7KG for 450GH at 480W before PSU I'm assuming AND 65dB? My my...I'm so proud of my SP10 now!

I'm interested to know what kind of fan this uses and if it will be replaceable with a quieter fan.

lol @ noise being a decisional factor.

Good one.
382  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Why is BITMAIN selling used products ? on: June 11, 2014, 07:50:08 PM
I have purchased many miners from Bitmain, S1 and S2. Never has one appeared to have seen any use. In fact, they were so clean and unscarred I wondered if they had even been functionally tested. But I have yet to have ever had a DOA or failure of any kind.
Indeed, same experience. But perhaps the last miners that they sold for 0,4xx BTC where used in BITMAIN's farm...

Thanks to the people who posted their opinion is this thread. Appreciated even if you disagree.

Looked exactly like this, maybe a little worse (picture from another user with the same experience as me).

Didnt take my own pictures, i had other things going on and its not like i had recourse.

384  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer s1 power supply help needed! on: June 10, 2014, 06:04:41 PM
you need 500w single rail.

Try it, if the miner under performs or don't start, it does not work.

Oki, but can i use 8pin to something?

You'll need to modify the wires if you only have 1x 6pin PCIE plug

1) Does it matter? The warranty provided is the same
2) Dust can build up very, very quickly.

Yes it does matter.

The warranty is a joke, who are you laughing at here ??
There were months of buildup dust in there. Saying that this could be done in days is plain retarded.

Does it matter if i spit in your soup ? Tastes the same, looks the same, smells the same,  wont make you sick, your meal is as nutritive etc. I believe it matters no?

Plus last i heard selling used products as new product is illegal.
388  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Why is BITMAIN selling used products ? on: June 10, 2014, 01:49:49 PM
It's called Quality Check burning...

Quality check for 3 months + ? From the amount of crap that was in there i estimate to at least 3-4 months of using.

And do you mean that my other ants that were new were not quality checked ?

This excuse is beyond retarded. Please...
389  Bitcoin / Hardware / Why is BITMAIN selling used products ? on: June 10, 2014, 01:39:21 PM
Recently bought many antminers and 29% of them were obviously used.

PCB's, fan, aluminum heatsink were full of dust. I had to air pressure clean the heatsink and big chunks of dirt came out.

How can a big name like BITMAIN do this (from my reading, i am far from being the only one).

Is it an ancient Chinese tradition to sell used stuff as new ?  Tongue
390  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S1 small Wifi issue on: June 10, 2014, 02:18:45 AM
Well, for the record, this can be fixed by setting the WAN to DHCP.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner on: June 10, 2014, 02:17:53 AM
Wait... are you telling me that the most obvious scrypt asic preorder scam is actually... a SCAM ?

NOW WAY !
392  Bitcoin / Mining support / Antminer S1 small Wifi issue on: June 08, 2014, 11:37:37 PM
Hello, i got my ants to work on wifi without any issue.

BUT

When i reboot it does not beep or hash. It just sits there.

Then i have to plug the ethernet cable i used to configure them and it starts hashing. Then i remove the cable and it switch on wifi by itself and hash.

TL;DR version: Why do i have to plug the ethernet caqble for the wifi to kick in ?
393  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PSU on: May 31, 2014, 11:25:59 PM
single rail 500w will suffice i believe.
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.6 HARDFORK MANDATORY UPDATE on: May 31, 2014, 02:20:23 PM
Doge is dead.

Volume in circulation is way too big considering the lowest denomination of the bitcoin that is the satoshi.

Volume is so huge it will hit 1 satoshi in no time if there is a panic sell.
395  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Looks like bitmain is doing everything to give us trouble on: May 26, 2014, 01:50:43 AM
For domestic and personal usage. No business or commercial use here buddy.

A business is an organization involved in the trade of goods, services, or both to consumers.

Also, i did not know declaring over the actual value was by the book.
396  Bitcoin / Hardware / Looks like bitmain is doing everything to give us trouble on: May 26, 2014, 01:45:55 AM
CANADA

So i order 10 Antminers.

Now UPS is holding the packages because the customs are arguing that this is a for commercial use.
They want me to register for a commercial business import account (for taxes and legal obligations etc) and the bullshit goes on and goes on.

WHY THE HELL DOES BITMAIN:

-Mention BITCOIN everywhere on the package/slips/whatever
-Ships every miner in individual boxes (so they see how many units your order is vs 1 big box)
-Declares over the USD value (yay taxes)

Would it be that hard to ship in a single plain big brown box, mention computer hardware and declare its actual value... WOULD THAT BE HARD ?

The Canadian customs obviously received a memo on Bitcoin, they know exactly whats what.

397  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PSU for ANT-Miner S1s on: May 26, 2014, 01:36:20 AM
Not sure about these DIY power supplies.

If you get a fire with this kind of shady setup good luck with your insurance company.

If you have regular/factory PSU's and hardware you are safer IMO.

Personally, using Corsair/Seasonic PSU's.
