3661  Other / Meta / Re: Bug or option needs to be added to change ref post in a type 1 flag? on: March 15, 2021, 09:34:19 PM
The problem is because people are creating flags using links to topics that are not scam accusations (Honestly, i have never seen scam accusations getting deleted by mods). The Link used shouldn't be from the thread created by the accused but rather a thread created by another member clearly documenting the accusations or issues about the user.

Right before one creates the flag. There's a message about the reference links.

Quote
You must link to a topic documenting your specific concerns. Someone visiting your topic should get a clear idea of what this flag is about. The topic must not be self-moderated. If you flag many users, you can create a single flag-explanations topic.
3662  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you replay trading Bitcoin market? on: March 15, 2021, 08:37:25 PM
Is it necessary to practice bitcoin trading by replaying the market?
You could if you are still a beginner so that you get to learn basics, but eventually you would have to use the live market because there is a lot more in learning how to trade than just making Technical analysis.

You have got to keep your risk management in check and emotions when trading and there's no better way than doing that with real money on a Live trade.
3663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: HITBTC withdrawal fees on: March 14, 2021, 11:20:02 PM
I can attest that the withdrawal fee is high but personally I'm still using the exchange because I never face any problem using it for years already. I also applied for KYC and got approve and all my transactions are smooth, the downside is only the fee, they just recently increase fees on some altcoins as well.
Well you are lucky that you are not one of the so many victims of HitBTC's account blocking policy. Just check out the ANN thread in exchanges board and see how many people are complaining with unresolved issues. When so many people complain about a service, then It means that there's something wrong with it

Each exchange does have its own issues even still unresolved and some complaints even into those famous exchange still having these kind of small issues.
If people do find out hassle for them then they can always make use of other exchange yet no one is forcing them to use the platform.Incase if there are
issues with fees then you can always make out conversions to alts to lessen up the fee.Not for erc20 at the moment because it is also high but there are
several coins which could really do the job well.
Of course all exchanges have issues, but the difference is that it's almost impossible to resolve them on HitBTC unlike other exchanges like Binance. HitBTC's withdrawal fees have been very high even before the bull market.
3664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: HITBTC withdrawal fees on: March 13, 2021, 10:55:33 PM
Withdrawal fee for Raven Coin is 199.95 Rvn at the moment. It makes 38 USD!
It's only 1 Rvn on the other exchanges.
Is there any reason why you still use HitBTC?
Because there's more that enough evidence online that shows that;

1.  They are outright scammers. If you are unlucky, your account will be blocked KYC verification will be initiated.9/10 times you won't  get verified and your account won't get unlocked.
2. The withdrawal fees are one of the highest among exchanges.
3665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Altr.trade - centralized ethereum tokens/assets exchange on: March 12, 2021, 11:58:52 PM
Why would you launch and announce a service without any terms of service?

I find it rather awkward that  when one is registering, they have to agree to terms of service that are non-existent  Grin

Do you people have an imagination that all of us here don't bother reading terms of service?
3666  Economy / Reputation / Re: Almost one year disappeared from the forum, what am I left and lost? on: March 12, 2021, 11:42:34 PM
Welcome back.

Sorry about what you went through. I know that we aren't any close buddies here or even had any direct deals in the past, but I did notice your disappearance and wondered what had happened because you had suddenly stopped posting (you were even participating in an active signature campaign at that time if I remember well)

Little did we know that you were going through a lot  Cry
I do wish you well and hope for the best for you.

Cheers.
3667  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How do members from the US trade crypto Futures? on: March 12, 2021, 11:06:38 PM
Honestly I think there are people from US can simoly do trades even with future trading inspite of heavy regulations being applied to users.

I've got a friend from US and he is trading futures on Binance global like there is nothing wrong. So I'm sure there are ways they can do trade but I'm not sure whether it's a legal or violation on the rules. Also if they used some trick so they would not be found as US citizen or living inside the country.
Correct me if I am wrong, but one can not trade futures on Binance minus first verifying KYC. So I really wonder how you friend bypassed that.

If you want to be fully legal though with AML/KYC and all that, I'm guessing the platform to use is Kraken.
Sadly, Kraken too doesn't offer Futures trading to US citizens. Just like may other platforms I thought would.

3668  Economy / Exchanges / How do members from the US trade crypto Futures? on: March 11, 2021, 11:13:23 PM
I did check a number of crypto exchanges that offer futures trading but to my surprise. All of them seemed not to offer futures trading to the US Citizens according to their Terms of service which kind of got me wondering.

How do people from the US trade crypto futures?
Are there some regulated platforms that I don't know that allow Futures trading for US traders (a part from the likes of Bybit that haven't yet started serious KYC enforcement on US traders of course)?
3669  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why is the Beginners & Help section excluded from certain signature campaigns? on: March 11, 2021, 10:16:10 PM
Just like you see some campaigns exclude Local Boards, Politics and Society, Lending etc. I think it's more about the target audience rather than then being "spam boards" because there are boards with far much spam than some of those I have listed.

For example lending board is mostly for people interested in lending and borrowing. So I don't think a gambling platform or casino would get any audience from there.
3670  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: LOOKING FOR OTHER VICTIMS OF THE FAKE ELECTRUM DOWNLOAD SCAM on: March 10, 2021, 12:25:08 PM
Just to add on more finding OP. Even the company you think might help you "Reclaim" your lost crypto is just going to exploit you and probably lead to loss of more funds. Just let it go. Learn a lesson and move on.

Here are a few reviews on Trustpilot from a dozen of unhappy clients who tried to use the service you are looking forward to use.

Useless
Coinfirm's Crypto Reclaim is an utter waste of time.

Really waste of time and nothing has…
Really waste of time and nothing has been done since June

I don't know who's worse the scammers…
I don't know who's worse the scammers or them. Our case Stakedwallet a multi million scam was dealt since May with them. Unfortunately so much time wasted and the big mistake was getting in touch with them instead trying proper professional services. These guys are obviously a joke they don't know how to deal with any case, complete waste of time useless. They don't communicate properly all what we got from them was a bunge of non-sense automatically emails but in reality nothing has been done and I do regret asking them for help. I think they are the greatest help of all scammers as I don't know if anyone recovered a single satoshi with them. Fake company unprofessional please avoid them.

Wasting time
Case was submitted in June and now they are saying we need more case to go ahead and it is really waste of time and allowing scammers to run away as Bit coin did.

Quote
Spend your energy/focus elsewhere
Do not waste your time with this company. They request a huge mount of information to process your case. (Which in one senses is fine considering more information better chances of detailed investigation, right?) but they show you zero evidence themselves on what they are doing with their "investigation". For me it was incredibly lengthy and time consuming to provide all required information, plus buy their special crypto token to get "priority review" (please change this to just sending the value in fiat, its not easy to be buying crypto when you have just been hacked and need to shut down all wallets, exchanges). By the time I had jumped through the all the hoops, the thieves were long gone, tumbled the coins through wallets etc. lot of the evidence required appears to be checking if you are trying to pull a fast one, and at times I felt I was the one under investigation.
On first application you must submit a form, which asks all the address that were hacked, with TXT hashes and receiving addresses. Then after submitting Coinfirm get back to you and ask to send screenshots of all said addresses. Could this not have been asked in the first form? why waste people's time? They also ask for screenshots of all emails you are having with wallet providers, which for me was many and again just increased the time for anything to be happening with my "case"

after 3 weeks of filling in forms, going back and forth I received a very bland generic email saying they would not continue with my case, as it was deemed unfeasible. No explanation why it was unfeasible, just couple of "could be" reasons to which any case could be unfeasible, nothing specific to my case. There is never any names on their email correspondence so no idea who is doing what or who to refer to. its very impersonal customer service. The email informing me they not would be taking the case forward itself seemed to be written as an internal employee IT service note to all staff, (short, curt, impersonal) rather then to someone who has just lost their entire life savings.
3671  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: LOOKING FOR OTHER VICTIMS OF THE FAKE ELECTRUM DOWNLOAD SCAM on: March 09, 2021, 11:55:26 PM
From whom exactly are you reclaiming the crypto. Electrum or the scammer's behind the phishing update. If it's the former then I think you might be wasting time and other resource because among the instructions when one is installing electrum. There are emphasis on verifying PGP signature

Electrum should not be responsible for anyone careless enough to use phishing apps. It's just like trying to reclaim funds from Binance.com after they got stolen by a similar looking phishing site.
3672  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.com Wallet Outage on: March 09, 2021, 10:53:50 PM
Just another one of those many reminders as to why users have to avoid using the old fashion web wallets that require one to sign up using email addresses. Users should also always back up their seeds just in case the service goes offline.

They claim to have fixed the issue - unfortunately for me - I'm still not receiving email authorizations to login to my wallet, which I haven't received for about 3 weeks now...
Did you back up your seeds? If yes, just import your account in electrum and ditch blockchain wallet for good.
3673  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia has been in "maintenance" for the last 14 hours! on: March 09, 2021, 09:58:41 PM
Maybe i woke up too late  and  this is not the place, but i can't find another one where the claims of account holders are discussed?
( I still not received inviting  to register on the Cryptopia claims portal.)
You have been away for too long especially for someone with funds in an exchange. It has always been said that it's not a good practice to use exchanges as wallets to hold funds for long periods of time as anything from short notice shutdown to hack can happen to an exchange

Trying using the forum search button or this tool (https://ninjastic.space/search) to locate different threads discussing Cryptopia

I did get a few threads and links

How are you still using the scam exchanges to this date, yet we have so many scam accusations against it even in this forum?
Just check out the negative feedback on their profile to understand why you should never trust the exchange

I just tried to visit the site, and it seems to load from my side but what's weird is that information displaced in the search results

No information about their maintenance was posted today in their twitter too - twitter.com/p2pb2b
3675  Economy / Reputation / Re: [self mod] Flag to user DarkStar_ on: March 09, 2021, 02:30:24 PM
It looks like user DarkStar_ is a racist. His attitude towards people depends on their nationality. I consider it necessary to warn everyone else about this user.
I ask all who are not indifferent to support my flag for user DarkStar_
It looks like you are just having a targeted attack on @DarkStar_ and Chipmixer campaign in general. Judging from your posts, you seem to be someone who's very bitter for no reason or just trying to stir up drama.

We have had so many signature campaigns and campaign managers in the past and present who don't want Local board posters in their campaigns and only want those who post English. Should we say they are racists too? Or racism only applies when it's Chipmixer Signature Campaign?
3676  Economy / Reputation / Re: 2 cheaters. Will they get payments on 17/03/2021? on: March 09, 2021, 02:16:18 PM
I don't think both members were trying to "cheat". They simply just left the campaign they had previously enrolled in and applied for other campaigns of which they got accepted, and they changed their signatures. Maybe what they didn't do was notify the campaign manager of the previous campaign that they had abandoned the ship.

Obviously they won't get payment from the previous campaign they were enrolled in.
3677  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: March 09, 2021, 12:30:19 PM
No. I'm the real owner of this account. Lol.

I translated shorena's post before about "How to sign a message" here's the thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3062163.0

And the address that I used to sign a message there is posted here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.msg31464339#msg31464339

(the address that I lost the private key)

I only stake my address here.
It's the whole point of staking a bitcoin address here. So that you can prove that you are the owner of the account by signing a message using your private key otherwise people are not just going to believe words minus proof.

You should be extra careful when storing private keys or mnemonic phrase even if they are of addresses used to just prove ownership of your account.

Do everything you can and look for the private key of the address you staked  Wink
3678  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Issues with Binance on: March 09, 2021, 06:49:45 AM
Are you getting this message when you try to trade?

"Apologies but we are unable to provide services to you as per our Terms of Use"

One of the reasons could be that you are using a free VPN whose IP address have been used in the past to abuse the service such as DDoS attacks
Or they actually are blocking IP address from banned Countries.
3679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I pick some PEAK? on: March 08, 2021, 11:57:07 PM
Yeah, the thing is I can?t say that I am professional trader/investor or something like that, but I wanna know more about that project, interested in your opinion guys. They have large APY, so I guess its good to start with them.

It's not a guarantee that you will make that much money or your funds will be safe under someone's smart contract.
What's the point of a large APY if one day you wake up and your money is gone?

Maybe you should first read through a disclaimer on their website to open your eyes

3680  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin advice on: March 08, 2021, 11:00:46 PM
What's the best crypto to use for trading on there (least amount of fees, ability to trade for other coins, etc.), BTC, ETH, LTC, TETHER (USDT), USDC?
It all depends on your strategy but most people prefer trading against stable coins as it makes it easier to track your profit and loss in fiat value. Fees are charged in percentage form for all trading pairs, so they are the same.

There are fee discounts if you hold Kucoin shares (KCS) - https://www.kucoin.com/vip/level?lang=en_US

Since you can't deposit fiat on there and buy coins directly from it (I think?) does that make every crypto to crypto trade a taxable event? I'm assuming there's no way around this? I'm a US citizen.
