Budget brands? It's a pretty expensive beer out here. And pretty good, though all those yeasts in weizens are not for every stomach.

Okay, well. It's still better than normal beer. If you buy it in the UK it costs £1.99 (2.42€/Tesco). True. It might be similar in other countries - and usually it's the only "Weizen" that ever gets sold anywhere else. That's triple the price that it's sold for in Germany. Here one of them is around 0,80€.

But you misunderstood what I said anyway. I said that there are budget brands that taste the same - not that this is a budget brand. There are some that cost only 0.40€ in Germany that taste better than/the same as Erdinger to me.

I like this one, too:

Yes, sorry for not stating it: These are no images. I designed purely with BBCode.

These signatures could look a lot better. They are a bit too wide and usually don't do the best job at representing the websites.

Here are a screenshot of a few designs I made. Mostly examples, for example for http://pokerking.com (wasn't commissioned, just picked a random page).

Edit: No IMAGES - this is pure BBCode.

What do you guys think?

Max. Größe ist ~400 px x 46 px. (Grund: Die XXL signaturen sind einfach *'super f*****g annoying' - staff zitat)

Also, sauber und hübsch!

*alle getestet/benutzt kein "IMG" tag.

Sieht gut aus. Respekt.

Danke! Schöne Grüße nach Singapur. (Zufällig gelesen. Die wärme klingt bei dem kalten Wetter heute.)

Sorry for the off topic post. Couldn't stop myself.  Roll Eyes

You can imagine than charging only 5$ for a logo is a no go.
A professional logo is something that takes time because one haves to study the company and be able to represent the whole company in a simple image. Usually my work goes around 80$ can go a little lower can go a little higher and that's for small businesses or start ups.
Sometimes a logo can be done in an hour or less if the concept is clear, but it took me years to be able to do it quickly.

what you are asking is just insulting.

To say it in your own words:

Can you imagine that charging only 5$ 80$ for a logo is a no go?
A professional logo is something that takes time because one has to study the company and be able to represent the whole company in a simple image. Usually work like that goes for far over 80$. 2-300$ is a minimum for small businesses.

Offering logos for 80$ is insulting. Don't undersell yourself. This is the main piece of design for a company. It is a crucial par of their business and should be treated as such. They will represent themselves with it for many years. Print it on products, put it on the website, their app logo, business cards and letterheads and make money/are successful partly because of having a nice logo. They reuse it again, again and again. If you sell logos for 80$ and think that's a fair price then you're scamming yourself. You can charge more than that for business cards.

Better stop designing logos and do only other stuff, if you don't find clients that appreciate your work. If you are a student and want to build up your portfolio, fine, you could even do it for a 5er. But otherwise, no. A design process includes more than 20 min on photoshop (actually: Logos should NEVER be designed in photoshop): Design brief, discussion, research, sketches/concepts, mockups, reflection, presentation. And these are not even the full costs that come up. Add health insurance, software licenses, your hardware, workplace etc. You can charge 80$ if you still live with Mom, or in India/Philippines.

But yeah, sure you can get one for 5$ . “If you pay peanuts you get monkeys”.

Ahoj, I know a skilled czech graphic designer who I'd like to introduce to bitcoin. If anyone needs anything designed (even if it's just a business card, or a poster), let me know and I'll connect you and make her sign up on Bitcointalk.

Great offer, how many do you have left? I always wanted some to build my own ship and do a trip around the world. Plastiki II.

Try selling light bulbs.  Now that they are banned in the us you should get a decent markup.
Is this a joke or?

Could be: Depends if you believe fox/cnn/msnbc/news station here/congress/etc.

http://money.cnn.com/2013/12/13/news/economy/light-bulb-ban/

I think they are pretty much banned/being phased-out in most developed countries. If that's strange to you then you
must be from central africa/pakistan/etc?

56  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you make friends after college? on: January 22, 2014, 06:43:36 PM
I absolutely suck at making friends. I'm really bad at pretending and hate most people. So I guess we are in the same boat. I'm still learning how to fake interest in other people and everything. I'm reading the book 'How to make friends and influence people', which is packed with obvious things that I need to hear again and again. Another thing that really hurts meeting new people is the fact that I have a girlfriend. So - if you go somewhere, always go alone.

It's really difficult to make friends usually, because I feel most guys are just interested in girls. And most girls think that you hit on them and don't respond. Haha. Most of my friends are female, because making male friends seems to be almost impossible for me.

Saw a presentation once by a designer who said 'give your business card to 3 people per day'. And he really follows that.

You should probably go to meetups on meetups.com or a similar site. There are many groups you can join - kind of like a university club. There are even three different Bitcoin meetup.com groups in my city. Really is something for every taste. If you are not from a major city I guess it's pretty hard. Just go to events that interest you and introduce yourself.

I'm amazed by the auto-pay bot. Great work, Bitmixer.
58  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Hypebeast.com now accepting bitcoin :) on: January 21, 2014, 11:21:43 AM
Yeah, that's cool. They have some pretty good stuff.

Not really sure if they can sell a lot in BTC, because their usual customers don't seem like the normal BTC crowd. All they are missing is more promotion for the BTC thing, then I'm sure they can attract more customers. Isn't this the first store that sells really high quality clothes for Bitcoin (aside from Overstock?)?

60  Economy / Services / Re: 3.75 BTC Reward For Finding this scammer... on: January 21, 2014, 09:07:56 AM
yep i know its a shot in the dark...have no clue if this is even possible, but with my luck i doubt it...but worth a shot..So anyone with the know how to do it I'll give you half the btc scammed from me if you can find him and recover the money. Thxs Smiley

^this was missing. Thought I should make that clear. Otherwise someone may think that they get the money if they tracked him down. It's one thing to track someone down, but another to get the money back.

Anyway, good luck!
