocent victims.

What is very disappointing is that they are Official sponsors or have official partnerships with  Seria A, La Liga, Barcelona and a handful of other top clubs which can easily lure so many people who don't know about their scammy nature.
