I think that Kyrie will definitely come around, just give him some time.
He is known to be a bit idiosyncratic, and this is not the first time that he's pulled something like this.
But at the end of the day he will be out of literally hundreds of millions of dollars and he isn't stupid. Same deal with Simmons.
He would probably start playing in the regular season, but his attitude is unacceptable, it's not anymore professional, he and his team are bound into a contract and I don't think the organization has not done their part, it was only Irving who think he is the real superstar and has a lot of conditions that he wants to be granted.

His main problem is his ego and pride. He always wanted to be more important than anyone else. He tend to just stick to what he believes and is very stubborn in changing his perspective. Now, I guess it's just too stupid to sacrifice his career over his pride by not taking the vaccine. Well, we have our own choices, but Kyrie's attitude is just too annoying and every NBA fan must also be annoyed by his childish attitude.

Irving's problem started when he is paired with a star player in a team, back when he was still the lone star player on the Cavaliers, we don't hear a lot of issues regarding him and his team. But, when Lebron played with them (which obviously bron is the main man), his real character showed up and that's the reason why he left the Cavaliers for Boston Celtics, and he was supposed to be doing well but still, he does not fit with the team, until he arrives with the Nets with the same problem.

They might trade him, or like Ben he will get deducted sums of money for not participating in the Nets game. Kyrie still owns the Nets for singing a contract, and the Nets deserves something in return for Kyrie's services.
He also has a card for that. "I will retire if they trade me." I don't think that he still has the ace in his sleeve here, Nets can call his bluff anytime, if he wanted to retire so be it. But I don't think he will be even in the ballot of a HOF in the future because of his antics and drama. He has supposed to partnered with Kyrie to make a Nets championship caliber, but with his attitude now, might be a wrong decision by anyone, to pair with him. Lucky Celtics, they have dumped him before this whole covid-19 pandemic. They should have been the one who has the headache right now.

He always wanted to be the alpha on the team, and that's what we saw in Cavs. He try to proved in again in Celtics, yet I would say that during that time, he didn't get the respect of his team mates. Not sure about the reasons, maybe it was his personality or something. Now with the Nets, similar issues have arise, he became now an issue instead of the one who will solved the problem of Nets by helping them achieved a common goal with Durant and Harden. I guess it's better for him to retire.

Boston management sees how hardheaded he is, that's why they allow the trade. The best decision that the team did before the whole pandemic, if they are the one who's handling him now maybe it's more difficult, Celtics is also one of those respective franchises the chance that the argument between Kyrie's camp and Boston will be more vocal. Unlike with the Nets, who still trying to convince Kyrie to work and to consider all the options that will favor both sides.

He might stayed long enough with the Cavs but correct me if I'm wrong but after he got his championship with LeBron, his ego went up. He created dramas like this. He wants attention always by making this kind of problems and shitstuffs. Now he has this "Retire" card. I don't even know why the Nets aren't trying to trade him. He is an egoistic player that doesn't want to vaccine for personal reasons. He'd rather lose huge amounts of money and not help his teammates just for the sake of him not being vaccinated. What kind of attitude is that? Celtics are lucky indeed that they traded him and now the Nets are having a problem with his attitudes. After the Ben Simmons saga, we have another saga again - the Kyrie Irving saga. I will be waiting for the next move of the Nets with this. Will they trade him or will they just let Kyrie not play in their home games.

Add the Pepsi Cola advertisement and Uncle Drew movie. It's like everything went on how he wanted it to happen but the end part is now blurry with all this stunts that he is making. I am a fan and will always be whenever he performs at his best on the basketball floor. But outside that is a different story. Now he has this "Retire" card. Yes, there's a hint of being selfish on this act that's unpleasing to everyone, the Nets management, the team and especially the fans. Have he ever considered thinking about young fans that are looking forward to see him play? Those who idolizes him and even bought jerseys with his name and even the expensive shoes named after him. They are waiting and expecting a blast since 3 of the Nets stars will be healthy this season.

He is good but he can never win a championship without the help of a player that has the same status as his, now, the Cleveland Cavaliers are struggling, maybe if he gets traded to this team, he can dictate what he like but he needs to prove that he is a good leader by bringing the team to the playoffs.

That would not happen as no team would accept him if he remains to have that kind of attitude, he will end up with the Nets and if he will not cooperate, he would just sit in the entire season. I think Durant and Harden are enough for the Nets to win a championship. Last season during the regular season, Durant and Harden already had chemistry, so if both will remain healthy in the regular season and postseason, I would still trust them to win against the defending champion.

I believe 100% that Kyrie will get the shot. He said many times that he is not against the vaccine itself and he is only against the fact that there are mandates and people are losing jobs for not getting the vaccination and he believes that's wrong. I believe that not getting the vaccination and dying while also making everyone around you sick and causing the world so much trouble that you would be willing to not get the vaccination and cause death and suffering is a worse outcome than losing your job.
So, I am in 100% full support for anyone who doesn't get the vaxx to be fired, we need people to get it so that we can go back to the world we used to live in. However Kyrie will get it as soon as he realizes he will not be playing while he watches others do. All of this "this is not me retiring" and "I am not against the vaccination" stuff are just path for him to change his stance later on.

Even, he is now wanting to get vaccinated and this can't be tolerated. being a public figure and showing this kind of arrogance should be punished. I strongly feel that he should get traded unless the Nets will do a huge loss. I think that he should be punished by the NBA federation for not getting the vaccine. I don't know if he said anything about not getting vaccinated but I cannot think of a single valid reason for not getting vaccinated.

It's funny. I thought earlier that the Nets and Lakers to be the main contenders for the title this season. However, both teams have some problems at the moment. The Lakers don't look like favorites after a terrible performance during preseason. Regarding the Nets, I doubt that Durant and Harden will be able to reach the final series if Irving doesn't change his mind about vaccination.

...The Lakers don't look like favorites after a terrible performance during preseason. They made a lot of changes so this is to be expected. They will continue to struggle early in the regular season. Regarding the Nets, I doubt that Durant and Harden will be able to reach the final series if Irving doesn't change his mind about vaccination. Veteran guards like Patty Mills could provide what Nets will miss from Kyrie. Maybe not the same numbers but enough to support their two main players.

I agree that the Lakers will have their issues but please don't watch preseason and think it's indicative of how the season will playoout. They are probably working on new rotations, new plays etc. Once the season starts it will be wildly different. I haven't looked at previous season stats but if you looked I'm sure crap teams did great in preseason and great teams have had lots of losses. Don't truly judge until around 1/4 of the season is over.

Kyrie Irving is a big piece, no doubt about that, but to think that Nets won't stand a chance to reach the Finals without Kyrie, I disagree with that. Compare to other teams in the Eastern Conference, they still have the best roster to consider. In Eastern Conference as always, we will see close competition to at least 4-5 teams. The top teams are always meeting at the end. Different from Western Conference where competition is really tough down to 10th to 12th spot.

Yeah Bucks Def gonna challenge them, if they stay healthy even without KY they are the hands down glfav in the east. They are gonna feast on the bottom half all year. They could legibly break the ppg record the way they play. Now if beard or kd go down then they are right in the middle of the pack.

It's too early to say that both teams are not going to make it this season. There are a lot of games, they can be the top seed, or be the eight, but what's important is how they bring their teams in the playoffs. Utah Jazz was the top seed and every one thinks that they can at least make it to the Western conference finals. So anything can still happen, Kyrie thinking of retiring if ever Nets trade him? For sure he might regret that decision.

In other news knicks looking solid. Got good depth this year hopefully they can stay healthy. Got that Christmas game against the Hawks circled. Should be an interesting game knowing how last season ended. I'm sure Randle will be up for that one. Think the Knicks can squeeze a couple more wins than they did last year with this squad (pending kemba can stay off the injury report too often) it's like the Knicks are a graveyard of great guards with past knee issues.

The Lakers don't look like favorites after a terrible performance during preseason. Regarding the Nets, I doubt that Durant and Harden will be able to reach the final series if Irving doesn't change his mind about vaccination.
Don't take it seriously for now. It's just a pre-season. We can form speculation once we see the progress to at least half the season. Regarding Nets won't be able to reach the Finals, who's the other contender in the East that Nets won't stand a chance to win? Heat? Bucks? Bulls? Celtics? Sixers? We can fairly say that the Nets can handle all teams in the East even without the presence of the drama king Kyrie Irving.
