41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MultiCoin][Stratum+GW] multipool.in - Always mine the most profitable coin on: July 18, 2013, 07:08:53 PM
I just started on this pool today.  I'm getting occasionally "bad worker credentials."  Is this normal?  delays my mining for a bit

now I'm getting non-stop bad worker credentials.  Help plz

What OS, what miner program, what pool you using (What coin or Multiport?), what vidcard, whats your sisters name etc etc. Give some details.. is it when you start or when?

T.

p.s. J/K about sister.. pics or doesn't matter anyway.

You might need to remake/edit cgminer.conf file if you are using cgminer. Verify your workers names on multipool site under your Account .. double check spelling everywhere.

Sorry.. Vicurex.

and we are mining FTC now ...?
Maybe should switch to a LTC maybe while we find out?

Cryptsy has temporarily suspended FTC trading while he investigates.. according to Admin there.

Just joined the pool this morning (hence all of my annoying questions) and am excited about the concept but still trying it out. If I find that this is significantly more profitable than just parking my machines on litecoinpool.org or somewhere else, I'll be more than happy to kick the donation % up a few notches.

Can someone answer -- I saw we were mining for a while on LTC earlier today but nothing appeared in my LTC balance, is there sometimes a delay on this?

Welcome to the pool Nightengale. Not referring to new users when I ask above. We do have many quite-big miners that could afford it I think. Smiley

As to LTC.. trust me when I say patience is a hard virtue to learn with it. Sometimes you can get several payouts in a time period or we may go days with none. Since it is usually the second most valuable coin there is (as silver -to- gold kind of) it can take awhile to mine. Have no fear, they do trickle in even for s/lowly miners.

Be well.

To all Multipool miners.. I would like to ask/challenge all of you for the rest of the month to turn on Donations 5% to help Flound as he is doing loads of work for us. I see most of the Multi-Mh/s miners are donating 0% atm and that is their prerogative no doubt, I just think it would be nice to show our appreciation. We all have an idea of the effort involved and the BS he put's up with from so many.

Thanks for considering. (and no I am in no way connected to or paid by MP.. just a miner in the mines)

Cash Out isn't working for me. I'm new to the pool and figured I could just paste an address and click "Cash Out" -- am I doing something wrong?
Glad you found out Smiley

Be well.

Flound.. when you have time could you possibly fix the main 2 coin charts at the top of page to be in same order. Maybe just put in alphabetical order. No big deal but it would be better if they at least matched coins in order.. same as each other.

Thanks!

SEE ABOVE!
Worth the read..

P.S. I still think, and always will think... that Multipool is the best pool, and potential for value. If you have the time to mine and hop manually. Avoiding the pools that the multi-port is mining, and has helped to drive value down on. (Helped... as this is NOT the ONLY hopping tool, but it is one of the largest hash-rates hopping on a limited range of over-mined coins. Call it a love-hate relationship. Tongue Mostly love, for all the wrong reasons!)

Good luck.

Just out of curiousity Why? There are 27 alt-coins and we need another? Must I go read some 37 pages of crap to explain why your coin is the uberest best now and why this is?

Really, no offense intended here it's just getting real old real fast seeing more alts constantly.

T.

Thanks Torn,

No offense taken, yes you are right there are quite a few Alt Coin's out on the market today.  Some should not be here, others such as the one we are promoting I believe have a place.  But don't take my word for it, you have to use the client to believe it.  I too had my doubts at first, as I have mined with many Coin's, and I must say right now FastCoin is the best to mine, smooth and easy payouts, even better then LiteCoin.  Not sure how long that will last, but for now (approximately 2 months) this has been the best coin to date.

Not to mention the fact that it cannot be instamined like some of the other Alt coins out there which only benefit the developers on launch date.  FastCoin is distributed evenly and you get what you put into it.

The other bonus is the extremely fast transfers of this coin.  Full verification is complete in less then a min, that means you can quickly move your coin's to somewhere else without having to wait longer then 50 secs.

One final note, there are many countries in the world today and they all have there own currencies, Crypto currencies should be no different.  I don't think there will be a one coin fits all, BitCoin right now floats all the Crypto's boats including LiteCoin, but as time moves forward, more space will be made available for additional Alt Coins such as FastCoin.  Its nice to know we had a chance to participate this early on and take advantage of the low difficulty rate and high rewards.

Peace

Thanks for a great reply. I agree with you. Sounds good, I shall try it out and see if I may help a bit.

Again, I thank you very much for a good answer and realistic reasoning.

Be well.

Getting error "Another payout is currently in progress, try again in a minute.".

Just give him a bit.. these things happen. No worry about balances.. Flound will get it fixed I'm sure.. he always does. Remember that even as fast as it is, sometimes "stuff" gets hung up here or there. A period . in the wrong place can fugg up the works.

We get paid asap.
Time for another cuppa.

Good Morning all!

53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should MultiPool Mine Extremely low diff/hashrate Coins? LKY, ARG, PXC? on: July 17, 2013, 05:12:13 AM
I don't think the multiport should mine coins with low network hash. Its risky and nobody wants to be stuck holding worthless coins when they could have been mining something else. We should be more selective about what is available on the multiport to ensure the coins we are mining have a higher chance of increasing in value.

That's the point of Multiport. The coins "we" mine are going to increase in value by the mere fact we are mining them.

Besides.. Multipool is not a joint venture open to public pleasure. It is a private venture (as far as I know) owned and operated by Flound. He can do as he want's and if someone doesn't like it.. they do not have to use it. No vote is going to change the profitability mining continuing.

How about letting individual users decide, either by letting them select individual coins, or by having a couple different endpoints for different classes of coins (kind of like "large cap" and "small cap" mutual funds)?

The miners want to mine "The most profitable coin" possible. Regardless of so called classes or whatever you want. As long as someone is buying, we will sell.
We love you long time for 5xARG/LTC/PXC/MNC/DGX/NVC/TRC/FTC/LKY/WDC!
We work hard for our money.. so hard for you honey...

May many happy times be ahead.

My momma said life's like a box of chocolates. Sometimes soft and hot 'n squishy is ok, they still can be 'et.

Summary of poll post.. Wahhh wahh wahhh.. multipoll.. wahh wahh wahh.. multipool bad people.. We must vote to stop the bad people! Much tears and gnashing of teeth.

Only a select few are supposed to be mining ARG and I did not get the memo. Damnit Flound! It's your fault. How dare you mine coins. You have corrupted us all now and you shall be flayed for it I'm sure as soon as we can find our flayers.. or is it flayees?

Mod's Could You Sticky This?

Reply to the above: because their killing a coin which people are working hard at keeping alive. Its easy let the community decide.

Just a second please.. "you" make a coin that you wish to be mined right? (otherwise it's pointless) but you do not want Multipool and "our" massive 400mh/s miners ability to mine it? (realizing of course that the 400mh/s is really hundreds of individuals).
Then why make the coin? Is it a private-party thing where only the special few are made aware?

Dude, go fuck yourself! The coin will die without Multipool most likely stirring up interest in it. You should be happy as shit that anyone would trade your new alt-alt coin.

Thanks for poll!
Be well.

I think that due to the nature of this pool, the lower period of time is better. I would love to see other coins such as FTC, NVC, TRC to be reduced as well.

I think the period should be = Average time to find a block * 2.

I should note that this didn't become a major issue until recently, since the multiport used to be on LTC for much longer time periods before a) feathercoin came back into profitability and b) digitalcoin started having longer periods of high profitability which just happened recently.  So people who have been mining on the pool for several months should be confident that their past LTC payouts have been reasonably fair.

I verify that. Up until a few days ago I was exclusively on LTC but when the "others" came into play it changed the whole dynamic tremendously. Going from 5ltc every few days to tidbits is useless so I jumped onto the multiport. Unless the mp is on ltc, it is not good for a small miner like myself (1500ish kh/s) to mine it. After a 48 hr period on mp, I now have 5-6 coinages slowly adding up which even if they overall are worth similar in value to slow trickles of ltc, It still looks better to be getting paid something.
Like many I'm sure, I'm still a bit skeptical about the coin-hopping thing so we will have to see and let Flound keep tweaking on it as I know he will. The beauty of open-source! We shall see results as quickly as anyone else.

Lovin' the experiment so far.

59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MultiCoin][Stratum+GW] multipool.in - Always mine the most profitable coin on: July 16, 2013, 08:29:42 PM
After a discussion I had with a user this morning, I am thinking about changing the LTC round time to something lower, I think a more reasonable time period would be something like 4-6 hours.

My rationale is the following: (Assumes ~400MH on multiport and ~100MH on LTC)

- Even at 80MH, block time should be about 8-12 hours.  We don't want to reward people for shares they submitted much longer ago than that.
- When the multiport is on LTC, the average block time should be around 2-3 hours.

If we use 4 hours as the round period:

- LTC-only miners are not affected at times when the multiport has not been on LTC in the past 4 hours.  It affects LTC-only miners who hop off to another pool more quickly, but not those who stay on Multipool.
- It only takes multiport miners 1 hour before reaching 50% of shares submitted in the past 24 hours (rather than 6 hours at a 24 hour round time).  That means on average, the first block will be paid at ~75% and the next block will be paid at 100% of what the expected reward would be if we were using share-based PPLNS.

I am grateful for all of the constructive feedback I've received lately regarding the payout structure.  Thanks to those who have contributed.

You are doing most of the work and for that, We Thank You!

Still getting upgrade warning after deleting peers.dat and restarting. No biggy really.
I'm more interested in a Win binary.
No offense Titan but are you the only person working on LKY?
