3841  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitfundify - Give the gift of bitcoin! on: February 25, 2018, 08:37:10 AM
Bitfundify is a new and easy to use Bitcoin fundraising service for all of your special events.

Users can set up a personal Bitcoin wedding registry or raise money for a milestone or charity event. There are never any fees and the funds are sent directly into your personal bitcoin wallet.

Join our community!
www.bitfundify.com

Are these only two wedding listings legitimate people trying out your service or just a placeholder?

I don't understand why you have to go through such a hard process to donate bitcoin. If you want them to actually just receive the bitcoins into their own wallets without any hassle, literally just get a bitpay bitcoin payment ID out there or just a traditional bitcoin address.

If there are never any fees and you're just providing a service, there is absolutely no need for "ordering" a donation.

It has potential, if it can end up as a crowdfunding service for new gadgets or ideas. But just as a fundraising service with no fees I don't see this business model working. Unless you are able to plug in credit card payments which is instantly and automatically converted to BTC.
3842  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Smart Bitcoin Investments - the #1 source for Bitcoin investing knowledge on: February 25, 2018, 07:59:15 AM
Want to learn how to effectively invest in Bitcoin for the long-term?

Our newest guide on How To Invest In Bitcoin has just been released. We've even added a Table of Contents to make the website easier to navigate.  Grin

Check it out here: https://www.smartbitcoininvestments.com/how-to-invest-in-bitcoin/

I like the fact that you're explaining everything in an easy to understand manner. I also like the fact that you're putting out all the warnings out there nice and early so that nobody goes out of their way to invest in bitcoin only to realise that they've just lost their entire life savings after suffering a single crash.

Since your site is a pretty investment oriented site, I would steer clear of reiterating info that everyone already has even though you can definitely put it in an entirely separate section. IMO if you want to talk about how you can invest in BTC, then you should just stick to that. Leave the hardware wallets etc. to another section of the site.

Also I'm pretty sure you have only talked about how to use coinbase, and none of the other exchanges. Should add some info about other major platforms as well, especially how to make a profit from LBC p2p trading.
3843  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BitcoinInvite.com: Is it a SCAM or Legit? on: February 25, 2018, 07:39:12 AM
Is this site is true and paying? As of now, there's no review in other review sites that shows it is paying. However, the earning amount is very questionable because no such program will pay you an amount of 0.002 just for inviting. Can we found out if it is a SCAM one, then let's move it to SCAM section to better inform people out there.

You have to invite a minimum of 5 users before you can withdraw your funds. It means 5 ridiculously hard surveys to get through. And sometimes these surveys aren't really surveys but dodgy sites trying to collect your credit card information as well as your personal information which they will use to spam you with unsolicited calls. I tried these surveys before and most of the time, I didn't even get credited when I completed them.

Don't do it. They're probably not going to pay you either.

Either they're getting paid more than $10 per survey you do, which is unlikely, or they're not going to pay you. That simple. There are no positive reviews anywhere on the net.
3844  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchange with lowest BTC withdrawal Fee? on: February 25, 2018, 07:31:34 AM
Thanks for the information. I see a lot of people asking for this and it's nice to have a list.

For those who think that exchanges are currently charging a high rate for withdrawals, you'd be absolutely right. However exchanges will usually increase fees when the network load is big and it's affecting the transaction fees in a negative way, and don't decrease the fee or only decrease a little in a long period of time when the network load goes down like right now.

Don't use exchanges as a wallet. In fact if you just used a wallet right now, you'd be looking at upwards of 90% of savings on transaction fees. Most of the fees are pretty reasonable when put into context the tx fees a month or two ago.
3845  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: (SCAM ALERT) Cryptopia stole my Money!!!!!!! on: February 25, 2018, 07:02:02 AM
(SCAM ALERT) Cryptopia stole my Money!!!!!!!
I withdrew UNIT coins 3 weeks ago and withdrawal status 'processing', so I opend a ticket next day, since then No answer at all. I know now the wallet is back online and working as you can see in uploaded image, and still 'processing' meaing Cryptopia stole my money

Unfortunately, cryptopia is having some pretty major issues with withdrawal right now. It's definitely not just you.

Everyone's been frustrated with them recently and it's for good reason. They're just flat out being dicks to their customers. Also with their CSC controversy going on it does not help their public image either.

If you have any more balance on their site I would suggest trying to withdraw them in smaller chunks. People say that bigger amounts get flagged quite easily and take a long time at processing, while smaller amounts go through without problems. Once you get your withdrawal avoid them as far as you can until they get their shit together.
3846  Economy / Speculation / Re: As BTC hovers around $10K, is it gathering momentum for another round of uptrend on: February 25, 2018, 06:29:41 AM
Though price reaches to al low as $9.9K, price still gets well supported above 10K, if BTC can't break upwards, is it gathering momentum and get itself ready for next round of uptrend?

Feel free to leave your comments below.

We're going to test the $9k support level for sure. I doubt that we'll be able to get above $10k within the week.

Probably still going to see some panic dumping because people seem to feel like BTC's got no room to grow again after this current crash. I don't think that it's going to be as big as a dump in January, though.

This dump is mostly still caused by profit takers at the $12k level, which makes sense. Honestly there is nothing to worry about and I still see BTC stabilising at above $10k for most of this year, after the price recovers.

3847  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Choosing Between Payment Gateways on: February 25, 2018, 06:07:18 AM
Hi guys.. I want some advice in terms of which one to as a payment gateway. I’m mainly looking for cheap fees & easy installation. I’ve been chatting to paybear.io (on their telegram channel), they seem to be fairly new to the industry but also have really cheap fees... Anyone already using them?  Otherwise, what other providers are there that are worth checking out?

Paybear does seem like a professional site. Their interface looks great to work with as well.

They are indeed relatively new. I have no idea how much you can trust them with at this stage. Haven't seen any negative reviews around though.

Coinpayments and Shapeshift are two of the largest and most trusted payment gateways. Though shapshift doesn't technically allow you to store funds with them, but only serves as a altcoin -> bitcoin converter. Coinpayments has a lot more flexibility and there's a range of things that you can do with them, including storing funds in their wallets. Bitpay on the other hand is more working with fiat type of site.

Up to you, do some research on your own part. But these are the main ones.
3848  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: v1ljar SCAMMER ALERT on: February 25, 2018, 05:32:09 AM
What happened::SCAMMED ME 80$ WEBMONEY

Scammers Profile Link:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=378715

Reference Link:
Amount Scammed: 80$
Payment Method:Webmoney
Proof of Payment:https://prnt.sc/ij9ul4
PM/Chat Logs: https://prnt.sc/ij9v5f
Additional Notes:Please Dont Deal With Him Scammer

Unless you can chargeback from webmoney, which I don't think you can easily since they are known to be a generally irreversible payment method, then there is nothing we can do about it in this case.

Next time, use a free escrow. $80 isn't a whole lot of money but still enough to attract scammers at your place. Especially if you are dealing with irreversible payment methods such as BTC, Webmoney, Perfectmoney/Payeer.

Once he scams you, there is no recourse and you feel absolute shit.

Don't ever underestimate the power of escrow.
3849  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ADBLURB SCAM ICO on: February 25, 2018, 04:59:10 AM
Their site is a mess.

The audio that plays when you enter is just terrible. Everything on their site doesn't even load properly which essentially just screams scam at you. None of the images work either, and Luc removed his apparently as well, as aTriz said.

If this doesn't scream scam at you, then I don't think anything will.

Plus, a quick search about Luc reveals no Linkedin profiles, no social media or resume. Just the same advertisement of their project repeated numerous times on different crypto news sites. Either unprofessional, or Luc is made up.

Anyways, even if this is legit, I don't think that it's a project worth investing in if they are so sloppy with their management of their website.
3850  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia stole our coins on: February 24, 2018, 03:10:17 AM
No matters what happens to the blockchain itself, I think that it is fair ot say that you and the exchange had an agreement in which cryptopia owed you this amount of coins. If they didn't have trust in the blockchain then they should have never listed the coin in the beginning. That was their fault for not being careful enough with the selection of coins.

I saw one of these complaints with casinocoin some time before, similar thing I think with the 51% attack.

They should at least partially or fully reimburse with IOUs to their account holders. But the situation is complex since it is not entirely their fault either. But it's not the only problem they're having at their exchange at the moment, there are numerous others.

Cryptopia security is really bad . They will let anyone came in deposit and withdraw big amount of coins without a problem. During csc 51% attack hackers deposit 9 million csc all at once (csc total supply was 38 million) how cryptopia let someone deposit 1/4 all of total supply at once so for example of someone deposit 4 million bitcoin all at once in a exchange they shouldn't find out!!?
But now they just says it's not our fault and they blaming csc coin .
Even if this is true why they list this coin?

And I agree with you it's not completely cryptopias foult because of this i want my btc not csc . 1 million csc now worth 200 btc but i want my same amount that i give it to cryptopia instead of 1 million csc. Around 1.5 btc!

Exactly, when you realize that they have withdrawal problems on bigger withdrawals, supposedly as a "safety" protocol, but they are able to credit 9 million casinocoins to a user's account without any security concerns, you realise how absurd that is.

They should have thoroughly researched the risk of a 51% attack in this case, before listing this wallet.

Your request of a refund is very very fair. However I don't know how you got your 200 BTC valuation. Casinocoins are currently traded at just under 20 sats, meaning that the amount you stored with them would be worth 0.2 BTC right now.

I doubt they'll actively try to fulfill compensation for their customers, however. They don't seem that willing to do anything right now on the support end.
3851  Economy / Exchanges / Re: YOBIT support please reply to me, i am getting desperate !! on: February 24, 2018, 02:33:02 AM
Greetings Yobit team,
Exactly 70 days ago I have sent 4780 HK tokens to my yobit wallet. This was worth at the time around 40.000 USD when HKN was 8 dollar.
The tokens were sent from orderbook.io to Yobit HKN wallet. The tokens need to be recovered manually is what i understand, for that i need
a member from Yobit exchange to assist me. Still to this day i have not received the tokens in my yobit wallet. I have tried to contact yobit
support numerous times but have not gotten any reaction yet.

I have already contacted members and even the CEO of HKN about this issue. I have been forwarded to yobit support by the ceo of HKN
and will get back to him as soon as i get a reply from Yobit. Their contact support are also trying to contact Yobit from what i understand.

I have sent multiple tickets to yobit through my account on the exchange but still no reply. Anyone that has information for me to get in contact
with yobit please add to this thread, i would appreciate it !!

To the yobit team if you need any additional info to solve this matter let me know and i will provide it.

My contact at HACKEN = Lyubomyr Pavlyk

The worst part of it all is that they don't give a crap when you try to resolve the problem with them by contacting them. Instead of actually solving the problem, they ignore you all day long, while they are listing new coins on their site daily.

They've become a shithole of an exchange that nobody should be using.

Their recent complaints have shifted from the "awaiting approval" withdrawals to ETH smart contract deposits that doesn't get credited into the user's yobit account. And yes, apparently they have to be handled manually. But with their level of competency on the support end, it takes ages or just remains unresolved for months.

3853  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Seems like BitPay have forgotten one teensy little aspect of crypto. on: February 24, 2018, 01:24:47 AM
Instant Transactions. Not instant confirmation(depending on the coin), but instant transactions, so color me surprised when I had failed to fully pay an invoice and I requested a refund.

Quote
While we typically process refunds within 24 hours of submitting the refund request, please allow 1-2 business days for processing. We will notify you when the refund is complete.

I also never knew that coins utilizing mining and a public blockchain only work on business days.

Furthermore, they have botched the payment method by requiring Bitcoin Payment Protocol, they hide the payment address and require apps to pay, on mobile with no dedicated wallet I use other online services..and I couldn't do it, it was thanks to a kind soul on reddit that I saw the method to find the payment address.

I have no idea why they have to manually refund transactions. If the transactions are confirmed, then it should be able to be automatically and instantly refunded to the payer if there is an error. Just like shapeshift.

If they require you to wait for up to 2 business days, then that's just complete and utter BS.

Also when I paid for something via Bitpay I also realized that they now require you to pay to payment tags, instead of just bitcoin addresses. They have to understand that not all wallets have support for this feature. I'd say probably at least half doesn't.
3854  Economy / Lending / Re: 22k solid gold collateral for 0.04btc. Must be in lagos on: February 23, 2018, 10:16:29 PM
I need a loan of 0.04btc.
I will pay back 0.06btc in 1month.
I am giving my gold bar and solid gold chain worth 0.1btc as collateral.
Please interested lenders should be based in Lagos,  thanks

You know it would require one to check to make sure its real gold and not fake correct? That would likely also cost, even if you had a certificate. Why not just take it to a pawn shop and pawn it and buy bitcoin with that?
Yes I know.  They don't charge to test that.  That's why I said the person must be in Lagos cos that's where I am presently.  . There are no pawnshops close to me here,  if anyone knows one,  please suggest.  That will even be better.

Your loan request is very specific. Doubt there will be anyone in Lagos that is interested in filling this loan and taking gold as collateral, that also has a $700+ piece of equipment to test out the authenticity of the gold pieces.

Just a quick search shows that there are indeed pawn shops in Lagos: http://www.cashdown.com.ng/most-wanted/ and https://etmoneyshop.com/.

Apparently you will also need your proof of ownership of the gold pieces, but if you do have them then you should be able to get a loan from a local pawn shop with that as collateral quite easily. I would suggest either getting some pics of the collateral so that you have more of a chance, or locking this thread.
3855  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] COINSATURN *Beta. Aggregator of top cryptotraders/coins tweets and more on: February 23, 2018, 09:28:08 AM
I like this aggregator a lot. I think it adds a new layer of ease in checking the news that people require for their daily crypto activity. The design can be improved to be more slick, right now everything is cramped up into a small space.

I tried to see the blogs, they load extremely slowly(>5-6 secs on my computer, not sure if just my internet speeds though), but tweets work fine. The text is a bit squished up in the middle, perhaps make the viewing panel larger?

Adding some crypto prices on top of the webpage could be helpful for traders as well. Good idea, and good luck with this project.
3856  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Please I am needing assistance in retrieving "Private Keys" for "Watch Only" on: February 23, 2018, 08:58:15 AM
I need assistance is retrieving "Private Keys" for "Watch only" Transactions in my Block Chain Account? It is also telling me that I have to consolidate multiple Unspent transactions because I have so many smaller ones under $50.00?
But I need some one who can help me with acquiring "Private Keys" so that I can withdraw from MyBlock Chain account.
Can anyone help me with this Issue please ?

Thank You Larry

Watch only wallets are literally just that. Watch only.

If you type in any address then you will receive the balance and the full transaction history of the address. Unlike traditional bank accounts, everything on the bitcoin blockchain is public and accessible - doesn't mean you can actually spend the coins, though. It's like trying to get the private key off a random address you find, you just can't.

Please speak out if you have gotten scammed by anyone using this "watch only" method.

It's not unheard of and people have been trying to impress their friends with this method ever since blockchain.info existed.
3857  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex phishig mail on: February 23, 2018, 08:15:07 AM
Just a heads up. I just received a phishing mail which looks like it's from Poloniex requiring me to enable two factor authentication. The lamp lit over my head when i luckily tried the wrong password and i logged in. Site is at https://secure.poloniex.work (not whole url) and it's a bit different namely fonts on top.

Stay safe.

Phishing sites are going to be there, as long as legit websites are there as well.

I've never received poloniex phishing links, but certainly have received a bunch of other phishing sites.

Always check the email that you're receiving from the right sender, and that the email address that they have been sent from isn't a spoofed email address. Also check that the URL you are clicking on isn't directing you to a phishing site.

Enable 2fa just in case, phishers can't sign in unless they get access to your 2fa code. Thanks for the warning, OP.
3858  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is Dropping, and Experts Can't Agree Why on: February 23, 2018, 07:18:57 AM
I agree with pooya, it's not going to rise in the same sort of magnitude as last year, but doesn't mean that there won't be any rises at all. I would be a little more careful in my speculation, though. I'd actually say that ATH from this point is going to be hard.

If we continue our drop downwards, then the price could indeed end up just like last time, at around $6k due to panic selling within the markets. But I don't think that's going to be the case this time.

We're simply seeing a retracement back to around a week ago. Doesn't change the overall momentum for bitcoin, long term speaking. As adoption goes up, BTC should continue its way up, but we're definitely not as bullish as last year.
3859  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase BTC withdraw fees decent today! on: February 23, 2018, 06:36:23 AM
I still think they should offer the user some fee control. Not everyone cares if a confirm happens in 10 minutes or an hour.

Maybe an option to choose between high/med/low would be appreciated for sure, but looking at how other services and exchanges still work with ancient fixed fees, Coinbase is doing a much better job than the majority of the other services. I think the chances are on the higher side that they will only implement different priority levels if the demand from their users is there. If you want to get Coinbase to notice something, then make sure it gets picked up by a lot people on social media, because the mass is always a powerful way of getting things done, and especially when it comes to a large entity as Coinbase that is known to be unresponsive through their regular contact channels.

I think that what you're suggesting here is probably a lot more likely to be implemented by coinbase than the custom fee sends. Low/med/high is a great balance between control that everyone's talking about, and flexibility.

I was surprised that they are doing 7-8 sats/byte now because the last time I did a withdrawal they were asking for 0.00224btc for me to send out just 0.02btc which was just unheard of.
Without a choice to customize how you want to send it from their service as a wallet isn't the best way to run a blockchain wallet business one bit.
Should follow what blockchain.info is doing if they want to stay competitive and not been seen as scamming their customers in the fees they are charging. Roll Eyes

Don't forget that coinbase isn't actually a wallet. It is actually an exchange that lets you store funds on it.

Therefore, you don't have control over your private keys to sign messages. This is different to blockchain.info. The reason they were asking these kind of high fees were because of the high amount of unconfirmed transactions and everyone is trying to compete for a fast confirmation. So it's not just them that's setting the fee, it's basically everyone on the network that's sending transactions.
3860  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin hit 15000$ by the end of this month ? on: February 22, 2018, 11:18:58 PM
Bitcoin is slowly in the recovery state...
I think it will hit the 15000$ mark by the end of this month..
Is that so?

It's not happening. And for those who said that it's guaranteed, that's just crazy.

Nothing that involves speculation is guaranteed. That's the only truth.

We're currently correcting as a result of the huge recovery that we've seen so far. We will see now whether or not the $10k floor holds up or not. If we don't see that $10k level hold up then we can actually see it adjust downwards to $9000-9500 in the short term.

Either way, I think that we're quite far away from $15k at the moment. You'd have to wait till at least late next month for a chance to test teh $15k level imo.
