England have started very strongly in second innings and are 86/0. Sibley and Burns have provided them the good platform and England are already leading by 260 runs. They can start batting aggressive from now and try to make a good big lead and ask West Indies to bat and get them all out quickly so that even if rain some overs, England still have chance to get WI all out in remaining time.

In my opinion, Sibley and Burns could have scored runs a bit more aggressively. During the second session today, they were scoring at around 2.5 runs per over. The run rate improved only when Joe Root came to the crease after Dom Sibley got out. Right now they are leading by 314, with nine wickets in hand. I don't know what prevents them from scoring 100-150 runs from the remaining overs today (25 overs remain). If I were the captain, then I would have asked them to score another 120-160 runs from 20 overs and then left 5 overs for West Indies to bat.
3682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Become Negative in Value? on: July 26, 2020, 01:14:09 PM
Oil price was negative for a brief moment as there were no more storage left and the pumps were not turned off to check the demand.
For bitcoin even if the demand plummets, there would be no constrain of storage as miners and any trader can store any amount of bitcoin without any cost and even offline.

Forget about the negative price. I don't think that the price can get near zero, because of the principle of controlled supply. As long as a single user remaining in the market, the price will remain above $0. Is it too much to expect, given that we have more than 100 million users as of now? Even a scam coin such as Bitcoin SV can have a couple of million users. Then what will prevent Bitcoin from having a minimum of a few million traders, even if something catastrophic happens and the value plummets? I would say that the level of $3,000 per coin that was reached in Q1 2019 was the bare minimum. It won't go lower than that.

The decision to not play Stuart Broad by the selectors and the captain Ben Stokes was critical in the first match and they lost and learned a good lesson and his importance in the long format is proved by his performance in the second and now in the third Test. As expected England is batting and they will try to score over 300 runs and with plenty of time left in the match, there is no way West Indies can make a comeback in this match unless there is weather interruption.

Probably they think that Stuart Broad is close to retirement and they wanted to give chance to some of the younger players (such as Jofra Archer, Mark Wood and Chris Woakes). But IMO, Broad has got a raw deal from the selectors for the last few years. Despite being an all rounder, I have seen him batting at the no.11 slot. The younger bowlers on the other hand, are being given a flurry of opportunities, despite their bad form. Jofra Archer is not performing well for almost an year. But even now the English selectors treat him like he is some sort of divine invention.
3684  Economy / Economics / Re: What brings economy of a country down. on: July 26, 2020, 12:53:05 PM
Inflation rate due to many reasons. One of the reason is due to priniting a lot of fiat money. The valuen of fiat depend on the asset, resources and the economy itself to which sum up with a  value of that certain country and then divide among thr number of fiat money. The more fiat money they produce the lesser value or capacity of that money to exchange for goods and services just like China.  China now is one of the richest country yet the value of their money is not that much worth. Due to the high number of fiat currency being printed.

During the last 1-2 decades, the governments around the world have become more and more populist. As a result, they have increased the level of welfare/pension payments and in turn these measures have created a lot of strain on the economy. As you have pointed out, inflation has resulted from the uncontrolled printing of banknotes. During the 2008-09 recession, Ben Bernanke ordered the Federal Reserve to print trillions of USD worth of banknotes. Other countries around the world have also made similar decisions, both in the past and the present.
3685  Economy / Economics / Re: Korea proposes 20% tax on crypto trading starting 2021 on: July 26, 2020, 12:42:02 PM
Well $2k minimum to get taxed is not so low, at least not for many people who live in the countries with much lower paychecks, but I understand that $2k for some people is extremely low.  Anyway we can't do much about this, when government made its mind it's what it is, you can choose to obey or you can choose to skip few regulations and find a way to trade anonymously.
It's interesting to watch S. Korea crypto steps, they are pioneers, they are doing some things for the first time and it will be a good example for others!

It is not an extremely low amount in any country.

$2K is a month's average salary (after tax deduction) in countries such as the United States and Canada. And in South Korea, with $2K you can pay rent for 4-5 months in a city such as Busan or Seoul. Those who want to complain are going to do that. But in my opinion, this is a very good deal for cryptocurrency users in South Korea, especially if you are considering cryptocurrency trading as a part-time profession.
3686  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe’s economy is moving faster than US economy - Covid-19 effect!!! on: July 26, 2020, 12:31:19 PM
Temporary spikes in the stock market can't be interpreted as a sign of economic recovery. Apart from the UK and Germany, the economies within the European continent are not looking really good right now. The other EU nations such as Italy and Spain are surviving, just because of generous help from the German-headed EU. At least when compared to these sinking economies, the United States is in a much better condition. The only concern should be the ballooning federal debt, which seems to have gone crazy.
3687  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Chinese Uighurs - concentration camps, slave labor on: July 26, 2020, 12:21:15 PM
who cares about the uighurs integration into the chinese society depopulates east asia and gives space back to the wild nature.
if no one does something about the muslims they turn their area into an afghanistan or somalia style terrorist shithole.
or a hateful imperialist nation like turkey.

Although I can't agree with your post, I would agree with certain parts.

First of all, the Chinese government claims that they are trying to integrate Muslims in to the national society, by removing harmful foreign influences. And they say that this is the reason why they have banned practises such as fasting on Eid and circumcision.

And then, we can't deny the fact that 100% Muslim nations such as Somalia and Afghanistan remain as some of the most dangerous places on earth. And Turkey has gone from one of the most progressive nations in the world, to one of the most regressive in a matter of two decades.
3688  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: July 26, 2020, 12:11:11 PM
However, in America the presidency is won not because of the popular vote but because of the electoral college. It takes a different type of campaign strategy to win, I reckon.

Electoral college may not be the perfect solution, but it is much better than those popular vote-based elections. It prevents the deep-blue states such as California and New York from stealing the election by allowing uncontrolled invasion of illegal immigrants.

Let's look at an example. In 1950, California had a population of 10.7 million. Back then, Oklahoma's population was 2.2 million. Since then, the population of California increased by almost 4 times, but that of Oklahoma increased by less than 2x. The reason is that California allowed a lot of illegal immigrants to stay. Now Do you want to give more power to California, just because they broke the law and invited the illegals? I am against that idea. And that's why I always say that electoral college-based system is much better when compared to any popular vote based election systems.
3689  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Black Crimes Matter on: July 26, 2020, 12:01:12 PM
Asian people are really hardworking and they will do everything just to go out of poverty. We are taught to make a better future and make a better world for the next generation. Good parenting is where we started that's why we are having a good quality of life after we finished our studies. It is not about the race, it is the environment that will affect you as you grow older. In some countries, a culture where they don't prioritize education will most likely affect their community.

I am 50% Asian, and I would agree. There are a few exceptions, but in general Asian immigrants are very hard working. You can notice this in almost all of the Western nations. On top of that, they tend to commit crimes at a much lower rate, when compared to the general population. Asian immigration (especially that from South Korea, China, India and Philippines) tend to have a positive impact on the host nation, when compared with immigration from countries such as Somalia, Sudan, Albania and El Salvador.

That's the reason why other race are hating black people, it is because of the crime that they commit. But in reality, not all black people are bad, there are a lot of black people who are living in a decent and peaceful life. I'm hoping that all of the human race should understand how love and peace makes a world better.

It is obvious. When a community tries to justify the wrongdoings, rather than attempting to eradicate it, then there will be backlash from the others. For a while, they may get to play the victim card and may even succeed in getting sympathy from others. But this situation will change as time goes on.

I have a doubt regarding one of the conditions. It says "Posts count starts Sunday: 12:00 Noon, ends Saturday: 11:59 AM weekly [Forum time]". So that means that our posts won't get counted, if we make them after Saturday 12:00 Noon (but before Sunday 12:00 Noon)? Such as this post?
3691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: July 25, 2020, 11:49:55 AM
I do not trust surveys after all because not all of it are legit and they are just surveying specific people and not random people. Trump will gonna win in the next election for sure even Joe Biden is leading in online polls and survey because most of the polls and surveys are fixated and controlled by some people or even organization, so basically it is biased. I do not know why there are a lot of American citizens do not appreciate what Trump did in their country.  Trump is really a good leader and in order to proved it, he have a lot of books that been published in the past.

For the past few decades, the opinion polls conducted in various developed nations (including the United States) have proved to be very close to the actual results. What happened in 2016 can be termed as an outlier, but even then the polls indicted that Trump was surging in the rust belt states, during the last few days. But this time, neutral voters have deserted Trump and he retains votes only from his core support group.
3692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 25, 2020, 11:03:13 AM
I am sure Ollie will be able to score his hundred, he only needs 9 runs more. Burns also played well, he gave a good start to England but the middle order was not able to capatalize it. I expected Root to stick to the wicket till the end but he was out for just 17.

He won't get his century today, as he got out to Shannon Gabriel on 91. England has lost 4 wickets while adding 38 runs so far this morning. But then, the 9th wicket partnership between Stuart Broad and Dominic Bess has so far added 20 runs and if they could stay at cease for a little bit longer, then this match will slip out of West Indies's hand. Also, Roach/Gabriel are about to finish their initial spell.
3693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 24, 2020, 07:11:22 AM
Indications are that the England pace attack will consist of Broad, Woakes and Archer. That means that James Anderson and Sam Curran may be dropped for the third test. I would like to include Anderson in the place of Archer, as I have always believed that the latter is too overhyped. His performance was not that satisfactory during the first test as well. On top of that, he have issues with his discipline and that may negatively impact the team bonding.
3694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: July 24, 2020, 06:40:22 AM
What can you expect in these situations?

Mandatory quarantine will claim 14 days and then when will they play? You have to follow the SOP for covid19 to prevent further excalation.

If the other teams can undergo the 14 day quarantine, then what is the problem with the Indian team? Both West Indies and Pakistan teams underwent quarantine after reaching England. Laws remain same for everyone and the BCCI can't claim that they are special and they should be given the exception. The best thing to do is to include more matches, so that the time wasted as a result of quarantine is justified.

It is really a racist to say that blacks are bad because most of them are really good persons where they aim to help. There is a balance in their community but the thing is they keep experiencing racism not only in the U.S but in all over the world. I think it is because in its our society and the idea of racism about blacks passed down through generation to generation. The good thing is the racism is not severe anymore like before but there is a racism and it will took more years for the white people to accept that blacks are good and they are important in our society.

If it is racist to say that blacks are more prone to crime, then it is also racist to say that only blacks suffer from police brutality.

From what I have seen in Bitcointalk and the other forums, people are selective in their usage of statistics. They are very enthusiastic to point out stats which show that a disproportionate number of blacks suffer from police brutality. But they will never show stats such as this one:

Why no one is pointing to the fact that Blacks, who constitute for 13% of the population is accused in 39% of the crimes?

If you want to make use of statistics, then you can't be selective. You can't just show the data that suits your narrative, and hide those which counter your argument.
3698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 💰 Summer Tokyo 2020 💰 Discussion and bet thread 💰 Summer Game 💰 Postponed 21 on: July 23, 2020, 05:45:01 AM
Compared to the other events, Olympics involve a huge number of athletes. For example, the 2016 Olympics (Rio 2016) had a participation of more than 11,000 athletes. Add the support staff and others, and the numbers can easily cross 20,000. Managing this many people is impossible under current circumstances. So unless the pandemic situation is completely under control (hopefully with the invention of a vaccine), it is going to be very risky to hold the Olympic Games.
In the current scenario handling 11000 athletes is an impossible task and the hosting country spends a ton of money for these events and they expect the returns in the form of tourism and it is impossible for anyone to expect that it could even happen one year from now. There are many vaccines on trails and if not for a vaccine there is no way we will see a mega event like this and they will not conduct these huge events without audience.

Vaccine will be available in the market by the end of this year and the Olympics is supposed to start on July 2021. That will give 6-7 months for the Japanese government to vaccinate everyone against the virus. I guess by mid-2021, the situation will get normal. The Olympics can go ahead, and hopefully Japan will witness an increase in the number of tourists who visit that country.
3699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 23, 2020, 05:34:09 AM
Right now tough schedule for England as now they are going to play last test match 24 to 28 July and then just very little time for rest as 30th July they have first ODI against Ireland then they have test series against Pakistan hopefully all goes good for rest of all players.

It is understandable. Because of the COVID 19 pandemic, they want to play as many matches as possible in one go. If you check the schedules, all of the ODIs against Ireland will be played at Southampton. Earlier they were planning three different venues. Similarly, all the 3 tests against West Indies are being played at Manchester and Southampton. They are trying to limit the time window and the travel requirements in order to ensure the safety of the players.

AFAIK, Uighurs are part of islamic community and they have been treated in that way for very long time but now everything is happening for political benefits. Ofcourse we need to oppose such kind of camps and need to set those people free but how it is going to be possible since everything is happening is inside their country only!

What happening in China right now is horrible. I condemn the atrocities, that are directed against ethnic minorities such as the Uighur, Kazakh and Dongxiang. But at the same time, why the Islamic community is silent on the atrocities that are perpetrated against the religious minorities in Islamic countries? Is there is a single Islamic country, where the non-Muslims receive humane treatment? They always go ballistic when Muslims get discriminated in Western nations. But they always remain silent when these incidents happen:
