Anyone else get emails from Bitmain on products already shipped and delivered?
Got a couple emails dated today...on equip and psu I got last month...(go figure?)
Anyway, as a 'thought experiment', what would/could you do if they sent you them again?
I heard in USA, you are not responsible for 'unpaid' equip arriving on your doorstep you did not order'
Anyone else but bitmain (evil) I'd just send it back...them...er ....conflicted....
Anyway, thoughts or clarity on any of the above
I guess this is kinda 'off topic' unless they send me duplicate orders......then it would be WAY on topic indeed
Anyway, thought it was weird as heck.....

I will defer the conversation back to communism vs fascism vs capitalism (because those are the only systems that can ever exist).
The idea of testing new systems on a micro scale is insane and invites crazy rich people with swords and swashbuckling (because...movies and books).
Best to do that all at the scale of trillion dollar economies with population destroying weaponry.
you can also look at the dark side to all above in this manner communism (feudalism serfs) fascism (good old Nazi's) capitalism (oligarchy....ie banana republic) sometimes I think I should get some land someplace ..put up a tiny house and have nothing to do with 'humans' whatever we touch we muck it up in some manner

Private for-profit jails are a growing concern. We can just house them in there. And by then they will take BTC! (round us up ....use the $5 wrench password extractor...and take out our BTC to fund the for-profit Jail mode) Win/Win/Win Win (Banker's happy and established centralized monetary control thrilled) Win (Politicians happy......banker funding assured...power also centralized) Win (For-Profit Jail folk happy...bunch of 'nerds' easy to guard if given Internet access)

I don't see why we can't just concentrate all the undesirables someplace out of the way. Like in a nice camp, maybe.
Well, you are screwed then ...this whole group of folk on bitcointalk are 'undesirables' in the sense we want to over throw the established banking era yeah, this is gonna work well in us/you/me not hitting the border before they shoot us off to a camp for our safety... sh*t we'd so be the first rounded up, if for no other reason than below to get our btc before we are 'concentrated' as it were

@Searing; thanks for your perspective on warrenty. I was in the good fait that sending is like 3 days, repair (unplug and insert asic board), return 3 days, so total max 2 weeks. I belief you have more insite / expierence on that. More then a month, autch. Overclocking is like nature, higher the returns the bigger the risk If you can get it back in 2 weeks more power to you. A couple people here and a friend it took more than a month and 1 guy 2 months. this was for L3+'s this last summer. Even a month is likely too long for chipping away at the likely NO ROI on these D3 beasties... anyway, hopefully, I'm wrong and stuff has improved on returns massively, .(others? anyone send any bitmain product in? turnaround?)

I have a problem with Fedex France This message is found in the tracking number What should I do? such numbers in the USA are our soc sec number as a private individual or a biz number of some kind call them up, I suspect it is something like that..they just want to track it to you as an individual.. when I got such calls ...all I had to do is prove I was me in the above manner, and address, phone number and usually they had a fee involved (sigh) good luck.not sure how this applies in France ..but how it works in my part of USA

Quite stupid if i lose my warrenty if i gone underclock the miner
More stupid are duane employes that has a slite of jalousy and over taxs.
not so sure the warranty matters much at this point in time...IF you want to ROI and say a board goes out...and it takes a month or more it is all moot probably by that time...due to difficulty vs price The only way I'll send anything in..is like say on day 172 out of my 180 day warranty..just for the frack of it I mean, its always possible price could revive the equip at that point (look at how many A2's got turned back on after 1 year due to this years price pump from 4.15 ltc to 50 buck ltc) but, long odds on fixing this stuff and a long turn around Also, all bitmain stuff is OC'd imho, it is just where they start the process...ie 15gh was the spec...and suddenly they got 17.5 gh out of it and informed us of such ie....just 0C'd because they considered it 'stable' ..it may be for some folk....but ..imho ...it really was made for 15gh....or so I tell myself getting only 16gh vs the 17.5gh folk may get besides me now it is an old asic mnfg game....knc did it ....was designed at 250mh for their titan knc scrypt miners.....late to arrive..so they overclocked it to 300mh...then dies were bad and they had a warranty of returns if less than 300mh.... so they overclocked them again by upgrading the firmware (you could not previously do this...they stated anything over 300mh voided warranty) funny a firmware fix got them out of the hole...not having to meet their 300mh stable warranty requirements with these tricks it was so bad that the voltage plug that burns out on titan cubes was beyond specs for voltage when all was said and done ..thus the knc y adapter needed anyway, my view..it was designed for 15gh ...I ordered thinking it was 15gh ..they say it is now 17.5gh ..I get 16gh .....got to take this all with a grain of salt if you get 17.5 more power to you...but I bet just as many get less than that as get the spec of 17.5gh again, imho

Looking ugly. Using this calc I get $21.59 per day now. This is before the next equip dumps. Also, this is at 17.5gh and 12c kWh. https://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/dash-mining-calculator/?h=17500&p=950.00&pc=0.12&pf=0.00&d=8264827.90405388&r=1.80147602&er=0.04741668&btcer=5932.68760000&hc=0.00gonna be looking at 10 bucks a day soon.....this sucks..... On a side note....is this now the strategy a person uses with Bitmain OVERCLOCKING their D3's and/or other equip? Bitmain states: 17.5gh from 15gh. You Ignore: 15gh original specs is what you run it at really. Bitmain states: 19.2gh from 17.5gh. You Ignore: 17.5gh original specs is what you run it at really. Seems to be the trend, imho, Bitmain being "evil" and all *currently barely keeping my D3 Bitmain spec'd at 17.5gh running at 16gh. edit: perhaps there is a newer firmware patch I'm not aware of past the Sept date on mine?

So anyone wanna bet next week it'll be a fresh new China ban, or some Jamie Dimon bullshit, or some other crap?
You know they just can't let this run for long without something something FUD something.
Yeah, a direct relationship between BTC price pumps and the amount of Panic FUD. Also, the news media cleans up for these stories for eyeballs to their sites or newsprint mags mon, tues, wens you talk about BTC and crypto pump in price and yell MOON fri, sat, sun you talk about how it is all a bubble and a bust..... 2x the market ..2 diff perspectives...2x the amount of press you can sell rinse/wash/repeat would be fun to see BTC hit 10k in a week..then the powers that be would literally lose their frigging mind on the FUD

Taking days off and watching the chart without caring about what your boss thinks of you. Priceless One can't never be too thankful to Bitcoin! Talking price I've been using Fibonacci retracements since the end of 2016. I would say they are 85% accurate so far. I should have used them to trade and get more coins. But I'm an hodler These prices are nothing... yet. I gave my 2 month notice this week. I can leave any time but I like the people at my company and wanted to give them plenty of time to find a replacement when I leave. I don't do shit at work any more. Today I responded to an e-mail and looked at a problem on one of the systems. That's all I did this week. Feels good to not care about getting fired. Ditto. Though I still work 3x a week in a house of Dev Disabled folk, I figure I can have 3 days of work, and 4 days off, in a row, looking at the stuff I need to fix on the house vs looking at the house for 7 days and no work...and procrastinating on fixing stuff. (heh...too true) on the 4 days I have off...not a big deal I suppose, if I stall long enough.....and BTC hits 10k I can have the work done on the house.....so I just have to stall long enough that it matters...progress! My Job is 11 hr shifts, and anything over 31 hrs is full time with benefits, over nites, so told them Thurs, Fri, Sat or I'm gone....they took my revised schedule. But then again, 4 days off need to fix house...so far its been a stalemate.....it sits unfixed and I sit also in silent protest/procrastination....equilibrium..karma but yeah, the not getting fired thing works for me too, all my pay from the wage slave job now goes into health insurances and company 401k for giggles, live off mining. So, even if you guys here all, do get to a point you can quit your jobs, you got to do something....me....I can do this yet as a public service or go volunteer for 'habitat for humanity" and let the inner nerd in me loose with power tools....(that could end badly) anyway, good to have options...I'll likely live longer

we need a good firmware or asic reprogramming mode.. for change Algo from X11 to other algo x10 x13... baikal can change algo.. why D3 not? thanks came on good asic engineer Isn't Baikal x11 an FPGA ? I read about it being an ASIC a lot but these algos are quite different. From what I was told Baikal is an FPGA and the firmware can be modded by software. I was told that it is not the case for ASIC's. I know knc made a scrypt N mod from Scrypt but don't know the circumstances back in the day with knc titans but anyway, seems to be other protocols besides x11 we are out of luck I have a D3 from Sept. 17ghz. Only $20 per day. Now D3 Oct is 19.3 Ghz. I'm dying ( I ORDERED mine in SEPT and have one DELIVERED in November....so I HOPE that mine shows up at the faster speed. (knock wood). Is that the case do you think? Of course, at the rate returns on x11 coins is dropping we need a pretty big coin price pump or it is all moot anyway.

19.3GH/s is false advertising right ?
Some people want to sell there D3 and lie about hashrate ??
Can we have screenshot of what you advance ?
who lied? the current batch that already delivered in China are all 19,3ghz Wow....that's pretty crazy. I'd love to see the real number once it's online. That would mean that Bitmain sold a huge batch at 17.5 gh for $2,699.00 per, and the next batch for $1269.00 for 19.3gh. Seems a bit Wonky. Yeah but that first batch ROIed in less than a month and this one will take half a year. My order is on the way but bitmain still hasn't sent me any emails. I need the invoice to clear customs!!! No it didn't. I have first batch and I made around 800$ so far. I'm not here like others that didn't know what they were buying, but you're exaggerating a bit with that roi. It cost me somewhere around 3600$. I can only hope dash goes through the same stages as litecoin did and x11 maintains a decent monthly profitability throughout next year. 800$ is very very little for a September batch D3. People report 20-25$ per day right now that translate to 600-750$ a month. What were you doing the first week that it was 100$ a day? The $100 a day did not last long. By the time mine arrived it was $60 a day and rapidly dropping. At 12c kWh I’m making $23 a day now. Also bitmain quality has gone Down. With no errors I’m only stable at 16.5mh with tweaking to keep It there every other day. These units are as prissy as a KNC Titan. Anyway. Temper your expectations.

Where do you live?
Why Iceland?
A former constitutional republic situated between Canada and Mexico. They actually jailed banksters after '08, remote enough to resist waves of eco/war refugees, geothermal power for mining and comfort, high levels of education and social cohesion, hawt hawt women, need I go on? Take me! (How big a bitcoin boat will I need to dock there?...hoard that is)

Nice move. I'm surprised such a security measure hasn't been implemented years ago, when the trade of valuable old accounts started to take off. my hero account was stolen 5 days ago. and i cant prove ownership as i didnt have a btc address linked to the account. BUT i have the whole list of emails for the PMs i got since 2014, and its so obvious that the account is stolen just by looking at _javi_`s recent post (hey, i learnt to write in a language i cant even recognize, just the day when i changed my email and avatar!??! what a coincidence!!) I've had friends with our situation....they got nowhere...w/o a private msg via a blockchain on your btc address you likely are screwed hope I'm wrong...give it a shot...but don't get your hopes up (sorry for your loss)

So, finally, are the D3 delivered with 17,5GH/s or with 15? Or this is only valid for September batches?
From what I read so far, they are 17.5GH with roughly 950W draw I dont know how reliable they are. Some got problems within a couple days, others not... Same like with L3s and S9s I ave 16.5. No more 😔 Seems weird ... on realtime i am at 17.15GH/s per D3, on average 17.5GH/s Pool report habitually between 34-35GH/s hashrate, with some spike. which pool me prohashing

Not to burst your bubble, but ROI on those machines will be way longer than 200 days, so yeah, I believe that is a bit too much...
+ new ASIC tech should come in the spring 2018, it might mean all today's tech would be obsolete...
My guessing on calcs with electric and a guess on difficulty at my winter rate of 12c kWh Imho, you need a least $90 LTC or more, using that scrypt coin as an example to break even....and that may be low. I'm including all electric use for 12 months and the bitmain PSU and shipping etc at the current $2040 rate. Again, this is off the cuff and I used the www.litecoinpool/calc for ease of use at 101% and no fee. Likely, you would do 10-15% better on a multipool like Nicehash or Prohashing So LTC needs to pump to $90 to $100 bucks or my KNC Titans may finally be 'doorstops' with the L3's soon after. Feel free to correct me, if I'm being too optimistic or pessimistic on this. This is a 'seat of the pants' calc and guess. Not to burst your bubble, but ROI on those machines will be way longer than 200 days, so yeah, I believe that is a bit too much...

curious to see what bitmain, can and hopefully some new entrants will have available early '18! maybe they can squeeze 25TH/s from an S11, and a few GHz of scrypt from an L5... I can't even imagine Bitmain releasing an L5 with even more hashing power than the L3+. It would be a bloodbath, lol. They'll need to upgrade their servers again Bitmain could release an L5+ or whatever. But again, imho, it would be to get better equip to their data hall first (3 months to us say) and also for their hashnet of pow/scrypt and of course their bet that this would make sense also on a $90 to $100 buck LTC or equiv scrypt pow price. But as a consumer product as the only consideration, they can just continue to run these out like toasters (S9 Bitmain BTC miner) and adjust price up/down/sideways as prudent. Myself, I expect them to sell L3+'s into middle of 2018, at reduced prices sure....but they now control 80% or more, of all ASIC manufacturing for sha-256 (BTC) scrypt-pow (LTC and majority of altcoins) and now x11 (dash) so the question becomes, they have a 'captive audience' for mining equipment ..so why push new equipment, when the only alternative is the market the share of 'old designs' you control? anyway, I know zip.....just saying....

What happens after the SegWit2+2mb fork, IF one fork finally gets 51% consensus? In other words, assume for a moment the sake of argument, that consensus is reached after the segwit2+2mb fork in November. Thus in this Unicorn Land of Fairy Dust/Sunbeams/etc. We finally get consensus on protocol and scaling! I'm NOT taking a side here. But curious on what folk think would be the result of a grand compromise and true protocol win of 51% plus by whichever bitcoin flavor/dev camp. Be it BTC/BCH/SegWit2+2mb etc? Price? Results of a united front against Gov't FUD? Just a warm fuzzy feeling and BTC price goes sideways? Take the poll. But it strikes me as this would be truly epic, if everyone was on the same page for ONE protocol, like say the Litecoin solution and roundtable compromise, on their version of Segregated Witness. (I know, I know, but a guy can dream the impossible right?) Anyway, again your views and vote on a future where the BTC scaling controversy is resolved, what would that mean in reality? Post your what ifs and/or whatever in the thread and consider taking the poll on your suspected REAL price with this scaling issue SOLVED! (I really, really want a Unicorn Dream of all the devs and forks getting on the same page...again it would be epic!)

I've seen reports that Bitmain is offering refunds to late November customers because they need to extend the delivery dates. Thoughts?
No sh*t where? Have an early Nov unit coming....might bail. Same here. Hope this is true. Wonder if they would just give back the same amount of coin we paid or just the dollar equivalent of current coins... er.... I may have typed too soon. This is "Bitmain" the odds of a real refund on anything is dubious at best (ie when pigs fly) but what the heck if 'wishes were horses, we'd all take a ride" but late or not imho, bitmain will just have you stick to your part of the purchase even if they are late, imho (again, hope I am wrong)
