-the part that makes me laugh is that they are the sole miners of their hull coin.. there is no competition/different pools mining hull coin..
and as such they get 100% of every block. yet they say they wish to get a KNC miner..... ,.,,,,,,,,
dont they realise adding miners is only needed if there is competition.. of they keep the mining process closed so no one else mines it. then there is not any need to out compete THEMSELVES.
the mind boggles
Heh, a single CPU would do the same thing.

The USD has been such a weak reserve currency for so long, nobody would really notice if it was replaced.

Bitcoinity has Gonzo as the background.
IIRC it's Beaker. Must be an April Fools theme. For you lot living in the past, give it a few more hours...

OP has it wrong. Only the Square Market accepts Bitcoin, not the app.

And who is the largest contributor to Gates' fund you dumbass? And yeah you said, "will probably get greedy" which is basically saying he will be greedy. Glad to be on your ignore list, now go sit in the corner with your tinfoil hat. Pop quiz hotshot. Who said "Be Fearful When Others Are Greedy and Greedy When Others Are Fearful?" I didn't say he will be greedy, he did. Capiche? Lol, an investment mantra is what you're coming back with? All he's saying is to be a contrarian. You simply have to look up the amount of money he's given away to see that the man is far from greedy. Buffett is No. 2 on the Forbes 400, with a fortune of $46 billion as of our most recent tally. As the originator, together with Bill Gates, of the Giving Pledge, a commitment to donate at least half of a donor’s fortune before they die, he has already given huge sums. He has pledged to give away 99% of his fortune. Forbes calculates that Buffett has donated at least $9.5 billion in shares of Berkshire Hathaway to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. That sum does not include 2012’s $3 billion pledge to his children’s philanthropies. Wow only 99% of his fortune? What a greedy dick! You're best to put me on the ignore list like you said you would, you're making yourself look like a complete imbecile. So at the end of his life after decades of being a bazillionaire during the deregulated Reagan-Clinton-Bush years he decides not to leave his family more than a few billion. BFD. You can't take it with you. He is just a businessman yet you seem to worship him like a god. What an idiot you are.

bitcoin is a nuclear resistant electronic exchange system just like what the internet was for information
the govt should really be looking into bitcoin, but we dont have a cold war any longer so its not on their priority
EMP ElectroMagnetic Pulse -An EMP is one of the first effects felt after nuclear blast. Often they disable all electronic equipment within the blast radius. If they start nuking, you have more problems to deal with than how you will pay your bills.

I hate to pick on the guy. I'm sure he's nice, but slamming Bitcoin deserves a response. One day he will finally start to understand cryptocurrencies and will probably get greedy like so many other newbies. I predict he will gravitate in the way so many investors do and invest in developing an altcoin rather than help Bitcoin develop. I'm not saying he should buy bitcoins. In fact, I hope I'm wrong and he stays completely out of cryptocurrencies. He would cause more harm than good like so many others with more money than sense.
You're calling Buffet greedy? You realize he's one of the biggest philanthropists in the world, right? He embraces what he understands, and he doesn't understand Bitcoin. I hardly see him slamming it, I do see him saying he doesn't understand it, which is entirely fair. Calling him greedy and lumping him in with "newbies" makes you look like an ignorant fool. He calls it a "mirage" which is a hallucination or delusion. The Bitcoin developers are not delusional. So he's a philanthropist. What cause has he championed? At least Gates set some real goals for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Besides, I didn't say he was greedy. I'm sure his wealth came from a deep sense of sacrifice like Mother Theresa. But when Cryptocurrencies finally reach a major adoption stage, he may change his tune as he watches his BRK.A start to fade away into dust. Welcome to my ignore list, Mr Ignorant Fool.

DOGE is actually the 1# in transactions activity. Actually the only coin that normal people may know outside nerd circles.
But nobody uses DOGE outside a subset of Bitcoin users. You have a point though, that Bitcoin needs massive marketing to become known.

We just need to get rid of these Mt Gox model exchanges and switch to brokerages because exchanges are very risky. That will foster distributed exchanges to be developed because they are less susceptible to panic and volatility.

Doubting Bitcoin the currency perhaps is an easy error, as a businessman though he certainly should and perhaps will better understand Bitcoin2.0 Meta/Protocol == asset and trade opportunities.. MSC; XCP; NXT; PTS+DACs; and Ethereum etc have real prospects. It's a cheap shot of course but perhaps he's looking for a quick win rather than any medium term prospect.
Why do people keep clumping all these together? If a meta coin or protocol is not actually recorded on the Bitcoin blockchain, then it is an altcoin. Sorry, but it's a pet peeve.

I'm sure the person who thought up bitcion is very smart and has considered things like this. Now I wonder when the OP of this thread will post their credentials on cryptography for us?
To start with, I read Satoshi's White Paper. Where did it say anything about what you claim? It's one thing to presume that the military does it's job to look for any combat vector to keep the nation safe. It's not unreasonable to assume what you claim. So why the hostility? Did you come here from 4chan? BTW, thanks krodmandoon.

I would like to know: When are we gonna see $10K? Are we gonna get there in a few flash crashes (upward) in 2015 and then maybe in 2016 or so, $10k will be the new bottom, and in $2017 $10k will be a distant memory of earlier years? Or would you envision some other kind of scenario involving the $10K? like further down the road? or earlier?
Clients have to become extremely secure, easy, portable, and fool proof to use before their will be much adoption beyond enthusiasts and speculators. Bitcoin ATMs are a good step, but we also need better wallets. DuoBTCle-BTCottom confirmed! Haven't you heard? Double bottoms are out and triple bottoms are in.

Rule of thirds may put us back to 384, but expanded volume will probably put us back at 510 until the next event. But really, how bad can any news get anymore? May China will get a second wind, or maybe Japan will get a divine wind.

Is there compelling evidence that 'the US government hates Bitcoin'?
I have not heard anything concrete that suggests that is anything other than a paranoid fantasy. I am genuinely interested.
Have you read any news stories from American press the last few years? Sure, hate may be an overgeneralization with a hint of hyperbole, but it expresses the perceived sentiment.

Thanks for the logarithmic chart, g4c - been looking for it. Made it my desktop background to chase those sell sell sell demons away You're welcome, glad you like it. I like it a lot too! Looking very very optimistic. Those "sellsellsell" panic makers are just typical in days of drops Your chart will set the demons away a bit for sure Thanks roslinpl, Yes, the identical pattern of cynical behaviour has also happened at the tail end of all previous corrections. I attribute it to people attempting to drive down the price before buying in. In fact I find it reassuring that they act the same this time, if they didn't I would be slightly spooked, thinking there was something different about this cycle. But no they act exactly the same, the pattern seems the same, all is in alignment for the next rise I think the percentage of traders intentionally trying to drive down the price, so they can buy back at a cheaper price, is small. I'd attribute the tail end dips more to just plain old human psychology. It's a big game of chicken. Wait to see who blinks.
