381  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mini-Rig from Butterflylabs on: June 10, 2012, 11:19:59 AM
I heard painting strips make the mini rigs faster.

Seriously, I don't think any miner dedicated enough to spend $15k on mining hw cares about scratches on cases caused by manual assembly. Especially when there are many more legitimate concerns to have (underestimated delivery times, suboptimal cooling design, etc).

Sadly all this shit fits together...
382  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mini-Rig from Butterflylabs on: June 10, 2012, 10:19:32 AM
Looks like a great product to me. The only thing I dislike is the build quality Undecided hate this scratches on a 15k machine. Use some tape for protection ! I hope they're going to repaint the chassis before delivery. Cry

there are many options where you can start out with little money for instance:

You can get started with a back plane $99.99 and a single Spartan 6 plugin card (200mhash) for only $349.99

http://www.btcfpga.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=54

and you can add 1-3 additional Spartan 6 plugin cards when you are ready to upgrade

Thanks for turning this thread into your official marketing thread.  Roll Eyes

Thanks for turning every single FPGA thread into the official BFL ass kissing thread,

I cant believe you actually said that to me, wow coming from anyone else I would not mind one bit and even agree , you are way to used to people kissing your own ass and not calling you out on shit

Every chance you have , any time someone remotely talks about FPGA or BFL its a mini-infomercial starting GigaVPS the Bitcoin worlds old Richie Rich singing the praises about BFL

I could find MULTIPLE occurrences of you doing the same exact thing, way more than I have about my own company

please giga I know its hard for you to lower your self and mingle with us lower life forms, but please your majesty : dont be a hypocrite and expect me not to call you out on it, I care nothing for popularity at all. I am about the truth.

He's just a bit strict if it comes to OT.

389  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: ASUS DCII 6970 Which bios to go lower than 850MHz mem? on: June 06, 2012, 05:59:57 PM

What were the results then?

-fankih-

BSODs and other unexpected shutdowns.

Was that with AsusSmartDoctor? If it was, don't worry - it is completely normal Smiley That's why it sucks.

Msi Afterburner is the best over-/underclocking software out there.

Yep  Wink

There is nothing wrong with super flower. I use a 650W silver rated unit for my two 5850s. 6 months 24/7 use and not a single issue. Would buy again but in gold or platin  Tongue

ASUS makes great cards. Direct CUII rocks but not really for undervolting. Smart Doctor is a nightmare Undecided and my experiences with undervolting were bad.

395  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: FPGA development board "Lancelot" - official discussion thread. on: June 05, 2012, 06:32:32 PM
got 4 samples today.... Cheesy

show some pics or it didn't happen Wink

spiccioli

 Cheesy

samples have full of small design bugs, already make a TODO list.

unfortunately, the firmware side is a bit delayed. i could only do the test by previous icarus bitsteam. hours for no error now. i hope they can make a breakthrough in the near future.

this afternoon, i tested the on-board power module at school's lab . it can provide a 16A continues current for each FPGA core, 25A peak. form 7~14A is a wide high-efficiency aone (>85%). looks like Lancelot can become a very good development platform for various of third party bitsteams.

tomorrow i will take some photos. it's black night now:D

Cool, looking forward for some pics.
