DopeCoin's opportunity and original mission is to gain value by being the go-to coin for the already thriving million dollar marketplace that made Bitcoin what it is today.

That is where the focus of this new development team should be aimed in my opinion.

3 exchanges, a month of pre warning and a contingency plan for any late to swap so that no one gets left behind is about as good as it gets.

Try to keep in mind that you cannot please everyone all the time and there will be a couple that are not happy with your actions no matter what road you take. But let me just say once again... You did a great job here man.

I'll try to give you a hand here during this transitional period and provide a bit of insight into the upcoming gameplan as well as discuss the previous events over the last year.

When DopeCoin was originally created it was my intention to create a better option for the already thriving underground marketplace that used digital currencies in the hundreds of millions for the purchase of drugs online. My intention was not to enter into a new marketplace (legalized MMJ) and to try and not only educate the general population, but to also get them to begin using crypto currencies as part of they're daily life.

That plan always seemed too big for one man to accomplish and also seemed like it's ability to be accomplished was still much to early.

We saw Potcoin attempt to create this scenario with some big backend funding and some great ideas such as fiat to Potcoin atm machines, massive exposure in Colorado not only on the radio but also at this worlds Cannabis Cup.
The result.... Less than spectacular.

The simple fact of the matter is that although it is a wonderful idea and something that I fully support, I still believe that it is premature. The general public is not yet ready.

Will this change over time? Yes it will

Somehow we got caught up in this race to become the dominant go to currency for legalized MMJ when realistically we should of not wavered form our original gameplan. It's time we revisit that gameplan and make the necessary adjustments needed to provide an option to an already thriving marketplace of crypto currency users. Users that are already well educated and comfortable making crypto transactions and do so on a regular basis.

With that being said, are we still in the running for legalize MMJ purchases, absolutely!

I just wanted to clarify some of the misconceptions that are currently being stated as fact by some.
This is a long term project and something that will require alot of work. Communities make projects like this successful more so than the developers themselves.

I appreciate your passion for crypto currencies but you should really consider how you publicly represent yourself.
I'm not looking to pick a fight, and I do appreciate constructive criticism, but jumping in this thread and talking smack on a regular basis will never get you the results you are looking for.

I think you have made a wise choice with regards to the future direction of the coin and I believe this is what most of the community was hoping to hear.
I will be here to support you on the backend as always and look forward to the long road ahead.

DopeCoin is one of the few remaining unmoderated threads within this particular altcoin category. And yes not everything is sunshine and rainbows.
This allows for some very real discussions to take place with some true crypto pioneers! Unfortunately it also allows for alot of childish behavior.

Try your best to take the negativity with a grain of  salt and don't let it weigh too heavily on your mind. This is a lesson I only learned after taking a step back from the driver's seat and reflecting on the past.

Attempting to respond and justify your actions to certain individuals can become a full time job and it used to seem like I was baby sitting some of the worlds nastiest and most ungrateful little brats.

You will quickly come to realize that the trolls will announce that every success DopeCoin has will simply be a pump and dump in progress and every price drop will be directly due to the utter stupidity and incompetence of the development team.

You do not owe this community anything and you most certainly do not work for them.

Great news, thanks for the update bud.

It's nearly impossible to please everyone with respects to this project. When we first started DopeCoin we poured in a tremendous amount of effort and time, working day and night to bring value to the coin. Now that we have taken a few weeks to breath we have sadly set ourselves up for criticism.

I must admit though that I really needed some time to take care of other obligations in my life that I had neglected during DopeCoin's startup months.

For those of you that can understand this situation I thank you for your consideration.  But as I mentioned before, it is impossible to please everyone.

DopeCoin was never intended to be a quick flip that would get people rich within a few months and rather is more of a long term play that absolutely does require the rest of the main stream world to get more involved in decentralized currencies. Additionally the key to success with this project is mainstream use from a large marketplace. Which has not yet happened as well.

Small promotional events, and marketing gimmicks have not provided the intended results we were hoping for and it is now time to get back to the fundamental aspects that will make this project a success.

We have a tremendous amount of infrastructure in place and the foundation has been laid to promote future growth while providing resources and activities for our small user base.

Patience is a virtue my friends, please bare with me through this process.

The fact of the matter is that I have financially invested more into DopeCoin than the current marketcap even illustrates as well as countless hours. It has been a relief to take a step back for a couple of weeks as I deal with other obligations. The main technical dev is still on vacation at the moment and we will be taking a look at some new solutions when he returns in about a weeks time.

Hope that calms some folks down. If anyone has any ideas or developments that they would like to contribute I would very much be interested to hear them. That doesn't include you Placebo.

This coin's success is dependent on a large user base like silkroad for example using it on a daily basis, that is simply the bottom line.
We do have plans to achieve that and will keep to our schedule of releasing the new technology by the end of the 2nd quarter of 2014 as originally stated on the www.dopecoin.com website since it's launch.

We have heard the communities concerns and will be addressing them in an appropriate manner shortly. Your patience (to those of you that have displayed it) is much appreciated.

I have not abandoned the project or sold 1 DopeCoin ever!! But like I previously mentioned, I have some important things going on in my personal life at the moment that I am addressing. One of our main dev's is on vacation as well for the next 2 weeks and we will be re-visiting this project in the very near future.

This coin is not your property or your personal project designed to make you profit.
You have your hand in several IPO scam style coins and have asked me several times to invest in your ventures, which I declined every time.

You have been trying to switch this coin to every new algo that comes out simply so that you can individually profit with no real regard for the longevity of this project.

Like I mentioned before I have been extremely busy with other aspects of my life including a death in the family and have put DopeCoin on the back burner for a couple of weeks. This project does not earn me a paycheck or take care of my family. I don't work for you, owe you anything, or answer to you in any way shape or form.

You really need to back off and honestly.... get a life man, go focus on your scam coins.

The coin is not dead guys by any means. It just requires some more hard work to get us where we need to be.
The anonymizer technology will be a game changer for this currency as well as entering into our original marketplace.
This is not one of those get rich quick schemes but rather something that was supposed to mature over time. My original gameplan was to have the coin mixer up no later than the end of the 2nd quarter of 2014 and to expect strong worldwide use and valuation by 2015.

I and others involved with the project have put in tremendous amounts of time and effort in order to provide our community with the faetures and infrastructure needed to thrive. In order to accomplish that, long hours were required by all involved and I personally put other areas of my life on hold to work on DopeCoin.

I am now just getting caught up with my day job and family based obligations and will spend more time and money on DopeCoin to get us to where we need to be. But please also keep in mind that I have other obligations in life, including earning a paycheck and taking care of my family.

I appreciate your understanding in this matter. Alot of time, money and effort has been poured into this project and the original plan is still a top priority of mine. If DopeCoin was the bread winner in my life and provided myself and my family with the financial aspect that is required to live, all of my efforts would remain there. But the fact is simply that I have not made any money whatsoever off of this project and have other obligations that I must also tend to. I am still trying to find the correct balance in order to handle everything on my plate in the best possible fashion.

You bring up a good point.

This coin requires the coin mixing technology in order to provide our marketplace with the untrackable solution that they are looking for. The core of the infrastructure is in place, now it is just a matter of finalizing that one key element and getting DopeCoin into the same marketplaces that made Bitcoin what it is today.
