It is a big list of DeFi projects and tokens but beware of many scam projects come from DeFi hot trend. There will be many DeFi projects & tokens born everyday, and listed on exchanges from IEOs but as being said "Beware of coming scam DeFi"

3862  Other / Beginners & Help / Comparative table on fees among some coins. Pick up one for your need. on: August 14, 2020, 03:34:44 PM
Blockchair.com has its compare page which presents a filter and comparative tables among some coins. In this thread, I present you an overview on fees (average, median in $ last 24 hours). You can visit the page, get an overview before doing further steps and choose the best coin at time to move your fund.

Similar when you trade, look at daily volume and price trend of each coin. Make sure after you move your fund with it, you can trade it back to Bitcoin and won't get loss when price falls down.

Use this method to move your small fund when fee is a matter. I don't advise you to move all your funds with altcoins because of Replay attacks.

I learned from his books and his free announcement increases his reputation in crypto space. I am thankful to Andreas and Jating because of free announcements. I like Andreas because he gives us free to read his books on github.

It is good warning to newbies and they must learn from it to not blindly believe in influencers, KOLs' words. There are very little influencers, KOLs are actually good people and tech experts. It means most of them don't have enough knowledge and skills to assess project's legitimacy and validity. There are more forces with money behind and many of them can not reject financial benefits. I see many influencers of pump & dump groups use their influence to pump coins and stupid guys will get loses by believe in their words and buy at peaks where influencers happily smile and take profits.

Newbies beware of influencers -they might not know it all/it's can go wrong-
Be careful of INFLUENCER REVIEWS

Update:
20 sMerits were sent out, 22 more to go!

Rule update:
- Only English post will be considered because I don't understand other languages and I don't want to be biassed by Google translator.
- One merit for one user. If you fail, you can re-apply later but if you win, your later application will not be considered.
It is a small award to force you keep up your good works.
- I would not really give bounty hunters easy merit.
You do not do anything bad if you join bounties but make good posts and apply here but if you are bounty hunters and mostly create low quality posts or only bounty reports; you can not make a few fake average posts and apply to win.

You are free to apply to get the rest 22 sMerits.

Search with Google can give you this one: 18 of the Coolest Visualizations for Exploring the Bitcoin Network. I don't promote the site of R Ver but it is what it is from search result.

Maybe most of them are for kids (as visualizations).

Before I find that article, I found 10+ Monitoring Websites That Help Track the Bitcoin Network. Too much websites to visit so I stop my work. I am sorry for bringing all articles from R. Ver's site Tongue
3866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: TxStreet.com - live cryptocurrency transaction visualizer. on: August 13, 2020, 04:53:29 PM
I know this site but don't use it for a long time. Now check it again and see:
- BTC: Median fee $2.23
- ETH: Median fee $4.24.
Crypto guys more easily accept higher fees on Ethereum network. There are secrets behind this: ICO mania, IEO mania, and DeFi mania.

The UI reminds me simple games about 3 decades ago: car races (I don't remember game names but old guys did play those games)

TLDR; It's too long with lots of words. You are so patient to write it.

I am curious what you write from your post history and I visit your profile. You make a bad decision to disclose your email. As I know, the forum hides your email by default so you truly changed it to disclose your email.

It is your choice but if you think it is risky (read my thread) and want to change. Go back to your profile: Account related settings, Hide email address from public? (choose it).

Everyone who are greedily to join the DeFi trend and projects, please spend your several minutes to read Overview on DeFi - a new hot trend in crypto. You will know where and how to investigate DeFi trend and projects and save your money. Think of risks and loses before you think of profits and avoid to decentralize your capital from your pocket to pockets of the others.

A quote is for people who are lazy to completely read the thread.
It is the first big scam accusation and was released after the crazy rise of SRM (almost reaches 20 times of increase from their IEO price). In OP, there are warnings at very early sentences and I wish people want to invest in any DeFi projects have to bear it in their minds.

As a basic rule, a new trend brings both opportunities and risks to investors. Only investors who are knowledgeable and readily to learn as well as have ability to control their investing activities can win and earn profits from their capital. Most of them end with losses, indeed.

pooya87 made an excellent warning and a summary on famous scam trends in crypto.
if you compare the times when tether growth peaked with the altcoin market pump and dump periods you can see that the major rises were:
1. 2017 mass altcoin pump when every single altcoin even the long dead ones worth less than 1 satoshi got pumped
2. 2017 ICO mania where thousands of ICO were being created every month or so
3. 2018-2019 mass altcoin dump which was the reverse of #1
4. 2018 mass ICO death which was reverse of #2
interestingly enough tether was added to ethereum network to exactly be used for pump and dumping ICO tokens during the ICO mania by the end of 2017 and grow a lot during the ICO death spiral next 2 years.
3869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Overview on DeFi - a new hot trend in crypto on: August 13, 2020, 03:49:01 PM
https://www.coindesk.com/defi-meme-coin-yam-succumbs-to-fatal-rebase-bug

And this will happen lord knows how many more times before this particular trend burns out. ICOs attracted morons with a one page website and white paper but at least there wasn't much that could go wrong other than them raping you. This introduces an extra world of pain.

I have zero doubt a ton of money will be made. Anybody into this should make sure they secure that and then exit with a smile.

it could be that when you make a Gwei transaction that you are using is not suitable so that your transaction is stuck, with very high gas currently reaching Gwei 200, and you are using Gwei far below it so that it can make your transaction process stuck and not run, and I am a little surprised by expensive fuel now, what happened ?? Shocked Shocked

Gwei is fee on Ethereum network, it is not a transaction.

Thoughts! Yes I have.

Archive.is does their works well to protect their customers and from your quote, they claimed Brave as a scam project that I agree.

Brave browser has their shady actitivities Brave browser hijacking links and affiliate codes!. They also forced their users to finish KYC to get BAT and from that they do break their core idea. What a shame!
3874  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜— Ethereum gas explained on: August 13, 2020, 01:46:19 PM
Do you know what Ethereum gas is? Huh

Along with Bitcoin, Ethereum helped to spearhead the development of blockchain technology.
Within its network, Ether, its base currency, is what’s used for transaction fees called Gas.

Want to know more? Have a read here: Ethereum gas explained.
Wow. Amazing article from Bitcasino.io. Thank you for it!

I'd contribute with my thread ETH/ERC20 - Check and select good Gas price and hope that there are some points can be helpful. Gas price on Ethereum network now is crazy.

3876  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can we protect Crypto Ecosystem on: August 12, 2020, 05:19:23 PM
Life is not easy as that. If you send 1 BTC and easily get 2 BTC back, where is the 1 BTC from? It is impossible. The crypto market is in bull mode and you can easily to get 30 - 50% (even higher) profit by investment. Why not do good investment? Two or four times of good investment will double your capital. Don't think of easy money.
3877  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How you can earn money from bitcointalk.org? on: August 12, 2020, 04:29:27 PM
theymos wrote a welcome message for newbies. All members are welcome here and the forum can bring jobs for you but not from mindless busywork (see the quote).

A lot of people come here primarily looking to make money. The forum administration is very happy that people are able to use the forum in order to better themselves; indeed, one of the reasons for Bitcoin's creation was to break the artificial barriers which prevent so many people around the world from attaining prosperity. However, if your attempts to make money conflict with the forum's primary goal of enabling discussion, then you are swimming upstream, and you will not be sucessful in the end.

If you view the forum as some sort of "job" where you complete some basic tasks and get paid, then you will almost certainly be disappointed, and the forum administration will not be sympathetic. If you do make money using the forum, then it will be through innovation and entrepreneurship, not any sort of mindless busywork.

Signature campaigns are paying good if you hold high rank.
It is not true. Only good members with good post quality can join good campaigns with good pay rates. Spam members with high ranks can only join campaigns with low pay rates or bounties. Your quality and contributions are dependent on ranks.
3878  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitamp Bitcoin Web Wallet - Send & Receive Bitcoin Instantly! on: August 12, 2020, 02:47:32 PM
Someone asked us today on Quora, "what would we do if we randomly received 1 BTC in our wallet?"

Well, the obvious question would be, who it’s from, and why, but it’s moot because once it’s in your wallet, it’s yours. That’s the beauty of Bitcoin;)

Ethical dilemmas, anyone?
I don't see how it can happen from a stranger. Because the sender has to have BTC address of receiver. From a spreadsheet, from any source but I think most of time they are friends and have trades in the past. It is so lucky if I receive such donation by mistake and don't know who is sender to refund.
3879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Check and select good Gas price (in Gwei) for your needs on: August 11, 2020, 04:10:25 PM
Check fees and network before you move your coins or tokens. Sometimes your wallet show's over high fees and if you don't and believe in them you will waste money for fees.
