Hm, habe mal ein ganz klein wenig recherchiert. Mir war er nicht bekannt. Ein bekanntes Communitymitglied hat ihn bei Twitter aufgefordert sich zu "outen" und kurz danach klingelte sein Handy, TwoBitIdiot war dran und die Überraschung war gross. Hab den tweet leider nicht parat. |

Wenn es wirklich nur ein verlorener Key ist, dann könnte man über einen kleinen Eingriff in die Bitcoin-Software das Cold-Wallet auf eine neue Adresse transferieren. Es müssten mehr als 50% der Teilnehmer zustimmen. Bis jetzt hat es aber noch niemand (d.h. Mark oder einer der Gox-Insider) vorgeschlagen, deswegen würde ich davon ausgehen, dass es nicht an sowas banalem liegt. Die Coins wurden durch verschiedene Betrüger abgezogen und sind unauffindbar in der Blockchain verstreut.
Nunja, es muss nicht zwangsläufig nur ein verlorener key sein. Wir wissen ja nicht was für ein (kompliziertes) System Gox aufgebaut hat um die Cold Wallet sicher zu halten. Eine Hard-Fork um die Coins wieder zugänglich zu machen dürfte ziemlich ausgeschlossen sein und Mark wäre auch nicht gerade gut beraten so etwas momentan vorzuschlagen. |

Also ich denke eins steht mittlerweile fest. Durch die "transaction-malleability" können sich solche Verluste nicht angehäuft haben.
a.) sie wurden vor langer Zeit beraubt. Das würde bedeuten das die Coins auf nimmerwiedersehen weg sind. Dagegen spräche zumindest das Zitat von mark das die nur "unavailable" wären.
oder
b.) es besteht ein problem mit der Cold Wallet. Da wäre natürlich interessant zu wissen wo genau as Problem besteht, um einschätzen zu können ob eine recovery möglich wäre. Immerhin ginge es ja um mehrere hundert MioUS$ und da könnte man schonmal einigen technischen Aufwand versuchen.

Pussy vendetta? Some long-time members of this community willingly deceived newcomers. Thats not the point. Plz read what i was responding at. There is no reason why the average customer at MtGox did some "moral haszard behavior" and therefore deserves to loose his funds. Its obv another story if somebody bought Goxcoins at a later state in the story and knew the risk he was taking. In my opinion anyone with funds on Gox knew the risks he was taking. I'll state the obvious again: the writing was on the wall. In my opinion none of the customers with funds on Gox deserves to loose all his funds. Why should that be so? They didnt stole those funds, did they? Neither did they harm anyone just by depositing BTCs or FIAT at the exchange. Its their money and the obv deserve to get them back. |

Seems like this Two-Bit-Idiot was hired to put an end to any plans for a possible recovery of MtGox. He kind of lets this slip on his Tumblr. As someone who has been heavily damaged by this MtGox issue, I wish they may come with a good plan to compensate us. The guy seems to want the opposite. Yes, he wants the opposite, because it would be bad for bitcoin if moral hazard behavior gets rewarded. WTF!? Who gets rewarded if Gox customers get 30% of their BTCs back? Who? Wie sehr ihr das: Gibt es eine (wohlwollende) Erklärung dafür, wieso wir jetzt nicht einmal mehr an unsere Tradingdaten herankommen? Vielleicht übertreibe ich. Mich hat diese Sache jetzt sehr misstrauisch (bzgl. Gox) gemacht.
P.S.: Danke für Eure Anteilnahme. Hilft mir mehr als ihr vielleicht denkt. Fühle auch mit allen anderen Betroffenen. Ich bins ja nicht nur alleine. Wobei das ein geradezu schrecklicher "Trost" ist.
naja, die tradingdaten sollten ja in dem offline-monat rausgegeben werden und das auch nur laut dem draft von dem wir nicht wissen was stimmt und was nicht. dh auch laut "plan" hättest du jetzt noch keine tradingdaten und da momentan mit ziemlicher sicherheit sich die ereignisse gerade überschlagen sind die customer trading-histories garantiert ganz weit unten auf der to-do-liste und das auch vollkommen zu recht. |

This is a very strong and totally wrong assumption. First, there are some kinds of company (such as LLC) that eat up all debt and the owners are safe whatever happens. Second, even if it's not the case, if the owner just doesn't have that much money, he doesn't, and you'll still get nothing. Exactly, and that leads to the conclusion that to sue a totally blank company makes no sense, cause there isnt anything to get. Ofcourse all under the precondition that we do KNOW what the financial condition is. |

Ich hoffe nur das keiner von diesen Spatzenhirnen auf die Idee kommt das ganze Netz auf einen bestimmten Punkt zurueck zu 'Forken' damit das 'Unglueck' nie passiert ist.
Da müssten alle Bitcoin Nutzer mitspielen. Das wäre für mich ein Grund, aus Bitcoin auszusteigen. Wird wohl kaum passieren. Zumindest nicht mit mir. Das is eben das Problem... Es muessen nicht die Nutzer mitspielen. Nein, die Nutzer! Wenn die restlichen Nutzer diese neuen Coins aus der zurückgesetzten Chain nicht annehmen, können die Miner ungestört auf ihrem Fork arbeiten. Es braucht nur einen einzigen Miner, der auf dem bisherigen Zweig weiter arbeitet. Man sollte den Minern keine Macht andichten, die sie nicht haben. Stimmt, andererseits würden zwei weitere Miner genügen um den bisherigen Zweig so zu beinflussen wie es passt. 51%-technisch. Die ganzen ASICs haben letztlich die Macht da sie in jede Währung einbrechen können und sie "beenden" können. Edit: Zumindest SHA-Cryptos. |
