3741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: November 02, 2017, 08:15:16 AM
My D3 Nov 1-15th miner has shipped. As stated in a previous post I'm pretty sure mine was the last of this batch in that due to a fluke
of a conversation and a buddy refreshing page...for giggles as we talked...I got one 1.5 hours after the auction wrapped up ....

Anyway, pretty sure I'm the last of this batch. Just an FYI.
3742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: November 02, 2017, 08:12:09 AM
Looks like I was sent a bunch of APW5's instead of APW3++'s. I guess it's considered a free upgrade because it supposedly can handle much more than the 1600W that the APW3++ can.

That's very nice!

Again, imho, I'd only run ONE PSU of any Bitmain flavor to ONE ASIC device....why chance it? Better safe than sorry. Anyway, my advice on PSU's blowing up since 2013 (its a gift) Smiley

3743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: November 02, 2017, 08:07:39 AM
I've contacted the European customers centre back in November 2014 and then they already said that Alpha is claiming bankruptcy so they can not do anything. Sad

Greed is a terrible sin and it has costed me alot of money.

Do we have any institutions for that type.of scam people?
Or police~interpol? To hunt.down these robbers.of our money?!?!

There are some debt collector that you can approach. They usually ask for a portion of the money they can recover.

See previous posts in this thread..they are protected by incorporating as alpha-tech... thus you can't collect from a corp that is likely by this time filed bankruptcy....the
personal funds they made are protected..thus they imho, scammed millions of $$$ in BTC out of this...previous in the thread it is stated they went from UK to India..unsure if
that is true....

again, same thing as BFL ....the corporation took the loss

also, again. people tried that route of debt collection in this thread previously, to my knowledge no one had any sucess ....I think cc refunds were the only real method of
compliance and usually they were like mine...with some kinda hook to allow cc company to comply......

3744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Litecoin from 11/1/17 to 5/1/18. What I'm betting on Price/Diff/Accumulation. on: November 02, 2017, 07:46:52 AM
my strategy...ie I've mined LTC since Nov 2014...I currently have like 7500mh of scrypt pow miners on prohashing paying out in LTC.

Lifetime I made about 15,000 LTC.

Like 99.99999% of everyone back in the day of easy diff and LTC I xfered most of it to BTC and/or expences/elec/equip

thus LTC has not failed me...I failed LTC...

to be fair, it would have been quite the long shot bet on keeping all the LTC and having faith it would pump from 1.80 in 2015 and 4.15 this year to over $50....but there you have it

thus my strategy on BTC civil war/forsks is as follows....I assume (after expenses..knc titans going doorstop out of my hash, elec/rent/etc) that I may manage to get to 1,000 LTC again say by May 1st 2018 with current difficulty climbs. (this is pessmistic view...likely would get more)

IF BTC continues to be at say 6-7k or above....I find it hard to believe LTC will not be at least $100 to $150 (again pessimstic) and/or $300 or more...

IF BTC dumps with a so called NORMAL correction of 30% in price from say 6K .to 4K.than I also would see LTC acting in its historical manner and being $100 to $150 pessimistic....and/or $300 or so....

IF LTC does NOT pump above $100 bucks in the difficulty cycle above from now till say May 1st 2018.with either of the above.....than that means a BTC fork like Bitcoin Cash/and or other BTC forks have basically killed off scrypt pow alt coins and mining and thus
LTC and other ALTS of any flavor are toast anyway...they have been replaced in adoption and use....and ALTS have faded......add pow scrypt difficulty to this and all mining of pow scrypt will die and we will go pow scrypt mining wise to the alt coin graveyard.....the gap in value would be too much ....alts would be dust coin in comparison to bitcoin forks in value and use....anyway all other alts would go tthe way of x11 mining...vs price and difficutly...exactly no where...

(anyone remember scrypt-N?)

So anyway, that is my bet....run my scrypt pow out and save as much LTC as possible...and I can save it ALL w/o tax up to $40k in a solo 401k as my crypto is a home biz.....and or other stuff like elec/equip/rent also can be taken off of gross income mining....Ideally, I can come away next year with 1,000 clear LTC after expenses taxes etc..and see...

As I say "hopefully'?

I have BTC also ...so if it pumps to $10k so at that price you'd surely think that LTC would be ..what...$300 bucks or so?
Surely, $100 to $150 is not too far to hope? $300 even looks do'able...

Anyway, that is my bet to run my scrypt pow on a pessimistic frame of mind with difficulty..no matter the price that will not change and you will get diminishing returns of actual LTC..thus the bet....with coin per day/month made mining LTC
dimishing .this is my run to the goal line...

Again, if BTC pumps ... a person should be OK...if BTC dumps....a person should be OK.....holding LTC....(if the past
is any indication)

You all can come back and beat me up on this post around May 1st 2018......but that is my bet on this from again
a pessimistic view and expectations on price and return and of course Bitmain continuing to dominate 90% of all asic markets being scrypt-pow/sha-256/or x11 into 2018 as a monoply.....and pumping crap out like toasters till my May 1st 2018 guess....destroying difficulty of any ASIC miner flavor above...

(who knows...I have a strategy..it is all about 'ego protection' ..thus my plan)

Later

Searing

Please consider taking the poll on this thread also.

Please also post your strategies on any method you may be using from now to May 1st 2018....we all might learn something outside of our niche....

3748  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 02, 2017, 01:48:54 AM
Its not confidence in alts, its confidence in whales my friend. When btc take a break, they can earn money with alts, x10 in btc is harder than x40 in alts.
We are old, we know it

Indeed, but there comes a point where it's an emperor's new clothes situation. A two billion dollar Dash is just about convincing enough to the mugs on exchanges without needing to actually achieve anything.

Ten or twenty billion dollars does kind of need a little bit of a reason to justify itself or you wind up with everyone thinking 'hang on' and then it all collapses. Maybe I'm now a man out of time but I don't see how much further you can take pure hot air.

I"m in this long term. I am .how should I say this? Boring as heck.....thus no real reason to pull any of my HODL BTC out ....

I SUSPECT what will happen is ...or could......BTC could hit 10k on the segwit2+2mb fork hype...and whatever the outcome (likely a draw)

the price would rapidly go back 1/3

However, I have no skills on guessing such stuff..thus I HODL..if I had been guessing such stuff I'd have sold at at about 4.5k and be crying right now

so...let BTC have its fun in the sun and go up and adjust

imho, AN ATH WILL ALWAYS BE EXCEEDED AS LONG AS BTC (or a stock of a company say) EXISTS....IT MAY TAKE 2 MONTHS TO BEAT THE ATH OR 10 YEARS

BUT CONTINUED EXISTANCE AND ADOPTION OF BITCOIN (or say the company product or stock) INTO THE FUTURE...EVEN WITH INFLATION ASSURES THE ATH WILL BE BEAT! (again imho)

so, if we get ADOPTION IN MASS, all is well...if not ...well, they say in life you are supposed to plant a tree, write a book, make a fortune/lose a fortune....well

all I need to do now is write a book....(likely a diary of tears if this all goes tulips) ah well, just think of the great nursing home stories I can tell in the commons.....

30 years from now! (eventually if lucky, we all end up there with a toothbrush, ratty robe and slippers....stories will be the currency of choice in the nursing home

and BTC is a doozy..no matter how if fans out)

3749  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 02, 2017, 01:33:15 AM

True ..but if BTC was around 1k in Jan of this year and now dumps back to 3k will I really, really be sorry?

Sure...

will i stop holding NOPE

I mean 3x profit is unheard of on the stock market....

thus it is all good this year...come what may Smiley

p.s. the dang thread won't let me vote a lambo ....I'm bummed....
3750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Order Batch 1 Now! on: November 02, 2017, 01:21:32 AM
Btc was like 600 back then.

Fck

I did a pre-order on the smaller unit....was like $600 or probably like 2 or so BTC also at that point in time..hell...probably 4

Amex did refund me after the MORE than 90 day period...because I lost the 1st dispute pointed out in the 2nd dispute I filed..on alpha tech made a lie and said I paid in full

I pointed out that this was also a pre-order to Amex and only paid partial..they were NOT amused and paid me on the spot...one does not lie to AMEX!

thus got lucky

I assume if I got on the alpha-tech site they would still be saying

SOON!

yep....they got away easily with MILLIONS of dollars if they simply held..probably let the alpha-tech corp take the fall

butterfly labs did the same thing in 2014-2015....the main founder was fined 14k or so.....the bfl corp took the fall

the main owners/etc again walked away with probably 100's of millions of BTC if they held to todays prices

crime pays I guess

$6545 - I can’t believe it, it only feels like yesterday I was ecstatic when we breached $1000 for the 1st time again after Gox’s false ATH (Willybot induced).

I remember doing a victory dance in front of my Mrs (with clothes on) when we hit 1000. I think after 2k I went numb and desensitised to the price. It doesn't seem real it's that crazy. Soon we will be talking 10s of thousands. If you don't just speculate and look into what we have actually got into so early you'll agree.

Wait until everyone else realises.

Bolded bit - It’s how I’ve become, it just doesn’t seem real any more. Every time we go up another $1000 my ‘target price’ to realise life dreams change if you get what I mean.

the mental tricks of thinking of it as tulip/fairydust/mystical/unicorn money is getting a bit harder as a 'self-delusion' method to HODL however....

good thing I'm boring as hell.....if I ever got a life and a gold digger girlfriend all would be lost...

edit: JHC it is $6553 on Coinbase!

3752  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 01, 2017, 09:56:46 AM
6370+. I was thinking: When it was 1k or so a year ago I couldn't have imagined it would go up by a factor of five.

Now I wonder if it will go up by another factor of 5 to 30k. Not unbelievable.

C

If it does my life will change more than I could ever imagine.

You may even have to move up your retirement several years, like now.    Tongue

Go RETIRE!!!!

Get your ass on a beach somewhere and start sipping pina colatas, dammit!!!!    Angry        Cheesy Cheesy    Wink

I'm down to 3 days week working....(11 hr shifts work with the dev disabled....over 30hrs is FT)

So I have 4 days to sit around and look at my house not getting fixed...it does not want to seem to want to fix itself..and I have no real desire to do so....

thus why retire...so I can look at it 7 days a week?

(having a bit of a conceptual problem on how this whole retirerment thing works it seems)

Yep...those 3 more Bitmain L3+'s are now more than 2x more expensive. FML. I need Litecoin to tag along like usual...if lucky that will also pump to $200.

(hey a guy can dream more than one dream)

3756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 01, 2017, 09:37:29 AM
The bicoin gold is a fork of bitcoin cash, but no one knows what will happen next date they said. Maybe it is the another altcoin that bitcoin made the price will increase again but no one knows.

BTG is NOT a fork of BCH. It is not a fork (hard-fork) of anything, it's a new blockchain.

Bitcoin Gold is not a fork of Bitcoin Cash. If it was, it should not have affected Bitcoin itself because Bitcoin Cash is now running on its own apart from Bitcoin. Anyway, if Bitcoin Gold cannot be considered a hard-fork of Bitcoin, I guess it can still fall within a fork classification. Perhaps a soft fork or a mere copy of Bitcoin.

The term fork is misused here.  BTG is a separate blockchain, not a fork. It is merely being distributed in proportion to the BTC chain at a snapshot date.

Confusion may be caused by another common reference : A Crypto based on the prgram code of a forerunner is sometimes termed a 'fork' of the codebase.

What is the need for 'replay protection' if it is gonna use another protocol? I don't get it?

Anyone want to explain what I'm missing?

On a side note: We are gonna see a crap load of forks of BTC imho, why make an ALT from scratch, when you can call it a bitcoin fork for more crypto street cred?

The new way to flood the market with spam/scam/alt coins

Good morning gentlemen!

Another day, another ATH. This bitcoin thing was a really good idea to invest in all those yewrs ago wasn’t it  Grin Cheesy

As I sit here and contemplate the above and see the price now is $6,496.84 usd, I realize how lame it is to sit and watch this unfold to $6,500.00 usd.

On the other hand if the exotic dancers at the local establishment we're to see how much BTC I have..my life would 'liven up' considerably....

so yeah....getting in at 2013 ...having my bank in 2013 when I did a BTC xfer contact the SEC (no sh*t BTC was evil in 2013) ...I also had a plumber

come to my basement in 2013 and ask about what my KNC miners were...I said Bitcoin miners, he said that is for drugs right? He never has ever returned

my  calls....

ah, the good old days when I was a newbie koolaid drinker...and everyone was having an 'intervention' because they said I was in a cult ...and BTC would never work

fun times

edit: $6,497.33 usd ...go baby go...
3759  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 01, 2017, 09:22:52 AM

Well....as of this time it is $6489.15 usd for one BTC.

sheesh....

looks like I'm gonna lurk a bit just to see if it breaks $6500.00 for sh*ts and giggles....

They lied...that is 2018 real time prices!.......they obviously want to buy it in 2018 and double their money in 2020

or why the hell else would you build a time machine and contact you? (I mean time machines are a major investment like crypto miners)

thus its a trap...resist..this obvious low ball offer
