3801  Other / Meta / Re: @Admin there is a glitch in the merit system if you refresh the page on: November 26, 2019, 02:13:54 PM
I remember when the issue was brought up before, but I must say I've never had it affect me.  I guess I've never been tempted to refresh the merit page for whatever reason.  When the issue came up last time I thought that maybe theymos could add a script to close the tab right after hitting the send the button.  I don't know how difficult that would be to implement, just a suggestion.

It looks like there is a glitch when you give out merits and then if you refresh the page the same amount of merit is going out without doing any manual entry. I was giving out merit to some users and eaLiTy was the last user i gave the merit and i went out to have a smoke and on returning i just refreshed the page and another set of merits is gone to the last merited user. I am not sure whether this is reported earlier as i searched and could not find anything relating that.

Surgeon General Warning: Smoking is dangerous to your health and could lead to a reduction in sMerit.
3802  Other / Meta / Re: BAN REQUEST for TMAN cause RACISM and excessive vulgar speaking on: November 26, 2019, 12:22:50 PM
The guy is a well know problem for a lot of abusers:

Fixed it for ya!  And besides, that's nothing new. We're all quite familiar with TMAN's poetry, and we love him for it.  If people around here were getting banned for insulting others, you would already be gone.
3803  Other / Meta / Congratulation and A big thank you @Theymos on: November 26, 2019, 03:55:43 AM
Congratulations to the recipients of the bitcoin awards for the 10th anniversary art contest, and a big thank you Mr. Theymos, sir.  That was quite generous of you, and I'm sure it was much work sorting through all the great submissions.

And Congratulations to the whole forum, it's been a great anniversary celebration.
3804  Economy / Reputation / [REF] Review for booogabooo u=1797062 on: November 26, 2019, 02:32:15 AM
booogabooo sent me a PM directing me to my lending thread, where he posted a loan request (the same request as quoted below.)  After briefly researching the literally worthless token he's offering at "170% collateral," I deleted his post as spam.  What I didn't know at the time is he plastered the whole lending board with this spam.

Upon further investigation, I noticed the link he provided for his token points an "exchange" with fake activity.

It's easier to quote @Timelord2067 here for the other details:

Loan Amount: 0.0015 BTC
Reason for Taking out a Loan: private
Amount to be repaid: 0.002
Repayment Date: 30.11.2019 (with the option of extension or reduction while maintaining 10% per month)
Type of Collateral: ASK token as 170% collateral (https://www.exonium.one/e/accounts/trade?s=ASK_CSM)
BTC Address: 17oF1Xd9McbbofiVN6k3eV9AkgC8JdXa8b

Hi booogabooo and thank-you for your application. [1], [2].

Unfortunately it is denied as I am only doing small loans primarily to test out the lightning network.

*Edit*

Am half asleep - booogabooo hit up five lenders simultaniously:

Darkstar_ [1], [2] zazarb [1], [2] shasan [1], [2] Royse777 [1], [2] (and myself)

TL;DR:  Sure, he's only asking for $10, but he's getting red-tagged.

I'm going to stake a new address but right now it's a segwit wallet I don't have plan to use the old address stake here because those addresses are generated from coinbase wallet. So here's my new address in segwit.

3806  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum not conected to servers HELP PLS HELP on: November 25, 2019, 11:13:42 PM
I just had the same issue as the OP yesterday morning.  I had two wallets open, both watch-only wallets (ypubs from my hardware wallet) and had no problem synchronizing those.  Both had new transactions to sync so I know they were connected.

I then opened my desktop hot wallet which I was expecting a new transaction to populate also, but nothing.  I knew there was one transaction that needed to sync, I had the transaction hash, the blockchain showed it confirmed, and it was definitely my address so I persisted.  I even tried to load the transaction manually, and it still balked.  That's when I started selecting other servers.  It took me a couple of tries, but the third server chose did the trick.

I don't know if this is the same issue plaguing the OP, but seems like it might be.  But it brings up a question; If you copy a wallet file from one computer to another, will the file remember the most recent server to which you were connected?

Ok boomer

Okay, millennial.  Time for you to venture out of mom's basement and get a real job.  One were you actually have to provide value to the person giving you money.  You know, the way boomers had to do it.

Kids these days.  Roll Eyes

What day did this alleged multicrapping happen, and how?
3809  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcasino.io complaint - Am I Wrong? on: November 25, 2019, 06:52:14 PM
You are missing the point here. Did you read the problem?? Im not complaining about what i have lost.... I guess you wont really understand unless you understand the loyalty program but then dont comment with such ignorance

I'm not missing the point.  The problem is you made assumptions about rewards and bonuses, and proceeded to risk your money in the hope those bonuses would be worth the risk.  You admitted yourself that you were unaware of what (if any) bonuses would be given to you if (or when) you reached VIP status.  Since none were advertised, there is no "false advertising."  They are not liable for your false assumptions.
3810  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcasino.io complaint - Am I Wrong? on: November 25, 2019, 05:04:37 PM
What "bonus" is going to compensate you for voluntarily pissing away $12,000?  Roll Eyes

Here's a strategy that might help in the future; stop gambling or stop complaining that a casino is taking your money.  Pick one.

ETA: Ignore game-protect.  He's a scammer and will only succeed in making things worse for you.
3811  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best Bitcoin Lending Platform ? on: November 25, 2019, 04:31:54 PM
There's one more that hasn't been mentioned, and they're an advertiser here on the fourm; Bitvest: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1221154.0

I've never used any of the third party lending/investment services, but I've considered parking a small amount in Binance's service.  I haven't yet because... web wallet reasons.

Just tag them back, just be as pathetic as the user is.. they will give up in time

I agree with this, report his multiposts, and keep ignoring the troll.

I would love to see GP get banned, but I have a feeling that's not going to happen.  He's just careful enough to avoid it, and there's nothing to stop him from creating another account to troll, and be just careful enough to avoid that one getting banned.

3814  Economy / Lending / Re: Question on how to earn through lending crypto on: November 25, 2019, 03:56:30 PM
I want to know what is the recommended amount of investment needed for me to earn decent amount.

I don't know what "a decent amount" is to you, but if you're thinking about it from the "earning" perspective you may be disappointed, or worse.  The greedy lenders tend to attract more scammers than legitimate borrowers.  If you are careful, scrutinize your clients, and avoid scammers you will earn a return on your investment.  You will probably not earn enough to supplant an employment income, if that's your goal.

Like any other investment you consider; only invest what you can afford to lose.  Good luck.

3815  Economy / Lending / Re: New type of scam attempt targeting Lenders on: November 25, 2019, 03:20:19 PM
Something similar happened to me around a year ago, it's likely the same person up to his old tricks again.

Here's a scam report I made on the situation, it contains some information that could be potentially used to dox him.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5054304.msg47098833#msg47098833

I think you're right.  The fake borrower who tired to scam me by impersonating condoras last week was also very likely from Serbia.  I have evidence that suggests so much, anyway.  Who ever it is, I think he's somewhat active here.  The timing of deleting the Telegram accounts during the two scam attempts I was part of make me think he's was reading posts here on the forum while trying his scam on Telegram.

If there are any trusted members from Serbia who are willing to help, I would share the information I have that may expose this shitstick.
3816  Economy / Lending / Re: [EDU] EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN LENDING TO USERS! on: November 25, 2019, 03:01:18 PM
what is minimum ranks to get loans and minimum for loan collateral ?
thank you

If you offer valid collateral there is no minimum rank.  Most lenders require collateral to be worth a minimum of 120% of your requested amount.

Some lenders offer loans without collateral, and each has their own requirements that may include rank.  I've published some of my requirements in my lending thread, but I also have other requirements which I do not discuss publicly.
