3761  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Interview with the CEO of bitmain on: September 08, 2015, 04:06:03 AM
Hahh, thats pretty interesting.
I have mixed feeling about the AntRouter. (I don't see why "That's the product that people wanted).
I don't how high density, super loud miners are "Home oriented". Sure the size is convenient, but the noise is unreal. China's typical households must be really loud or something. Tongue

And now looks like the S6 was "not offered"... so they kept it all to themselves? Tongue

And S9 will be on 16nm it seems.

3762  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should Bitmain make a Q7? on: September 08, 2015, 03:57:06 AM
But the AntRouter isint really a worthy miner. Its like a single chip running on 1-2W. Maybe it would run as a plug and play node, which in itself could be of a certain use but that seem pretty much like it. 8-15ghs isint worth fawning over.

A quiet S5/S7 on the other, now that sound nice.
3763  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Need help with my Antminer S5s on: September 08, 2015, 03:36:40 AM
So I did leave everything else blank. Is this my problem?? I am still running into the same issue. Could it be a problem with my router?

You need to setup the mask and gateway if you use static IP. Its easier to just use DHCP, go to your router, setup static lease. Done.
3764  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: September 08, 2015, 03:33:22 AM
If you're that desperate for small income for your time. Try signature campaign. That earn you at least some real pocket change.
3765  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Solo Mining on an S3 with 51.1 Difficulty - here we go! UPDATE: Block Found!! on: September 08, 2015, 03:21:23 AM
In the CK Solo pool, how do you know when you've hit a block?  25 Btc in your wallet?

You can also monitor the pool's thread or your miner's status. Maybe there's a way to get a mail notification but you'll have to ask in ck pool solo's thread.
3766  Economy / Economics / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar Soon? on: September 08, 2015, 02:51:48 AM
Bitcoin can never replace dollar because of
1.Its limited supply.
2.Anyone,with right hardware and knowledge, can create bitcoin

Hmm yeah. No.

The limited supply is not a problem at all. It is a misconception, in truth; You have a supply of 2 100 000 000 000 000 satoshi, and more decimals can be added.
Its method of creation and protection is secure, a lot more secure than fiat.

The biggest thing that prevent it from being adopted is Governments. Since they can't print/control it at will, its not fit for a government that which to control its currency.
3767  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [SIDEHACK STICK] Official sales thread for everywhere not already covered on: September 08, 2015, 02:46:30 AM
Edit: Thanks for the update Sidehack. You do amazing work. Smiley

I have the same one new in the box as well I would think that will work just fine

It will, some retailer here sell 5A psu to go along with those Oricon 10 slot usb 2.0. I'm not sure how the stock PSU will deal at 100% load 24/7 and you wont have headroom for OC, etc. But unless you have 9-10 sticks, this isint a problem.
3768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your first bitcoins came from.. (faucets aside) on: September 08, 2015, 02:40:29 AM
I was able to mine enough LTC with GPU back then to get my first BTC. Which was nice since at the time BTC was still at 600$ and each GPU was earning a few $ a day. Hahhh good old time.
3769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you used Bitcoin as Real money to buy Real/physical goods? on: September 07, 2015, 11:55:08 PM
Buying on newegg, tigerdirect, gmg, humble bundle really make anything game and hardware related a cinch to get. I went and got free shipping subscription and bam. I can buy piece by piece at any convenient time without the need to bundle things to not get raped on shipping fee. Smiley

Which site did you get the subscription for? Is it like Amazon Prime?

Newegg. Its called premier. Its the same thing yes, although it doesn't apply to international shipping, pretty much like on Amazon to an extent. You get access to some specials sometimes. But there's no err. "Get X for free instead of Free 2 days shipping." Also its 3 days shipping guaranteed. Even though it was 2 days so far.
3770  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S5 - Underclock - Undervolt - Best J/GH on: September 07, 2015, 11:50:57 PM
DPS-600 has a current share pin so You can connect them in parallel to S5.
10.5 V 40A should be enought for undervolted/clocked S5.
Small DPS fans stay quiet when power is low and You still have a under 40$ power source.
Maxed DPS fans have a very annoying high tone whine.

I have 3 S1 undervolted with DPS-600s as livingroom heaters 40db at 1m.

Like RichBC said (dejavu), at 10.5V it support 200W~, not the full rating from when it's ran at 12V. So you'd need two for a S5. For a S3 and a S1 its plenty.
3771  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Mtgo tix on: September 07, 2015, 08:35:15 PM
People must be getting confused because they haven't realized yet Mtgox was the kid's "Magic the Gathering Online eXchange" domain name that he used for his btc exchange.

Hmm need something better, this is nearly the same as just running the S5 on stock settings on a Platinum or such PSU. Thanks for testing that unit.
Maybe two units would work, one per PCB?

At 200w you'd need to go down to 9.5v~ iirc thats around where the power drain is under 200w and is about the same hashrate as a S3.
3774  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S1 support and OverClocking thread on: September 07, 2015, 07:35:02 PM
On the controller board. Under where the PCB cables are.

But normally you login to your router, go to leases and check which IP its connected to. Typically leave it to DHCP, then on your router set a static lease. Static IP is a bit Iffy.

Yes please do. Consider it a Vouch copy or something! I'll do a unboxing and a review!
3776  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Constant Dropping of one Board Antminer S5! (ALL of THEM) on: September 07, 2015, 03:12:36 PM
Yes, i think so too. Smiley

I am also under the impression it happens to many people without them being aware of it. Many have the mentality; "It works for me so you're doing something wrong." without really understanding the issue.
3777  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Constant Dropping of one Board Antminer S5! (ALL of THEM) on: September 07, 2015, 02:10:41 PM

That's the one im using in all my miners, tried smiths firmware too. nicehash firmware too.

I have the exact same "problem" i decided to just ignore it as overall its 2-3ghs loss;

I posted about this in several places and got a few replies but nothing helpful. I can sum it up to people posting the same 101 troubleshooting suggestions and a handful of others saying they have the same problem.

It still happen once or twice a day. Its the top blade if you look at it in the webserver in miner status.

It look like a sharp dip in the pool's graph everytime;

Typically only last 2-3 minutes.

Edit: My S5 is batch 7 (used from bitmain) on the latest PCB.
3778  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Cgminer reporting for solo mining on: September 07, 2015, 01:48:29 PM
Cgminer ( ver 4.9.0 ) never says accepted, it only tells me the block height changes.  If I turn on verbose, I get lots of "share above target" notifications and an occasional Hashrate report ( same information that is in the header ).  I am hashing at about 50 GH/s with an Antminer U3 so I am sure it needs to be optimized, however, I  have seen it peak around 65 when I was mining in a pool.

My question is this:  Is this reporting normal?  I have tried to find a post about what solo reporting looks like online, but have not been able to find anything.  I am okay with it not providing the information, as long as it is mining.

Cgminer is happy with the set-up ( no reported errors ) but not very informative..

Thanks,

Storm

You can try mining at http://solo.ckpool.org/ to see if its setup properly. If so then yes you're fine but you should consider staying in a solo mining pool for the benefits.
3779  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Need help with my Antminer S5s on: September 07, 2015, 01:38:27 PM
The best way for me to setup my Antminer was to leave it to DHCP and setup static lease on my router. That way you're not trying to shove settings up the "chain of command" and everything is happy.
3780  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: PreOrder the new 100Ph/s miner "MooN" for only 2999,- USD and get one free! on: September 07, 2015, 01:15:30 PM
Does it bother anyone else even slightly that the display on the cardboard joke unit is the same exact as the display on the 'Yesminers' site?

What are the chances the two are related?

Hmmmm...

The chances are high - in fact I suspect that the "Yesminer M20" is nothing but a re-labeled "MooN"

Don't insult the MooN. The Yesminer is nothing but a pretty 3D rendered image. The MooN is real! And we all know that ducttape is what hold the universe together. So it definitively make sense for it to be used as construction material for something strong.

After all i use it on many of my miners to make them better!
