Yikes I'm playing against McCaffrey and Carson and they both out. Injuries are racking up this year.  Survival of the fittest this year in ff.  Good luck to all this week.  I hope everyone wins! (Except hueristic Smiley )
3682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: October 16, 2021, 09:20:53 PM
^^ Only two teams that I saw that happen, The Bulls 1995-1996 season (not sure if some of you have been born already) and then the Warriors 2015-2016.

Those two teams are great, they've been playing for years before they dominate the league.

So I'm not sure if Lakers with their current line up can accomplished it within one season. Not saying that they are not that good, but with the level of competition right now, it's going to be very difficult.

Lakers will not do it, they are struggling in the preseason already and that's an evidence that they will not do well early in the regular season. They will have to work on their chemistry first before I would say they have a chance, and remember, Lebron is not young anymore, he has some limitations that's why he chooses to play with the star players so his burden will be lighter.
While there are others who are seeing Lakers negatively, I'm the one who is thinking like "This is only pre-season and I believe that the Lakers are hiding something in their sleeves that will help them in the regular season".

Well if you will see their past resumes, most of them are all stars and most of them are the go-to guy when they are at their primes in their past teams. That isn't the case right now. They are old enough to get outsped by other young players. I'm not saying though that they are not a strong team but we are expecting too much from them and we are disregarding their ages and their chemistry as well.

They are old and they also have limitations as well. We are expecting that they will build a chemistry as they play for a longer time but even though it will be built, I don't think that they are that dominant that to the point that they will be at the top in Western Conference though we might see them in playoffs. Earlier this off-season we are expecting Nets Vs. Lakers in NBA Finals but now that the Lakers are playing this way, do you think that these 2 teams will meet at the NBA Finals still?? Smiley

It is preseason yes, and will their in season rotation look different, yep.  People male too much of it.  But between time management and injuries this team is going to have its struggles.  I can see 58 is wins for the Lakers this year.  No way they get anywhere near 70.  Too old.

I am glad that mining is in law in Salvador
so mining in this country will be easy Tongue

I don't get this comment.  What about mining is a law in El Salvador, and how would that make it easier.  I was only commenting that governed entities mining can do so at a loss and continue essentially weeding out the general public.  Is there a law about inning in ES?

In other news knicks looking solid.  Got good depth this year hopefully they can stay healthy.  Got that Christmas game against the Hawks circled.  Should be an interesting game knowing how last season ended.  I'm sure Randle will be up for that one.  Think the Knicks can squeeze a couple more wins than they did last year with this squad (pending kemba can stay off the injury report too often)  it's like the Knicks are a graveyard of great guards with past knee issues.

I agree, who wouldn't forget the Knicks last year? They have pulled a string of victories, 8 or 9 and they've always been the underdogs. That's why betting on Knicks is really very good strategy last season as they always overcome the odds.

And now it seems that they are more complete right now, and hopefully DRose and Julius Randle can lead the team again in a tough Eastern Conference.

They have enough to be relevant but they need one of the young guys like rj to really step up.  If Mitchell Robinson can just stay on the court he dominates games underneath, he changes the Knicks.  Taj is alright but he has limitations.  Mitch, rj or IQ have to really step up for them to get far.  The vets are the vets they need someone else to be the x factor.  (Desperate knick fan here  Grin)

I think RJ did really step up last season, but probably fall short in the playoffs since that is their first time. So give them some time to adjust and get to the next level.

Taj is more of a defensive player now, not longer an offensive weapon but can still score if needed. Specially those mid range jumper. Julius hopefully can continue his run and play like an MVP. I mean consistency is the key here. They just come to life after the all star break, just image if they sustain that run and started hot.

RJ did but he is still inefficient on the floor and can go quiet a lot if games, settles for the 3 too much when he can drive to the basket.  Kid has a little more to go to become an x factor type for a team.  He has the killer instinct just needs to hone that in a little.

Damn, that was a close one, won it by the skin of my teeth.

The same thing happened 2 weeks ago when the Bucs played the Pats... They won but didn't quite cover.

Don't know if any of you guys are podcast fans but I remember Bill Burr saying he bet on Tom Terrific to cover, even though he's a giants Pats fan. So that way even if the Pats lost, he'd still win the bet. Of course neither ended up happening, which means the line has been pretty darn accurate with them.

Yeah I don't want to veer to far off but bill burr is definately one of my favorite comedians.  I just seen him live for the first time, was hilarious.  He's a huge new england/Boston Homer and being a giants/knicks/yanks fan it's funny listening to him rip on em.

And yeah lucky for you the eagles don't know how to play by the book and went for it. Lol nice hit.

I haven't been imbibing many beverages lately, but I must have been sniffing paint and not remember it because I ended up taking the Eagles at +7.

Since I came back to the states I discovered seltzer beer and have been all over that Michelob Lime Cucumber, or whoever makes it. I also like the White Claw grapefruit quite a bit... It may lead to lower testosterone levels but I still enjoy the shit out of it.

Eagles went for the 2 point conversion and hit it lol.  I really don't like when teams do that it usually ends up hurting than helping but man I know more Vegas money was on the bucs.  Up to Tommy boy now.  We got a game!!

Edit: congrats on the eagles +7.  Bettors definately are not happy with the eagles tonight.

What do you guys think about tonight's matchup? Is today finally the day to bet against Tom Brady?
It's never a good time to bet against Brady but in the scheme of things this might be the closest to the best time. Smiley

Have you two started weekend refreshments a day early? Betting against the goat? Roll Eyes

Not until he meets Josh Allen and Bills defense in the SB.

YUP!

+2 for style points Smiley

Never ever bet against the goat.  I had a gross amount on the atl/NE SB on atlanta with them up 28-3 in the middle of the third.  Never ever again would I bet against that MF.  He is good enough to beat every team or at a minimum screw any spread.  And when he is only giving a td, nope Never.

Just reason...Tom Brady and the other side you have jalen hurts.  Hard nope lol.

@Hueristic, sorry for the trade request, i like Mitchell but it's Herbert szn, kid looks great and is likely to get 20+ carries vs GB.  Smiley

No worries, I had to give it a shot. Wink

I'll still do my best every week. Smiley

What was the trade request?

Mitchell for Herbert, why you got an RB for trade? PM me.

I have some rbs 4 solid but I don't see me upgrading elsewhere.  Trades are always so tough for me to pull the trigger.  I always feel no matter what I do the guy I get will go bust or hurt lol.  Right now riding with D cook, J Taylor, A Gibson, and D Henderson.  Positioned to be ok for when my byes come up so I don't think I want to move any.  Rbs are tough to fill.

Notable Sale: Raw 2018 Topps Allen and Ginter Mini Gold Border - October 11, 2021 - $510

https://www.ebay.com/itm/284473128519

curious why a PSA 10 one asking only 1k went with no bids given the price this raw one went for.

If the raw one was in great condition possibly a 10 it's worth buying raw and playing the grade gamble for much cheaper. Also some peoe could care less on grades especially if the raws are somewhere around an 8-10.  Some like to just have a copy so half price for a good piece is worth it.

Guys am quite curious to know what is your favorite token/coins in your portfolio at the moment.
As we are all aware of the current altcoin surge with lots of new NFTs and Defi projects that are changing the phase of the altcoin market.

Bitcoin isn't that a foregone conclusion.  If any other coin is at the top of your list you are destined to lose your stack.  It's happened for years fads come and go but when the dust settles good ol honey badger is still there rising up.  Toy with alts, but invest in bitcoin that's the ticket.
Well we are just the same.
I don't have much time searching which better altcoins, so I decided to stick to the bitcoin and give my 100% to my portfolio on this coin. Before I invested in an altcoin that I thought it gives me a good ROI but unfortunately, the price was stack and it is not grown even bitcoin pumped too much and that is XRP. This scenario give me the courage to stick to bitcoin no matter what and look at it now, it boosted too much the price and I think it will break the previous ATH.

Smart.  In the end bitcoin always prevails.  There will be a bear market and when it comes it's gonna be nasty.  So many new people who have never seen one will get wiped out.  This process happens over and over every couple years.  People get too greedy following fads and end up getting caught.  Oh well can't teach em all.
3694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: October 14, 2021, 10:52:13 PM
Regarding the Nets, I doubt that Durant and Harden will be able to reach the final series if Irving doesn't change his mind about vaccination.

Kyrie Irving is a big piece, no doubt about that, but to think that Nets won't stand a chance to reach the Finals without Kyrie, I disagree with that. Compare to other teams in the Eastern Conference, they still have the best roster to consider.

In Eastern Conference as always, we will see close competition to at least 4-5 teams. The top teams are always meeting at the end. Different from Western Conference where competition is really tough down to 10th to 12th spot.

Agreed, they have a solid team with or with out kyrie.  Yeah Bucks Def gonna challenge them, if they stay healthy even without KY they are the hands down glfav in the east.  They are gonna feast on the bottom half all year.  They could legibly break the ppg record the way they play.  Now if beard or kd go down then they are right in the middle of the pack.
3695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: October 14, 2021, 10:49:26 PM
Next week will be brutal, i've 17 players in both forum leagues that are either injured or on BYE. Needless to say, i can't afford to drop any games in Week 6, and it all starts with Jalen Hurts (who i prefer over Dak). The Buccaneers are missing a linebacker, Winfield Jr., and have the league's worst pass defense. Let me cherrypick a few stats:

Bucs
Quote
Opponent Completions per Game - 32.8 (32)
Opponent Completion Percentage - 72.89% (29)
Opponent Passing Yards per Game - 314.4 (32)
Opponent Passing First Down Percentage 75.00% (32)
source: https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl

Quez Watkins and DeVonta Smith are going to feast on that terrible Bucs secondary, i could see one of them (if not both) finish with 100+ yards and a TD.

Here's my two game/player props:

Eagles over 0.5 FG; Eagles +14.5; Eagles O16.5 pts @1.88
Hurts 1+ pass TD; Gainwell 10+ rec yards; Watkins 30+ rec yards @1.85

@Hueristic, sorry for the trade request, i like Mitchell but it's Herbert szn, kid looks great and is likely to get 20+ carries vs GB.  Smiley

What was the trade request?  And dak isn't a bad option he always is a possible 4 td guy per game.  I actually don't think much of the eagles passing game.  Hurts is detrimental.  In ff he might get you some points with his feet, but I don't see them blowing up.  Bucs d is only bad because they can play soft knowing Brady boy will save them.
3696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Dogecoin survive without Elon Musk? on: October 14, 2021, 08:47:05 PM
I think that Dogecoin would definitely survive without Elon Musk. For example, it is already surviving while Elon Musk is not doing anything to show his support for it. And by the way, Dogecoin was already surviving before Elon Musk started a big hype about it for the first time. The price was of course not this big but it was able to survive in the end. It was just no more than a meme coin, that's all.

It was barely alive if you think elon isn't a huge factor here you are kidding yourself.  What else does doge have or do that every other coin can't?  Aren't they still trying to implement segwit which was like a 2016 thing lol.  No one is working on doge and it's reliant on all bitcoin upgrades for them to keep.up.  it's a joke clone coin that's it, period.

It's funny. I thought earlier that the Nets and Lakers to be the main contenders for the title this season. However, both teams have some problems at the moment. The Lakers don't look like favorites after a terrible performance during preseason. Regarding the Nets, I doubt that Durant and Harden will be able to reach the final series if Irving doesn't change his mind about vaccination.

I agree that the Lakers will have their issues but please don't watch preseason and think it's indicative of how the season will playoout.  They are probably working on new rotations, new plays etc.  Once the season starts it will be wildly different.  I haven't looked at previous season stats but if you looked I'm sure crap teams did great in preseason and great teams have had lots of losses.  Don't truly judge until around 1/4 of the season is over.
3699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: October 14, 2021, 08:40:11 PM
Where are the odds for NFL regular season MVP and rookie of the year be found? It was everywhere last season, however, it appears not a cryptospace sportsbook have them available. They do not want us to bet Josh Allen hehehe. Also, who is a good tight end who can score a minimum of 5 fantasy points?

Ypu can find them on a ton a sportsbooks. I don't play the props so I don't know which ones but I know people play them a ton.  And yeah Josh Allen is definately going to be up there.  Brady gonna be fighting forvp too, 15 tds to 2 int in the first 5 games...and he still gets to play the giants Smiley  and as far as tight ends on the area at this point its a crap chute with them.  Hot or miss outside the top tight ends.

This is an interesting topic because "experts" seem to be all over the place when it comes to who they believe is the frontrunner for the MVP.  I think Josh Allen is personally, but Brady, Murray, Herbert and to a lesser extent Stafford and Dak also have some claim to being in that conversation.  One guy I am not putting on my list is Lamar Jackson.  He's my qb in our btalk league, and I love how he's been playing, but this past game was the first game he threw for more than 1 TD.  There are a couple QBs with twice as many as him.  Sure they don't have the rushing yards he has, but still.  There are some "experts" out there saying he is the unquestioned MVP frontrunner...couldn't disagree more.

Thing with Lamar is he is working with nothing.  Had 3 top running backs out for the season so essentially is working with new backs mid season and he has completely taken over games like the last one.  I agree he might not win it but he is on pace right now to throw for 5,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards which would be the first time in history.  It's known they like to run so he won't get the glorious td marks that a Brady will get.  He has to be top 5 right now no?
3700  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Dogecoin survive without Elon Musk? on: October 13, 2021, 10:03:41 PM
Try to look at Dogecoin at a time when it was not yet known to Elon Musk, did Dogecoin experience something that made him die ? because I have never encountered any problems with Dogecoin since it was born into cryptocurrency in 2013, but why do some people only see Dogecoin through Elon Musk ?, even though Dogecoin has been in cryptocurrency for a very long time

You cannot blame them. The same that a lot of people only knew Bitcoin through some influencer,,, like McAfee a lot of people admitted they bought it first because of him. Some even I remember got into crypto because of Silk Road.

Doge is a memecoin so in a way,,, it is appropriate for memes and funny stuff to bring it into people's awareness.

I guess it does not matter and should not!

Apples and oranges, question is if elon leaves or denounces doge it definately will drop, if a bitcoin influencer denounced bitcoin it wouldn't do anything.  Doge is so reliant on elon tweeting setting dumb about it and then it pumps.  Without elon doge is what it was meant to be, a joke.
