Can I confirm: if I create a 2 of 3 multi-sig paper storage wallet, do I need the Master Public Key of all three accounts to access the funds again? Or can I do it with just 2 of the 3 seeds?
I believe you need all 3 master public keys to generate the same set of addresses but you will only need two signatures / private keys in order to access the funds.

I have an older version - downloaded about 3 months ago. Should I upgrade and download a new version of my wallet? I still have the seed of the old one.
Yes, it is recommended to use the latest version which includes bug fixes and features. You shouldn't even need to recreate the wallet with the seed as the new version should be compatible with your existing wallets. If you ever have any issues the seed is always compatible with newer versions as well.

Yep, you should be fine. You can also view your addresses on the Addresses tab. You may have to select this via Wallet -> Addresses or by pressing Ctrl-A first. This tab shows around 20 addresses or so at a time by default.
I normally just select an unused address from my addresses tab without using the Receive tab when I want to receive coins. Although using the Receive tab could be better for privacy as previously mentioned so that you aren't providing the same address for multiple payments.

I tried a clean uninstall (including removal of Electrum folder) and a reinstall. Same issue. I then looked through all open issues in Electrum GitHub, and found this: "Silent crash on Windows7 if path to AppData\Roaming\Electrum contains national characters" ( https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/2376) It appears the cause may be that my user name contains a national character, i.e. the Danish letter "æ" (a+e ligature). Apparently this causes Electrum to crash silently. I made a comment on the issue - hopefully the bug will be fixed. Meanwhile, I can run the portable version of Electrum, since this will allow me to start in any folder, not just my home folder. Thanks for your help. Interesting bug, but that definitely seems like it is the issue. It would be nice if it was possible to start Electrum in a debug mode or similar that allows outputting errors/crashes to a log file which could be useful for diagnosing issues like this when they appear.

You are so right, thank you for the link. The Private Key needed to be uncompressed, and in fact Electrum recognized it; however the problem is the HD wallet does not support Sweeping so I'll have to create a non-HD Standard wallet to complete the procedure.
Thanks for the tip! Keep up the good path!
HD wallets should be able to sweep as that should just be moving the coins to your current wallet. You can't directly import the address unless you have a non-HD wallet, but you should be able to sweep regardless.

With a paper wallet with a piece of black paper taped over the private key, you will need to physically touch the paper wallet in order to access the private key. With a NFC tag, you will only need to be in close proximity to the NFC tag, so putting it in a safe may not protect your money depending on available technology.
Sounds like he planned to encrypt the key with a password as well which would help prevent unauthorized access in that manner. Although, you would have to remember the password or you would lose access to the funds. You also have to worry about the security of the device you are using to write to the NFC tags. If you are using an offline machine, this shouldn't be an issue. The added benefit of using NFC tags is that you wouldn't need to worry about your printer caching a copy of the printed paper wallet which some do.

Giving up gambling is not that easy, because every user could have experienced random wins. This will easily Keep the user active though he have lost big when calculated as a whole all about the events in which the user has participated for a long time.
Exactly but gambling is habit and research has it that if you repeat the same issues hinge for six consecutive times or more I becomes a habit, we form habits and can chang the hem by forming contrary habits that will keep you away from the previous one that's why as an addicted gambler allyou need to don't s to form a contrary habit that will keep you away from gambling before you can overcome Yeah, it can be hard to find another habit to replace gambling with and many other things don't bring the same rush that gambling does. What types of activities have people had success using as a replacement?

That is a pretty optimistic looking curve there. I'm not sure I see that much growth happening in such a short time.

Additionally, if you know one of the addresses that should be in the wallet, try going to the console of Electrum and typing This will show if the address exists in this wallet. If it says true, there are other possible reasons you might not be seeing your coins such as the gap limit.

Yeah, I'd say the most important part is ensuring that you know how to properly secure your coins.
Be sure to read up on the links provided above as those are a great starting point. Reading and exploring on your own are the best ways to learn.

How strong should a passphrase aka 25th word to seed be to protect against brute force attack from random thief?
I use a minimum of 12 characters up to a max of over 20 depending on what to secure. U can also use password managers such as keepass, last pass, one password, etc... They can help you generate very secure random passwords to make life easier. Yeah, I definitely recommend using a password manager so that you can ensure you use a strong password. This also allows you to never reuse a password which is one of things that gets people in trouble due to site leaks and such. If you are talking about seed words for a wallet, you will want to ensure that those words are totally random. Its best to let these be assigned to you and not to specify your own as humans aren't very random.

I wonder how difficult it would be to make one of these... Or hack / reverse engineer one. Without knowing the answer to that question, I wouldn't be too quick to buy any old random hardware wallet from an untrusted supplier.
Probably isn't too likely that something like this would occur but still best to buy it from the official source just in case I think.

When I select
wallet>private keys>sweep
Window opens & I paste private key from paper wallet - but the "sweep" button does not highlight, stays inactive. Assumed private key was incorrect, but I tried four different ones, several times, and still nothing. Has this function been removed from this version?
If so, how to?
Where are you trying to sweep a key from? If its from blockchain.info, you should take a look at the following post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1970345.msg19609200#msg19609200You may need to convert your private key before importing it in the manner described in that post.

I can't resolve my main issue I had to disable "Show history rates" in setting because when it's enabled then only source I can choose is "BictoinAverage" and then this problem occur. When I disable "Show history rates" then columns Currency Amount and Currency Ballance disappears bu I have at the bottom my current balance showing correctly. So is any bug with this and I would send this to developers but don't know how?
Yeah, it looks like an issue with "BitcoinAverage" and it seems this is the only one listed for some currencies. When I select, "USD", it also gives the option for "Winkdex" with "Show history rates" enabled and this one functions as you would expect.

![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FGHZug5y.png&t=663&c=xttw73nnREZkMw) The jackpot prize has been increased to 1.13 BTC as I saw today and it makes me want to hunt it. Who knows if I will be so lucky today. With 10k satoshi if we are lucky we can get 1 Bitcoin. Good luck me and everybody! The rules to win the Jackpot have changed. Be sure to check the help page for the info which is also shown below: If you win the Jackpot, you will receive 90% from the Jackpot amount if your bet was above or equal to 0.01 BTC (Bitcoin) or equivalent value in other supported crypto-currencies.
If your bet was lower than this stipulated amount, you will receive only a percentage of the Jackpot amount. You can calcluate it as WAGER*90/0.01. But it seems that they have higher basbet to get 90% jackpot. Usually it is around 0.001 right to get full jackpot? Or I wrong about this? And if I wagered around 0.001 I only got 9% of the jackpot? And that is around 0.09. That is pretty low I think, is it just because the 90% instead of 100%? Yes, with the new formula, it is needed to use 0.01 wager or higher to receive 90% of the jackpot. And it scales down if you wager less according to the formula. They want the Jackpot to grow higher which is why they made that change.

Wallet keeps synchronising, I've tried to restart, change server and reinstall - nothing helps. It worked correctly in the morning. I'm in hurry to participate in SONM ICO this evening. I assume I can just export private keys and restore wallet in some other client?
Yeah, you can always export your private keys and restore in another wallet or a portable version of Electrum. If you are using an HD wallet, all you need is your seed as well and you should be able to recreate your wallet in Electrum which may resolve the issue.

searching the web i found the solution: u just delete the: User\AppData\Roaming\Electrum and retry ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I was able to reopen my wallet files without a problem (and no seed) Labels and all are all there The wallet files are normally stored in that location so you should be careful that you don't remove any wallets that you need access to during this process. Unless you are referring to only deleting the configuration file and not the whole directory.

No one really knows what will happen in the future. There is still some issues to be worked out in relation to the current fee sizes and possible forks upcoming so we'll have to see what happens with those.
There is certainly a possible to make some good profits with altcoins but it is also risky as it is hard to know which ones will succeed and which will fail.
