I think Ill go with my first ever earned altcoin the wonderful  waves Just for tge information waves token got its own sofware wallet but to be true it has a glitch but a little glitch experience only which it when you do an exchange the icon will appear and reappear therefore you need to catch it and thats it. Also A fact that waves fee can easily be earn bu faucet (a website that will give you free token in a small amount) but you need to generate it 10 or 15 times also this waves crush about 2-3 years ago which means others might get interested because a fact that we have a saying buy low sell high.

Well Lesson number 1, not all altcoins moves along with bitcoin in other words all altcoins do not depend on the crypocurrencies,also know the king and the mother coin bitcoin.

Each coins moves because of the possible reason.

1. Yes sometimes it depends on the bitcoin.
2. each altcoin is dependent that do not depend on bitcoin which the market for one specific altcoin is different.
3. Each altcoin has different movement and value so here comes the supply and demand to market of cryptocurrency(not just in the fiat).
4. Each Altcoin has different holders that they decide to hold it(HODL), sell, buy or do an everyday trade.
5. Some has a belief that this specific altoin can be no more so they withdraw they investment on the altcoin.

(This ideas are from the past article and threads that I read and some are ideas that I learned from school because really, if you study a little about the market flow in the real world you can apply it in cryptocurrency)

I know this is short but this would be helpful. Also for better understanding why each altcoin do not follow bitcoin something each person or company manipulates one specific altcoin.

1. Like you did Hold but make sure you buy low when you want to hold(HODL). Well not just in this scenario you could hold it is when bitcoin also go down.

2. Do not panic when bitcoin or other altcoin goes down because like OP you might regret it and make a bad decision.

I too get myself attached to bitcoin becausw of its great history when it comes to the market and value increase. We all know that holding is a great option aswell by holding it much more time.

Still I like to open in an new environment which I did so I work for some bounties to earn altcoins and see what could happend and it made me into marketing and stacks too.

Even so I love ethereum and bitcoin its easy transaction no hasel no fee. While bitcoin and ethereum is in my bitcoin software wallet which that is easy transaction.

Now back to the main topic you found an ICO here is my thoughts you should know that ICO now a days are scam some are legit and scam but if your gots tell you its good by studying go ahead make a gamble see what may the possible outcome in the end. behinds those good results there may still be an false transaction and scam who knows!?, or if you see that all ICO and made research about it and its good go do your research asking is still good but making research is better for you to know. A big Coincidence for me.

I would say no, why? because the value of a dollar is rising but it has nothing to do with bitcoin value in other terms when dollar moves no effect on bitcoin.

For the reason bitcoin is just related to dollar it shows you the equivalent price in USD.

Here the cryptocurrency only affects other cryptocoins there are only connected stipl some altcoins or bitcoin are independent which means one can move up without the main (bitcoin) movoing up.

Actually to be honest if I want to pick or choose one it would be holding(or HODL) why? today is a sign, a possible sign that bitcoin value and other altcoin will rise to the moon. Which means you money will rise the percentage or double while the market value slowly do its best to make you holders or traders happy. Still to be honest trading and holding is good.

Well When losing sometihing like dealing with a threat of a  losing something you think that you can win with. So in the world of marketing I would say that investments and lossing money is normal and winning back as well is normal.
