382  Economy / Services / Re: Trippki Signature Campaign - FULL - Please read update in OP on: November 06, 2017, 11:10:27 AM
We have decided to postpone our Token sale until Q1 2018. This is actually great news as Trippki is in advanced discussions with a number of Hotel groups who really get the vision and want to engage with us in moulding the MVP throughout the initial development phase, which is great!  We believe it is important to complete this process before undertaking the token sale and provide an even better offering to our community.  The Token Pre-Sale is still open for participation.
Regards Edward Cunningham

This also means that was the last week for the campaign untill further notice. We will let you know when it is active again. Thank you for your quality posts.

Glad to hear everything is working well for the project.
I will continue using the avatar and sig while I wait for the payment of this last week (unless manager says it's ok to remove it while we wait).

Thank you for the well managed campaign.
Hoping to participate in this project again in a near future.
383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Booming!...What's your TARGET? on: November 05, 2017, 12:33:27 PM
What do you mean what is my target? How much bitcoins will I hold? Or how much dollars will I hold in bitcoin (or in any other fiat currency)?
I never thought of that, and right now I don't really think I want to cash out my coins. BTC is a very valuable asset for me, and I think it has way more value than it's current price ($7.4k), so I don't expect to withdraw them anytime soon, no matter the amount they are worth in fiat. I will spend them from time to time, since I need to make payments, but I will only do it when it's completely necessary.
384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how to speed up btc transaction on: November 05, 2017, 12:24:06 PM
Can anyone explain how exactly this service is provided? I usually pay a decent fee when I make a transaction so I can normally get it to go on the first block. I know some wallets like electrum have the option to use a dynamic fee, and you can also change it later with the replace-by-fee option, although I never had to try it yet, but I didn't knew that there were other services that could do that? Is it safe to do it? Aren't there many scams out there? How can you tell?
385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nov 16 Bitcoin Fork questions on: November 05, 2017, 12:15:43 PM
I would really advise you to not be greedy with this one. There was a lot of fear with the bcash fork, and everything went well, but this fork looks much more worse than that oen. It has no replay protection, so you should really wait for a while before you try to transact bitcoin or dump the B2x coin. That might cost a lot of profit, but it's the safest way to do it. Also since there is no replay protection and both exchanges and wallets will implement their own protection, you should look for news or announcements regarding that. I heard Bitfinex and coinbase will implement their own replay protection, and wallets will probably do it as well, so you should really pay attention to that.

I would not recomend you to leave your coins on a exchange, but if you want to do that, then I would also recommend you to try to see what is their position on what chain they will call BTC. I think most of them is still calling BTC to the original chain, but some will make their decision based on the hash power that each chain gets (of course BTC will get more hash power, but you should still pay attention to it).
386  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin kill maximum alt coins? on: November 04, 2017, 09:52:13 PM
Now a days all alt coin markets has been dumping and dumping without any simple pump for the btc price increasing. So just i want to know that can bitcoin destroy the maximum type of alt coins market?

That is not happening to all alts. Some are taking some really good pumps, as you can see if you look to bcash. To be honest I don't really understand that pump. Maybe since the BTC price is increasing so much, and there is an upcoming fork that is kind of an attack to bitcoin, they are trying to send the message that bcash is still an alternative if anything goes wrong. Of course that everything should go well, and BTC will just come out stronger as usual, since it keeps proving us that it handles well this type of stress. So yes, maybe you are right. As investors see that bitcoin is a solid coin, they might start to focus their investments on it, instead of risking their money on alts that probably won't do as well as BTC to these kind of tests.
387  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: buy btc now or wait the fork ? on: November 04, 2017, 09:44:11 PM
Hello
I decided to invest around 2400$ for a long term investment in BTC but the price is currently high. Should I buy now or I wait for the fork when price probably go down ? (I will invest in etoro so no exta coins will be obtained after the fork)

Since you want to go for the long term, and you have only those funds to invest I think the best option is to wait after the fork. Although the price might still probably increase a little more, since the fork is only around the 15th November, it could also just remain stable for a while, since it already had a large run, because of the recent financial news. There will most likely be some kind of correction of the price, after the fork, so that should be the best option to get more BTC from your current bankroll.

After that, I would jut keep holding no matter what, because a lot of money should go into BTC in 2018.
388  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin Volatility Be Controlled? on: November 03, 2017, 09:17:01 PM
I think it cant be controled because it's impossible to keep the price volatilitys. It's connected to a market and that's why it cant be controlled, traders make the price of this coin

You are right, it can't be controlled and I would be worried if it could, because that would mean that price manipulation as easy to do. Of course that although it can't be controlled on purpose, it is supposed to go away as we get more people using it, and more liquidity in the market. If there is a lot of liquidity, it's hard to influence the market, and the volatility itself should go away.

Gold was very volatile in the beginning as well, so the same should happen with BTC. Also, as soon as the true value of BTC is understood, and everyone can point it out, it will be more hard to speculate with it, so that will contribute to less volatility as well.
389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I hate 90% of Bitcoin investors on: November 03, 2017, 09:10:47 PM
I understand what OP is saying because it kind of annoys me as well. I'm not against anyone that wants to make money with bitcoin. I would like to have some profit as well, but that is not the main reason why I like bitcoin. If I knew that the price wouldn't increase any further, I would still buy it for use. The problem is, that since most investors in BTC are just in it for the increase of price, chances are, that as soon as bitcoin stabilizes, they will probably just sell it for cash, instead of using it as a currency.

Of course that bitcoin still has a long way to go before it can fulfill it's potencial as a decentralized currency, because right now the network just can't handle a big number of transactions per second, and without that, it's impossible to use it for daily payments. So I hope, than when BTC gets that problem solved, people will start seeing that the best thing about BTC is not the price, but its practical use.
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon registers Ethereum domain on: November 02, 2017, 09:55:30 PM
Very hopefull news for ETH. The future of Ethereum is here.

According to online records, e-commerce giant Amazon, often seen as the “white whale of bitcoin payments, recently registered three cryptocurrency-related domain names: “amazoncryptocurrency.com,” “amazoncryptocurrencies.com,” and “amazonethereum.com.”

I don't think those are hopeful news at all. I don't think they represent anything. Amazon is well known for avoiding at all costs problems with their domain names, to avoid scams and protect it's users. They already own a domain with bitcoin for a long time, and are now "extending" their list. Not saying it wont happen, and amazon might use crypto in the future, but I'm afraid those domain news have nothing to do with it right now.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: overgrowth BTC on: November 02, 2017, 09:50:47 PM
is it true that all those who converted atlcoin into btc have caused growth to 7000 usd of btc?

I wouldn't say that's the cause of the growth of the bitcoin price. I would say that is one of the methods used to invest in bitcoin right now. BTC dominance has increased a lot in the pat days and is now 61%, so of course that a lot of money is getting out of ICOs and getting into bitcoin, but some "new" money is also coming in directly into bitcoin. As for the cause behind all this, I would agree that it has to be related both with the upcoming fork and the CME futures trading announcement.
392  Economy / Economics / Re: What is Bitcoin's fair value? on: November 02, 2017, 09:42:06 PM
That's the million dollar question right there, that no one knows how to give an exact answer. It's impossible to define a value for bitcoin, and that's why we have so many divergent opinions about it. Some say it's a bubble, because they see no value in it, others say that anything bellow $100k is cheap, because of it's potencial. Bitcoin value will always be defined by supply/demand model just like anything else. Right now, we all see the potencial of bitcoin, both as an asset or as a currency, and we all expect mass adoption some day, and that gives a lot of perceived value to the coin. If bitcoin does not fail technologically, and is not struggled by regulation, then it will most likely achieve it's goals and it's price will be huge because it's scarce. So yes, bitcoin right now has a perceived value based on hope
393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung galaxy s5 mining bitcoin? on: November 02, 2017, 09:27:11 PM
Never heard anything about it, so I don't know if it can mine better than a gpu, or than a i7, but it can't compete with an asic, so it will be worthless when it comes to mining bitcoin. Maybe you can use it for those asic resistant coins (like bitcore or bgold), but forget it if you want to get into bitcoin mining. Even not knowing the technology well, I feel very confidant when I say that you can't mine bitcoin with it, otherwise it would mean that everyone in the mining industry was stupid, and I don't think that is possible of course, since it's a bln dollar industry.
394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The primary idea of bitcoin on: November 01, 2017, 03:18:06 PM
I don't think the idea was to take from the rich and give to the poor, or to reduce the gap between rich and poor. The purpose of creating bitcoin, was to create a coin that you be decentralized and thus immune to the government and bank manipulation. Bitcoin emerged at the heart of a financial crisis, so it was a way to create a coin that would give it's users some security from hyperinflation and manipulation. You would no longer need banks to hold your funds, and that would prevent them from using your money to speculate on markets without you even knowing about it. With bitcoin you have complete control over your money, and that's the great thing about BTC.
395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment Fields ??? on: November 01, 2017, 02:55:47 PM
I've been reading into different investment fields. Trading, Property, Gaming, Smart Contract market etc..

Which one do you think is best? I would like to know your thoughts.

What do you mean by property market? Are you talking about Real Estate investments? I think it's way to expensive, and personally I wouldn't do it, special because there is a lot of corruption in it, some times backed by governments, so I think it gets risky unless you know your waters well.
If by gaming, you are talking about investing in casinos, I saw some threads dedicated to that in this forum, and things seem to be working fine for those who were investing in it. Personally I like investing in crypto, because it's easy.
396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Etherdelta unstable platform on: November 01, 2017, 02:43:29 PM
I personally wouldn't recommend anyone use etherdelta if you using it for big amount of money use at your own risk, the site is extremely unstable, orders get stuck , sells gets stuck, buy orders get stuck and just vanish without a trace.... Nothing seem to ever work correctly. Owner of site has not fixed any of those issues. The platform is a traders nightmare...

So far I just used it to trade some Ether tokens from airdops. The last one was the PoSToken and although the trade was slow, either depositing the token from my address into the exchange, and to actually trade it, everything went just fine. I heard some similar complains about stuck trades so I would use it with caution. The exchange itself it's not very intuitive, but once you get the hand of it, it gets easy to use.
397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: November 01, 2017, 02:31:14 PM
Got unlucky with my bet yesterday. I didn't really believe that CSKA could win vs Basel, and I definitely didn't consider that Barcelona could draw against Olympiacos. Let's see if I can do better today, as there are also some interesting games out there, that could give a nice payout.

I will not make a parlay this time, and will bet on three games. Home or draw for FC Porto, draw or away for Man City and home or draw for Besiktas.
City still doesn't know what defeat is, and although Napoli is a very strong team, and is even 3 points ahead of Juventus at the Italian league, I don't think they will be able to win vs City. They are just to strong at the moment.

Monaco is doing fine in french league, but are disappointing in Champions League. I don't know what's going on, but I lost faith in them, so I don't think they can win vs Besiktas, that is doing the exact opposing thing. Winning games in Champions, and not doing so well in their home league.

As for Porto, they are a very strong team when playing at home, and have a very solid defense, and I don't see them losing this game.
398  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there a list of BTC exchanges? on: October 31, 2017, 04:24:53 PM
I didn’t know if there was a list somewhere of the more popular BTC exchanges. I have been searching. I found Kraken. It appears to be laid out nicely. I’d like to look at a few that allow trading in smaller amounts for someone just starting out.

I would take the suggestion already given here and go to coinmarketcap and see what are the exchanges with more traded volume on the pair bitcoin/(alt you want to trade). I would read their TOS carefully though, before making any deposits, since most of them are getting regulated and might need a license to operate etc, and it's possible they will start asking for ID verification. It is also possible that they might have to close, so also see in what country they are registered in, and how that country sees bitcoin.
399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: October 31, 2017, 04:20:49 PM
I think we have some good opportunities to make some money with the games from Champions League for today. I will basically bet on Base to win, because they had a great result vs Benfica, and they already won vs CSKA when they played away, so I'm expecting a win again, now that they are playing at home. The odds are @1.70, so I think this is a really good price. I will also through up some games for top teams that I really think will have some easy games. One is Man united vs Benfica and the other is Olympiakos vs Barcelona. I don't really think there are any chances that United and Barcelona will not win their games, so this will give me a combined bet @2.67 so I think these are some good odds for the combination of these three games.
400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is A Big Threat According To China on: October 31, 2017, 03:54:53 PM
I don't think China is an example for anything. They are well known for their extreme pursuit for control, so bitcoin is obviously a thread to them. It's not just something they cannot control, is something they cannot control and that directly affects their financial system. I don't really think they will find an easy way to deal with it, and this ICO ban and exchange suspension, was their best way to buy some time and try to figure out what to do. I think they know that if they go for the complete ban, and make bitcoin and all crypto illegal, they will probably create their worst nightmare, since bitcoin was made to completely bypass governments and banks altogether. I think their best chance is to try to regulate it a bit, and hope its citizens agree with those regulations and choose to obey and accept them.
