3781  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Bitcoin become a long-term trusted store of value? on: March 05, 2018, 07:58:53 AM
Whether one should invest in bitcoin or not depends on whether you think Bitcoin will become a long-term trusted store of value.
If it does become a long-term trusted store of value, BTC should trade around $2,000,000 a coin (depending on how many coins are lost and are actually in circulation). That is over 100x the price of where BTC is today.
If BTC does not become a long-term trusted store of value, its likely price will be close to zero (unless it becomes a "cool" collectible... which is a possibility).
So if you think BTC has a 10% chance of becoming a long-term trusted store of value, it is a good investment with a nice expected return. It is still very risky but professional investors should invest some small portion of their portfolio in this case.

I think that right now, people are not aware of the potential bitcoin has yet, with many critics calling it a scam or a ponzi scheme.

But in reality I think it's one of the only replacements for gold/silver or other precious metals or commodities as a viable long term store of value. It is decentralised, it is the first crypto, it has a capped number that can ever exist.

Essentially, nobody can abuse the printing press or set interest rates to control how much money is in existence and whether currency needs to be debased, which often has ended in hyperinflation in the cases of Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Argentina, you name it.

BTC in my honest opinion will become a global store of value with even an edge to gold. If you're investing in BTC you should ask yourself if you believe in that happening too, if yes, then you're ready to hold for the long term.
3782  Economy / Exchanges / Re: user and password in bittrex on: March 05, 2018, 07:07:24 AM
I changed my password but when i login to my account in my summery some unkown ip login is in my history after changing my password yet!!

and for 2fa it must work just with one cell phone yes? but I scan my QR-code in bittrex with my second cell phone and the system show the code on second cellphone too !!

so if hacker login to my account he can active 2fa in his cell phone too!! is it correct ?! Shocked

The safest step to take would be to withdraw all funds from bittrex, and just ditch your account. You'll be able to find the level of service bittrex gives you on other exchanges anyways and since you already know that you have a hacker on your back, it's probably the safest thing to do.

Did you have 2fa enabled when the hacker logged in again? Are you sure it wasn't just you using VPN/Tor with an IP that you didn't recognise?

I don't know if you can add multiple devices as 2fa but to log in, you need code from at least one of the 2fa devices. And the hacker does not have that, so theoretically he doesn't have a chance of logging in.

Last resort, either ditch bittrex, or tell support about the situation and see what they reply with. But first, get your funds out.
3783  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Fund Vanilla Debit Card with Bitcoins - Instant Load Virtual Credit Card? on: March 05, 2018, 05:46:15 AM
im in need for an instant loadable credit card,
without verification.

loading possible instantly , with bitcoin if possible.
limit 500 USD

vanillaone debit card can be used with bitcoin somehow?

anyone can recommend something to pay with credit card online asap if you only have bitcoin?

Doubt that you will be able to find any ones without verification, unless you are able to advertise for it in which case you'll be looking at buying the card from other people. The prepaid card can be carded or obtained illegitimately in that case.

All the bitcoin debit cards now require identification, Wirex used to offer 0 verification cards but I don't think anyone does anymore.

If you're solely trying to buy something online, try services that offers "buy-anything-with-bitcoin" type of business model. Examples: purse.io, all4btc, dashbargain, or get someone trustworthy to do it for you as a currency exchange deal. There are risks and always conduct research on who you're dealing with.

Good luck.
3784  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: POLONIEX deposit still not accredited after 50 days on: March 05, 2018, 01:16:21 AM
No, i deposited on the right address

No idea why else they would not even show it as a pending transaction then, even though it's got full confirmations.

This is indeed unacceptable. But poloniex is known for these types of complaints.

Hopefully with Circle buying poloniex things will finally take a turn for the better. Before they actually move new staff and make new changes you'll just have to wait for support to respond, and if they don't, there is absolutely nothing we can do to help you here. It's an internal issue that they have to solve, we don't have the rights to make changes to your balance as outsiders.

Do update us on the status of this, though.
3785  Economy / Lending / Re: Need to loan for 10 days on: March 05, 2018, 12:54:34 AM
Hello guys i need a 0.05 btc loans.

I'm newbie here so i can't prove myself but you can give me your skype to show you my proof of other earning and bank account

If you need a loan which you have identification for, then please get your loan elsewhere on a p2p funding website.

On bitcointalk we don't care about how much you earn, or how powerful or trustworthy you are on any other platforms or in real life. What we do care about is your reputation on the forum, as well as collateral.

ThatRandom already said this, read the stickies about no collateral no loan before you are requesting a loan. We cannot liquidate your proof of income for real tangible cash, so what's the point of having it?

Lock the thread, if you don't have collateral.
3786  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to $15k in March, $8.5k by June, then $30+k by Q1/2019? on: March 05, 2018, 12:46:34 AM
Wouldn't make any sense for bitcoin to be dumped down to $8.5k by June and then all of a sudden recover back up to $30+k in the first quarter of the following year. I don't think that that scenario has ever happened.

It definitely could happen given the volatility of bitcoin, but it's not likely or the most likely outcome.

If BTC does get down to $8.5k or potentially less it means that the bull market is over. And in that case, it's not going to recover until at least 2020 which is the year when the next block reward halving occurs. Historically, that has always happened. And there was not a lot of activity for the year just before the halving since it doesn't really have anything to hype about in that year generally.
3787  Economy / Exchanges / Re: user and password in bittrex on: March 04, 2018, 07:47:51 PM
Dears
some one hacked my user and password in bittrex but didn't hack my email yet....can he withdraw my account without access to my email ?  Huh Huh Huh my 2FA is off too.

In this instance, change the password first so that you essentially lock him out of the account. I would not suggest getting support involved because a) they probably can't do anything and b) they may lock your account indefinitely and it's hard to get control of it back.

Bittrex uses mandatory email 2fa on withdrawals. Without access to your email, he can't withdraw. I'm not 100% sure about API but I'm sure bittrex probably thought of that as well and implemented some sort of verification offsite before one is allowed to withdraw through an API(not certain about this).

Regardless, change your password as well as any similar/same passwords on other sites. It's better to be safe than sorry in dealing with anything that has or stores a monetary value online.
3788  Economy / Exchanges / Re: -50℅ from withdrawal fees on binance on: March 04, 2018, 07:42:51 PM
Hi btlkers , as mentioned in the title ; Binance has lowered the withdrawal fees for around -50℅ ie it was 100k sat but now it's just 50k sat .
I think it is a nice path from'em toward the trading community .

What are your thoughts guys ?

It's better than not reducing it which is what a lot of exchanges have done and capitalise on the almost 1000% profits that they are getting on each withdrawal if they were charging 0.001 BTC for withdrawals and paying normal fees for it.

Even though this reduction is not to-scale to the actual reduction in fees, I think that they're giving themselves some leeway so that if the fees go a bit higher they do not need to change their withdrawal policies/fees once again.

Positive change from Binance for sure and proves that they are one of the best exchanges to use at the moment, barring the suspicious maintenance event that occurred last month/Jan which caused a panic.
3789  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hourpower investment scheme on: March 04, 2018, 07:22:17 PM
HourPower is an investment scheme where they claim to give back 1.48% back of your investment PER HOUR for 72 HOURS. If you provide over $500, you get a higher %. The MINIMUM you can invest is $5.

Has anyone here had an experince with them? Hourpower.biz

It's a scam for sure. No doubt about it.

Their returns on investments is extremely unsustainable and it probably isn't even a ponzi scheme. What they'll do is just take your money, and then run with it essentially. There isn't even a ponzi element to it due to it being so unsustainable in nature.

Also, I would not be surprised if all its stats are faked. Over 100k registrants apparently with 80k+ active accounts, when there is probably only double that amount of active accounts on bitcointalk which is a much bigger site. Site is either made by a cheap designer or from a template. Don't invest or participate in their affiliate earning program.
3790  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: HashFlare worth to reinvest ??!! on: March 04, 2018, 07:04:00 AM
Hi guys ! I have several rigs also I have HashFlare contact with only 5 TH/s with SHA256
I wanna know your oppinion  about to to see In the future it might worth to reinvest to my contract witch will be end of December this year. Im try to to say to compare and see all consequences in the future(I have 9 month left).  (Not bct are bubble ,nothing like this) but if btc gonna be stay constantly between 10K -11K for several month or a year it will be worth to me DO NOT reinvest just take my bcc out.
Somebody has a REALISTIC again REALISTIC hope or prediction what to do ??

Realistically speaking unless you are expecting the respective altcoins and bitcoins being mined on your contract going up in value, you're not going to reinvest and expect a profit at the end. Hashflare is most likely running a long term ponzi scheme as well.

You're basically taking on two very not worthy risks here - both the risk of Hashflare going under and the risk of your contract cryptos not going up in value. Better to just invest in cryptos instead of reinvesting your funds.

BTW, move this to service discussions, please. Service announcements is for businesses that have just launched or just went on bitcointalk to post their announcement threads.
3791  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: New here and want to offer loans on: March 04, 2018, 07:00:53 AM
Hello everybody,

I have about 7296 dogecoin (about 0.00452381) that I'm offering as loans in poloniex.
Everything were Ok until Bitcoin has fallen during last weeks.
I would like to offer invest by offering loans in different platforms (here for exemple) but I don't really know how it works.

1- Any other trusted platform to offer loans (like poloniex) with good rates?
2- How it works here.

N.B: I'm new in this forum and I'm not looking for lending like bitconnect etc..

Best regards

First, move your thread to lending or service discussions. Long term offers are exactly that, long term offers. It's definitely not the place or subforum to discuss how to get started on lending to other people.

7k doge isn't a lot of money to lend out. To earn a decent interest, you need at least a few Bitcents(0.01 BTC) to get started.

Make sure you read all the stickies such as the "no collateral no loan" rule, before you open your lending business. Once you've done that just open a thread with all your terms and conditions written in it and how to apply for a loan.

Not sure where else other than poloniex you'll be able to lend out your coins for margin traders, though. But lending on forum can be very rewarding for sure.
3792  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Freewallet.org - "missing" tokens for 1.5 months on: March 04, 2018, 06:29:15 AM
This morning, when I woke up, look to the Freewallet App as I always do every morning for 2 months and... THE WABI TOKENS WERE IN MY WALLET!!!!

I want to thank you everybody for your support. The freewallet customer service was slow, and the communication wasnt the best, but the last emails were answered fast and it seems like they are improving. It has been a long and hard way but Freewallet did their part and give my tokens back.

Awesome! Glad to see that everyone was happy at the end and you got your Wabi tokens back. Next time do be more careful when sending any sort of tokens, check if it's the right wallet to send to and if it is going to be compatible with their wallet.

Yes, their service was slow. But hey, you can't ignore the fact that they've actually just refunded you. That's not bad at all.

@Freewallet thanks for your efforts, but next time, perhaps work on a procedure to make this faster. Smiley

@pablo, you may lock the thread now since everything is sorted out now.
3793  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you guys agree that $12,500 remains the most resistance for now? on: March 04, 2018, 06:25:52 AM
As price remains oscillating, we don’t have much to say about the price action. But apparently, the uptrend today remains weak since we haven’t seen a continuous expansion in volumes, meaning that price will keep oscillating within a narrow range in the next few sessions with resistance between $11,500 and $11,800. But the target at $12,500 is clear and price will keep moving towards the major resistance until major bearish news emerges.

Original by Kuang Ren, translated and posted by AICoin Jami.

Feel free to leave your comments below

I'd say that the strongest resistance should be at $12k, still. The highest point during this stretch of recovery from the dump down to $6k was around $11,900 as per coinmarketcap stats, which means that $12k is obviously a huge resistance.

We're seeing a small pullback as well at the moment, with price going slightly down today with a -1.5% growth.

Expect some consolidation at $10,500-11,500 with this $1k window before any moves upwards. And when it does move upwards it'll go directly to test that $12k resistance. If it is indeed broken then $12500 shouldn't be an issue.
3794  Economy / Speculation / Re: Weekend disaster? on: March 04, 2018, 06:16:34 AM
Have you noticed something mysterious in crypto price: weekend disaster.

The most price drops tend to happen on weekends.

During weekends, price almost certainly drops, sometimes even crash. Price rarely goes up on weekends. Especially on Sundays. You may look at the price chart of major coins, BTC BCH ETH LTC .. in the last 3 months, which all seem to confirm this.

Why?Any explanation?

This seems to be becoming a trend, it could be because of many coincidences or it could be a legit pattern.

I personally think that it's just a coincidence. There isn't too much logic in prices dropping at weekends compared to the weekdays. Like what reason would you have? Markets are still open on weekends and nothing changes. Also even if major traders take a break on the weekends, it shouldn't have an effect. It's not like they need money exclusively for the weekends.

Although it could be reinforcing its own pattern through past repetitions with no basis. ie previously it happened by coincidence, but after a few times in a row people had this psychological effect where they started trading the pattern, resulting in the dumps on weekends. Doesn't really concern the long term growth of BTC though.
3795  Economy / Speculation / Re: Guess we're not out of this bear cycle yet, huh? on: March 04, 2018, 05:37:30 AM
So when in the world will we break out of this bear cycle? When do you think it will end? This is a good opportunity for those who do not already own, but I don't know about you but I want it to go beyond $20k already. I guess we'll let more people in now so we can go up to that next level of a bull run... Cryptoverse only knows.

Short term I've think we're already broken it. We've reached heights of $11k and seems to be quite stable. I doubt that after this we'll see any dumps for the week and prices should be going straight up to $13k or more. We're waiting for the signal at $11.5k or so.

Medium term, aka timeframe of a few years, we could still be on a downward slope. Referring back to 2013, it could take a few years to go back to its ATH. I expect something similar with less of a dump and more stable prices, as well as a faster recovery due to the growing population understanding and using cryptos.

Long term nobody should be worried about this "bear cycle". It's only a matter of time before we break out again, whether it be days, months, or years.
3796  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2017 was maybe the last era of bitcoin? on: March 04, 2018, 05:32:34 AM
2009 Bitcoin woke up and failed.
2010 Bitcoin made a little come back, and again failed.
2011 Bitcoin died.
2012 Bitcoin died.
2013 Bitcoin died.
2014 Bitcoin died.
2015 Bitcoin died.
2016 Bitcoin died.
2017 Bitcoin died.
2018 Bitcoin died.
2019 Bitcoin died.
2020 Bitcoin died.
Jump in time....
2030 Bruhhh, it's at $250k now? Anyway, Bitcoin died.
2031 Bitcoin died.
How many more times do people want it to die?

The more people keep focusing on factors that don't matter, the more behind they will be, and the less opportunities you'll be able to utilize. On top of that, if you don't understand why Bitcoin has value in the first place, and don't see how much future potential there still is, you probably never will. While firm holders still hold their sub $1k coins, everyone after that keeps cashing out tiny profits and buys back at higher levels, which continued till where we stand right now. How much more proof do you guys need that Bitcoin's potential is far above current levels, and far above $100k as well. You hold the future, but yet you keep selling it to get what? Fiat? Nice joke. Wink

This post sort of made me lol.

It's indeed funny that people are putting so much trust into fiat currencies and saying to sell bitcoin whenever possible, even if it is evident that it is at some sort of low like this year. They've been saying sell bitcoin, bitcoin's dead ever since bitcoin was born.

I have no idea why they still get the limelight and people continue to say that "year xxx will be the last year bitcoin gets any sort of major media attention" or anything like that.

I mean come on. Bitcoin's success is only partially dependent on its price, it's more about how many people use it and how well it stores its value. Both has been on the increase ever since it came out.
3797  Economy / Lending / Re: LocalBitcoins Exchanger needing a little loan on: March 04, 2018, 04:56:31 AM
Unfortunately it's not a scam. I have recent proof of income from last month showing consistent trade volume if need be? Unfortunately, no collateral. Honestly, I have even better history than this. If anybody's interested let me know please! I've traded 50 - 100 in the last 2+ years, do you really think I need to scam for $400? Less be real plox =-O

Unless you have collateral, nobody is going to lend to you.

I know that it could well be a legitimate attempt to get a loan, but nobody knows that for sure. And not a lot of lenders here are naive enough to actually lend a newbie a no collateral loan of a few hundred dollars.

Understand that offsite reputation, unless something special, means nothing here.

I would kindly suggest to lock this thread since I cannot see anyone lending to you, otherwise they would have already offered their terms. Also read the stickies: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577765.0. If you don't, then you may be risking a neg trust here.
3798  Economy / Lending / Re: LocalBitcoins Exchanger needing a little loan on: March 03, 2018, 06:16:57 AM
https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/profile/Southsidecoins/

This is my profile, I'm here today to request a sum of $400 in BTC! I would use it to start exchanging on my account again and would be willing to return 650 to the individual, I could even coin the investor daily? If anybody is interested. Let me know?
I understand that I'm relatively new to these forums but I have very good history with localbitcoins!

Even if you are legit, there is no way to tell whether or not you're trying to scam here.

All lenders will see is a newbie with their first post requesting a loan.

Understand that though a lot of people do use localbitcoins, the reputation scores on localbitcoins mean absolutely 0 because every trade is conducted through escrow and does not indicate your actual trustworthiness. A loan cannot be handled through an escrow/middleman, which means that the trust score on LBC does not apply.

Lock the thread please.
3799  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e a.k.a WEX won't give me access to my account.... on: March 03, 2018, 04:45:08 AM
Was anyone else locked out of their account due to inactivity? This was never in their agreement terms when I signed up.
I have a record of all original bank deposits. I have the same email. A complex password and 2-step authentication.

Seems they are making up the rules as they go and they intend on taking my investments.

Anyone else have this problem and get your digital currency out? I actually like the BTC-e trading platform and was looking to day trade.

So much for that.....

There're numerous people that have the same issue.

They're a very shady exchange to use, and even though they were one of the largest they were always considered to be dodgy in their activities. So should have seen this coming when you used them to store funds.

No idea why they're requiring ID, but they're doing it probably to either deny your access to funds or actually complying with regulation authorities. Both cases you can't argue with them, they'll probably just ignore you with their shitty support.

It's not looking good. People who actually got verified for inactivity had to provide screenshots of balances, which is absurd. Otherwise you'll get no BTC. Who takes regular screenshots of their balances? Unfortunately, nothing we can do to help on the forum. Nobody on here has the right to restore access to your account. But I do wish you good luck dealing with their support.
3800  Economy / Reputation / Re: This thread's page is really suspicious. on: March 03, 2018, 04:18:33 AM
I don't know if this is just a coincidence but this is really something. Newbies straightly posting in this thread page with less than a minute intervals. Can anyone check this thread?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2095908.1900

All of these newbies are obviously farmed accounts.

They are all posting similarly with similar usernames, similar register dates, etc. All spamming in megathreads and nothing else.

Don't worry, because of the new merit system, they will not be able to get out of the newbie status. If they just spend their time posting away in megathreads, it won't yield them a rank up anymore since nobody is going to merit them.

Still though, if a DT member can tag all of these accounts it'll be much appreciated. I've made a rough list which could possibly be incomplete:
