How long time will it take for you folks to realize that Dogecoin is the OP of this thread - meaning he is one of the folks behind this coin..
Apparently he is also one of those behind the Coinye..

Nope. completely different people.

eerrhhmmm there can only be one account here with that name..
Why does the username have to relate to this forum? Maybe reddit?

No, neither founder is behind coinye, or wants anything to do with that trainwreck.

"Dogecoin" named in Kayne's lawsuit refers to someone who cybersquatted coinye domains under the Whois name "dogecoin".

Hi all.

Is anyone able to explain the block chain to me please? I decided to take a look at my wallet address here: http://dogechain.info/address/DQMYwrz8grAJi1Hn3aQYQSWmTKouFauAoP only to see that the website reported it contained 380k Doge where my wallet itself showed as 2.8 million.
Ive kept upto date with the correct wallet versions at all times, and my pool payments have always come through with no hassle from Both Nut2Pool and Fast-Pool. As soon as i saw the huge difference in values i decided to try and send 2.5 million doge to cryptsy which has gone through fine and cleared into my ballance.

After the last transation DogeChain reports a balance of: 216731.35298575 DOGE (Down from 380k even though i just sent 2.5 million!)
where as my wallet reports a balance of: 284609.55 DOGE

The website is just spitting out random numbers ? Anyone else confirm whether the site is correct for them?

Thanks.

For me it shows the correct stats

Your wallet has multiple addresses in it, you're only looking at a single address.

What is wrong with the doge wallet software?
Any command I run in the debug window kills the dogecoin-qt.exe process, as does any attempt to encrypt wallet.

This is on Win7 64bit, with V1.3 of the wallet (though the same on the previous version?)

Is there a work around for this?
I've tried running in XP SP3 compatibility mode with the same issue.

None of the other 10+ wallets I run have this issue.

there is a 200kilodoge bounty to fix this known issue with "much crash to encrypt moneybag"

https://github.com/dogecoin/dogecoin/issues/9

and holy shit you have 10 wallets?  i don't think they've even made wallets for the crapcoins i've been mining (yes i mined crapcoin)

Ok cheers. Smiley  The new V1.4 client is the same, but then I didn't expect this new release to fix it.
LOL I know. Many don't get used, many crapcoins LOL.  Dare I say it, WoW. Cheesy

Yes, I was working on that issue today before this blockchain split happened >_< hopefully I can fix it soonish. Sorry for the inconvenience.

DogeCoin has been updated to v1.4, adding checkpoints for the correct fork. Please update your clients and daemons immediately. See http://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/1ug958/psa_dogecoin_wallet_version_14_released_you_must/

If you are having issues syncing / your blockchain is messed up, follow the instructions from http://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/1ug9h1/syncing_from_13_will_very_likely_put_you_on_the/ to get you back to the correct chain.
49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happening with DOGE? on: January 04, 2014, 04:50:06 PM
Dogecoin is doing what coins do. Sellers gonna sell, buyers gonna buy.

Also, guys, c'mon. Bitcoin is the only reason Dogecoin exists and has any value. We're not in competition with bitcoin. There's no reason to say stupid things like "it will be more valuable than bitcoin". It won't.

Dogecoin has an amazing community, great support, and lots of people working on awesome things for it. Today earth, tomorrow moon. Be patient.

54  Other / Meta / Re: (Suggestion) New sub-forum for novelty coins on: December 28, 2013, 10:40:02 PM
Sorry, I should have used this topic instead of created my own --

I think, even though this is a bitcoin forum first, we have to recognize two things:
1) Altcoins MUST start and maintain a thread here, or they are considered shady
2) Altcoins need Bitcoin, and Bitcoin needs altcoins. Altcoins are worthless without bitcoin, and Bitcoin's growth is stunted without altcoins.

Right now the altcoin area is a complete cesspool disaster, and I feel somewhat responsible (sorry...), so I think it would be good to at least have a subforum for, say, giveaways. And maybe speculation or something like that.

Kids, let's play nice with the other cryptos. Dogecoin wouldn't exist without bitcoin or litecoin. Thanks.

Seems nothing can be done about it, even though it is known that the negative ratings are people abusing the trust system.
