Looks like DigiByte is developing well, the gaming & new market are great to see. Don't forget to keep the ANN / OP updated, a few pools / exchanges are missing & some are very important too anyone who utilizes it for a reference. Let me know if you ever need a hand with updates ( https://github.com/TestingCrypto/BBcode), I post everything on github to show all changes & all volunteering (tips are great though).

I suggest you put the results of this into the OP sha256sum MintCoin-Qt-v2.0.0.1-Linux-x86_64.tar.gz2 sha256sum MintCoin-Qt-v2.0.0.1-MacOSX.dmg2 sha256sum mintcoin-qt-Windowsv2.0.0.1.zip2 sha256sum MintCoind-v2.0.0.1-Linux-x86_64.tar.gz2 sha256sum MintCoind-v2.0.0.1-MacOSX.zip2
![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) The BBcode for the OP was updated just a few hours after FuzzBawls post the last wallet updates, also jumped on IRC & let them know & then even sent a message to the mintcointeam account. There are so many improvements that could still be done, just not able to get an update any longer? OPTIONAL UPDATE - v2.0.1.0This patch is intended to be the last release of the 2.0 branch and the "beginning of the end" for the old and outdated single-file blockchain database structure. Before the next major version however, we wanted to make some of the network/message/cpu optimizations available. Some of the changes included in this release are: - Back ports from mainline bitcoin to improve message handling.
- Disable some mining code that is no longer used during the pure proof-of-stake phase.
- Bloom filter feature added to increase privacy.
- Many small network optimizations.
The biggest benefit is much lower CPU usage and bandwidth used. While memory consumption still remains on the "high" side, a few memory leaks were fixed that will prevent a situation of exponential memory usage increase from occurring when the wallet is left open over extended periods of time. HOW TO UPDATESince this release still runs on the single-file database format, updating is a simple process of replacing your binary executable. Please make sure that no MintCoin processes are currently running before replacing this file! Once the file has been replaced, start up your wallet/daemon as usual. DOWNLOADSClick the logo at the top of this post to go directly to the Github release page, where you will find all available wallet/daemon downloads. For those of you that would rather download directly: Daemons have no GUI!All startup and RPC commands from previous versions, as well as conf file format remain the same. All Images, Logos, and GUI elements remain consistent with previous 2.0 branch releases.
Work continues on the 2.1 release, which will further improve memory usage and introduce new features.

Give Linux Mint a try, or Ubuntu. "Linux" may sound intimidating, but my parents use it (Linux Mint) and they're not computer-savvy at all. Here are only a few reasons why you should at least try it: - It's free.
- It's very secure. Most linux PCs don't run antivirus software because it's just not needed. You can get antivirus software if you want (also free).
- It's open-source, meaning, among other things, that people can browse the source code. This lets us verify that there is no spyware in the operating system. Microsoft spies on you, as does Apple, as does Google, as does AVG, etc. Not so with Linux.
- Firefox comes with the above mentioned versions of Linux, as does LibreOffice. With LibreOffice, you can open/edit/save Microsoft Office documents in Microsoft format, or in other formats. So, there's no need to buy Word, Excel, etc.
Linux also generally uses less system resources. You could put Linux on the free part of your existing hard drive. You can dual-boot your hard drive and when the computer starts, you'd choose between Linux and XP. The linux installation DVD will partition your drive for you (make a backup first!). If you'd use Linux for nothing but a Monero node, you should be ok with a 40GB partition, but of course more space is better. If you don't have space and can't get another computer, you could just buy a separate hard drive and put linux and Monero on it. As has been mentioned, Windows XP is not supported by Microsoft anymore. It's not a very secure system to begin with, and with no patches available, it becomes more of a target for hackers with each passing day. It's not a system I'd want my Moneroj on. As one who's tried thousands of times to explain this to people, but many are stuck in their ways & always having to go back to Windows or Mac because it's the only two options is now the past (Unix/Linux or Open Source Operating Systems have been around for well over a decade). The funny thing is both Ubuntu & Linux Mint are just like a Mac or Windows build, give a Windows user Mint (Cinnamon Edition) & a Mac user Ubuntu (Unity Desktop). It's been over a decade of non-stop people wanting their XP (Vista or 7), even when there's a better soulution out there & the cost of users is far less. I don't dislike Windows, but am not a fan of Mac / Apple & only because of the poverty it takes to utilize. As a kid wanting the fancy shoes, but all grown up & will take the payless brand knowing the cost / labor in said buy.

Tomorrow is just around the corner, and the advances being made today give us insight into what the future has in store for us. It is our absolute pleasure to explore and bring awareness to new ideas with the hopes that they will change our planet for the better.

“Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.”
― Socrates
Just doing a little light reading & couldn't pass up this post, words of the wise. Many good things can come from all of this, but one can only hope it doesn't take to long for people to see this has universal features & can change the world.

anyone know why mintcoin is tanking. losing almost all its value? why do people what to use mintcoin over any other coin? I fail to see any effort made here to help keep the coins value. i am disgusted with the losses i have incurred. 65% and rising. i guess you hold and get money? from where? thin air. all the money that you pay out makes the coins less valuable. this whole concept i failing big time and no developers are willing to admit it. wake up and smell what you are shoveling. This is a ponzi scheme. get coins and hold them , dont sell ever and we will pay u to do so. yet you as developers dump tons of coins on the market and crash the value. i trade in coins and some dope has a sell order blocking the whole exchange. this chokes up trading volume and in a few days the coin will be delisted for lack of volume. If coins are not traded they are dumped from exchanges. you tell people to buy and hold and discourage trading. This is idiotic thinking. This coin will die. I am dumping it like now. Mintcoin developers just want us to lose money while supporting there development of a useless coin. $ 500 us dollars lost and counting. I hate mintcon , whoever made it can go choke on a ham sandwich! yes mintcon i am not mispelling it. So please dev. try and respond to the loses all your followers have incurred. nanselmo
Been in the game for a while huh? It shows... How much research did you do before buying MintCoin? Any? Never buy more than you can afford to loose. ^This *Want to see it rise again, well Linux Mint would be a great way to get it in the right market (donated all of my years, but to BitGive | Seans Outpost | Do a Bit of Good & a few others) & as one who does lots of research. This would be a key, but you would have to understand why & how this would help for the real quote to make any cents. Change doesn't happen overnight, it takes years & lots of hard work. Many people just jump into this & many people lose, but that is in no way the developers fault. It's a free market, but if Linux Mint was to be a little closer on this > Rich List Rank 855 at block 1939303 with 1,713,548.109875 MINT. Just my thoughts on the quote, but I'm just a tester & a poor one @ that ;-) Here's a little bit of research links, for the ones who only look at the original post once. EP2: Geocaching Madness In the Carolina Wilderness https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Gm9CRPZdykIn episode two of 'Adventures with Microguy', the geocaching film crew take an aging Micro deep into the Carolina wilderness where they brave wild rabbits, rabid squirrels, rarely traveled trails, and ravenous black deer. Don't miss a moment of the mayhem as the team fights the elements, finds the hidden geocache "Hook, Line, and Sinker", and buries its second flashdrive containing 5,000 GLD of digital treasure. To learn more about the digital currency Goldcoin (GLD), please visit http://www.gldcoin.com or https://www.gldtalk.org Amazing video MicroGuy, still remember the days of people having hidden BTC cards (or keys) & nice to see the idea back again. The first video brings the idea of caching GoldCoins, this one really gets the idea of finding treasured GoldCoins. Again, great work & can't wait for the next GoldCoin treasure hunt (Geocaching).

Now that the OP is ready for complete updates (main layout is done), thinking about pushing some updates on the mining & How-To's. Let me know if you think this is a good idea, many don't like to spend hours trying to find all the Best-How-To's & I'm thinking of making a updated version for GoldCoin? It's great to be able to just ask, then have someone reply, but sure many would just like to find the information them self & spend less time waiting for answers (search engines don't have all the answers, not in this present time anyway)? I'm sure it wouldn't be used by all or even many, but it would be there if they were to seek it.
Yes would be nice :-) then we can support a Bootstrap file ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Something that could be of great use, someone to build a search engine type platform (mining specific), one where you can input your hardware & it would output the software you need. Also a detailed page with a getting started documentation + the software needed, all one needs to do is use the search engine & learning can be simplified. This would be something great to have in the OP, one link (icon or logo is reference to one & there could be multiple sites that program something like this) & one site to utilize as a guide for new miners. ~ I know of 100's of sites to use as a great starting material, nothing with the input & output (search engine coding) you would get when entering your hardware specifications into say the AMD or Nvidia sites for the right drivers needed. I actual think there might have been something like this, don't recall the site & am sure that one or two of the big mining rental sites might have done this in the past (or is that the future)?

I dunno if C-Cex is even worth it. You can easily buy yourself on it with a BTC or two.
They don't seem to be that trustworthy though, IMO.
This coin does not deserve to be tainted by C-Cex. That place is messed up and is basically an troll house and an ICO pit. I know this as I'm in the troll box on a daily basis. Only ever around 30 people logged in. If you do want to get on there, try and get community votes as you'll end up paying the btc then either pick you at random or screw up the voting winner ( happened on a few occasions ) All this being said, the Trolls in the troll box are first class ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) and thats different to cryptsy, how ? I've never had a problem with either, they both stood there stand in time & haven't been hacked or shut down. This new CoinGather one does worry me though, but I've not even really tested yobit due to all the past losses on new exchanges & mining sites. After testing all the new things over the years, you start to look back on the ones that were set in stone for a reason & stop wanting to test new things for a while.

FYI: I just posted this to the coingecko thread: Keep on Minting my friends! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I'm sure they're really busy keeping that site updated (as I coded their OP & they have a great system to see with all points of data), let's hope they see your post & update the MINT page. Did you send them a PM as well, they might not check the thread as much as PM's?

From the start of this account, still learning & seeing great potential in much of this (only time will tell how the world moves it)! Total time logged in: 55 days, 35 minutes.

I think one of the things holding back so many long-termers getting together is the fact that all the ones really capable are already working on different Coins and do not want to abandon their own projects or create new projects in which would further dilute the investment base.
^^^ This and also probably that there are enough coins already. Let's start making some of the good ones great, and quit making new coins. agree with microguy on this, there's a ton of older established coins with honest hard working devs and good but small communities around them, if we concentrate our efforts on these instead of just pumping out new coins, the community as a whole would be better off. seriously the crypto community has its share of problems, but lack of coins certainly ain't one of them, so lets concentrate our efforts on problems we have. I agree with this. It would be good for the Cryptoworld to work together and get more new people in. Don't fight but help eachother will give the Cryptoworld more positive attention. I've been on the losing end of that fence for over a year now. It's fairly stressful trying to rally people in multiple communities to come together for the greater good. It's one of the biggest struggles in crypto over the year/s, couldn't be more on point with this & many don't see beyond there own groups / friends / circles / clubs / etc (most throwing stones if not devoted to them alone). If communities actually started to work more together & not against each other, we would stop seeing all these fights over money / power / greed of what could be the one thing to change the world for the better? Only time will tell what will come of all this, how long we stand still in time is up to the world around us & no one can predict the future of what will be.

Ok guys, i've saved this coin one last time. I'm all for helping out charity, but if it doesn't stay above trading volume, it will be removed next time ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) Thanks, Richie@bittrex Thank you Richie, very honorable of you & let's hope anyone following WATER understands if that time comes. I my self have somewhat been blinded by all the FUD around delisting coins in the past, but it's business & you can't risk business over lack of community (maybe when there was only 100 coins, but not 1000's & more everyday it seems). It's not easy to run some of these applications 24/7/365, let alone servers with many of them & as a builder of well over a decade, thank you again for a great exchange. As I have watched the hard work from day one of Bittrex, as well as many exchanges that have been abandon or hack & many take for granted the ones that work day / night to keep a great platform. Let's hope Do a Bit of Good is still supporting this, as I have donated everything I had & am moving on to ones that are still active in charity (unless by surprise a community or developer shows up, only a hardware guy & not able to do much alone). Anyway, enough with the sob story & 1000's of failed tests ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) // Out of all this, if even one or two really make it to change the world of charity (as well as many other usages of the blockchain). Then it will be worth it, change isn't easy & sometimes looks hopeless ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) THANK YOU for your most generous donations -- Do a Bit of Good has never "cashed in" any of it's donations on the open market. Our primary internal "score-keeping" coin is of course GIVE which we continue to actively develop. We're waiting for the final for our 501.3c approval -- we already have non-profit status in Minnesota through our "Strength in Numbers Foundation". We are still very committed to WATER -- and will continue to host it -- and may pick up development enhancements on it as we would like to merge GIVE and WATER wallet code bases. If there is an opportunity to create a GIVE:WATER exchange, we'll consider it depending on feedback. -dvd You're welcome, also good to hear & look forward to the Give Water merger (if that opportunity happens). Having watched Clean Water Coin from the start, really like the idea & good it could do. The GiveCoin didn't catch like WATER (there was even an H2O, but could only pick one & two launching @ the same time), thinking that's because it was guided toward endless options of giving (hence the name) & Clean Water Coin more of a certain cause?
