41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Invest in some altcoin that is backed by gold on: December 06, 2018, 10:56:12 AM
Having a gold backed stable coin allows them to trade alts to gold and vice versa.

This is easy to do if they can claim it easily, but the problem is most of the time it is quite hard to do so. If you live in South-East Asia, how will you be able to claim that "gold" from some developer who lives in Europe? Most of the time you'll probably trade it because it's quite fast and simple, and because of that there's no real reason to actually tokenize or create a coin which is pegged to gold or any other assets. It will be just pure speculation, with limited usage. No need to buy a token to own gold, just go to your local store and buy gold, store it in your home and you're good to go.

I don't think the idea would be to hold it but I take your point. I think it's so that they can trade gold/crypto while avoiding holding fiat. They can then grow their gold amount in the idea that overtime gold will appreciate against fiat. Then whenever they see fit they can convert their gold to fiat and not only will they have increased their gold amount, that gold will have increased in fiat value.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The price of ETHEREUM this year on: December 04, 2018, 10:57:31 AM
A lot of people here and within the crypto sphere, in general, were spoiled with the last year. A lot of people started to invest in the cryptocurrencies in 2017 in general and saw absolutely massive profits. Now when the market isn't doing so good those same people are kinda "offended".

You have to acknowledge that there have been multiple crashes like this before, but then the main (and almost only noteworthy) currency was Bitcoin. Now we can see value dropping on any coin and this really makes people sad.

Now relying on this information, I would say that ETH can fall lower but probably not too much. I really don't think that ETH will go any lower than 50usd.

ETH doesn't even look like breaking $100. There's strong support and it seems primed for a recovery, especially considering upgrades coming in the near future. As soon as market begins to recover ETH will be one of the quickest to do so.
43  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Invest in some altcoin that is backed by gold on: December 04, 2018, 10:55:53 AM
Why just don't buy gold if you think that price of gold will go up? Why we need crypto that way?

maybe the OP think if the value of cryptocurrencies thats backed by gold will be stable as the price of gold,,
i agree with you, if the OP believe in gold, just buy gold and keep it

I suspect that the idea is that they don't want to hold fiat because they believe that fiat will always lose its value over time. Whereas they believe gold and alt-coins will increase in value. Having a gold backed stable coin allows them to trade alts to gold and vice versa.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About gas gwei for send out token from myetherwallet on: December 03, 2018, 01:16:29 PM
If you use a lower gwei you normally need to set a higher gas limit or else your transaction might not go through. Very rarely will it use the full gas limit but the transaction won't be accepted otherwise because it's based on an average length for the transactions to be processed.
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Invest in some altcoin that is backed by gold on: December 03, 2018, 01:13:36 PM
Why bother investing in an altcoin that is backed by gold? Just invest in to gold itself. The only reason I can see for these coins is if you don't want to ever hold fiat and so want to be able to trade crypto/gold.
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bibox: $BIX Token - The Future of Exchanges - Binance Verison II on: December 01, 2018, 05:18:03 PM
Bibox is far from being the version 2 of binance, its a cheap knock-off of binance. If any exchange is going to overtake Binance it will be by improving upon all of the things Binance already do so well, not by just copying them and hoping to steal away their traffic.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is NEO is a sleeping giant or not??? on: November 30, 2018, 08:57:00 PM
All of Neo's hype seemed to disappear. Or actually I think it just upped and moved instead to similar but more advanced projects like Cardano, Stellar Lumens and EOS. Even on full implementation NEO does not seem to be as promising as they are and therefore I don't think it will make a resurgence.
48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to chhose a new masternode ???? on: November 29, 2018, 10:14:39 AM
Instead of just focusing on the cost of a masternode and the potential returns, I think the main focus needs to be on the coin behind it. IF the coin has no utility it will have no demand and you'll never be able to sell your generated coins for a good profit.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETHEREUM - ONE MORE POSSIBLE MOVE DOWN BEFORE MARKET RECOVERY on: November 27, 2018, 01:50:41 PM
Market is very far from bullish, just because there was a 10-20% recovery doesn't mean anything when considering the overall trend. I'd be surprised if the price of ETH does not hit $100 or lower, there will be a lot more people trying to sell and push the price further down, there needs to be a sustained period of people deciding to buy before the market can move away from being bearish.

As you can see, as predicted we are already testing the previous low of a couple days ago despite a brief glimpse of bullishness. One more big bearish push will have bitcoin in the low 3000s and ETH hovering around 90-100 dollars. That's the level that I think we might bounce from. Though it could be one rung lower with BTC around 2800 and ETH around 80.

51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: we are going to - NEW PUMPS. on: November 25, 2018, 08:38:01 PM
i think now is good period for investitions.  in crypto and in ICO, becouse when market will start grows, all ICO and coin will grow, 1/2 X minimum. and now is best period for buy cryptos with ETH, becouse now price is near 100$, and when some ICO will finish after 2-3 month, and them want 10000 ETH for soft cap, and this 10 000 ETH will grow in price, you will got guaranted bennefits in your token.

#changemymind

IF ETH is the platform they use for ICOs and if they are successful. ETH has a lot of competition now for ICOs. I think ETH and BTC were largely pumped by the ICO bubble and companies having to hold their coins for a number of years.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Utility Must - and Will - Lead The Way on: November 24, 2018, 12:18:51 PM
Have to agree, all of the banks working with ripple are not using XRP, there seems to be nothing linking the two, not even some sort of buyback scheme. Ripple itself is arguably ahead of bitcoin in terms of adoption but not XRP.
53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: road to success on: November 23, 2018, 09:18:09 PM
I think the best form of marketing is word of mouth, if there is a good project then they don't need to shout it from the rooftops, people will realize the potential and they'll tell others about it, soon it will spiral and the project will be very popular.
54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good stablecoin to move my BTC right now? on: November 23, 2018, 09:16:52 PM
USDC seems the best in terms of reliability, it's backed by circle which are going to be heavily regulated given they're based in the USA. I wouldn't trust tether but thus far they do seem to be converting tether to dollars, just on a slight delay.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: -=let's tell the good news about crypto=- on: November 19, 2018, 07:58:22 PM
People don't concern themselves with good news in these times. You get the self pitying types who feed in to the negativity and you also get the true bears who are more than happy to contribute, bulls stay mostly quiet in these times because it's also in their interests to buy cheaper coins, a large majority are probably also scared of being too optimistic.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How does the team prevent the price of the tokens from falling? on: November 18, 2018, 11:39:34 AM
Hello everyone,

As I mentioned at the title, how does the team prevent the price of the tokens from falling? I want to discuss and brainstorm about it.

It starts with having a token that actually has some level of use, something that drives the demand for it. After that the team need to ensure they make a product/platform that people actually use, then it's just a matter of time before the price grows.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcointalk app on your phone on: November 16, 2018, 11:08:51 AM
Do you have permission from the forum creators for this? I'm not sure if you actually need it but it would at least be a nice courtesy.

Is there any future idea to add the ability to log-in?

How is this any different from just accessing the forum through your browser whilst on a mobile device?
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BIGGEST DROP without a clear reason for it --> MARKET MANIPULATION on: November 16, 2018, 11:04:18 AM
if you believe with cryptocurrencies,, you don't have to worry in this situations my friend
this make you can buy more bitcoin and any others good crypto in the market,, wich mean you will get a better price to buy
just collect more and hold your coins in your wallet  Wink

That's called blind faith, you should always have some level of worry as it stops you from being complacent and ensures you're constantly evaluating. Taking in to account the price drop, consider if you still believe in crypto for the long term and if you do then it does present a better buying opportunity.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BIGGEST DROP without a clear reason for it --> MARKET MANIPULATION on: November 15, 2018, 10:22:36 PM
Come on. This isn't market manipulation, at least not in the 'whales are manipulating the price to make more money by lowering the price so they can buy cheap'. There are many reasons for the fall and it's also not that significant of a fall, other than the fact it's a new yearly low. Be positive. Bitcoin is still going strong and has every chance of recovery soon. Also a simple google search will offer many reasons which could have been behind the fall, all more compelling then market manipulation.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Fantom Partners with Multi Billion-dollar company on: November 13, 2018, 07:33:14 PM
Are there any details of what the partnership entails. I've seen a lot of cryptocurrencies lately stating they've partnered with big companies but mostly it's more of an agreement to do some work for them or something along those such lines, in a lot of cases free of charge.
