381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Altcoins You Bought On This Dip on: January 18, 2018, 05:04:47 AM
ETH and XEM
382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So Bitcoin is better than Gold? on: January 18, 2018, 04:56:25 AM
It's not a beauty contest.   They both have their utility.    My btc may grow or go to zero, my gold keeps me warm at night when I know it's safe in its various storage places.
383  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Money can buy happiness? on: January 18, 2018, 03:29:37 AM
Since the time of slaves, money could buy freedom and it's still true today.   It's harder to be happy without freedom.

Freedom today means freedom from mortgages, bosses, working more than living, etc.
384  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hold or Sell on: January 18, 2018, 02:42:45 AM
Good day today.    Couldn't get back in exactly where I wanted but a nice $900 bump on most of my trading coins.
385  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoint to $1,800 USD by end of 2018 on: January 17, 2018, 03:10:00 PM
It might go to 18 cents.     No one knows.
386  Economy / Speculation / Re: SELL EVERYTHING!!! on: January 17, 2018, 11:48:33 AM
Holding and moving 300K into my exchange account to increase my holdings when we hit rock bottom.    And this time I think I'll go heavier ETH.

387  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it time to buy bitcoin? on: January 17, 2018, 06:07:37 AM
Wait until it bottoms out.     Just monitor the buy and sell columns of 2-3 exchange accounts and that should give you enough of an indicator.
388  Economy / Speculation / Re: How far Bitcoin price will drop? on: January 17, 2018, 05:37:58 AM
It will drop to $850.32.      Thus I will have a profit of $50 on the bulk of my coins.
389  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Money can buy happiness? on: January 16, 2018, 12:31:13 PM
Of course money can buy happiness with a *.    You can't buy it directly, there is no happiness store, but if sleeping late makes you happy, if reclining to 180 degrees on airplanes make you happy, if not having any debt/not having a boss, having a paid in full college fund for your children, etc. make you happy, then yes, money can buy those things.

It doesn't mean more money = more happiness though.

:-)
390  Economy / Speculation / Re: When 20.000 again? on: January 16, 2018, 12:05:11 PM
Maybe this year.   Maybe never.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: alll coin going down. what should we do? on: January 16, 2018, 12:03:04 PM
If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Friendly countries on: January 16, 2018, 09:47:18 AM
Singapore.    As an added bonus, no capital gains tax, no inheritance tax, and no income tax on interest income.   So your crypto profits that are converted to fiat and put into fixed deposit accounts (or whatever you like), all of the interest income is tax free.    Kind of a boring place to live though, but the perfect place to use as a piggy bank.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Who knows why every crypto is falling? on: January 16, 2018, 09:37:02 AM
Or it could be a further downward spiral.    The market is the market.   Anything can happen.
394  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 ROI expectations.... on: January 16, 2018, 08:46:00 AM
Just curious.    I'm hoping (and I'll use the word hope, because who really knows?) for at least 500% on btc and 1500% on eth.

What about yours?

It depends. Are you a HODLer or a day trader?
If you are a HODLer,do you mean that you expect the btc price to reach 65K USD and the eth price to reach 15K USD?This is way too optimistic.I expect the ethereum price to increase by 100% and go above 2K USD,but i`m not an optimist about bitcoin.Too many negative news coming from China and lots of FUD will push the btc price down.
If you are a day trader, your ROI expectations depend on your own skills.
I`m not a day trader,i`m only a HODLer,and i`m not that greedy. Grin

I hold a core amount and also trade.
395  Economy / Economics / Re: Do bitcoin millonaires deserve their wealth? on: January 16, 2018, 07:50:20 AM
Who said life was fair?   In my opinion we all get what we deserve.

I have very little technical ability, but I do have a high savings discipline so by luck, I had funds to put into btc when it was still in the lower atmosphere.

Look at Jack Ma, he has well known 'low' tech ability.   In the early years of Alibaba, he could barely use a computer.   It doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to be where he is.

We all use our different abilities, we all... for the most part have two hands, two legs, etc...  we just don't all have the same results from our efforts.   That's life.
396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Warren Buffett's Bleak Prediction Of Bitcoin And Cryptocurrencies Is Wrong on: January 16, 2018, 06:53:52 AM
Well, I'm one who certainly appreciates crypto and the returns I've made from them, pretty much more than I need for a lifetime, but even if we're just talking about btc, I'm quick to admit that it does have some serious flaws.   Any transaction system that can have transactions "forgotten" and not processed and you cannot follow up with anyone to check on it has a problem in its foundation.    And like anything else, it's difficult to build on a flawed foundation.

Even dealing with a dinosaur bank like HSBC or Citibank, they've never lost or 'forgotten' a single one of my transactions, and yes, even if I have to be on hold for an hour, I do eventually get to talk to a human to sort out any problem I might have.   They have other problems and flaws of their own of course.
397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your plans with your Bitcoin? on: January 16, 2018, 05:43:06 AM
Reduced holdings to 50%.      40% eth.   10% 3-4 other coins as longshots.
398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If war happens. Bitcoin will produce what effect? on: January 16, 2018, 04:10:59 AM
Refugees, and that includes those who have to flee with whatever they can carry as well as middle class refugees can much more easily move their 'wealth' from point A to point B without having to worry about getting robbed along the way.     Imagine if the Jews fleeing Germany during WWII or the Vietnamese fleeing Vietnam before and after the fall of Saigon could simply survive the journey, convert their wealth back to fiat, gold, or property with a few keystrokes and simply get their lives restarted within a few weeks or months.
399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: evidence of bitcoin market manipulation on: January 16, 2018, 03:54:37 AM
All markets are manipulated.   Just make sure you aren't the plankton.
400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin report from Citibank- Bitcoin will die on: January 16, 2018, 03:11:27 AM
Well like anything else, limit your risk. I typically sweep any value over my target holding amount into other currencies or gold.
