381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: November 23, 2014, 03:00:49 PM
Litecoin has over a billion US dollars invested in it.
Really? Can you show us where you got this figure from?
Id say half the startups offering btc would do ltc.. Prob where that figure comes from
Take the historic price of litecoin and chart it. If you see see a line going down it is not, if it is going up then it is. This is the way to an educated guess. The rest are opinion pieces based on feelings and other non mathematical variables.
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: With Coin do i need to buy now? on: November 22, 2014, 04:33:21 PM

383  Other / Off-topic / Re: The craziest shit you can buy with bitcoins right now? on: November 21, 2014, 07:06:50 PM
Why spend btc if it will be worth millions? Just get rid of your cash, it will turn to wastepaper in future.

388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bear market to continue another 12 months on: November 20, 2014, 05:00:36 PM
Who has voted for moving to alts? It is overall bear market in altcoins, speculation for 10x profit, miners selling their coins at irrational price, irrational trading of PnD coins. that take new capital to wrong coins & scare away noob investors etc. This severe bear trend should kill the most of the junk, copycat, PnD coins. There are rooms for 10-15 coins (considering there are 100s of fiats & other forms of currency) and profit for everyday miners. Bitcoin mining is being industrialized, we need a community that can mine with GPU and CPU with profit and can support and uphold Crypto-currency.

391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NFO] Ethereum = Scam on: November 20, 2014, 03:31:21 PM
What I don't understand is why they settled on a structure that incentivises investors not to tell anybody else about the IPO. The more investment overall, the less ownership of the currency each individual investor has.
Surely changing the system to more of a tiered/flat-fee structure (where what you get is more in proportion to what you pay) would increase the amount raised.
392  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin and money laundering on: November 20, 2014, 03:29:21 PM
The public blockchain require laundering. Businesses also have to hide their transactions/sales/customers/supply and so on to competitors.
The thing is the P2P solution is pure laundering. Too perfect to be legal. I think banks will launder your money, you put in a big jar and they give you back what you need. The authorities will connect the dots with the internal database of the bank.
393  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How does escrow work? on: November 20, 2014, 03:21:56 PM
Even if using multisig if the escrow agent can find out who was the vendor in that transaction, and they cooperate, then together they are able to steal the funds in escrow.
394  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do i sell a large amount of holdings in a low volume market ? on: November 20, 2014, 03:11:48 PM
Split your holdings onto a small chunks and distribute between exchanges. If you meant an overall volume 2btc, you may want to get rid of it till its delisted.
395  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Penny stocks Investors on: November 20, 2014, 03:04:57 PM
GLBS- the biggest and least in-debt of the Greek Shipping companies. Fired their CFO early this year, and well placed to ride an economic recovery should it start in Europe anytime soon. Especially well exposed to the booming Turkish economy.
396  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is Market Liquidity? on: November 20, 2014, 03:00:25 PM
'Market liquidity' is a fallacy. If you hold on to a certain amount of currency on an economy and don't use it, the remaining currency which is being used will be worth more and will serve whatever investment needs there are. That's what the US economy currently does and that's working out well.

399  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Arrested for feeding homeless people on: November 20, 2014, 12:51:28 AM
Seriously though, what other guy in jail is going to look around and say "Hey, that's the 90 year old guy who feeds the homeless. I bet I'd get major street cred for picking a fight with him!"
Also, what police officer is going to think he can get away with roughing up a 90 year old dude who's in the national news?
400  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Obama's Net Neutrality Statement: What it Really Means on: November 18, 2014, 06:42:08 PM
It's pretty easy to explain. The US media does a piss poor job of covering international news that doesn't involve the United States. Due to cable television and the for-profit television industry, news broadcasts are centered around more domestic and local issues in order to gain ratings/viewers. It's not about the actual spreading of important information. The news companies here run the same top story until a better one comes along. Recently, that story was ebola. Now, since there's nobody in the US with it, the story is dead and people don't give a shit. There is rarely international news. The few news programs that cover international topics are usually BBC and PBS (public broadcasting). It's a real tragedy, yeah.
