2821  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 30, 2023, 04:47:02 AM
thank you. I have taken a few iq tests and got really good numbers.

Years ago I thought that meant I was really smart. I now know  us humans are not that clever or smart including myself.

Now if the rest of the world would just admit they are not smart enough to know as well then we could get down to solving extinction type problems rather than killing each other over stupid shit that we will probably never have the capacity to prove.

Thank you very much. I already have the solutions for too many people.

Oral sex and clean water. 😀
2822  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 30, 2023, 04:31:02 AM
Bro I am not wishy washy. The reality is I am smart enough to know I am too stupid to understand my existence.
So I do not give a fuck about believing

in nothing
or god
or reincarnation.

But I let all I meet pick one of the above or pick what I have picked which is I don’t know and I don’t care as  it is above my pay grade.

take the case  maybe I have never been alive thus I can’t die.
or maybe I don’t exist so I already am nothing and nothing is not what I imaged it to be.
or god  just in case he  or she exists i tell him/her to fuck off as he /she killed off my kids.

quite frankly the idea that I am already in a state of perfect nothingness is appealing as it would mean my older thoughts on nothing at all were wrong.

So I go free form and don’t box myself into any common beliefs.

Being smart enough to know your not smart enough if pretty damn smart.

thank you. I have taken a few iq tests and got really good numbers.

2823  Economy / Economics / Re: Recession? How to face It? on: September 30, 2023, 04:26:22 AM
Recession don’t mean anything to you if you have enough passive income from your investments. Having some hard physical cash is important too. If your only cash flow is your pay-job, then you can worry a little bit because if you get fired, you will lose your cash flow but you’ll still have to pay the bills (rent, electricity, water, internet etc…) So you either have to have a side income which is mostly recession-proof or you need to have some cash so you can pay your bills in case of emergency. If you don’t have any if these back up plans then the recession will ruin your life. Alternatively, you can cut down your expenses too. Just unsubscribe from the services you don’t use much.

Yeah income stream is very important. I have some gov. pensions . Some mining income. And lastly a signature campaign here.  I normally don’t do a signature but times are a bit hard so I needed more income.
2824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: September 30, 2023, 03:30:31 AM
There are far more sports betting that is more interesting than horse racing.  We have boxing, MMA, football, and many others that capture the peoples' interest.  I myself don't find horse racing interesting because there is no plot or drama behind this sport unlike in boxing and other sports that tends to create controversies and dramas that take the interest of many people.

Dude I stopped playing them years ago because I was gambling compulsively. But if you pick a horse and it comes from dead last on the far far far outside to win by an inch you will have a very nice rush.

More so than most sports as most hits in the last minute are more common than winning the race I just  described
2825  Other / Meta / Re: How to check post bursting through ninjastic space on: September 30, 2023, 03:23:22 AM
I think it is not possible for someone to make 30 or 50 posts in an hour. A better example of post bursting should be around 10-15 posts per hour which is also going to be a hard thing for many users. I believe that Icopress warns those users who just want to complete their 25 posts limit as soon as possible and some users may post more than 10 to 15 posts per hour in order to complete their weekly minimum posts for a campaign.
It is possible for a person to make 100 posts per hour (if there are no limits, never tried, so don't know if there is any limit in per hour) by making a single line or one word or spamming posts, but you said it is hard to make 10 posts in 1 hour, and you are 100% right, because I made around 10 posts daily, from some time, and I know how hard it is to make 10 posts in only one hour, but if you are active in the local board then you might make it happen but there you can not post consecutively, thus it becomes hard. But if one makes up his mind to make 10 posts in 1 hour then he can easily make it.

And you are right about completing the limit, if one is found doing that, then he or she will be given a comment on the spreadsheet and that will be a warning as well. If that person does not stop doing that then will be removed quickly for not following the rules.

First of all the participants who gets accepted in a campaign never make one line, one word, or spamming posts, because if they do something like that then they won't be accepted in signature campaigns anymore. If I'm not wrong then most of the signature campaigns require constructive posts and a single line or single word post isn't constructive at all.

I'm actually a high poster type of a person and I can say that it's really hard or impossible to make 10 constructive posts within an hour. I make around 5-15 posts a day, sometimes more sometimes less, and I can surely say that making that many posts require a lot of time on forum.

I love to give proper time to forum and also proper time to make those posts. Even in local boards it would be difficult to make 10 constructive posts within an hour. If the posts have anything valuable then such type of posts require some time to make. Even if someone makes his/her mind to make 10 posts per hour then still I believe that will be  really hard or somewhat impossible thing to achieve.

I can do three to five good posts in an hour twice a day but and this is a big but you need to find posts to reply to with a good viable reply. Sometimes you can’t find a topic on the front page of a section say meta economics and bitcoin technical help.
2826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I smell fear... on: September 30, 2023, 03:17:57 AM
I agree that Bitcoin would grow more precious when CBDCs become the main form of currency. The level of privacy and freedom that is afforded to us by cold cash would be gone when a digital fiat replaces it. The government's ability to monitor and control and seize hard cash is limited. The people are left with enough elbow room. They can more or less freely use it even in most illegal transactions. With a CBDC, the government could easily freeze funds, reject transactions, seize wallet balances, and so on.

Exactly.  So if you are fleeing a country you will not be able to take your cash/cbdc with you

and BTC will let you take the coins out.

Now we have a failed beggar nocoiner basement-living incel who found god… Cheesy

…..

Oh (mythical) gawd! Don’t get me started…

what do you like for your god no one?

an atheist or a nihilist.

i am more of an agnostic i am just smart enough to know i simply dont know

That just means you are wishy washy and don't take a stance.
I used to be agnostic.
Now after years of examining the evidence, I am an atheist, but most folks in here already know that if they look at my avatar.
Reason being, when you take a purely scientific, logical standpoint, when debating any godswiller (or agnostic for that matter)
its like shooting fish in a barrel, which is why I don't go there.  dyor (like I have)

So on my commute to work, I was behind this plumber's van.
The back was emblazoned with the company sign...

SINK AND SPOUT

And I was was like, oh that's kind of catchy.
Then it occurred to me that if some dude with a lisp mentioned that company name to me,
I'd be like  "oh I do that all the time (usually after a couple of nips) on this here famous thread, none other than the Wall Observer!" *

GO BITCOIN

*Ok, I know...that joke doesn't quite work, because "spout"  has an "s" also, and goes to "thpout", which ain't a word, but it sounds funny anyway, and I got my daily chuckle.

....I'm always thinking and thpouting...

TGIF WO exchange on driving to work and thinking:

The more "muscular" is my car, the faster and more risky I drive, so I have to constantly tell myself: slow down..slow down...you don't have to overtake that sluggish car ahead, etc, etc
I could only imagine riding a "chopper"-I would probably have crazy acceleration going constantly.
My safest driving is when I use some smaller family cars.
It's kind of weird.

many years ago I wrecked a trans am driving at 125-130 MPH.

I don’t drive fast very much at all after that wreck.

I think I topped a hundred once or twice since then..

If I am on the main highway near me the New Jersey Turnpike I set the cruise at 74 which is 9 miles over the limit.

I have a sonata with a bigger option engine . So it can cruise at 92 on a dry road and feel kind of okay.

Sometimes I drive my partners tesla that car is fast. Monster acceleration and can do 100 with ease.

Mind you driving 100 and getting caught in New Jersey almost always means you get arrested.
2829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: So I got a free laptop and am looking to setup a linux os for a node . on: September 30, 2023, 01:34:09 AM
I have an i7 3rd gen Asus if you wanted to run a node which linux would you put on it?
If I were you, I would install Linux Mint. That OS I tried in the past and very light to running nodes. Apart from that, Linux Mint looks like Windows to me, that enough familiar for a beginner who just learning Linux.

I am a guy that forgot the debian and the unbutu. i used back in 2014 and 2015.

but if mint is easy. i would do it.

The 2tb ssd arrives tomorrow I will drop it in and download either mint or debian.

I will post back tomorrow once it is down loading.
2830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Knowledge vs hodlings on: September 29, 2023, 10:56:04 PM
What you explained is correct. I mean, holding Bitcoin without having at least basic knowledge about it is genuinely scary, as you might encounter alot of problems in the future, one of which is the risk of losing all your funds due to foolish. So what really matters is that before investing even $1 in Bitcoin it's important to acquire a fundamental understanding of how Bitcoin works. What's even more matter is understanding its security aspects and how to secure your assets as effectively as possible.

IMO Holding Bitcoin is no joke, particularly for those who plan to hold it for a long term.

It would become hard if you have a lot and you are under 50.

If you have 10 coins right now are 45 years old and live in the USA it is good money but not life changing.

Now if coins moon to 225k and you have 10 of them you have 2.25 million.

At my age of 66 fuck it cash out the 2.25 million would make my remaining years easy. Combine that and the pensions my wife and I have we will travel and relax.

But at 45 with 2 kids looking to go to college in a few years the 2.25 million cash out move is far less tempting.  Maybe just cash enough to pay for the colleges say 250,000

Except I can not find anything on the internet that shows it really was said or written by trump.

I personally think it is a good quote and would like to really give him some credit for saying it.

Maybe some sone can find where and when he said it.
2832  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: So I got a free laptop and am looking to setup a linux os for a node . on: September 29, 2023, 10:37:22 PM
I should recommend a debian installation, it have a lot of support and a strong comunity. But all depends of you.

I have not done a Debian in years. I will give it a try tomorrow.

Any special things you can think of to keep in mind. I think I will look for the Debian forum and read a bit.
2833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / So I got a free laptop and am looking to setup a linux os for a node . on: September 29, 2023, 10:24:12 PM
So have not setup a linux in a while I went to linux.org and wanted to download a linux

I have an i7 3rd gen Asus if you wanted to run a node which linux would you put on it?

I would drop in a large 2tb ssd and start from scratch.
2834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: September 29, 2023, 10:14:05 PM
Let's keep this as simple as possible and let's not shitpost!

I see thousands of posts about football, a few hundred about other sports, and the rest are just almost non-existent. I'm a gambler myself but I stopped a while ago betting on soccer, all the Nxx in American sports and I'm just betting now and then on horse racing, from one penny at a time to some larger sums in case of a grade 1 event or festival.
But here it seems like there is little interest in this, is that because horse racing is just unpopular or is it because, well,.... the casinos that sponsor most signatures here are not promoting it? So no post quota to make?  Grin My old local gambling forum that covered this is also near death, I'm sitting in the sun 8 hours a day boring myself to death, so here comes feedback next part :

- Do you honestly think running a prediction game (run with my own funds) would attract genuine interest in this and not just shitposting quota?
- Would let's say 1-2 mbtc (per event, about one or two per month) be enough for people here to at least open a few links and take a look at what hoses are running and what their timeform is?
- Is anyone here actually gambling on horse racing?

Honestly, I do not have much trust in horse racing. Perhaps this is due to a tradition of portraying horse races as easily manipulated. But I also do not trust anything that thinks for itself. Gambling is meant to be a pure chance game. With animals, there is a pseudo-chance game since animals can be manipulated in many ways, including drugs and training.

It seems like putting your money on a pre-decided race even though I'm sure there are strict regulations and I am just being paranoid.

Most sports are fixable and lots of fixing happens.

Gambling on sports is meh. I was a long time horse player glad to have stopped playing.

Most sports have a lot fixing.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/35319202

tennis is listed above.

I've made it no secret that I am an United States citizen, and that I also think Donald Trump is a raging Buffon, but what "he" says here I certainly agree with.  However like most things with Donny boy, he didn't write it.  This same type of statement has been stated, said, quoted for countless decades, well before Trump was ever born.  Just like his books, he didn't write this.  This was something he read and stole, like most things.

And honestly, as much as I love to hate on him..this is not my bias speaking here, it's just the truth.

Lastly..I do agree and I do love what I do. It makes life so much better, as I've been on the other side of the coin, and life is miserable if you hate what you do.  Never stop trying to find something you at least like!

I have searched over the net for 20 minutes and can not find that quote anywhere.  With or with out Trumps name attached to it.

Maybe someone can show the exact link to it.

My point is I like the idea of the quote and I wish I could see Donald Duck (Chris Christie's name for him) Attached to it.

Oh here is Chris Christie saying Donald Duck instead of Donald Trump

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFqcensfoOY

so maybe I can see Donald saying these words.
2836  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 29, 2023, 08:15:50 PM
Was about to post in another thread about price predictions/bull run etc, when I thought the last all time high and inflation. Here are the numbers I used, but essentially just taking inflation into consideration with no rise in new money entering the market the next Ath would be $79,844. It gave me pause for thought alot if the predictions threads are guessing 100k to 130k, it seems a bit wimpy to me and not the explosive bull run I hear about so much.

Ath-$69045
Rate of Inflation(annual)- 3.7%
Method Compounding(annual)
Time- 4yrs(eg 2021 -2025)

What do you all think?

clever idea.

I figured that the 2020 to 2021 1/2 ing and bull were great distorted by covid.

the 2015 to 2016 pre build up to the 1/2 ing  we got to 700 usd right before the 2016 1/2 ing this is about 60% of the prior ATH in 2013

so 60% of 69k = about 41.4k toss in a bit of inflation we could be close to 45k in late march .

2016 700 become 20k. = 28.5k

2024 45k becomes ?  1.2825 million

If the 2016/2017 is true and is 2020/2021 is false due to covid and china fucking around with the April runup nov double top.

1,285 million would be impressive indeed

it is my high number pick for next sunup.
2837  Other / Meta / Re: How to check post bursting through ninjastic space on: September 29, 2023, 08:01:52 PM
You should check the time difference between the posts. Let's say I posted here in the forum where the time is e.g. 2:30:20 and then I posted again at 2:35:15 and again at 2:40:30. As you can see, there are 3 posts within 10 mins which it is already considered as posts bursting. You will need to get the user's user ID to check it on ninjastic.space. You may also check the user's post history if you don't want to use the site yet or you may use both at the same time.

Yeah I am thinking that this does not count in my case. As I may do that 4 times in a day and 35 days in a row.

Also my campaign needs 40 posts a week for max payment and last week I posted 122 times.

I did not think it was manual and that it tries to auto detect the posts.

Now I see it may just show 3 in ten and then the campaign guy looks at it. Makes a decision if there are enough good posts made.
2838  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [INFO - DISCUSSION] Compact Block Relay (BIP152) on: September 29, 2023, 05:38:09 PM
So are these being done a lot at the moment? Or is this a future oriented idea?

Seems like it works fairly well I don't see any flaws in the concept.

Already implemented by Bitcoin Core since 2016, see https://bitcoincore.org/en/2016/06/07/compact-blocks-faq/. I also except most/all pool already support it since it allow their mined block propagated faster.

I would love to know the traffic volume of these vs the older style methods.

It appears that this method would be in more use then the original methods.

I did not know they were using this short cut.
2839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is possible to clone Bitcoin? on: September 29, 2023, 03:38:21 PM
It is easy to copy or clone.

But it won't be accepted.

BetterBitcoin sha-256 algo

Start at block 1 on Jan 1 2024

No one will want it.  As it is a simple copy of the original.
2840  Other / Meta / Re: TalkImg.com - Image hosting for BitcoinTalk on: September 29, 2023, 02:23:43 PM
Yeah I resize a lot of images. One thing I find is if I shrink to

2.1-2.4 mb some times it still says too big.

I manually re size to 1600 by 900 which always works.

Of course it is slower.
