2661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: new PoW projects for the GPU. on: February 03, 2022, 11:08:02 PM
You could manually check for the newly announced POW coins in the Altcoin Announcements board, though it's hectic - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0

Whattomine is also helpful site - https://whattomine.com
Miningpool stats has a section dedicated to new POW coins - https://miningpoolstats.stream/newcoins
2662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How good is ecash on: February 01, 2022, 09:53:58 PM
Most of the Bitcoin forks or forks of bitcoin forks like eCASH are meant to die or become worthless overtime. I mean look at all the Bitcoin forks out there. Tell me one Bitcoin fork that has been successful

The creators of the forks use them to get rich quick, while the miners or buyers waste money investing in the dying coins.

I Would say it's not worth it.
2663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins like Monero to mine? on: January 31, 2022, 11:53:59 PM
You will be lucky to get a coin as good performing as Monero after a couple of years. So even when you try to mine the newly announced POW coins, just know it will be like a lottery?
Just like someone said gambling.

Lots of shitcoins with no serious future are on the loose. Have that in mind.
2664  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How Coinbase knows an account is from a sex worker? on: January 31, 2022, 11:43:43 PM
You could also ask yourself, how does Coinbase know an account is of a gambler?

Part of the information comes from heavy investment in chainalysis and KYC/AML procedure, which involves gathering a user's information at all costs.
Incase u didn't know. such sites collect a huge amount of information about you. Just check their privacy policy - https://www.coinbase.com/legal/privacy

2666  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU) on: January 31, 2022, 11:03:38 PM
Binance isn't the only exchange which has taken this step. BitMEX is known for its large emergency fund: https://www.bitmex.com/app/insuranceFund
Point of information. Bitmex's insurance fund isn't intended to act as an emergency fund in case of hacks or attacks on an exchange, just like the way Binance's SAFU works

It's mostly there to avoid Auto Deleveraging other trader's positions in case of huge market movements where certain positions may end up into bankruptcy instead of getting liquidated at particular prices.

If Bitmex was hacked, this fund would not help in such a situation. I think Bybit too has such a fund.
2667  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: important question about an ASIC on: January 31, 2022, 10:43:16 PM
You might be risking. If I were you, I would avoid using the ASIC. There have been instances where stolen Bitcoin miners have been tracked down

Why do you think he sold the stolen miner to you and cut off contact?
2668  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: any real mining shop? just got slammed on: January 31, 2022, 10:15:15 PM
There are so many scams on mining equipment sales. The only sites you can trust are those from official mining equipment manufactures and official online stores.

If there is no stock in those sites, you are better off keeping the money to yourself, or you will lose it to scammers

Here is the domain data about the site

2669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Need for a Decentralized Cloud Network in Securing Bitcoin Data on: January 31, 2022, 08:23:13 PM
The solution is staring you right in your eyes. It's the Bitcoin Network. What other better decentralized Bitcoin data storage would be out there than our very own?
Sometimes when we overthink, we tend to overlook the obvious solutions.
2670  Economy / Reputation / Re: abuse of trust Bounty Manager joeperry on: January 31, 2022, 07:59:54 PM
I understand I don't have full power in this very extraordinary forum < PRESTIGIOUS> <COMBAT FORCES> so there is neither justice nor defense for ordinary people like me. .!&$@$%87156#1...... but if there is a chance I will change...!!
You don't need "full power" to do the right thing. How many low ranked members have been negatively tagged here for writing up original articles?

only 1 time i made that mistake bro #!@#1>,
Unfortunately for trust, even that one time counts.

If you think I am lying, Just try plagiarizing some content and posting it in the forum. You will earn a permanent ban, even just for a single post or sentence.
2671  Economy / Reputation / Re: Account seller. on: January 31, 2022, 07:47:16 PM
Yes, I created the topic after the merit system was set. I'm trying to find a new account because I feel unable to rank up with my limited knowledge on the forum. But I didn't find it. Logically, it is impossible for me to manage a MEMBER Rank account if I have another account with a higher rank. But again I say, it was my fault in early 2018.

For these 3 cases I want to provoke other users who are directly involved in buying and selling accounts, then I can get evidence from them, but none of them are willing to PM me.
.....

Here I will say this is my real account, Since it was active again, there is no suspicious activity in my account, such as a recent change of Email or Password.
What about the other two accounts (1 full member and 1 senior member) that you potentially sold?

If you are willing to show as that this is your past, Can you please mention the usernames of the accounts you sold and the dates you sold them?
Who bought the accounts?

Prove to us that you are a changed person.
2672  Economy / Reputation / Re: abuse of trust Bounty Manager joeperry on: January 31, 2022, 07:33:12 PM
Joeperry made the right call. Copying and pasting medium articles for rewards is similar to cheating. I have seen so many accounts get tagged for cheating bounty campaigns. If plagiarism of medium articles is not allowed, then why would you go ahead and do it.

The red trust also helps other campaign managers who might want to hire you know that what you do is to just copy and paste medium articles instead of writing up original content.
2673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: Miningpoolhub autoexchange not working. on: January 30, 2022, 10:56:26 PM
The problem keeps happening once in a while, with several users having the same complaint, but after one time things get back to normal. I suggest you make a query in their Subreddit or twitter.

2674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Who would? on: January 30, 2022, 10:42:42 PM
Right now? What's a waste of money it's better to invest your money on tokens and coins, they are down in value but are now recovering go for Terra Luna, BNB, Matic and Solana you can make some profits off this before market dips again, not a good time to buy GPUs IMO.
In a market that's on a downtrend right now. It's hard to catch those perfect highs and dips. I think the best thing for OP would be to wait until the bear market matures well enough, maybe in 2-3 years, before buying at a certain price target in anticipation for the next bull run.

Buying those coins that shot up so much recently like Luna, Solana etc. would be suicide. Just like the violently rose in price, the price drop is going to be the same
2675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: f2pool's official discord channel is LIVE! on: January 28, 2022, 11:55:39 PM
Or even better in the Thread here for F2Pool「魚池」 , i dont know if that is an official thread from f2pool !
It looks like it was their official thread, but the OP of that thread and all other accounts that were representing f2pool have since been inactive, otherwise, this thread does not belong here though I doubt if OP too will be back here.
2676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Chia plotting on: January 28, 2022, 11:47:26 PM
Is chia mining worth it at all? That's what I want to know 😂 the major problem with chia is the plotting part that requires high end components like CPU with higher cores and thread and also faster hard drive, these costs much and the reward is low compare to GPU mining
It was lucrative and looked promising at the beginning but not anymore. Compare it to a scenario where gold is discovered in an area. The first people to mine there make a kill, but then a gold rush happens and everyone wants to mine that gold. Big corps come in, and it's game over for the retail miners.
2677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH 2.0 is never coming? on: January 28, 2022, 11:40:54 PM
Once that is released then gameover eth for at least few months.
Just like buying any other altcoin right now and trying to HODL it. This month has already shown a glimpse of what the coming bear market will look like  Cheesy
Most Coins/tokens are going to drop by over 80%  especially the "hot" coins that hard sharp gains in the bull market.

At some point, I expect ETH to drop to less than $500. It's just speculation, but something tells me it may happen.
2678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question About Bitcoin Blocks on: January 26, 2022, 11:42:22 PM
Here is an example of an empty block that was mined today earlier today - https://mempool.space/block/000000000000000000057b946ab19b139fbe58a70de0dbfe1fe179281f4568c7 (it only contains one transaction which is the coinbase transaction)

Let's assume nobody made a bitcoin transaction today and the mempool was empty. New empty blocks would still continue to get confirmed in approximately every 10 minutes with miners only earning via block rewards
2679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance Manipulative Wick in BNB/AUD Pair on: January 25, 2022, 11:56:03 PM
Lol, so does a long wick always signify manipulation by an exchange?

Absolutely no. I would advise understanding how the buy and sell orders work plus the order book depth and how large buy or sell orders can lead to flash spikes or flash crashes respectively.
So that you stop putting all the blame on exchange manipulation always.
2680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What do you have to say about this on: January 25, 2022, 11:09:20 PM
I want to try some my luck and yes I accept it as a lottery, like I've said before the chances are so slim but still I want to take the risk, I have GPU mining rigs that brings me dollars every day but this ASIC miner is old I just want to do this, even if I made nothing from this I don't care
If you don't care, then why are you asking this question?  Cheesy

Obviously, you do care, but all members are trying to let you know is to be realistic. You might mine all your lifetime and not win a single block. You must be ready for that outcome, too.
