Not every time we will be at home to teach them.
And also, parent alone don't know all things.
Sending our kids to school is to gain more knowledge, wisdom and understanding

If we can educate our kids at home why do we need to send them at school?

If socialization is a problem in homeschooling, there are many solutions to that ;-)
i am also thinking why we need to send our kids to school, even if we can educate them. but my mom said that its better at school because as a parent, you do not have all the experience in all thing and you do not have knowledge in all things, so there is a school that will fill the lack of knowledge you thought to your children

There are things that we can learned inside and outside the school. We need to send our child to school not only to learn anything about there subjects, but also to learn how to socialize and join themselves to other people. While inside the house, it is where the values and good attitudes needs to be taught on the child.

And what about friends, the world around, what development will they get sitting in the four walls of the house. With whom they communicate, develop, they will know. You are delirious, turn on your mind, your children should develop fully and not be wild people with a poor lexicon.

It is not only about education, it is also about interacting with other humans of the same sort - ie children. This is usually necessary, or the children may never integrate in society later. But of course school is usually quite destructive for the most clever piupils' potentialities, so I see your point.

for me "homeschooled child"  sounds a bit weird. like what's wrong with these kids? are they disabled in any way?
it's not like being disabled is wrong but you know it may prevent child from going to school. and if a child is fine why would they stay at home the whole time?

The roles of both teacher and parent are somewhat similar but one is always greater than the other in certain aspects. Teachers can teach the general subjects better than the parents. These subjects include math, science, language and literature. Teachers have a better affinity and mastery over these subjects, however, they can teach these subjects better specifically to children who has no clue of what the subject is. The parents, on the other hand, can better teach their children the morality and values of a family which a teacher cannot because the two are of separate families.

One of the best things parents can do for their children is teaching them to tolerate other people from all walks of life. School does this pretty simply and subconciously. By enrolling in schools children learn to live with different kinds of people and become great social beings. Without tolerance the world will self destruct because we are all different in many ways.

And, the kids will be brainwashed into tolerating stupidity.  Angry

Don't tolerate stupidity. Fix it by teaching the kids right, at home, where they CAN be taught right.

Cool
Really glad there are more people who see things the way they are on this forum.

We can teach them at home some basic things but we cannot teach other things they need to know. One more they need to show thier talent to other so its better them to send in school. How they can show thier talents to other if they stay in our house.

First hand education comes from home, the basic things a child learns were taught by our parents but sending them to school is like formal learning, although there are some parents who prefer their child to home schooling for some valid reason but still they needed to send to school so that they can learn how to associate to other people and to learn other things that may help develop their personality, and mentality.

Sending them to school will build their discipline and help them learn how to deal and mix with others, from different culture and status!

I know you have heard of the saying no man is an island.
That quote is also applicable here. Learning in a group is much better than doing it alone. In a group, there's competition where children tend to strive more than being home tutored. The experience you will get in school is valuable and you can't get that if you are just at home.

I think schools are there to teach our child what we cannot teach, we will always have atleast 1 weakness when it comes to academics. A tutor could do the job if that is the case but there are just lots of limitations. When it comes to socialization, ok lets not send them to school, lets just find other group of parents looking for other parents whose wanting their kids to have a social group so that they could do activities where they will learn to cooperate and help others, wait a minute, isn't that called a school?.

I'd have to agree, the school in itself is an institution where learning is concentrated. Aside from textbook lectures, the school also melds cultures, introduces new people with different quirks and to learn how to work for a single goal. Although there are flaws on school, the institution is actually a great building ground to build character. The school administration and teacher should also keep in mind to improve and tweak their teaching techniques so they could relate to the students

It is because you can't teach everything in your house. Do you teach your child all the academic lessons? I think not. You can teach your child to be a better person in life, you can teach that in your home but not all. All the things that a children can learn is in school. If you are a teacher, why not. You can only educate your child in life but not all.

Home is different from school, It helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life. People debate over the subject of whether education is the only thing that gives knowledge. Some say education is the process of gaining information about the surrounding world while knowledge is something very different.

School is an experience where you can build ideas and share it with others, Also helps the child to know the norms in real life of what is good and what is right. To build his/her own self in the journey of discovering his/her passion in life.

We send our kids to school so that they can socialize with other people. Schooling is not only about gaining and gaining knowledge, but is is also inclusive of the imparted lesson when they socialize with other students.

Which kind of Education are you referring to because as I know Parents only give their wards home training at home because I haven't come across any parent who will sit down and begin to teach his wards western education unless just helping them with theirs assignments or project giving to them or if the kids have any disability. Education one's parent gives differ from the one receive in school.

It's not just about the education that the kids are getting. It's more about the socialization build up for them as well. When kids join different kinds of team as well, they will learn. One of the best that they can get is exercise because of joining in sports activities.
