41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Japanese Anonymous Cryptocurrency Koto [Yescrypt][CPU mining][Zcash clone] on: March 12, 2018, 11:15:11 AM
Unfortunately, the difficulty became too high, the coins were mined out less and less.  Sad

i dont know why the nethash is so high even Koto  didn't hit a major exchange ,what's the reason Koto catch peoples eye

The simple reason is because it is one of the few coins currently that you can mine at home with your PC/laptop/whatever and then if a by some chance this coin makes it, you can cash it out.
I mine heavily Koto, however to be honest, having in mind the huge premine, the lack of any info from developers and a clear roadmap, I think all would go in vain eventually.

The road map is the best path for a project, maybe for the coin as it does not really need it, the important thing dev gives a clear explanation that alone is enough to give a good view for the future.

Hey, do you mean that you have read/accessed somewhere infro from Koto developers recently? It would be cool to share. I know that they are available, but I personally can't follow the Japanese discord/discourse Sad, hence I rely on this forum here. Thanks a lot.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: March 10, 2018, 10:49:18 PM
Yet another struggle at the border of 200 USD for our Litecoin just now...
Volume is up, price goes down, this is usually a messenger of unpleasant news...

Do you think it's not worth holding at this moment?

Nope, sell all. Trust me, I got this info from a random guy on the interwebs Wink

Funny suggestion but it will work for all out of mind people who are looking for on this thread. Who don't remember that never anybody especially in long term investment who always lose and keep asking like that.

Not making decisions, just checking opinions)
As for me, not going to sell LTC anytime soon.

Everybody must take his/her own decisions, not based on the opinion of others. Rule #1 in crypto Smiley
Some say it is weak hands to sell while market is crashing; some say it smart ways to sell when market is crashing, so that you can buy the dip.
Choose wisely in anycase.

Depends of course when you sell while the market is crashing. If you hit the bottom with your sell order you are smashed. If you sell while it just starts to crash you might be off quite well. Always difficult to hit those movements perfectly. Better take profit when you are satisfied with your ROI.

Yeah, exactly on spot! This time it seems that I sold the bottom, instead of buying it. Sold almost all of my litecoin holdings when it was around 130 euro 2 days ago, hoping that the downtrend will continue. Actually LTC jumped with 20 euros above. Still, I am waiting and wil not re-buy until the price goes near what I sold to at latest Smiley

Hey guys, I got a little confused here because so many posts on the topic. I tried googling but I guess I failed if I am writing this post Smiley

So, does our real name remain (our = arionum.com coin) "Arionum" and abbreviation = "ARO"?
45  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Japanese Anonymous Cryptocurrency Koto [Yescrypt][CPU mining][Zcash clone] on: March 09, 2018, 12:28:41 PM
It seems to be back now, not sure if I was paid for the time it was not displaying but I think it might have. I know my miners seemed to continue working.

Are you sure it is OK now? I am trying to access it from Europe:
http://kotopool.work/

and page is still down.

Regarding your question - just see your miner's historical graph when you click on it and you will see if you have mined during the downtime. If mined (which I highly doubt), you will be paid for sure.

not http://kotopool.work/
just https://kotopool.work/

Thanks, with https:// it works like a charm. So maybe the pool just applied SSL, hence the downtime?
Has anyone checked the miners historical hashrate and the payouts received during the unavailability period?
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to Buy? on: March 08, 2018, 03:04:37 PM
Check in Google about that one - toward the end of 2016, the Danish firm Saxo Bank released its annual list of “Outrageous Predictions” for the year ahead. In it, the bank’s analysts said that Bitcoin could easily triple in value in 2017.

That prediction came true by the spring of 2017. Bitcoin went on to increase from around $900 to $18,000 in the course of the year.
Bitcoin has struggled since the end of 2017. It has plunged on more than one occasion, and its current value is down roughly one-third from its all-time high.

Nonetheless, Saxo Bank analyst Kay Van-Petersen told CNBC that she “wouldn’t be surprised” if Bitcoin peaked between $50,000 and $100,000 this year.

48  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: March 07, 2018, 02:15:15 PM
Last time something strange happened to Eth. Volumes of trading are falling, the price is too. What is it? A conspiracy of competitors or conspiracy of haters crypto-currency?

There's no conspiracy or competition's input here man. It is just that the entire market is going down since the beginning of the year.
The King is currently in a heavy situation and it influences ETH and the rest of the alts.

Yesterday there was a statement from Harvard that BTC price will reach 100 USD, this is the only FUD that I can think of, but for sure it is not the main reason for being in the red for 2 days in a row.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CPU Mining for 2018 on: March 07, 2018, 12:03:43 PM
Question 1 - what is your hardware?
Question 2 - why aren't you happy with ETN Mining?
Statement 3 - do you intend to use a working/home machines for CPU mining or invest in one. Because when i am reading here about Monero and so, I am smiling - these can be profitable only with an investment in hardware. Otherwise why don't you check Koto or Arionum?

51  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: March 06, 2018, 01:53:27 PM
How would I go about getting one of the $200 or $100 coupons?

Give me your bitmain acc email and I will send you $100 (I won't use it anyway)...

got many 100$ to give away too.

Did I hear correct, you guys are talking about "give-away", not "re-sell" the discount coupons? Smiley

If true, I would volunteer to get a few, as I do plan to order at least two more S9s before the new hardware pops up all of a sudden.

How does the transfer of coupons work, you need the bitmain site registered email or?

Using the https://github.com/arionum/lightWalletCLI, I'm getting the following error when I execute ./lightArionumCLI.php:

Fatal error: Default value for parameters with a class type hint can only be NULL in ./arionum/lightWalletCLI/lightArionumCLI.php on line 248

Any help to getting it to run would be greatly appreciated - can't start mining till I get the wallet generated, and don't have a windows machine.

EDIT: Its due to a older version of php on my system - error goes away if php 7.2 is used!

Hi, is there any specific reason that you stick to PHP miner and wallet?
It is more than highly recommended to move to the java miner and the GUI wallet (if you have the proper environment to run on, it can run on Linux if you dont have a Win machine). Hash rate is optimized much more.

As a rule of thumb, you should trust only github links and compile yourself:

miner: https://github.com/ProgrammerDan/arionum-java
wallet: https://github.com/arionum/lightWalletGUI

I stuck to the PHP wallet as thats the only wallet that runs on Mac OS X. I use the https://github.com/ProgrammerDan/arionum-java miner on OS X, works fine so far.

Yeah, I guessed. In any case the Aro developers have the next in turn in their Roadmap, a Mac GUI Wallet, so I guess you will be fine soon.
Also I wanted to suggest to upgrade your PHP version to latest one in order to troubleshoot, but then I saw your edit that you fixed that with PHP v 7.2, so all is good. Happy mining!

BTW: Koto now has a profitability calculator at https://www.crypto-coinz.net/coin-info/?87-Koto-KOTO-Yescrypt-calculator/

It's super profitable right now so join us at https://koto.ezpool.eu/ Smiley

Is that profitability real?

After I saw this I had to try. Now I'm mining it for 5 minutes. I am very curious!

It currently is, but alot of people are not trusting jambtc.com and/or not selling their KOTO. We have to wait for more market adoption and see how it progresses. But in my opninion this project has great potential and an active and friendly community.

Actually is there anyone who has made a real transaction on jambtc.com to buy/sell KOTO and let us know the feedback. it seems really too shady for the majority of us to adopt... Anyone who provides any real examples will be big thanked to.

Hello everyone, I'd like to announce the launch of a new Arionum pool, aro.hashe.rs!

Pool: [  http://aro.hashe.rs  ]   Fee: [   1.5%  ]  Min.payout:  [   3ARO  ]
Reward Split: [    25%  finder    ] [   15% current   ] [    60% historic   ]

We aim to be a fair pool for all with the majority of payout going to historic shares, but still keeping an exciting reward for the block winner and the miners contributing here and now. A big thanks to all the new miners, difficulty is growing steadily, keep it up!
Wow, a second mining pool for ARO. It is history in action Smiley
However, I still see only 3 miners there, for how long is it up now, 24h? It will be too sad if you don't get enough hash power.
Why don't you try to get listed on arionum.com?
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When Will Ethereum reach 1200 again? on: March 04, 2018, 06:34:49 PM
Currently noone can make any prediction about any alt coin price.
First majority of them are linked to BTC and currently BTC is struggling a lot.
Second, most of the current alts including ETH already skyrocketed, a lot of people fell into the bullish trend and bought at a high price. You know what will happen if ETH reaches 1200 - most of the guys who bought at 1100 will start selling like crazy and price will drop. So basically, we just need to sit and wait now.

I think it's crazy how Arionum, much like RavenCoin, manage to catch enough awareness for a respectable amount of trade volume to happen through their Discord & Escrows.

Like Arionum doesn't have an exchange, and doesn't have a specified date. Yet its hashrate and price are maturing well.

I agree! Considering it's not even on an exchange yet, the hash rate is quite impressive. Can only go up from here! With that said, are there any plans to get listed on an exchange yet? (Easy ones like Cryptobridge, etc, as a starting point)

I don't think it is something specific. There are thousands of guys like you and me who are looking forward to see the next in turn CPU mining coin and just gamble on it. Everybody hopes that it will be the next Monero, but we all know it won't.
Yes, we don't spend money on useless (IMO) GPU rigs or unstable ASICS, we just want to try our processors. Currently there are a handful of such coins - ARO, Koto etc. It is just a justified risk, high hashrate does not mean anything about the coin's future if you ask me.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ARO] | Arionum | CPU | PHP Based | Decentralized Revolution on: March 02, 2018, 04:21:12 PM
4 days i run the miner and i got 0 so i left it i dont understand how they are CPU mining through the wallet and they are also not replying my asnwer.

What does your conf. file look like? What are your specs? Need more info to help...

And the most important question of them all - what miner are you using - PHP or JAVA? Also which wallet do you refer to?
Most probably you have the not optimized PHP one. Let us know, so we can help you.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Exchange for 2018 on: March 02, 2018, 04:12:34 PM
I have read a lot of negative comments that Bittrex has started to scam their user - come on guys, really? Bittrex just started to tighten KYC. It is still one of the most stable and versatile exchanges. The only thing I don't like for it is that it is a little bit slow (I mean in response time) as compared to Bitfinex.

Binance - I planned to start using it, but then around the beginning of last month - you know, the huge downtime happened. They said it was not a hack or something, but noone can say. I am happy they are back to normal now.

Bitfinex - they added a lot of new coins recently, so they seen relatively OK.
