Haha that pic is funny and already more trustworthy than certain "people" !

The post from Jacqul sums it up pretty well:
The community has been great (I'm looking at you Wulf, Judge, Quantum) very positive and managing to stay calm. It shows adults are involved and this makes me happy.

All of this means that even if the devs publish a whitepaper that says:
1. plan to make the best wallet and keep it up to date
2. integrate useful features from other working coins

I will be all on board the camel.

What I expect it will probably say apart from those 2 things is.
3. work on creating an ecosystem accessible through the wallet
4. some integration of a marketplace possibly

Whats is this whitepaper thing?
It is an article written by the devs that explains the upcoming new development called Eco-system.

Some information about it can be found at the Opening Post of the forum or by searching for Eco-System. A summary of it, is that there will be a new "layer" on top of the current Bitcoin structure to build a network that can used for social activity, marketplace etc. So you don't have to keep your wallet open only for staking, you will open it to interact with other people, to trade, to buy, to do everything you want to do with your coins integrated into 1 place  Grin Grin Grin

Might not be the best explanation and don't expect it all to be implemented directly, but the whitepaper (that will come within 12 hours) will give full details. They did not want to release more information earlier, as other coins could copy it and maybe steal the idea. They are releasing the whitepaper as they are "close"  to a beta/test version!

So to summarize my post, wait for tomorrow if you want facts. Otherwise stick around, read back all the posts from "Silkcoin" and decide if you share their vision Cheesy From my view, this really is a game changer, as it solves the "issue" with people not leaving their wallet open / hashrates due to other means of usage (network, marketplace, etc)!

I came here for Infos , positive stuff, to see what is going on.
Theres people surfing by seeing this thread and they  just sell !
Would be cool to see a conversation about news, instead you focus on camels !

Why discuss about photoshop in 2014 ? when its fake, show it clearly and good is Grin
whatevah
The Whitepaper will be released within 24 hours, probably (if I read correctly) it will be released around 10 CET tomorrow morning

So simply said that is only 12 hours left, then all the @#$% can stop.

BTW has somebody else finished a background research on the guys yet, might be worth looking into as they try to ruin this coin. Posting facts or a research / link to a research is fine, but spamming crap and fiction is pathetic! They complain about losing 10 BTC, think we can gather same amount as a community and hire somebody to get all the details we want about them  Cool Grin

I got a great one for you by the way. I told Silkcoin that they are in trouble because we can connect this all back to Nummus.

Well after being silent for a couple of months after the scam ended. Up popped the Nummus leader and said sorry to people and said he will return money to people.

That is about as sure as shit the guys involved are nervous.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=543503.280

What they might do with this coin is just shut it down at some point so its not technically a 'scam' just kind of abandon the coin. They are trying to cover their tracks but I got them guys don't worry, I have info that connects them. THEY ARE SCREWED!!! PRISON TIME FOOLS!!
Have you listened to the 2 video's at all..... it is a completely different VO man.

I really do want to believe you, that SilkCoin is a scam however all your evidence sucks....

Things as, the video looks the same, the forum looks the same, the OP looks the same is kind of pathetic in my view if you know ANYTHING about IT. Because they simply use a "modified" template to build the forum, the video design is used a lot by professional company's (the drawing kind of thingy) and the OP is how almost all coins create an OP.

Regarding the premine, indeed the % is incorrect however there was a hard fork which changed the amount of total coins. So only if they were wizards, magicians or maybe ghosts they would have been able to look into the future and see that this is incorrect. To defend the premine, in my opinion every coin that has NO premine has some investor behind it ORRRR the dev has a large stack of BTC. Which in my opinion means that the coin is NOT decentralized (as the investor does not give BTC for free) and if the dev puts in a large stack of BTC that means that he for sure want to get that back (when things seems to fail in the end).

So to summarize what you have been screaming for the past week: I don't know what I am talking about, I was tricked by a scam in the past and now I am forcing my opinion (read raging crap) to other people to get rid of my frustration.

My solution for you; buy a typewriter, some paper, envelopes, mailbox and a pillow. Step 1, dig a hole in your front garden on the opposite side of your other mailbox. Step 2, put your new mailbox in the new hole in your frontgarden. Step 3, go inside and put the paper in the typewriter. Step 4, use the typewriter to type all your (delusional) idea's about SilkCoin being a scam on a piece of paper. Step 4, put the piece of paper in a envelope. Step 5, put the envelope into the mailbox you put there. Step 6, go inside and take a break. Step 7, go outside and check your new mailbox. Step 8, go inside and open the envelope. Step 9, put the pillow in front of your face and scream; FINALLY JUSTICEEE, FINALLLY BITCHESS!!! Step 10, go to step 3.

ps if you wonder why I let you create a new mailbox, this is to protect your family from reading what you (sorry what is written to you)!
ps2 sorry for any mistakes in my writing, if you need help with the procedure you can always send me a PM
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 17, 2014, 02:49:01 PM

Yes that's what I call value based upon potential and promise not based upon delivered / real things. My main concern is that this will attract a lot of pump and dumpers, see what brought that to Darkcoin, Blackcoin, Vericoin...?

People who are in this for the longrun will find it "difficult" to hold their hand, when you have 500% profit in 1 week. Meaning to say, the potential of this coin should not be wasted for making quick bucks. People who buy in now, should try to not sell before the Eco-system is in test fase. However how are you able to decide (with this price) if you should invest longterm when the whitepaper will be released this Friday?

Hum, trading is good for a currency when done properly.  A currency without volume is like a car without gaz.  It just don't move.  I encourage people to trade - to put some coin for PoS and to talk about Silkcoin with the others.  "High price" won't come by magic !  Everyone can do something, and trading is, in my opinion, one of those thing.
[/quote]

You are so spot on with your assessment. Trading is a requirement for the coin, people want to make money.
[/quote]
I do see what you mean, however there is a difference between trading and creating a "pump and dump" by hyping a coin!

Also the term "high price", when there is a steady climb nobody will believe the price is high or has to correct itself. It will simply be THE price it is, again quick climb normally means correction and you know why....? Because "most" people who buy the coin are only there to make money and don't want to be bagholders, just like your comment.

Don't get me wrong, this is only my opinion and i don't judge people who want to earn some money, I just want everybody to be informed and make a good decision based upon information.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 17, 2014, 01:07:57 PM
there are no orders to buy - all just buying with a glass of sales
this is a great sign - back to 8000 Satoshi!

Predicted this will go up to 6k satoshis today just due to wallet update. Will smash 10k satoshis by Friday with whitepaper.

Seeing fluctuation of the last 2 days i bought a bunch of SC to daily trade, but im to affraid of a rise to sell right now...
Think a big rise will not come before whitepaper, in my opinion the updated wallet will not give a large boost as it's already really good as it is right now. Unless some special feature will be released that is really unique, however what could that be...

Price is still undervaluated IMO.

Can you be more specific, why it's undervaluated right now? The "only" unique thing this coins currently delivers is a wallet with close to perfect GUI and a really slick (read silk  Tongue) website. Why would that give this coin so much value to even have more than $ 1,231,281 marketcap?

Don't see me as a FUD or hater, I did invested in Silk in the "beginning" so I see it's potential. However I don't want to pump a coin for daytrading, that only scares people off on the longrun.

So yes when the new release of the wallet rocks, it should climb up and when the Whitepaper is released and shows the vision of the dev's are realistic and good it should shoot up.

However currently we are waiting on both to be released....

Well, here is a coin which as you said as a perfect GUI. As well as a dedicated team of developpers, a strong community, several plans for the future (aka white paper, we should get some nice surprise IMO), several signs that shows how SIlkcoin is percepted (Mintpal ninja add for exemple).

Everyone know the huge potential of SIlkcoin, and everybody is scared that not everyone is aware of this. With a little boost of trust in trading, this coin could easely be steady at 8k sat.

50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NobleCoin[NOBL] - **NOBL/$USD@VoS**MARKETPLACE/BULLION**50 CHARITIES/MERCHANTS** on: June 11, 2014, 08:24:37 AM
Hmmm haven't been very active with Noble last weeks but wanted to reply to the accusations regarding 51% attacks and people trying to destroy Noble. I really and honestly do believe there is more scam in Crypto's than we might think.

I am seeing more and more signs of that there is a "group" of people playing with us (honest people) to make money. Think the best example would be the "unfair" release of ASIC miners, it is clear they have been existing for longer than we know. Meaning they were build / used before any of us knew about it and gave the "investors" the opportunity to mine coins really cheap and stack up. Right now it seems the same thing happened to X11 algo, it seems that they found a way to mine X11 with asics (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=540160.0).

Besides these kind of scams, it seems there is also a group of "scammers" constantly creating new coins that promise innovation / GUI / algo's and do not deliver. In short they create a new coin that promises much a instantly gets into 1 or 2 exchanges (how the @%@#$ can that be). I am not talking about shitcoins but about coins that really do have a decent website, whitepaper, release etc but stop as soon as things are really taking of. Why because all the "early" investors just get out of the coin and take our money (look what happened to all the populair coins from last month....). Yes we (the smaller hands) invest and get out as soon as the big drop starts but we are talking about 2K/3K of BTC per day, it's not the smaller hands that invest.

I have seen people post pictures of threat that came to their inbox when they were screaming "SCAM" and giving "proof" of the scam. First i did not think much of it but it seems like logical when you think about it. When you have gained large amounts of Bitcoins in the past, why not create a investment group that sort of controls the market to double / triple your money? When I would have more than 10K of coins I would contact other whales too and ask them if we could group up to protect our "investment".

Then there is the point of people asking for a richlist or saying "Anon" is soo important... Sorry but to my understanding, if I have 10K BTC and want to hide that from the world, I just open the BTC wallet 25 times and put around 400 (not exact amount to not look obvious) BTC in each wallet. As simple as that, impossible to trace, impossible to find out and also impossible to notice on the richlist!

People who are rich, did not become rich to give it away (look at how less BTC has been donated)! Good reallife example is Carlos Slim http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Slim:
The Mexican magnate's growing fortune has caused controversy, because it has been amassed in a developing country where average per capita income does not surpass $14,500 a year, and nearly 17% of the population lives in poverty.[43] Critics claim that Slim is a monopolist, pointing to Telmex's control of 90% of the Mexican landline telephone market. Slim's wealth is the equivalent of roughly 5% of Mexico's annual economic output.[32] Telmex, of which 49.1% is owned by Slim and his family, charges among the highest usage fees in the world, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.[44] Smith, Geri (March 5, 2007). 51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | - HARD FORK MANDATORY UPDATE - | POW phase started on: June 10, 2014, 01:29:30 PM
Time Since Last Block   52 minutes 30 seconds @thepool.pw

this sucks big time

most pools are not getting blocks since 30 minutes at least, looks like some multipool jumped in!

yeah better buy at market, mining not worth
We did really expect this to happen, it's all because this coin has lots of potential and things to come in the next month. The platform that will be released has soo much potential, we could be buying / selling our own stuff directly to each other directly from your PC based upon your wallet address. This really is something big in my view, as it would be the FIRST coin to solve 3 things:
1; security; as people keep their wallet open to interact with each other, now we(or me) hardly keep our wallet open as it costs more power than generates coins.
2; really decentralized; we could trade directly with each other, no more transfer coins to exchanges / middle man. Directly from your wallet to the person you want to transfer to or some build in transfer protocol. This is a BIG change as it could eliminate marketplaces (maybe even exchanges and hacks/scams) and even more importantly speeds up process as you go from 3 to 1 actions.
(wallet transfer coins to marketplace -> marketplace buy with coins -> trade to person -> exchange rest coins back to wallet becomes Wallet with marketplace integration -> trade to person directly from wallet)
3; easy interaction; we will be able to interact with eachother based upon our nicknames instead of the (long) address that we have right now.

Maybe my view is too optimistic but I really do see the potential!!;D Grin Grin

To support they are really delivering, the wallet shows that this coin works as a real IT project / dev team (agile method). They first created a " good" wallet which needed some polishing, so they asked feedback from their customers (the community (mainly Wulfcastle if i'm correct) and changed / tweaked it based upon input. Besides this, every request made in this topic is picked up / discussed really seriously when the intention is seriously of course. My point is, they are not only programming / developing but also looking / thinking what we want and changing the interface so it can be used in reallife. Many coins do have great idea's but are only thinking from their own perspective (like Microsoft does) when for example Apple is really good at looking at demands and delivering what is asked.  Wink Again please correct me if i'm wrong or too optimistic  Cool
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | - HARD FORK MANDATORY UPDATE - | POW in 2 days on: June 08, 2014, 09:46:21 AM
Damn it, I sold 15K of Silk for cheap about 3 days ago.... hmmm wasn't one of my brightest idea's  Shocked

Anyway currently the hype in Cryptoland is for sure Anon; Darkcoin, XC, Vericoin, etc

I do see why they are "gaining"  interest but why invest a lot of "dev's"  effort into something that can be a simple "add-on" to a coin. I mean to say, there are several solutions which all still have issue's and are not flawless, in my opinion all the solution are overdoing it and solving a question that does not really exist (maybe I misunderstand it all). When I want to be Anon, why I don't just create a new wallet address and put my coins there? Who would be able to find out to which wallet address the coins belong, when I have more than 10 addresses nobody can see who I am and how much coins I really have..... or am I not getting it?

This all changes when we  start to use the Eco-system, if I understand that correctly. We will all have a nickname which allows us to simply transfer coins from one and another using our nicknames. So when I borrow money I can simply ask their nickname and transfer to that address instead to the long address that is generated normally. THEN the Anon feature will nice to have, but it should simply be an addition to the wallet. So my family / friends won't be able to find out how much money I have, however why invest so much effort into something that is currently created as an opensource add-on to the protocol?

This is just how I see it, hopefully I am not talking crap here and do have some understanding of it all....?

Will there be a way to send anonymously (Verisend) via SMS?
http://www.reddit.com/r/vericoin/comments/27bwxt/vericoin_sms_wallet_in_testing/
- pnoskerVericoin Co-Creator
Well I can generally say how it works: We interface with a TXT api service. In our case we're using Nexmo. We have a software layer that can both send and receive text messages using Nexmo's API. We interface using RPC with the VeriCoin wallet. We have secret sauce that does the translation and databasing. We will inevitably have some sort of fee, probably around $0.01 per message to pay the SMS costs as well as the txfee. For now, I'll cover it with some donation money.

SMS is very insecure. With GSM Interceptor device I can intercept any message in my radius and/or mimic any phone # to send a message.

I completely agree. But it's the best some people can have (those with dumbphones and no computer for example). It's not designed to be a highly secure wallet.
[/b]

Hmmm that last comment can be negative as positive.... easy to use to less security.....

It sounds like if someone wanted to send anonymously when on the go, they should send to a one time address via SMS and then use Verisend to send to their main address.
Looks like the SMS wallet will work as a "simple" method of using coins with you do not have a fancy phone / computer.

My main concern is, it is a good feature for a specific group, however how to use this in the real world. Have you ever tried using a Nokia, Iphone or Android to type over your wallet address....?

For people who have no other way of using crypto, it won't seem like such a big deal to enter the key. The point is that it is available to use which means much broader reach to unbanked peoples of the world of which there are billions. People who have smart phones aren't the target audience of such a technology.
Yes that sounds correct, however HOW to get involved into crypto's when you do not own a pc? Are they all going to keep their coins on their phone?
So I do think it's a good innovation, I just don't think it will benefit many people, when you look at:
- Why would people who are not into technical stuff (computers / smartphones) suddenly buy VeriCoins using a text message?
- How would they be able to store " large"  amounts, on their phone unencrypted?
- Where to even use the coins in real life?
- Can you backup the coins, what if your phone crashes?

Don't get me wrong, I think every step forward for crypto's is good but seems this piece of software will be used when crypto's are there for the masses. Right now are a still in the adoption phase for many of us, when I try to explain my mom she will have money on here phone she is afraid to lose her phone / break it.

Why don't we reduce block reward to 1000?

First PoW was 10000 blocks / 30 million coins (5000 block reward)

Second Pow is 10000 blocks, 1000 Block reward. That means 30 million / (5000/1000) = 6 Million extra coins.

@ 1000 Satoshis, that means 60BTC of volume....
LOL @ 1000 Satoshis Wink  I did notice the price dropped @ Poloniex but have you seen how less coins there are to buy?

With "only" 2,5 BTC you could have the price at 2000 Sat, so it seems only logical to me the price will go higher!

I have also been playing with your idea CDG1941 that we as a community from NobleCoin should be able to do more.

My first idea was that we create a set of Best Practices (small guide) that you as a "consumer" can use to quickly check if a coin is trustworthy or not. This is for new comers to the crypto world or people going to invest who do not have so much experience. We could write about things as;
- where to buy coins;
- how to trade;
- how to easily spot scam coins;

I thought this was a better approach, as we do not instruct dev's / coinowners but we inform investors / newcomers. Guess this will give us less criticism and we can always enrich it with time.

Besides this I really do think that Rofo should be marketing his PDF/idea's more. For example he could release a part of his PDF that will trigger a discussion and do that every week.... Maybe we are doing this on a small scale (but not with really important / sensitive subjects) and we should be posting it on Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, here etc!

The mean idea is to trigger / irritate people so they respond, you won't be pointing/blaming certain coins but simply giving your vision about certain "algo's / mining / etc" and we could ask for a reaction...

Could anyone provide a quick summary of what's special about this coin - what sets it apart from others (I notice it's pretty stable in its ascent, for one thing, but I'm talking coin tech specs and development plans).

Q

Thanks, but is there a short summary of what distinguishes the coin? A specific post in this thread perhaps?

Did you read the OP?

I would say the biggest thing is the "eco-system" read the OP to learn more about it.
For me personally, the whole professional feel of the website / wallet and the informational video showed that the Dev's behind this coin are great.

The thing that made it a nobrainer to invest, was the fact they came up with the Eco-System. It shows that the Dev's aren't simply programmers but also thinking innovative and here for the longrun!
