Are you using any specific arguments with cgminer? Vectors, auto fan, etc?

Be careful leaving money/coins in Gox. They have had several security breaches, as well as if you get a keylogger and someone gets into your account and takes your funds/coins. Keeping them in a wallet is a better option as you have to have direct access to the wallet, or the key in order to do anything with it. If you do use Gox, I highly recommend investing in a Yubi Key for added encryption.

Hello.
Lets get more info first. What graphics card are you trying to use? And are you overclocking it at all with another program, if so what are your settings?
|
|
|
You can certainly test it. 3 7950's, even at a 1000w PSU might be drawing too much power, depending on the 12v rail and how it handles it. You might need to step up to 1200w or higher to ensure each card is getting the proper power draw. Especially in LTC mining where it is more intensive. Could be the mobo as well. Since LTC is more reliant on memory than it is GPU power, and the memory gets its power from the PCI-E bus rather than from the power connections (same reason powered risers are needed for LTC but not BTC).

What are your parameters you are setting, or post your config file.

Not sure the no monitors is the problem, lots of users run with no monitors. I did with my 5870 and 5830 when I used to run Windows, and still do even though I am running BAMT now.
Unless things have changed, running them as crossfire is actually worse than running them individually. That could be why you are getting lower than expected hash rates.

Not quite sure, I have never mined LTC or FTC, but I know some people have problems with stability and this. Here is something I read a while about about getting up and running with LTC. Down towards the bottom it talks about thread concurrency and where you should start at, and how to slow step up. http://cryptocur.com/litecoin/litecoin-ltc-gpu-mining/

Hektek, thanks, that's not a bad suggestion to run Linux from a USB drive. I have found compatible drivers for Linux and these Raedon cards. This should minimize interference with the installed XP operating systems.
Yes that works obviously, but that means that every time your user needs to use XP, you have to stop mining. As long as you are okay with this, then thats a good solution as its simple and virtually free.

|
|
Mining LTC? If you are using Windows, maybe try with a fresh installation if its been a while. If you are mining LTC, make sure you thread concurrency isnt the problem.

I have already looked round the forum, i saw that changing something in the registry settings fixed this for some people but not me.
Its only a HD 5450 But every little helps... (not in this case as its not giving me anything)
It says its pulling about 20-25mh/s But never ever ever gets any shares. been trying for days now.
Think it could just be old and busted?
What are your settings for it? Only time I have seen that a GPU isnt getting shares when it seems to be hashing away is if the intensity is something is set to high for it.

I think the answer here is, you arent going to be able to do it. The OS with that card isnt going to work. Either change the OS, or downgrade the cards, but there really isnt going to be a solution to get 79xx cards mining on an XP system, so might as well quit banging your head against the wall trying to.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Can you please elaborate further on changing addresses. Also, what do you mean by part 2, BTC-E???
Thanks,
xenonex2003
He means get a new, clean wallet address to use. Not always good to use the same address always. Plus, it makes it easier to track where funds are coming and going to. And BTC-E is Bitcoin Exchange. Go there to sell/convert your NMC.

You are mixing the hell out of things.
Do not use AMD overdrive at the same time with cgminer. Do not use a gazillion of cgminer configs, that separated cgminer config is a mess. No wonder BAMT craps out, it is confused by all those contradictory settings.
Burn a fresh BAMT again, apply all the fixes and enter all (ALL) the necessary settings (pools, clocks, fan speeds etc) in that cgminer line and no place else. (yes, this is one method, the other one is to use a separated config, but do not use both, for the sake of simplicity stick with the above) Don't copy paste random settings you found all over the forum, stick with cgminer´s README & that guide I posted before. Don't use two instances of cgminer at the same time, one started by BAMT and one by you. You can monitor what cgminer is doing by enter in terminal: screen -r cgminer while cgminer is running (if started by BAMT).
All you need to do is enter the right settings in the bamt config (that cgminer_opts line) and BAMT will work.
Yes, this is what I was getting at, it appears he is trying to declare things in both the CGMiner line in the BAMT config, as well as the CGMiner config file itself. Its simple really, use the config file, and just tell BAMT to go look there. So, this is what you should do. 1) Clean in stall BAMT (including changing your root password, and getting root acess) 2) Run fixer and get all updates 3) Update CGMiner and AMD SDK using the instructions here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=127622.04) In the BAMT config file, make these declarations. -Just below where it has the SMTP settings put these setting: -cgminer: 1 -cgminer_opts: --config /etc/bamt/cgminer.conf -Go down to GPU0, delete the disable: 1 line, and replace it with cgminer: 1 -Save your file 5) Create the cgminer.conf by typing: nano /etc/bamt/cgminer.conf 6) Copy and paste the config file you posted earlier for it in here, including all of the pool data, then save. 7) Coldreboot That should be all you need for BAMT to start, start CGMiner automatically, connect, and use the settings you have told it to.

|
|
Yea I do start cgminer manually.
I am still thinking but I dont think I did anything different.
I removed my cgminer config file and started it with just my pool info and it does the same thing.
Im going to mess with it and see what I can figure out.
I didnt see anywhere in your bamt.conf file where you specified using a cgminer.conf file. Are you actually using one? I have always found that its easier, and you get better results if you use a cgminer.conf file, rather than making all your arguments in one line.

There are guides around here about this. There is also a modified version of BAMT with drivers already installed for 7xxx cards.
Could you point me to it? I have read 3 guides and have only saw how to install older drivers. The drivers installed on that guide should be the only ones you need, it will get BAMT to see them, and any performance increases will come from tweaking, not necessarily because of updated drivers or SDK, but if you want the updated 2.8 SDK then I am sure there is a work around. Go to that post and ask Mobius.
|
|
|
I am assuming you have something like a 7XXX card and thats why BAMT isnt seeing the cards. Follow these instructions to update CGMiner (if thats what you chose to use in BAMT) and update the AMD drivers. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=127622.0

Only other suggestion I have come across, and actually had to do when I was using GUI and Windows back in the day was to delete your settings, including your app data files, re-install GUI and see if that helps. Something to do with the the miners folder (phoenix or one of them).

Today i have a popup when i go to my account that tell me "You dont have to confirm nothing your, order is processing"
Wow, they need to grammar check that shit. I do believe it depends on when you ordered. Yesterday when I logged in, my pop up said "Your order has been confirmed, thank you". Then again I ordered back in July 2012. So if you placed orders after they announced the power issues, then you should be okay. Its only the people who ordered before who thought they were getting a low watt solution.

WTF, 3dmark says driver 9.12.0.0 (driver not approved) core clock 1.66 mhz memory clock 300 mhz
I just ran 3dmark, and got 69339 ice storm 7870 cloudgate 1899 firestrike.
now I'm confused because stock 5850 is 725 core 1000 mem.
I was just about suggest check your settings. Are you running MSI Afterburner or something else? Sometimes they like to play games with them, especially after a restart. You might also try re-installing drivers and see if that helps/fixes the situation. If anything, in your CG Miner declarations you can set your clock and mem speeds, even if you are keeping them stock.
