Greet Boneeee Good point. It is hard to get everyone on the same page so was hoping to just be in chat all 24 hours and when people show up then they show up. But, clearly that didn't work!

Thanks to everyone who gave some good feedback and input! I plan on holding one of these once a week to keep the community in touch and hear what you like and don't like . It seems a good way to be transparent and make sure we do it right! Onward and forward! thanks!

Any updates?
Yeah! The phase 1 and phase 2 technical improvements have been assessed by the lead developer of Altcoin.Center so we now have a rather clear picture of the amount of work and time it will take to implement them. Stage one enhancements, that have to do with the actual coin algorithms (Kimoto Gravity Well, PoW => PoW/PoS hybrid etc), are going to take less than a week to implement, including extensive enough testing. Stage two additions (such as coin mixing, anonymous chat with self-destructing / time limited messages etc.) are quite a lot more challenging and will probably require several weeks. Please note, that it will take at least couple of weeks until our dev team can start the coding. Our hands are totally full with work related to the recent launch of Altcoin.Center, and while DOPE is my personal priority #1, I too will have to get the basic services of A.C running steadily before I can fully immerse myself into DOPE stuff. Even though there is a short delay until we can concentrate solely on DOPE 2.0, everything that happens meanwhile is also going to boost DOPE in many ways. We have a really wonderful, stable and secure hosting ground for a number of services DOPE will benefit from, such as the [global] possibility to buy DOPE with SMS.

I like how DOPE is working to get DOPER. What about coin dilution? Will the spec be changed ? So many coins.

We're working on that. While final decisions have not yet been made, it seems quite possible that DOPE 2.0 will include "dilution moderation" as pioneered by YACoin; https://www.yacoin.org/tech.html- Jyri -- Altcoin.Center

What about a coin algo change to cryptonote? That would be innovative.

Definitely worth considering. We're going through all the options, possibly and probably coming up with a synthesis consisting of a number of "the best" out there - as well as a handful of magic of our own... Thanks for this tip - please keep the comments coming! The apparent silence is just an illusion... - Jyri -- Altcoin.Center

I'm curious about what advantage cryptonote would have for DOPE. I've never made a transaction with cryptonote outside the exchange but I know to withdrawal you need some payment id. Would that add a layer of unnecessary complexity to making transactions in the real world at a dispensary or even on the streets?
I personally see nothing wrong with good old scrypt with maybe some Tor or something. Maybe take a look at what StealthCoin is doing.

I do lean towards your points of view on this, tripppn. However, I do not wish to exclude any possibilities too early. I'm a (sometimes ridiculously;) thorough guy and have a modus operandi of investigating all options before making decisions - including unlikely and even crazy ones. Due to this habit of looking into all directions before choosing the one(s) to move to, some tend to make the misjudgement that I don't know where I'm going. The truth is quite the opposite; I just keep my senses open to all possibilities and am always ready to question my previous conclusions, should there be new information that gives me the reason to do so. The world in general appears to have some difficulties making a distinction between leadership and dictatorship. If a person lacks the signs of a dictator, i.e. the habit of announcing ultimatums regardless of whether or not he or she actually knows what he is doing, then this can be interpreted as a sign of weakness or indecisiveness. Sadly, the opposite is also true: no matter how ungrounded the decisions are, if they are made and expressed in a Stalin like manner, it's often enough to convince the masses that "we should/must follow him". It's a mad world we're living in. Hopefully we'll be able to make it a bit better by the power of DOPE. - Jyri -- Altcoin.Center
