Wait. Son of US Aid worker in Cambodia, mid-1976? This doesn't pass the smell test. SE Asia isn't my specialty, but to the best of my knowledge, any representative of the US government in Cambodia, or for that matter any American at all in Cambodia, in mid-1976, was about to wind up being a member of one of those skull collections, if not already.
WTF. Seems exceedingly unlikely. Son of mixed US/Cambodian background born in refugee camp in Thailand.... more likely. But not many women in 'representation' of the US government running around in that time and region. He can be born wherever, it's not material. And which of his parents was what, I don't care. Says he never met his Dad. Wound up on the Res, but... This just doesn't calculate well, and I really can't imagine that the US government was running aid programs with the Khmer Rouge.
