3961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon to accept Bitcoin? on: November 10, 2017, 06:18:35 PM
i dont think that amazon will accept bitcoin soon.the bitcoin Price is too unstable.
maybe in a few years when bitcoin got a stable currency.
The Bitcoin price isn't really relevant. The liquidity could be an issue though.

but we don't know for sure if segwit2x is happening or not, futures are in an uptrend again +80% in the last 24 hours so i really don't know what is going to happen,i am sure there will be another big pump in bitcoin in the next couple of days, prior to the 16 november..

today i sold my BCC at 0,129BTC, hope was the right timing but in the end it was sure a profit considering the price i entered

i think both will survive (or better, i hope :-) )
I think it was announced that Segwit2x is happening as planned anyways.
You mean this nice website? https://bitcoin2x.org/
I don't remember seeing this website. But if that was the source of the info that would be hilarious.
I know what you mean, some unknown guy also send a mail in the b2x mailinglist stating they would have 30% hashrate of btc and still fork...
But yeah...good idea. Buying all the low s2x futures, post that shit and sell high
Pretty much why crypto futures should be avoided.
3963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best crypto to buy now? on: November 10, 2017, 06:15:21 PM
This thread was opened over 2 month ago. I'm curious in what you eventually invested in Grin Anyways, I just bought some more Bitcoin gold, Tio, Bitcoin cash and ripple.
I can't recommend buying Bitcoin Gold or even Cash at all. Cash is "better" than Gold, but both are weak. Be very careful with how much money you put into those since it's very possible that you could end up losing.

There is also an FAQ over here, which actually states multiple airdrops of 100 BCH each will take place:

The total of 1000 BCC will be distributed over time, we have to cap it so it is not considered to be a market manipulation
3966  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Tips for Beginners on: November 10, 2017, 06:11:35 PM
Slow and steady wins the trading race, it’s cliché I know, but it’s so true. Trading with high frequency opens you up to a world of emotional trading mistakes that will destroy your trading account and your self-esteem. i am used to this point so much.
That's why I avoid manually doing any high frequency trading. Seems more fruitful to me to get better at programming and statistics, since those skills can be applied to other problems too. But I'm sure some people just enjoy trading by hand for the thrill, which can be quite nice too.
3967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are We Dead Without China? on: November 10, 2017, 05:53:49 PM
If china will be out, yeah it may affect us but not that much. China holds almost 20% of bitcoiner but it doesnt mean that we will be crashed out if they disappeared. We can still stand and continue throught out. The flow of bitcoin will still go and maybe new rules and regulation may be applied.
If China dumped their 20% (if that number is accurate) a lot of people would be very happy. Wink

Be that as it may, I wont trust that the greater part of the China's cryptocoin holders could have truly sold their coins. The sudden fall on cost can likewise be credited to the individuals who have froze about the news amid the previous couple of days. Perhaps some genuine chinese holders are recently snickering at this moment in light of the fact that othe nationalities are offering while they are as yet holding and purchasing
I find it hard to imagine that Chinese investors would actually dump too, at least the ones who really understand what crypto will be in a few years. With the profits they can just move to another country if China doesn't let them use them.

How can you guys say and focus on it being generous and just accepting (i know there isnt much we can do) a lie without an explanation? Arent you more concerned with the ethics of how this was done, or would you think it would be generous if you only received 10% of your salary?

Sasha is at the frontier of negotiating and working for fair regulations in this space, he should therefore be and set an example, lying is definitely not the way to do it. This brings up many questions on how he runs the business, is he fair to his employees?

I actually was agains an airdrop like this, i think they should use that money for safety, growth and expansion instead. I mean, what if BTC crashed and BCC takes over, then waves wouldnt have any funds left. BUT, It is not fair when the CEO says that they will airdrop 1K next Monday and we get 0.1k next Thursday and with no official explanation, that should bring up some serious questions and doubts. A message here or on reddit or their official site explaining that they indeed cannot give away 1k as promised because they will need it for growth would be a much better approach, honesty, communication and transparency will always win in the long run in this space.

Stop FUDding. There was an explanation. It was clearly stated that the airdrop has to be capped and occur over time so as to not be considered market manipulation.

Where do you find this clearly stated information?
I think you miss-interpreted this Question, which didn't speak about the airdrops. Doing airdrops can not be seen as market manipulation.

Q: Why not use BCC funds to buy back Waves in a legally compliant way? You could even use them for a community project. Your BCC is valued at 10million usd, which is 3million Waves off market! That would better serve us than penny scraps. Some of us are down hundreds of thousands of USD!
A: That’s market manipulation 🙂

From the last QA (http://wavescommunity.com/qa-session-with-sasha-ivanov-on-waves-slack-nov-2-2017/)

Q: How much % bсс will be allocated to the wct holders?
Sasha: I plan on sending around 1k BCC next week.

Q: How do you calculated the amount of BCC (1K) to airdrop next week? Can we expect more airdrops since that’s only 5% of the bcc stack?
Sasha: we’ll do in batches, and the amount received will be determined by the amount of WCT you hold.

My interpretation of those questions
1. Around 1k shall be distributed next week. 0.1k is not around 1k. Saying around 1k one would expect it to be 0.9-1.1k BCC.
2. More then 5% of their 30k BCC stash will be airdropped. 1k being the first happening next week (context from answer above), and then more in batches.

FYI bringing forward serious questions based of real evidence if not FUDing. Only naive investors close their eyes when evidence based claims are addressed.
I found it instantly on Telegram.
3971  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If we can educate our kids at home why do we need to send them at school? on: November 10, 2017, 05:44:58 PM
We can teach them at home some basic things but we cannot teach other things they need to know. One more they need to show thier talent to other so its better them to send in school. How they can show thier talents to other if they stay in our house.
By uploading them on Youtube?
3972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon to accept Bitcoin? on: November 10, 2017, 05:27:10 PM
According to a newsletter from The James Altucher Report, Amazon will soon begin accepting Bitcoin, which they will officially announce as early as October 26th during their earnings conference call.
It's November.
Yep,  and they aren't going to accept it anytime soon haha.

This is nothing actually. I think this is just a way for the visitors of this thread to click on the link and have it well-read. Another subtle ploy to bait people here. Amazon could accept Bitcoin. It simply means that there is a possibility that Amazon would do that but it is not definite. And for all we know, possibilities are unlimited. It could also mean as much as Amazon will not accept Bitcoin at all.

too much current speculation. many media are taking advantage of this opportunity to create news in such a way that visitors on the news portal a lot. especially now the more famous bitcoin. even sometimes the news is not necessarily true and not based on fact, just speculation, as you explain.
I really want to know how many news articles are placed for market manipulation. Like that JP Morgan guy and the "leading Economists" who call Bitcoin a failure etc.
3973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is holding bitcoin Greedy? on: November 10, 2017, 05:25:56 PM
I do not think it's greed. I think it's just a smart way to maximize profits. As long as you're not troubling yourself, I mean you can still meet your needs, you do not really focus yourself on holding bitcoin, then it's not greed. Greed is not good, we should not be greedy, but I do not think it's greedy.
I agree with you that it is just the smart way to maximize the profit in bitcoin because with holding bitcoin then you can get the potential to get more profit in value of USD because when the price of bitcoin in the market goes up then you will be earning too because the value of your bitcoin appreciates and goes up so it is better to hold than selling or converting it into fiat.
Depends on your risk profile. There are a lot of people who can't afford to risk losing any money. But if you're a student or have a steady job I would just go all in and save money by eating less and not buying any expensive toys if I had to. If you have a lot of money it makes more sense to keep some stocks than to put everything in crypto though.
3974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why should governments allow bitcoin to continue grow? on: November 10, 2017, 05:24:08 PM
for me,, bitcoin is an amazing currency helps bitcoiner to fight with proverty and overcome financial problem. and i think governments should allow bitcoin to continue grow for welfare of their countries people
If the government understand the great offer of this investment I'm sure they will allow bitcoin to grow if they won't think about personal gains bitcoin will bring good profits, people who understand this investment will have a bigger chance to enjoy financial stability so they should allow bitcoin to continue to grow.
If only governments were truly interested in the betterment of humanity. So far it seems like all they care about is silly games and gaining power and money instead of pushing humanity forward.
3975  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Tips for Beginners on: November 10, 2017, 05:21:23 PM
There really are no tips for trading for beginners because you shouldn't be looking to get into that at all if you're new to crypto. Or even in general it isn't something you want to try as you could potentially lose a lot of money. Especially if you cannot control your emotions and know what you're body is telling you when you get bad feelings. Just learn about how to use Bitcoin and keep buying as much as you can for the long term.
Trading is an art and not everyone is an artist. This is what I was told once I stepped into the world of trading. Trading really is a very profitable thing but at the very same time it is very much risky to get into it. The only thing which can help you in your future is the amount of knowledge which you’ll be having. Above all, patience and control over your nerves is the most important thing which you need to have.
Becoming an artist or trader is all about perserverance and constantly thinking about what you haven't tried out yet. Smiley
3976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] SONM: Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining on: November 10, 2017, 05:18:02 PM
Its nice to see that the token value bleeding has stopped for now. I hope this shortterm hype will last for a while. With hodling SONM longterm I am interested to know what the teams plans are to catch up with their competitors? It feels like SONM is losing ground after for example iexec just released their v1.0 on time. SONM does not just need a viable product, they need to speed up their pace.  Undecided
SONM wasn't really bleeding at all. It was simply changing hands from the impatient and clueless to those who understand its value. Smiley
3977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another parity fail !! ? on: November 10, 2017, 05:16:09 PM
i am using Parity for contract deployment, but ... takes ages to sync, some function outdated.  I wouldnt store Ether in it.
How about you stop risking your money by using Parity? Smiley
3978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ERC20 vs waves on: November 10, 2017, 05:15:35 PM
This is more of your preference but I think ERC20 is better than WAVES.
This has nothing to do with preferences. Based on the current roadmaps the Waves platform will be vastly superior to ERC20 in the future.
3979  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin rise to $500k in three years? on: November 10, 2017, 05:14:25 PM
So guys, what do you think about McAfee prediction - will Bitcoin jump to $500 000 till August 2020?
I think it is not possible. We can predict anything but all our prediction is not correct. $500k is not a little price. Bitcoin is more strong crypto in the crypto world but reaching $500k for Bitcoin is so hard in three year. It can be reached on $30k.
It is a pretty small price if you consider the sizes of the stock market and currencies in general.
3980  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: November 10, 2017, 05:13:14 PM
I have often noticed that the Ethereum is artificially held at $ 300, and most likely it is already worth 500-600 dollars in the potential, and after the second stage of the hardfork it can fly to $ 1000.
I don't think it's artificially held anywhere. You seem to be forgetting that Ethereum gets dumped in order to fund ICO projects once the ICOs are over, so that negates most of the buy power of Ethereum. It's meant as an investing token after all.

Well i couldn't agree with you more on that, honestly i think this too many ico funds is really affecting the potential of ether to fly of late, ether has been dancing around $300+ for some time now couple with the ico's pressure, hopefully a break out will be soon, so eager to see this technology fly to its full potential.
It's actually flying towards its potential in my opinion. People just use it in one way and expect it to do another. I don't hold any Ether and only about ~30% BTC.

...no, Eth is meant to be fuel for EVM operations. Its simply being used as investment.
Same thing, different language.
