42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves Vs. Ethereum on: September 14, 2018, 03:28:18 AM
The Waves is the most successful Russian project. Its the platform and blockchain have done their job. Ethereum use smart contracts, waves is only tokens.

Your so wrong...   90% of all smart contracts were token creation, and waves has always done that with a click of the button.
On top of that waves has had multisig atomic swap, freezing, oracles, and voting in testnet for months, and has had it on mainnet for a week..
Next week it will be rolled out for everyone to use.

And it will be so much easier then previous smart contracts.

Waves' approach just took a while because they wanted smart contracts to be safe so instead of turing complete smart contracts yhey sandboxed 99% of all use cases.

They have also created vostok which will allow turing complete smart contracts in a centralized manner so that flaws can easilly be rolled back.
Expext vostok to roll out soon

Better then all the rest for actual use, and the only platform that has it all directly in the client is WAVES.
from the fastest and most used DEX to multi sig, oracles, freezing, voting, atomic swaps, and somple token creation, WAVES has allowed blockchain enthusiasts to finally use all the tools needed without having to know how to code.
44  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves Vs. Ethereum on: September 14, 2018, 01:17:55 AM
Waves just implemented an easy to use smart contract system that allows all tokens created on it to use smart contracts with little to no coding background.

I think that other then starting from behind and its low price,
Waves is better in every technical way then ethereum.

Faster, smarter, easier, more intuitive, and all around a more complete platform for actual adoption.
Only thing its missing is the liquidity.

Waves just made strategic partnerships in MALTA

We are very excited to announce that our CEO Sasha Ivanov has started negotiations with the Maltese government, concerning Waves’ accreditation to work within the territory of the state. Read more: https://blog.wavesplatform.com/waves-promotes-crypto-ecosystem-on-blockchain-island-cb1e89abda24

Due to the simplicity and cost of using the waves platform many, and i mean thousands of useless coins have been airdropped on waves wallets.
Modern adaptions of the client hide junk spamcoins in a trash envelope.

But ive never seen a situation where easier and cheaper has been a bad thing.

Hmmm...  wow, guess im not the only one who sees waves smart contracts as huge.
Waves performed best out of top 50 coins

Whitelist voting. This function seems to be very interesting. But how different is this function from the one offered by the NEM platform?

I think waves are an interesting platform, but I honestly do not know if it presents something totally unique and innovative. I know little of the platform, so I have this impression that it is only a shortened version of what is already offered by Ethereum, Nem and Stellar.

Kind of the point actually..
Waves is coded with scala and uses bitcoin NG protocol, so it started off with the tech by creating a platform that was faster and more streamlined then past platforms.

It then took 95% of all use cases for smart contracts, the first being token creation at the beginning, and sandboxed them using the RIDE language so that anyone can create a token and use the smart contracts without an in depth knowledge of blockchain or coding.

Waves is basically a cheaper faster less congested bloatless better version of all the platforms before it, that has the fastest and most used DEX built into the client.

IMHO its far superior to any other platform, while being worth 1/20th the other platforms marketcap.

Also oracles, ive always thought they were the next step in blockchain evolution.

Copied this from the steam writeup

It's finally happened! We have released a system update that will start the process of activating Smart Contracts on the Waves MainNet.

We have released a new system protocol for the Waves blockchain that will enable Smart Contracts. The update initialises a process of voting for miners on the network. The successful conclusion of the voting process is required to activate the new protocol and switch on smart contracts for network users. After reaching the required 80% of votes, the protocol will be activated a week later. When activation occurs, smart contracts will become available for developers who wish to use them in their projects.

What are Waves Smart Accounts?

The first stage of Waves' smart contracts launch will bring so-called Smart Accounts to the platform. In simple terms, Smart Accounts are non-Turing complete smart contracts: they allow the execution of code on the blockchain, but with deliberate limitations on functionality to avoid unwanted usage scenarios and to increase the reliability of the system. We are deliberately not going to provide users with the ability to write functions, recursions, and loops of indefinite nesting. We have explained before that we avoid constructions whose complexity cannot be predicted in advance, and that cannot be executed in a definite number of steps. That is also the reason why we have no collections or 'for each' constructions.
Smart Accounts will provide the most popular and in-demand features for the crypto community, and will apply to various token operations. The list of features to be deployed includes:

Multi-signature wallets.
Wallets that cannot be controlled by one person alone. In order to make a transaction, the required parties must provide their private keys simultaneously. This feature also opens the way for two-factor authentication and enables best security practices for the platform.

Atomic swaps.
Trustless exchange of cryptocurrencies hosted on different blockchains. An atomic swap is a direct trade between two users of different cryptocurrencies, the honesty of which is guaranteed by a single contract on both blockchains.

Token freezing.
Preventing buyers from selling or transferring tokens out of their address for a certain amount of time. This involves sending a token to a user, but ensuring it remains non-transferable and unspendable for a period of time. The most obvious use case for this is as a vesting mechanism or for team/contractor payments after an ICO takes place.

Whitelist voting.
An easy-to-implement voting process for the Waves blockchain. With this feature you'll be able to organise any type of vote with a preconfigured list of people/accounts that are able to participate in a given poll.

Data Oracles.
An Oracle is an application that connects the blockchain to an external data source. It can place third-party data on the blockchain as a series of transactions, but cannot change this data once uploaded. A smart contract can then make payments to other accounts based on this data.

I believe this may be one of those moments where you look back and think
Remember when that project waves changed the way we view blockchain, who knew it could be used for more then just a currency by everyone!!!!

54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What coins are worth buying NOW on: September 10, 2018, 10:58:26 PM
Waves platform has just made smart contracts that are easy gor anyone to use and create available to all waves based projects.
First ones are multisig, freezing, voting, and oracles.
This means that now everyone can create a crypto token and use sandbox smart contracts that are not vulnerable to creator error.

This is by far the biggest moment in blockchain accessibility that has happened EVER.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Smart contracts are soon available for all projects built on WAVES!!@ on: September 10, 2018, 10:54:09 PM
The latest updates on waves has just bern rolled out, and after its voted in just a few weeks , anyone can use blockchain to create a project that has smart contracts.
Using the waves asset creation and prebuilt RIDE smart contracts, all new crypto projects can use:
Oracles
Multisignitures
Freezing
Voting

And you can do it without a team of coders!!
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Long-term investment. on: September 09, 2018, 03:45:24 PM
If you are not an experienced trader and want to invest in crypto then the best solution, right now, would be long term investments in top coins. At the moment, crypto market has high volatility, total capitalization decreases and marketplace value of coins falls. In short term, you can earn or on fluctuation of exchange rate, trading on exchange, or buying coins of promising projects with discount during ICO and selling them as soon they are issued to exchange. But this requires certain skills without which you are likely to lose your investment if you decide to trade.

I fully disagree with this comment during a bear consolidation market.
Other then litecoin bitcoin and dogecoin every top 10 crypto that was around in 2014 have all but dried up.

Blockchain is a constantly changing space, if you look at yhe differences between old bitcoin clones like litecoin or doge, and compare them to the use case for modern platforms like waves/komodo/cardano, youll see that there will most likely be a huge shuffling of the guard during the next round of crypto hype.
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Long-term investment. on: September 09, 2018, 03:39:17 PM
There are very few projects that i would consider long term projects.
Even most of the cryptocurrencies that have held value for years have almost no real world applications besides being speculation currencies for relatively small crypto communities.

If i was to advise going long on any crypto, it would be on platforms that create tools for blockchain adoption.
And even then, id only say hold for platforms that are showing exponential usership growth while still maintaining a low marketcap.

Of course if your just swing trading, this advise doesnt apply, because if you are buying a coin to simply sell ig later (99% of all cryptocurrencies) then you arent really considerring it a long term investment.

58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The one blockchain platform that everyone is overlooking. on: August 27, 2018, 06:55:08 PM
There is one platform that i have been interested in for years that seems to go under the radar all the time.

Waves.

For two years now, it has been under constant development.
From having one of the fastest on chain tx times, to having one of the most used decentralized exchanges.
It hax allowed me to make many assets for fun or business useassets for almost no cost, and has many simple to use smart contracts being tested on its testnet.

Not to mention the tether it is creating with a full business related blockchain (Vostok) in the pipeline for large entities to have all these tools at their disposal in a centralized controlled environment.

Waves is becomung the only tool need for blockchain development.

59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy on: May 07, 2018, 03:39:58 AM
here are only a few projects that I would bet on for 2018.
By this I mean hold a large position in due to investment.

Of course any project that you help create, through actively being a participant in its development and marketing can be very lucrative, but I'm talking about actually undervalued projects that have released enough to be competitors in the top 10 best blockchains while still being under 1 billion in marketcap.

In truth there is only one. Waves!!!
It has the fastest on chain tx
It has secure smart contracts
It has a decentralized exchange built into the client that trades at blazing speeds
It has a blockchain creation tool that instantly allows you to create a token for under 10 dollars which can be traded against eth bitcoin and a myriad of other tokens without a verification process
It has fiat on and offramp  for 50% of the planet,
And so much more..

Best of all it has these things now!!!
With a marketcap of approx 40th place on cmc.

Look it up and download the wallet, WAVES will be in the top 10 soon
