Quite wrong!

Businesses spend huge amounts of money to ensure they avoid being the victims of criminal activity.

A Network, that does care about criminal activity, is a Network no-one will want to build a business on.

ETC statistics of not caring about criminal activity are:

1) DAO theft of 3.5 million coins, they don't care about it on the ETC Network.

2) Replay theft of 7.5 million coins, they don't care about it on the ETC Network.

There has been over a billion dollars of theft in the Bitcoin ecosystem. When are the care police going to show up there? Should I hold my breath?
never, they cant
lol and another person that doesnt understand Ethereum ....lol

Those that keep going on about emootabillety lol understand Blockchain for BTC...they dont understand ETC blockchain...it does things differently, also the dao coins that were stolen could only be retreived because there was a 30+day withdraw limit. Changing this single tranasction was different because it did not require the entire rollback of the ETH chain and miner fees were not involved.
3925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: August 04, 2016, 06:08:20 PM
Atom, Good luck where every you decide to mine, trade, etc... But this ANN thread really is about keeping us informed on the progress that ETC is making.  And of course some chit chat between those of us who are supporting it.  Best of luck where ever you go.

Now the bright side to the down price pressure is we are shaking out the weak hands and hopefully will flush out any ETC that is still in "hostile" hands that are using it as a weapon against ETC.  The sooner that happens the more stability we will have.  It is clear that the ETH insiders have a mountain of ETC and are not afraid to use it to attack.  So these weaker prices might flush some of that out of the woodwork.

The sooner ETC finds support and a price bottom while everyone is screaming the sky is falling the better.  I am seeing a lot of trash talk on Polo Trollbox feeding nonsense about no devs and no future.  It is time to make sure that everyone knows that there are devs, there is a future, and there is a plan.  So announcements along those lines will help a great deal as we can repeat them in places where there is some impact.

Positive note is that with so many running from ETC the diff is falling and profitability is returning to mining.  Always a good thing Smiley

OK then ....who are the devs? what is the plan? and what is etc future plans? ...

As i said earlier, the ETH devs can severe ties from etc in many ways.
With so much hatred towards VB & others....why would etc want them anyway?
etc current philosophy of copy n paste, with anon leaders wont work imo
3926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: August 04, 2016, 06:21:37 AM
actually, I was a ardent suporter of etc..but it's a rudderless ship...just a pop and flop after all...I might go and see if mining Bottlecaps or Hobo nickles is still around...

I'm sorry but this is incorrect; like much of what you've been saying.  You continue to further discredit yourself with your posts.

Vitalik and his team will be programming for ETC. Any work produced by them can and will be applied to ETC so long as it isn't code that censors transactions (ETC's primary criticism of ETH). Tone Vays explained this in the video by Chris Ellis posted in here by Mal I believe; I suggest you watch it starting at around 13:00 or jump to 36:00 to see what I've said above.  This is a major reason why it is likely ETC will stay around and may potentially grow much bigger than it is today.  The development team is ETH; it is not a rudderless ship as you claim.
True , but if they decide to censor , i hope etc guys dont get to annoyed. The ETH devs can severe ties in many ways.
With so much hatred towards VB & others....why would etc want them anyway?
etc should quickly find a real face that is willing to lead the project, etc needs a team of devs with vision of where they want to take etc.
Stagnation will not help etc in anyway.
etc current philosophy of copy n paste, with anon leaders wont work imo

Just a thought... Smiley part 1  Tongue

Bringing in new faces Smiley

ETH guys told everyone they knew to get into ETH...many were confused what is ETH? but trusted us and bought.
Some refused to buy because they saw ETH as a threat and held their BTC...
etc comes along and the people that refused to buy ETH now think they see an opportunity to destroy Ethereum by dividing it and make some good profit on their BTC...however they quickly realise that the ETH buyers dont need to buy etc, so they go out and get other BTC holders and new buyers to buy etc.
Once the new buyers of etc finish buying they ask a few questions....what is this ETH? after a long explanation and prob lots of reading, the new buyer has just learnt alot about Ethereum and alot about crypto from the same people that refused to buy ETH.

Ethereum wins  Cool

I'm pretty sure I can develop tech that does what ethereum does better, on Bitcoin, and for many purposes without any blockchain at all. But I'd be happy to be proven wrong by a project that's otherwise aligned with my ideals of immutability, censorship resistance, and permissionless innovation.

We value the synergies and positive network effects of having many applications on one
singleton instance: the Ethereum World Computer. Most of our dapps interoperat
e with one
or more other dapps and therefore the ConsenSys ecosystem of dapps will be deployed on
the Ethereum mainnet (ETH)

ETHF bagholders are selling their cloned ethers for ETHC.

Not a smart move now that a 2nd hack has occured and Hackers/thiefs has over 10 million ETC

You were crying for a rich list and now you're crying over seeing it
@bitpoop, this is why etc will never be big....you think you can hide things from traders by trying to delete posts...you do realise that is the 1st sign of a PnD coin!

A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by the starter of a self-moderated topic.(bitpoop) There are no rules of self-moderation, so this deletion cannot be appealed. Do not continue posting in this topic if the topic-starter has requested that you leave.

You can create a new topic if you are unsatisfied with this one. If the topic-starter is scamming, post about it in Scam Accusations.

@ JayJuanGee  I mostly just hold in cold storage with no intent to trade any time soon. Just a bit of fun for me with a small amount of change.

That makes your earlier comments even more ironic because they seem to be somewhat out of touch with your actual practice and actions.

These days, it certainly is not difficult to make various efforts to attempt to align your BTC holdings in accordance with your view of their future price performance.  I know that a lot of folks are really disinclined to sell any of their BTC and so they only buy upon dips and continue to HODL, but if they are like you, and if they really believe that there is a decent chance that BTC prices will dip into the $400s, then they should sell at least a portion of their BTC holdings in order to kind of align their investment with their views. The alignment does not need to be precise, but at least a ballparking of such.

If you are only HODLing BTC, and you have no other plans in terms of the future price dip that you expect, then aren't you feeling kind of uncomfortable with the current allocations of your BTC holdings, or do you enjoy living in such high levels of discordance in your life?  I'm not trying to be judgmental of you, because my perception of the whole situation, as i outlined above, seems really strange to me.

I see it as a much bigger risk to play around with it on exchanges than being cold-storaged.

See what I mean?

Why do folks feel some kind of urge to say "I told you so" and we are still attempting to figure out what is going on and what has happened... ?

Yeah, so far the theory is that bitfiinex may have lost 125k coins, and they will not be able to pay back customers.... maybe so maybe customers may have lost all of their funds on bitfinex... but we still do not know whether that is the outcome....

Let's see before anyone starts proclaiming I told you so, and even if there has been a loss of customer coins, that does not mean that the customers did not appropriately assume and/or weight these risks for their own situation.
