381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The World’s 1st Graphics Card Integrated Miner Is Shipping in November, 2016 on: December 07, 2016, 12:37:25 AM
Sending a board to philipma1957 would actually be a really good way to promote your product.
Anyone who has frequented the mining section of this forum would see pretty quickly that he is trusted and knows a lot about mining.
If you can get prove to him that you are shipping a decent product, you will get some purchases from other members for sure.

He has zero interest in sending one to me even if I pay him upfront via PayPal. As if I would run away and hide.

 Grin
I no longer want to test the gear as it is pretty obvious he has zero interest in sending one to me.

At this point I am done with this thread.

Too bad looked like good gear if it was available.

As I understand this company  they are directly connected with Lightening Asic and made a lot of gridseed orbs back in the day. They also really fucked a big reseller in Australia   you would need to look at
The further you stay away from them the better off you are.  I think they did you a favor by not sending the gear to you.  I also think you are smart to have abandoned the thread.

I thought this was it .
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615985.0

But I think this is the thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=436031.0

this was a disaster.

I could be wrong  but I think this seller's company  was directly involved.

Most likely  they did not want to send the gear to philipma  because :

1) he would have told the truth about it
2) or they simply want to hold everyones money  and ship slowly

384  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A7 announced on: November 08, 2016, 04:13:47 PM
So why do people still buy Bitcoin ASICs when GPUs can reach ROI in 4 months. If the current ZEC profitability stays constant then its more like 2 months.

Are GPUs harder to manage for most people and too much of a headache so they buy ASICs?

Because Altcoins are like straw fire.

I studied this a lot there is a long list of reasons for and against alt coins vs btc.

I come down to we will always have a mix so  a smart miner does all and needs to be very nimble and quick.

Translation  : there is a place for ;

AVALON 721
ANTMINER S9
ANTMINER R4

Gpu rigs for alt coins
Cpu rigs for alt coins
Gpu+cpu rigs for alt coins.

You need to be able to understand what the rules of the game are to play it well.

Here is one example of a cpu rig like the lenovo M700 tiny

a mall kiosk needs a tiny pc which can be had for about 400-500

free power = yes it comes with the rent

set a i7 -6700t on six threads it will do your mall work and mine for free at about 15-20mh
you have to have the pc anyway.  so a perfect reason for having one with an i7 in it.

To follow up on Phil and sidehack and yxt  they are all correct.  Some alt coins are terrible garbage design for theft by deception. Others have some weight behind them.

They actually serve a purpose to aid and help BTC and that is Liquidity  which is lacking in BTC  due to a transaction cap of 680,000 per day which is never done since to do that every block would need to be empty.

BTC only does 240,000 to 300,000 transaction a  day.  Alt coins fix this (well help to fix it).
385  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Looking to sell A four card gpu rig. on: October 19, 2016, 02:53:42 AM
So this is 1419 retail?  Parts would be included and shipping to the USA is included?

So is 900  good enough for the setup shipped to New York?
386  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Looking to sell A four card gpu rig. on: October 19, 2016, 02:32:21 AM
So you sold 1 biostar z170 rig

and now are seling your second biostar z170 rig correct?

what about the other three rigs?
387  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Final results for Optimizer 4k break out board testing on: October 16, 2016, 07:26:30 PM
I know you tested his board  in a weird manner, but I forgot what you did..
388  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Solar Array upgrade due to Hurricane Matthew. Sound Proof Water Proof details on: October 16, 2016, 07:02:26 PM
So  if you want  to make these cheaper..

you can buy this

http://www.lowes.com/pd/Reflectix-100-sq-ft-Reflective-Roll-Insulation-48-in-W-x-25-ft-L/3011906   40 bucks  for 25 ft by 4 feet

http://www.target.com/p/adjustable-3-tier-wide-wire-shelving-chrome-room-essentials/-/A-17136152?lnk=abtest_searchpdp_3   31.50  for 1 set.   63.00 for 2 sets

that is about 100 dollars

you could fit 10 s9's on first rack
you could fit psu's on second rack

and  you could lay a mover blanket over the silver foil
389  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Solar Array upgrade due to Hurricane Matthew. Sound Proof Water Proof details on: October 16, 2016, 06:35:46 PM
So phil where do you get these ideas?  You built a tent inside a barn!

391  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread Sept 12 to ? Prize = $50.00 Picks are Now open! on: September 20, 2016, 01:34:03 PM
I never did a pick just followed threads I will  be sad to see them stop.

One thing is for sure  your call on ETH coin GPU  mining pushback against  the asic BTC monopoly did happen.
392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My new XMR+ ETH thread builds info and other stuff thoughts and photos included. on: September 18, 2016, 11:31:50 PM
Hey Phil now that you replaced the cpu and found you did not short the biostar z170 mobo did you figure out how to get it to do the fourth card?
393  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmainwarranty of Colorado is offering extended s-9 warranty options on: September 16, 2016, 01:29:06 PM
I think the US law specify that the warranty is one year...
No. There is NO Federal laws in the USA stating that any kind of warranty at all has to be offered. Key word there is federal. The only gov legal stance on that is that if a warranty is offered it must be adhered to. Now it would not surprise me if some states like California or Massachusetts might have something about it though.

State laws vary, but I like that I can use paypal credit.  You need a paypal business account since buying an s9 might be called a business not a hobby.

You could take the DOA 3 day option pay the paypal fee of 81 to bitmainwarranty.  The use paypal dispute for the warranty process.  You would have 180 days for 81.

So 1589 + 25 + 81 = 1695  and if your paypal is a business paypal  you can dispute for 6 months.  This is better then  anything I can think of even better then buying the 180 day warranty.

So Phil bitched and moaned for 3 things:

1)pay with paypal                      > They gave it to us
2)pay less without a warranty     > They gave us the 3 day doa
  3) pay more for a long warranty  > They gave us 180 day or 1 year

So why complain if you are in an area that bitmainwarranty.com services this is great.
