Tonight there are a bunch of games but I'm all in on one of them, knicks vs Detroit.  Detroit is terrible and have a couple key guys out including cunningham.  Knicks looked real strong last night as quentin grimes is rounding out the guard rotation.

Knicks -8 all in. (Homer pick coming g from a knick fan Smiley)

Good luck tonight!
3742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 29, 2021, 11:13:12 PM
And even if Lebron won his 6 rings people are still not going to rank him higher though. There could be argument that MJ did it 6 out of 6, Lol.
I'm not sure if he can win 6 rings, he currently has 4 rings and the way Lakers are playing, it's not likely they'll win a ring but they are just likely to get eliminated early.

What's important is for those who have been in basketball to have seen MJ, and then passing the torch to Kobe and now Lebron is carrying the torch. Lebron has surpasses both of them in some statistical numbers I believed and year MJ is still the GOAT. And he can still make another history if our assumptions is right that he is waiting for Bronny to get into the NBA before he can finally retire.
Maybe Lebron can be compared to KO closely but he can never be compared to MJ, the legend will still remain at the top.

I agree with you guys, I just don't see Lebron ever winning 6 titles and even if he does he still isn't a better player than Michael Jordan and never will be.  As a huge lifelong Bulls fan I'm certainly a bit biased, but I'm not completely blinded by it.  Lebron in my opinion is the second best player ever, but he just doesn't have that killer instinct that MJ had.  Also Jordan almost assuredly would have 7 championships had he not retired, if not 8.

That's the difference between him and Lebron and even Kobe because when Kobe retired, he was already not 100% because of his ankle injury while Jordan is still capable of winning, in fact, he came back from retirement but in a different team. We are all biased but majority would certainly pick Jordan over Lebron or Kobe as the GOAT.

Hands down Jordan is better than both of them.  Nobody was more feared in a one game elimination game than against Jordan.  And he played in the 80s and 90s when you couldn't go into the paint without expecting to get an elbow to the chin.  With today's hand checking found Jordan would have taken 20 free throws a game and averaged over 40.  He wrecked the NBA for a decade.  Ask Karl Malone, Ewing, Barkley, reggie, etc etc why they don't have a ring?
3743  Economy / Economics / Re: Mortgage are most wrong financial decision you can make on: December 29, 2021, 11:08:10 PM
Also the rent (at least by me) market is insane.  Some areas you can't even find a place to rent.  And at a certain equilibrium price it's much better to take out a mortgage versus renting.  In my particular situation it is actually cheaper in mortgage than it would be in rent for an equivalent property.  And with a family if the person I'm renting from doesn't renew my lease I would have to pick everything up and move over and over.  *there's no place like home* is a real thing. But again to each there own.

I would say buying a luxury car you can't afford is the worst financial decision you can make, at least properties generally appreciate in value whereas cars diminish until they are scrap.
3744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFL Sportsbet.io discussion & predications thread rev on: December 29, 2021, 06:34:15 PM
Sorry to interrupt the discussions but just read that John Madden's passed away.

Now I know zero about American football (okay maybe this season I've been reading up a little) but even from the 1990s, playing Sega Megadrive (Genesis) or reading UK games mags, you couldn't escape from hearing about the Madden titles. Long before FIFA (or Winning Eleven) churned out their sports titles, you had Madden. The title on those compendium games I just never even bothered to open yet with a face so recognisable.

Hero for any of you guys? Rest in peace, nevertheless, icon.

He wasn't so much of a hero as he was an icon.  He was a legendary Monday night football announcer and was the face and voice of football for such a long time.  And like you said throw in the gaming industry and madden football and you have a legend.  Some people are just bigger than the game itself and madden was one of those guys.

Fun fact, he never flew anywhere because he was claustrophobic, he drove a tricked out bus across the country every week.
3745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why should Gambling be legalized ? on: December 29, 2021, 06:30:49 PM
Time and again we have heard numerous arguments from economists and the government regarding the pros and cons of legalization of the Gambling industry, let us discuss some of them here.
{This does not exclude the cons as well, but let's discuss about the pros here}

What can legalization do for the economy?
- It can definately help the government with high tax revenues which is never Outlooked and this can help with overall economic development of any country for that matters.
- It can help in Job creation as well, since it's a big industry and people would be more engaged
- It can reduce the need for illegal gambling which means they won't have to use illegal methods or whatsoever
- Gambling cannot be controlled, at the end of the day people would find a way therefore it's best if it's regulated by the governmental bodies

There can be other social benefits during the time of Covid where people have to supposedly entertain themselves at their own homes and they won't have to visit casinos in person.

What else do you think could be the benefits ??

Taking away an industry for the organized crime is really important as well, if gambling is legalized then it means that anyone with the necessary funds can create a casino, but if it is illegal then only those that move on the underground world would do so, keeping all of the profits of the industry by themselves without paying taxes and making them even more powerful than they are.

Another benefit is that if gambling is made legal then the games can be regulated and casinos will have no incentive to cheat their customers or they will lose their license, something that is not possible to do if gambling is illegal.

That's exactly it.  If people want to gamble and it's illegal they still Will find a way to gamble.  It funds criminal organizations while not creating revenue streams for governments.  To me its a no brainer.  People with addictive downfalls can also be regulated whereas in an illegal system, they will run people dry and leave em in the gutter.  There are way more pros than cons with this one.
3746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2022 Perspective: My portfolio plan on: December 28, 2021, 12:20:06 AM
NFA, always DYOR. Opinions are mine

1. Public chain : Keep 10% ETH, show respect to the fundamental basis, but I will increase the holds of Luna, Avax, sol, also, don't forget layer 2, my one and only choose will be mattic

2. Metaverse: where the next 1000x coins might be born, but I'm still waiting the real case. the 'top players' at this moment are not real metaverse in my opinion, metaverse is not just about selling land or play 2 earn, it's about the real contact of virtual and reality. I personally value the project Metabase Network, which aims to provide a infrastructure of metaverse.

Dislike Web 3, use wallet address instead email to register can't really change anything, can it?

Where's bitcoin?  A crypto portfolio without bitcoin anywhere in it is misbalanced.  I do like matic too.  I also do believe this metaverse thing will be the 2022 version of 2021s meme coin run.  A couple will probably win out but there will probably be tons of speculative money to be made on these things.  Sad but every year has a new thing that eventually fizzles out.  All pretty much just schemes to get more bitcoin if you ask me.
3747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 28, 2021, 12:15:18 AM
I'm backing the Bulls once more as they'll be facing a struggling Hawks team, the line opened at -5.5 but now that the Hawks announced that Trae Young is playing the line moved down to -3.5 i'm still taking that as the Hawks are still missing a lot of players while the Bulls have most of their key players ready to go. The Bulls have little to no rest as they're on a back to back but the Hawks are struggling to snap their losing streak at home. Not sure if it's a coincidence but all of their wins this month came from road games.

It's an interesting game all of these last minute out or in is killing me lol.  You need to watch the player injuries pretty much up to jump ball.  Has anyone caught any real good lines before players were announced out or in, or on the flip side has anyone been screwd?  I bet on the Hawks the other night not knowing Trae was out and got screwd.  Makes betting to early impossible.

With that being said I like the bulls here too at 3.5
3748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What about the new alts? on: December 27, 2021, 07:57:04 PM
What coins do you think are promising? I think there will soon be a good opportunity to buy alts in the long term, so I am starting to consider options for purchases. Interested in mina, cdt and sand. What do you think of these coins? And what coins do you think are promising?

I like the prospects of helium, HNT.  They are solving a real world problem and have already secured a deal with the town of San Jose to use them as a hot spot provider.  If it works out well I can see a ton of interest and energy in deploying their platform as well.  Think this has some legs to 5x-10x from here.
3749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 27, 2021, 07:53:42 PM
There is a lot of money on the Nets, which makes me think this is a trap game.  Nets are without a ton of players too.  Hard to say how the game will go knowing it will basically be a bunch of backups running the floor.  With Durant out I'm actually thinking of taking the Clippers to cover.
3750  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc ath february 2022 on: December 27, 2021, 07:51:01 PM
One thing is for sure when it comes down to finances and money investment then wall street is what is most important.
And im not educated but i have connections and experinces that average JOE can only dream about.
As my social circle is wall street guys i know the info.
And wall street told me btc will be ath  100,000$ next year february.
You guys not been good but its a christmas i make little gift to you as you will know when its a bull run now.

Wall Street guys don't know how to predict the market.  Besides, based on what glaring information is bitcoin gonna double within the next couple of weeks.  Everyone is a genius when they throw out future dates and price targets.  Half the peoe are always right by default and they think that they have an inate ability to predict crypto futures.  It's all a crapshoot.  I can say bitcoin will be higher at some point in the future.  When that is or how much is unknown lol.
3751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 27, 2021, 07:48:13 PM
There was a very great and competitive game between really close teams last night: Los Angeles Clippers v Denver Nuggets. And the final score also showed this to us as Nuggets won by 103-100 away. I admired especially the third quarter performance of Clippers. They scored nearly double the points Nuggets scored. And I think that the player of the game was definitely Jokic. He got 26 points, 22 rebounds, 8 assists. What a performance! Clippers really felt the absence of Paul George.

That's just it the Clippers without pg will struggle.  I wasn't a huge pg fan but the guy is the core of that team.  Jokic is the player of the game in usually every game.  Dude is silky smooth for a big man, definately a tough matchup for any opposing big man.  His court vision is insane, love the guys game.
3752  Economy / Economics / Re: Mortgage are most wrong financial decision you can make on: December 27, 2021, 05:37:07 PM
Lets do the little calculation why
You buy house or apartment with total 300,000$
You have to put down payment of 15-30k ...wich is all ready bad.
With this 15-30k you can make more money in 1-2 years by investing it  on gold stock IPO usually 5x-10x return of good ipo if u buy before listing.

With crypto u can make easy one year 100k of this if you divide this money small percentages. And buying  dips of btc and some othet good coins.

But if you put money down on mortgage that big and it takes 20-30 years to pay back mortgage well the chnages are u never going to pay off this also you put your capital wich has a lot good ways to use just giving away your hard earned money.

Mortgage without high rate and without downpayment even not smart but with downpayment no right in their mind will never do that.

You better rent if you can afford downpayment the money u r willing to put down for the downpayment  u can live one year in decent apartment and you have money free to use.

Second thing is it smart to buy property ?
Only smart is you want to let and making profit out of it.

But to be smart with money you can buy items only wich not exeeds your 2%  then you stay in preospeurs state in your life.

How do i know its time to buy or sell ?
Its so simple if dollar strong.....you sell dollar.
And buy back weaker dollar to get cheaper dollars.

If inflation hitting hard its a top on markets so no goestions about it you sell everything if inflation going lower you buy everything.

Do not worry about something you sold at the ATH and it keep going higher after this its a " overbought" the fools trick. The price will come down sooner or later make sure u sell at green all gold real estate stocks and crypto.

As we see so many easy opportunities to use money smart to but it down on mortgage payment its a clearly wrong doing with ur finances and waste of money.

If you put down payment on mortgage its money you just trhow away and never gona see it.

You can run numbers all you want but there is intrinsic value in holding a mortgage.  If you don't have enough money  on hand to buy a house and have a family, there is value in putting your family in a permanent home that you can do what you want there.  That's why most people choose to get a mortgage, not just based on numbers.

Spurs on their way to 8th seed by the looks of it, three wins in a row! That's great to see from them, I expected them to be better by next year but they are showing how they are still good even this year. I know that most people talk about the top teams and how they are good and when I talk about the 10th team in west as good some of you may feel weird.

However, as a person who had a chance of 20 years in a row dominant team, having a team that is not dominant at all was a weird feeling of love. I mean we never really had to say "I was a fan during bad days too", even Lakers fans had that but Spurs never had it until a few years ago when Kawhi left. On contrast, Lakers look like they are closer to 10th seed nowadays Cheesy. I mean not to be happy about it but I would say I rather see Spurs in playoffs than Lakers if that's what we got.

Yeah the Spurs tanked one year while they had David Robinson and landed Tim Duncan in the draft.  Nailed the parket and Manu picks and it was a good decade or 2 of the Spurs being in every game/series.  I'm surprised how decent they are right now but in the end I still don't see them making the playoffs, if they do as a 9/10 seed.

Oh it's on. I will fight to the end to make sure I don't lose this match by more than 100 points.

I'd have to score 100 points for you to lose by 100 😅.  I was in another league with some folks here this year and the same thing.  Team completely fltlined.  Had tyreke hill and he gets 20 something yards recieing.  And Robinson from Jax went out injured after 10 yards.  Roll in dalvin Cook getting sidelined and poof year over.

Next 2 weeks ima rip it up though!!

Hello,
2022 is the time to buy or sell? If it is time to buy, then which coins or tokens?

Thank you.

Make it easy on yourself and don't try to time the market.  If you think whatever coin you are holding will end up higher (at some point) just keep dollar cost averaging in.  That way you don't go all in on the top if the market does come down.  You get to reduce your cost basis for your portfolio.  Don't try to time the market.
3756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you actually using/buying NFT's, and Gaming Tokens? on: December 27, 2021, 05:18:46 PM
There is a big hype for all NFT & Gaming Tokens these days, I wonder how many person can actually say they own any art forms under, same for Game tokens.

I am sure there are way more buyers of the tokens than there are users!

Another fad.  I mean yeah it will have some use but the price (and gas) people are paying for nfts can't be sustained.  People are buying them speculative hoping they can sell them for more.  It's not really being used as a "collector" thing.  Once the market gets completely diluted prices will come back to earth.

Maddogs are the first team to reach the championship game/s, Temptations are holding a strong lead with only a few minutes remaining and will almost certainly be the second team to reach the finals.

Moon Coiners and The Interwebz wheelz have to, unfortunately, meet for 3rd-4th place match, after dominating throughout the regular season they both came short in the semis.

Taco and Psychotics will square off for the bragging rights to be the 5th best team in the league, i repeat Psychotics will not finish last... Shocked  Tongue

Cows and Mars Elon Muks have to determine who will finish last.

^ not final but 99% probability...

Who watched the Jaguars and Jets game? A 100-yard kickoff return touchdown, a 300-pound OL touchdown following a Lawrence fumble, and a 50-yard rushing touchdown by Zack Wilson. Lol, i'm not making this up, it has to be the strangest first-half action i've ever seen... NFL Redzone updates, i did not watch the entire thing, i'm not crazy.  Grin

Yeah my team was brutal over the last 2 weeks.  Worst 2 weeks of the year in points for me.  That's how the ff cookie crumbles!  Good luck to the finalists, moon corners it's all for bragging rights now!  Lol
3758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: December 24, 2021, 07:26:00 PM
I don't know how the ESPN leagues work either.  If we have twelve teams next year, will we automatically have one elimination round in the playoffs?  Does the league allow making changes like that?  Will it allow us to have the final game on week 17?

I was playing around with custom league settings and it seems quite flexible. You can choose the length of the regular season and the number/length of playoff rounds, among many other things. With 12 teams you can have 2 or 3 divisions for example, and set up playoff byes/wildcards accordingly.

I would suggest to keep it simple though and not get too crazy, but if the preference is to not use week 17/18 then we would have to either make playoff matches 1 week long (might be too harsh), or shorten the regular season. For example with 12 teams you can probably make it 11 weeks and play each team once. There are also double-header options but that seems a bit weird (you play two teams at the same time). Maybe it would work on non-bye weeks. We'll have the long and boring off-season to figure this out.
It is funny, the season is not over yet and we are already thinking about the next FF league.

The first thing we need know is how big the league will be, I think it is pretty much a given that at minimum next year we will have 10 teams, with the possibility of reaching 12 teams if the demand is high.

In the case of a 10 Team League we could create 2 divisions of 5 with the members of the same division facing each other twice, as it is the case in the NFL, so the regular season will end on week 13, if only 4 teams move to the playoffs then we could use a 2 week period for each matchup and the League would end on week 17, or we could allow 6 teams to move to the playoffs with the top 2 teams having a BYE week and the league ending on week 16.

Also it could be interesting to change the order of the tie breakers, the current order while it is the most straightforward also takes some fun out of the game, it could be more interesting for head-to-head matchups to be the first tie breaker as it is the case in the NFL as well.

But as you say we have a long time to discuss this and find some common ground.

I am already thinking about my leagues next year since I’ve sadly been out of the playoff picture for quite some time now.  My recommendations for your league next year would first start at not using ESPN. When I first started playing FF I used ESPN. It was by far the best platform, but it’s since fallen off. Yahoo which I used to hate has definitely taken over as the better option. It’s much more smooth both website and app wise. I hear NFL.com is decent and I know the hardcore players love using Sleeper, which I believe is ultra customizable. I used to always avoid doing 3 rounds in the playoffs since it cut the leagues regular seasons games short at 14 weeks since there was only 17 weeks until this year and you never want to play the final week due to how many players get sat for rest since their teams are already in the playoffs. But now that there are 18 weeks I kinda like the 3 round playoffs.  Either way I’d love to join y’all next year.

I agree with chi.  Personally I like yahoo, much more seemless experience.  And definately not count the last week as part of the final since besides covid, some teams arbitrarily sit their star players.  And teams that are out sometimes let rookies play and get some field time.  Has been a great season it's been a very competitive league we got here.  Are we raising it to a 10 or 12 man league next year?

Surprised no-one grabbed Jeff Wilson Jr.

I blame San Frans O coordinator for that loss!

Why the fuck wasn't kittle involved?Huh?

They just used him for blocking, Morons.

Tennessee was a bad matchup for him.  He was td dependent (which he did get).  Not a big Wilson fan for ff, could get 1 point or 20 lol.  And yeah saints are down to their 4th, I think Alvin Kamara will be there backup lol.  I imagine if it came to be they would run every down and just play power football like the Pats did in buffalo.
