yeah.. true . and nothing is more easy than making a fake death certificate ...  if this is all the proof we got to attest his "death", this is a bit "light"... at my point of view..

We dont even have that as far as I'm aware. Just him mentioning he was ill. Who was it that announced his death?

even if my english is sometime a bit broken ( i have to admited it )  i think having read corectly the OP ... no ?

paraipan was holding 250 BTC for the forum when he sadly died. Now it looks like someone found his wallet, since these coins are on the move. If anyone is able to trace these coins and recover any of them for the forum, you can keep 25% of the recovered amount.
382  Other / Meta / Re: paraipan's coins on the move on: August 15, 2016, 10:19:40 AM
Anyways, it is pretty much a no-brainer to setup multi-sig these days.

I've recently talked with theymos about this. A good multisig implementation would most likely prevent a lot of similar scenarios.

One of the other problems with Paraipan was he was anonymous and only known to the forum under his pseudonym. Took me quite a while to 100% confirm his identity, jobs, companies, multi country locations, next of kin etc etc.

This makes it even more likely that he could just easily fake his own death. Not exactly hard to do when you're anon and over £100k is no small sum to just disappear from an anon account on a message board. The fact that the bitcoins have moved leads me to believe he's more likely alive than not unless you have some pretty concrete evidence that he died (a couple of people on here claiming to know him isn't sufficient though (do we even know if they're not alts or are they also anonymous too?)). I guess his friends or family could have found the wallet and finally cracked the password if they were aware of them but are you sure you 100% confirmed his identity or his next of kin? I know if my next of kin got a random weird email or message on social media asking about bitcoins they'd either have no idea what you were talking about or just ignore it. They'd also probably ask me if I knew anything about it first before responding and if I was alive and holding 250 bitcoins I'd probably just tell them to ignore or deny it.

yeah.. true . and nothing is more easy than making a fake death certificate ...  if this is all the proof we got to attest his "death", this is a bit "light"... at my point of view..
383  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Megathread] SHIBANU Physical Dogecoin!!! on: August 13, 2016, 03:26:02 PM
You held an auction for five (5) rolls of these coins that ended on the 9th of August.

I won 3 of the rolls, you Pm'd me with details about payment etc. I replied that I could transfer you the funds that totaled 0.546BTC later during the night.

I received no reply from that one, but I sent the payment on the 10th of August. I pm'd you directly after the payment with Txid: c96a1c97b43c4d9413f3b744b116f861f0e961a51e6c3cdd51fdfc0d537612cd aswell as my shipment info. This was done on the 10th of August.

I still received no response from you, and I saw that you were online on both the 10th of August aswell as the 11th of August.

It has now been 4 days since the auction ended (which you locked btw) and 3 days since I sent you the payment. I demand a response from you.

And what happened with the raffle you would do where anyone who made a bid would get an entry?

Hhampuz

what ?   the auction thread were locked and you havent got any news from the OP after sending him your postals details  ( and paid him by the way ... ) ? ...from  4 long days now ?.... i cant beleive it..  Lips sealed  ( even if august is an holidays month , i mean forum's phones alerts should works everywhere...   Roll Eyes
384  Economy / Goods / Re: Glass Pipes and Bubblers Wholesale Closeout Prices!!! on: August 13, 2016, 08:17:04 AM
One of each for me break down the price for me. Smiley also I'm good with using escrow as I'm not sending first and I don't know why people did. nothing against you but you can't even trust trusted people do let me know.. :p

Shady shit goes on with escrow as well all the time and you don't even know it.

My escrow address has had more than 18K BTC moved through it and I have never gotten a single complaint.  Wink
+1 ;   at my point of view ( and i'm not he only one ..) Ognasty is one of the more trustable escrow on bitcointalk scene .. i personaly have made few deals where Ognasty was acting as escrow and all was always perfect ! Cheesy

I do not know who Lauda is exactly and what she or he did but it can be an interesting and also dangerous to ask forum members about distributing responsibilities of the forum admins, moderators. I prefer admins who are not strict pedagogue.

waww !!! you made my day !  Grin  yes!!

Killyou72, feel free to send the funds to the addy in the original post, and I'll reserve that Bank Bag for you. Smiley

Do you want me to pay now BitcoinPenny? Just figured I'll wait until you are back, but I'll pay straight away so you don't feel that I'm dishonest

it's a pre-sale .. so everyone who have reserved a bag have already paid for it .. ( that's how pre-orders works. )

i would like to ask a security question .. ( apart the fact the same public & private keys are engraved on each same coins of a  set..)

-do you engrave public and private keys by yourself on the coins ?    Roll Eyes
( cause if not, it could be a serious security issue to give a key list for engraving , to any mint...)
( wich is certainly not a real issue if coins are bought  only as collectors coins , and not used as a cold storage.. )
