3861  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today Bitcoin Turns 12 Years ! on: January 03, 2021, 01:20:31 PM
And here it goes it turns twelve, might still be up even if we see Buffet's casket (who knows), and looks like he'll be the one to pop up before Bitcoin does. Let's see if I, you, Buffet, or Bitcoin will be the first to implode.  Grin

Happy 12th Birthday Bitcoin Network.
3862  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are people buying BTC @ $27000+ idiots? on: January 02, 2021, 10:30:07 PM
Those idiots probably are institutional investors and it might be an idiocracy in their mind but I think someone is eyeing that Bitcoin might hit that 1 trillion market cap. Might be idiot for shrimps but these whales still thinking it as a buying opportunity and I'll not be surprised if they made it to 4x or 5x from their initial investments.
3863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why did Funfair do a HUGE spike on Jan 1st? on: January 02, 2021, 04:32:27 PM
Might be triggered by some p&d groups. Imagine some buyers bought at top thinking it will make a much higher price, that for sure hurt in the butt who just being FOMO'ed.

It seems like funfair was following the trend
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/funfair/markets/

The price already dumped again and this is what we have called that as pump and dump coin. There's no good news about fundair but the pump happened. That means if the pump was happening without any reason that backed it to be the fundamental reason.
If it's following the trend then it should be this day and not yesterday as Bitcoin making highs again at $32k. I'd say just welcome to crypto and this is just some normal days for a pump. No news on how it pump as well as how it dump. It was a FUN new year.

3865  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchanges That Closed/Shut Down in 2020 on: January 02, 2021, 03:26:45 PM
Among the list from this article, I think MtGox, Cryptopia, and QuadrigaCX are the only exchanges that ring a bell as they really make a noise in the crypto community. I think this may not be the last of all the exchanges that may surprise us for a possible shutdown but everything is possible even if we think the exchange/s is unlikely to do that.

The list categorized the exchanges in 5 groups
1. Voluntarily shutdown
2. Bought off or rebranded
3. MIA/Just disappeared/Exit SCAM
6. Hacked
5. Shutdown by Government
The hacks are the common one and likely exploited even some tend to be a rumor of an inside job.

3868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No 2FA and robbed of 0.097BTC on: January 01, 2021, 05:36:07 PM
If someone managed to rob the deposited amount just in 9 minutes then how can you be sure that it won't happen again?
It won't happen again if he uses 2FA the next time around.

Do you really believe that 2FA will save you?
It can save you to not move funds in the event of a compromised sign-in because if you have allowed 2FA feature let's say just on withdrawal then the hacker/s couldn't move those fund of yours.

2FA is extra layer to the security but its not ultimate protection, so you need to find where the scammer got your details and scammed you.
It isn't the ultimate protection need could rely on but that doesn't mean we should ignore even this little act of enabling it that may save your account or money someday. I think that will be hard to find if he is a phishing victim somewhere online.

3870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What altcoins/s do you think will trigger the alt season? on: January 01, 2021, 09:03:11 AM
As I said, the prerequisite is bitcoin, not Ethereum.
I think if we see a massive correction on Bitcoin that may trigger other altcoins to surge but that's still a speculation but a possibility since some are eyeing on altcoins considering Bitcoin is in overbought state.

Things will take an unexpected turn once dominance start decreasing, I'm expecting this to happen by February 2021, I don't believe that Bitcoin can hit 50,000$ this time around but fingers crossed for now, altcoin season will start looking interesting once bitcoin reach it's max and whales will start buying altcoins instead
$50k? Might be the other quarters of 2021 but I don't think it's a possibility even in the first quarter.
3871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What altcoins/s do you think will trigger the alt season? on: January 01, 2021, 05:23:06 AM
bitcoin, if bitcoin dominance goes down this will be good for altcoins. no altcoin will ever break ATH before bitcoin dominance wanes. and ripple too, maybe this is bad for them. but the SEC case had a positive impact on other altcoins. look since XRP crashed, there have been a lot of altcoins going up. this means people are starting to sell their XRP to buy better coins. if more exchanges delisted XRP, this would be good for other altcoins.
I don't think so, seeing this a couple of weeks now but whenever Bitcoin gets some corrections it really hurts to most altcoins. I don't know if the current drama along XRP makes it good for other altcoins but that one has big impact for other altcoins to decline.

Since coins that have good promotion usually centralized, atm I don't think any of the top-50 altcoins is a good candidate. Maybe a new community coin the like of dogecoin but with a more serious tone will appear out of nowhere.
My top selection will be Ethereum if that's the case (don't minding a new one), well, there some institutions stating that it really undervalued might be the huge candidate: https://mobile.twitter.com/ki_young_ju/status/1343838575360581632
3872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What altcoins/s do you think will trigger the alt season? on: January 01, 2021, 02:21:47 AM
I don't know how to put this but we've seen other alts continue to rally up this 2020 but I think it's different from what we've seen in 2017 were there are massive gains from alts. Can we still expect something like that especially this year 2021 and what do you think is the altcoins/s that may trigger the alt season (redundancy at it's finest)?
3873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] OPERAND - HOLD AND EARN on: January 01, 2021, 12:27:39 AM
LOL what a turn of event, I contacted the guy because he post in Services section about a potential job to be worked for. Good thing @Rikafip found out that this project was an outright scam.

3874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: January 01, 2021, 12:14:37 AM
It looks like Markelle Fultz really found the right team for him. He's been contributing well that lead the Magic's 4-0 run this season. He's come a long way since his "classic" free throw days at Philadelphia. Remember those days? Hehe.

Another surprise is the Cavs 3-1 record.

I don't think they can keep their lead at the table but who knows? This could be another crazy season.

I think Orlando found a fine rookie like Cole Anthony the guy will be a favorite I guess for 2021 ROTY. And, yeah he's at it: https://www.sportsbettingdime.com/nba/rookie-of-the-year-odds/ though at the tight spot there are still more room to turn the table.

NBA are barely starting there are for sure some changes on every team. I don't think that the season debut winners can continue this up until it gets to 30+ game but I think that's good for them if they do besides we are at no home court advantage season.
3875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: "The next 100x-1000x coin?" bitcointalk thread ----> 3 years after! on: December 31, 2020, 10:38:02 PM
Nice stat read for a bit, I am not even really interested in these 100x debates but it would be interesting to look at the ones that actually came through and see what exactly made the coin a success. Also 100x should be in a certain period. 1 day or 1 hour 100x is not useful for anyone,,, right?
More likely it should be adoption in the technology behind the coin but most of them that pump are just from FOMO, just my two cents. 100x is achievable in a day, 2017 is a crazy year for alts and I guess it's just too useful for those whales who drives the pump and also drives the dump and sold at top.

It is proof that you always need to do your own research and not don't follow blindly advise.
Well, that thread was all just full of season traders and it's all an speculation it's not really good anyone will jump right onto the coin/token without even doing an actual research or consult a financial advisor.
3876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No 2FA and robbed of 0.097BTC on: December 31, 2020, 03:29:52 PM
Why now there are many gambling sites that require 2FA to be activated, because there have been many cases of theft that have occurred
when 2FA is not active. Hopefully what happens to the opening post will not be experienced by all of us, so don't forget to make sure all of
our gambling site accounts always enable the 2FA. The opening post has had a huge loss, imagine with the current Bitcoin rate, losing 0.097 BTC
will stress me out.
It sure does an eye opener to provide 2FA even if you're still signing up for an account. There's some site that doesn't let the registrant to continue if they haven't activated yet the 2FA option, I think that's a safety feature for some gambling site so that the next time they login, withdraw, deposit and other similar things we may avoid some kind of scenarios, especially hacking.
3877  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the benefits of buying XRP at present? on: December 31, 2020, 09:09:54 AM
Since the price of XRP is the lowest at the present time, what is the possibility of profit if I buy it at the present time? This project will not be in the market and will go away.
Well the thing is we don't know if it will go away or when will it go away, so, better we stay away, it's that simple.

This is the right time to buy as the price already fell down a lot and when the market becomes stable the price of XRP will rise and the panic sell time has already been over.
That's a risky trade calling you but I think it will be much safer if Ripple Labs has already been out of the lawsuit rather just thinking it's in the bottom of every technical analysis. You may have a overbought signal on the technical side but the fundamentals isn't that on the bright side.
3878  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BETCOIN.AG ARE SCAMMERS!! on: December 31, 2020, 07:26:08 AM
At least the OP want to give some thanks from Betcoin.ag as they really put an immediate action on the issue. Well, a lesson to learn never make some last statement like saying they are crook or something, it's better to put some calm manner first before anything else. Thread reported to be locked.
3879  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: December 31, 2020, 06:00:44 AM
The Lakers seem to be missing some big man energy they were getting from JaVale McGee & Dwight Howard last year. I think it was a mistake to let them both get away. Particularly Dwight Howard given how cheap he was willing to sign for.
How come they let these 2 go that easily considering they really are a big help on the board? Well, changes do happen but I think they need more aggressive big man on the board and has that defensive skill set, they may got Monsta Trezz but I think height and reach is a big factor.
