IPO = immediate zero credibility.

how should an asset be distributed?

this thread is almost on page 2 in overall views!
383  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Devastation on: August 31, 2014, 09:17:11 PM

You will probably need a week or two of studying the thread slowly.

I will be the first to admit I needed a week to fully absorb the following works of AnonyMint.

The Rise of Knowledge
Understand Everything Fundamentally

Together these are quite simply the most insightful piece of economic theory I have ever read.

If the author is right and I think he is we are all in the midst of a tragedy of epic proportions.  It is sad unstoppable and will devastate the lives of much of humanity.

I don't quite keep an eye on economic conditions around the world but one thing is certain that bitcoin is here to stop the economic devastation.

i'm midway through "understand everything fundamentally" and according to what i've siphoned out of the essay, bitcoin will only slow an inevitable economic devastation. the current paradigm of "what is wealth" is the root error and creates a systemic infection where people begin to treat symptoms of the infection with solutions (bitcoin). much like doctors do today in the west. "Oh, you have a cold? Take antibiotics and cold medication!". The root cause of the disease was stress, but the doctor doesn't address this

note to readers...the technical nature of "understand everything fundamentally" is a bit over my head..so my interpretation could be somewhat flawed

this thread just shattered my mind. looks like i found something to do the next few weeks!
385  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET IPO - conducted by Poloniex on: August 30, 2014, 08:58:43 PM
Can anyone summarize what the OP said in 2 to 4 lines?

the idea is a creation of a network of coins all working interdependently. all coins taking part in the supernetwork will be allowed to utilize the features of other coins within the network. bbr will use BTCD's teleport, as an example.

this is how i have interpreted it...

look at BTCD's icon, the vortex. that's a visual representation of the supernet. BTCD is at the center and it is bringing other coins into it, creating a larger vortex as it goes along sweeping up coins (more importantly, FIAT!!!). a larger vortex is obviously more powerful. the goal is to sweep up FIAT. the vortex is representative of cryptocurrencies as a whole. jl sees uniting cryptos more beneficial than the mudslinging that has been going on the past few months. i agree...

not as eloquently stated as others have put it...but maybe my interpretation helps
386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET IPO - conducted by Poloniex on: August 30, 2014, 08:36:24 PM
James, you say you need BTC and give a 5% bonus for whoever pays with BTCD and / or NXT.

I suppose a lot of people will throw NXT at it (I will), but as you say you need BTC you need to sell those NXT for BTC and thus putting sell pressure on NXT.
Will you try to prevent this from happening?

If happens what you think and I think it's not unreasonable, you collect 1000+ BTC in value, you will collect several million NXT easily, Those need to be offloaded by you. That effect worries me a little.

Sorry if someone else already asked this, I didn't have time to read the whole thread yet.

i think there are some whales who might be interested in buying large amounts of NXT off market, esp with NXT at its current price...just my thought though

Let's do a crypto, not war!
Pease brothers!

+1

and thanks to everybody who is asking tough questions and not merely name calling...that's what is needed for coins to grow

no need for a flame war

has there been any discussion on working with BTCD devs? haven't been active in this thread in months; not really sure where this coin is at right now

?? are you high m8....btcd is a scam coin being pumped by woolong n co, ill give you a tip....whales are gona cash out before 0.015 ( around 8 mill market cap) then its up to the btcd noob bagholders to decide how long they want to hold a overpriced, premined , pump n dump coin...gd luck though lol ;-)

not much substance to this post. i would be interested if you have anything to support this though, other than hearsay

ive already told you too much, lol. Tongue (people pay for advice like this) Cool
'

oh, well i better dump my BTCD! yikes!

the premine argument is pretty weak
if teleport works, the coin will certainly be underpriced @ .01
if BTCD is PnD, then so is DRK and any other coin that pops and drops. that's called whale manipulation

Thanks! I didnt expect to be spending the day "promoting" BTCD. I just was explaining how it worked and when they started understanding they seemed to have made some crazy big buys on cryptsy.

I am also engaging the XMR guys in risto's thread. At first they all ignored me, but they are all pretty civilized and the guy who accused me of using a sockpuppet(!), even apologized and said he would help

We need all of crypto to work together to create the best privacy. BTCD is a friend of every other crypto. By making giant supernetwork, everybody gets more privacy, better trades, more bets, etc. Plus I am pretty much deciding that instead of spending the 30% InstantDEX marketing budget on marketing that it will work better as revenue sharing with everyone that makes up the supernetwork. Of course BTCD stakers get the additional percentages and all the other asset's dividends, but it is everyone having much happiness the bigger the supernetwork is and I would rather pay the 30% to the crypto peoples that are paying for the nodes and doing the actual crypto trading, teleporting and betting than on advertising and other marketing stuff.

Though hiring bikini girls could be a good use of funds...
Nope, only if they also ran nodes on the supernetwork.

I see the BTCD spiral logo and envision BTCD at the center and all of crypto swirling around it

James

P.S. I see we have a little tiny troll that appeared. Maybe we can be nice to him now that the price is at .01 Smiley

nice to see someone trying to unite cryptos..

too much division is created by people who bring the "nationalism" nonsense to the crypto world

BTCD go to 0.01?

looks like a possibility right now...decent support above 0065

much faster rise than i anticipated...
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitcoinDark (BTCD)--Sha-256/PoW-PoS hybrid/Bounty Opportunities on: August 24, 2014, 11:17:28 PM
good post Azeh...

that is what will bring this coin to where it needs to be. your and jl's posts offer lots in the way of investor confidence

huge buy wall at .005 (45 BTC). lots more on the way down to .005 also. maybe you should get in now? or wait until BTCD is 5$, that would be a much better time to get in!

when I put my address/a tx id in the explorer, I get the error "Error! : Search found no results".

what could I be doing wrong? i want to look at the incoming transactions of a wallet

using this one

http://btcd.explorer.ssdpool.com:9050

still isn't working for me...anybody know a working BTCD blockchain explorer?
For now try http://cryptobe.com/chain/BitcoinDark
we will soon host one on the official website

this works, thanks.

is there a way to monitor the amount of Coin going to an exchange? ie - looking at one wallet's incoming transactions?

you are overthinking in my opinion. I bought yesterday for 10 btc btcd and did not even looked at the charts. It's not all about technical analysis. especially not for the new crypto's.

some people do trade technical analysis, which is why it works (sometimes)

Also, you need NXT running on mainnet also, but no need to fund any accts, just need it running

to teleport anything, you need to have NXT client running?
