3722  Other / Meta / Re: Request: Disable merits in the Wall Observer thread on: September 06, 2023, 02:54:16 AM
this is top 77 on the list:

For the record the WO was being trashed by twitter quotes (About 120 days of it) and images that 3 or 4 of the top merit givers were giving merits.

It was an issue.

Do I think they were feeding bots and alts so they could have a dozen signature accounts nope.

Do I think they were being taken advantage of by sleazy  farmers maybe.

I still voted no.

And if you check me you will see I stopped giving the twitter/bots/alts/farmers merits around 90 days may 95 days ago.

3723  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 06, 2023, 02:46:20 AM
I would like to say that I'm extremely happy that the amount of farmers decreased so significantly in the WO recently ...

Does someone know how this fantastic result was achieved?

Whoever did this, I would like to send you a huge THANK YOU for bringing us back this great experience  Kiss

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5464370.0

Which reminds me, please vote in the poll if you haven't already as it ends in a bit more than 24 hours. Looks like "No" is gonna win but its still telling that "Yes" managed to get 38 votes (thus far).

it seems that there are more eyes now on WO, which has scared the merit farmers away a bit. Smiley

It feels like "all these merit farmers" have left the thread but I'm pretty sure it was 1-2 people max running 6-10 different accounts.

I voted no, but I am glad the b.s. stopped. thanks.

A little off topic but I think it was 6 years ago I started having some serious work done on my teeth and Today is the Day I had the LAST Implant installed and its finally done!

6 years without a full set of teeth until today!

Man I have 5 implants more crowns and bridges than I can count and have had so many failed bone grafs nightmare extractions and infections since they started drilling into my skull and snapping bones and shoving cow bones in there and literally having 2 guys with fucking 2 foot long chisels and sledge hammers smashing away on my sinus bones until it snapped in half that I can honestly say I never want to see another oral surgeon for the rest of my fucking life!

A lifetime of smoking can cause so much more damage than just your lungs and I struggle with it every day.

Even though I got drunk and smoked a pack friday I haven't had once since. Smiley

OMG Didn't they knock you out to do the bone work? That sounds barbaric.

Nope, just local makes quite a large CRACK inside your skull when that bone snaps! Cheesy

Its great having all good teeth though isn't it! Cheesy

Fuck dentures, I went without rather than getting those.
*All the ones I've had missing for extended periods were on the backside while the studs were being repaired and such so it couldn't even been seen.

Wow I am lucky. I quit smoking in 1996.
Saved me $$$ and gave me okay health benefits.
I have all my teeth at 66. Three caps. A few fillings one root canal two years ago.

well maybe someone decides to sell some this week.

I have most everything on your list. I have boxes of mixed dates and mint marks though. Not the cheapest quality pieces. I'd take PPFF and payment first.

Cheers

What is PPFF payment ?

I don't know you well so I may place a smaller order first. Then a second order.

I used to like this handle and his tweets used to be informative but lately I have noticed he’s just tweeting nonsense and mostly self praise and promoting his YouTube channel.

Does his claim beat DCA too???

He’s ignoring that bitcoin isn't a get rich quick scheme anymore; now it's a don't get poor slowly strategy.

Well lets see

2012 may is six months early close of may price was 5.14
2012 nov is ½ ing 12.54
2013  is skipped 12 months would be better. than 18 it was 1129 on close
2014 march 18 months 457

so about 89x six months prior to 18 months after.

but over 200x six months prior to 12 months after.

not sure about next two jump ups.

but I will post.

I think this was good .

Jan 31 2016 368 six months before 1/2 ing
July     2016  650 the 1/2 ing
July     2017  2518 12 months past the 1/2 ing 6.8x better
Jan      2018  10,108 18 months past 1/2 ing  27.4x better

so
first 1/2 ing the 12 month after the 1/2 ing sell won.
second 1/2 ing the 18 month after 1/2ing sell won.

Dec 2019 7,194
May 2020 8,672
May 2021  57,714
Nov 2021  61,320

so
first 1/2 ing the 12 month after the 1/2 ing sell won.
second 1/2 ing the 18 month after 1/2ing sell won.
third 1/2 ing the 18 month after 1/2 ing sell won but almost a tie.

Basically his advice is not as accurate as saying

buy 6 months before
sell 12 months after

because the 2103 rally was 200x if you did that.

ie in dollars 1 turned into 200 .

Buy now you are 8 maybe 7 months away 224 days

according to this

3737  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is there anyone who have mining set up with solar panels on: September 04, 2023, 01:51:21 AM
no my solar uses the grid as its battery.
grid tied with zero batteries.

Wait wait I still don't understand is the scenario goes like this.
So you set up a solar panel and then energy from the panel goes to the grid and some of it goes to miner. When night comes the grid owes you energy from the day and you took it at night? Is that right

Well, that is clever   Shocked but in only happen in couple of states in US?

yeah NJ has true net metering.

Ie every k-watt you send to the grid you get back at night.

A list of states with some net metering all vary their deals.

Better fix that bro. Before you get a haiku miscue batslap.

.....
I've never heard that, knew he was a smart guy but didn't know he was that smart! Cheesy

When me and my buddy did a high school "skip day" because "my parents aren't home, and I got wheels!"
We'd hang out/party in his bedroom, do bong hits and listen to Frank Zappa.
Memories...

fixed it.

lets blame my own inabilty to count to five for the error.
3739  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is there anyone who have mining set up with solar panels on: September 03, 2023, 09:17:59 PM
@philipma1957 So you don't use a battery meaning at night your machine will offline?

How much is the cost for solar panel power only for your setup I know that sun is free hahaha but in my country setting up solar panels is expensive including the technician it could lost lot of money, How to break even for solar panel only in days ?

no my solar uses the grid as its battery.

say you do 280 kwatts for 5 hours(this was the average time of full sun)  that is 1400 kwatts in 1 day.

so 280-60 = 220 kwatts on back feed to the grid.

and x 5 = 1100 kwatts owed to me for night time running.

so 1100/19 = 58 kwatts an hour feed back to me by the grid.

basically the system earns me  1400 kwatts a day. it means I could run 19 s19's 24/7/365 for free.

or run 2x that at ½ price. which is what we do.

only a dozen states in USA make net meter the law so those are the states to use solar to mine .

grid tied with zero batteries.
