This story illustrates how politically charged today's media has become. It's one thing for the social-media-butterflies to jump to erroneous conclusions, that's just what they do. But when the main-stream media jumps to conclusions you know the system is broken.
Real reporters would want far more clarification before jumping on the bandwagon. They might even want to review all the evidence themselves before reporting on the story, or at the very least reserve judgment and merely relay the facts.
But that's not what we get from the MSM today. The second a story breaks they want to be among the first to report on it. They want to beat the competition to the punch, regardless of how accurate (or more commonly; inaccurate) their information might be. Exasperating the issue is that most reporters and media outlets tend to lean on the liberal side of social issues, and they tend to be less scrutinous of stories that support their biases.
At first glance, it appeared that the MAGA hatted youngsters were instigating the situation, and thus vindicated the MSM's hatred for Trump. What's really troubling, is after they learned that they got it wrong, they didn't apologies to the children who's lives they jeopardized.
Watched a bit of CNN at lunch today (no "cable" just internet at home). WOW! These guys are on a hate-trump-binge. First some garbage about "Cohen being threatened by Trump", then "Breaking News: Pelosi refuses House Floor for State of Union". Really? I thought that was Old News, at least a couple days. Meanwhile the running text line at the bottom is going on and on about the Emergency Dire Straits of the entire world collapsing because of the Government Shutdown. Maybe one story in four was something other than the Hate-Trump-Binge. What a joke. |

If I were Pelosi or Trump, I would start negotiating a deal that includes the wall. The dems can't ask for anything because they don't actually want to fix anything but I would ask for DACA amnesty instead of 3 years temporary status. I would probably ask for increased capacity for processing asylum seekers at all southern points of entry. I would give him the wall in return and the government may open. I must ssay Trump really has the whole system in checkmate. He's been playing 3D chess and has been several steps ahead this entire time. The Dems have no way out of this current situation without losing. Trump is like the joker to them and they have no batman to save them.

I hate the fucking wall but it seems like giving him the wall is the best way out at this point from a perspective of loss mitigation. Dems have always supported border security including some type of barrier so its an odd redline at this point.
