41  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Canaan Avalon A1466: Bridging Efficiency and Power in Modern Crypto Mining. on: September 18, 2023, 09:26:53 AM
If ASIC manufacturer Canaan has problems with equipment supplies, then ASICs from Bitmain Antminer S21 will sell well, and these ASICs have a very good energy efficiency indicator. Does Canaan have problems producing new chips for these ASICs?

I belive Bitmain and Canaan has the same chip producer TSMC
Can someone confirm that?

I really like this quiet ASIC for a house or apartment, but I really don’t like the fact that its profit on free electricity is $3.63 per day, and its price is 3000 dollars, and in Europe these ASICs cost in the range of 3100-4000 dollars, but there they are very expensive electricity.
I don't know why this ASIC is so expensive?

The built quality on these seems premium , even probably the parts doesnt cost anything.
Packaging 10/10
I think my desktop is much noisier then the miner itself.
But yes ofcourse as in profit terms , seem way to long payback.
I think its price tag is so high as its the most efficient curently in terms of watt per mhs.
I thought that miners buy ASICs to make a profit from it Smiley maybe this ASIC is the most energy efficient, but its price is very high now. For 3000 dollars it is better to find a profitable ASIC for Bitcoin. This is a completely strange price offer from the manufacturer; it’s better to go all out with the Kaspa ASIC.
You might be saying same thing about KASPA miners in couple of month.
Only if you have crystal ball can tell you which ASIC would be the best choice.

43  Bitcoin / Mining / Canaan Avalon A1466: Bridging Efficiency and Power in Modern Crypto Mining. on: September 15, 2023, 11:30:44 AM
Some exciting updates for crypto enthusiasts and miners. Canaan has finally unveiled the much-anticipated Avalon 1466 Miner, and we’re here to break it down for you.

🚀 The Big Reveal
🚀 For the past few weeks, there’s been a buzz on Twitter as Canaan teased us with this new release. Today, we have the full specs, price points, and even the shipping window details. So, let’s dive into what makes this release so special.

📊 Specifications & Price 📊 The Canaan Avalon 1466 comes with two models:

1.Air Cooled Model (A1466):
-Hashrate: 150 terahash
-Efficiency: 21.5 joules/terahash
-Price: Approximately $2,100
It’s worth noting that its specs align closely with BitMain’s new S19J XP. The real game-changer? The Avalon’s price. At around $2,100, it’s a steal, especially when compared to the S19JXP which is hovering around $5,000.

2.Liquid Cooled Model:
-Hashrate: 170 terahash
-Efficiency: 19.5 joules/terahash
-Price: Calculated at 18.88$/terahash
What stands out here is the price point of the air-cooled model. It’s tantalizingly low, making it an appealing choice for many.

Shipping Window Dilemma ⏳ But there’s a catch – the shipping window. The Avalon 1466 won’t be available for delivery until somewhere between Q1 to Q2 of 2024. That’s after the Bitcoin halving, which might be a deal breaker for some.

📉 Performance Analysis 📉 We tried to ballpark its performance against current BTC prices and market conditions. If we were to have the Avalon 1466 today, based on calculations at a 10-cent kilowatt-hour, its profitability might be around $1.70 per day. However, post-halving, these numbers change drastically.

🔍 Comparing with Older Models 🔍 Comparatively, Canaan’s previous flagship, the A1366, isn’t too far behind in specs, suggesting that technological advancements in mining hardware might be plateauing. This could be good news for those who invested in previous models, as their hardware might remain relevant for longer than expected.

Comparison Table
Specification/Model   Antminer S21 (Rumored)   Antminer S19 Pro   Zeely K-10 Ultra     Canaan Avalon 1466

Power Consumption            3,000 Watts                    3,250 Watts            4,000 Watts            3300 Watts
Efficiency                            15-19 J/TH                      29.5 J/TH                    20 J/TH                   19.5-21.5 J/TH
Cooling                             Air Cooling                   Air Cooled                    Air Cooled           Air and Liquid Cooled

Detailed Comparison:

Hashrate:
Antminer S21 matches the Zeely K-10 Ultra with a 200 TH/s mining power, nearly double the S19 Pro and significantly higher than the Avalon 1466.
Power Consumption:
Antminer S21 and Zeely K-10 Ultra both offer superior hashrate, but the S21 is more energy efficient, rumored consuming 1,000 Watts less than the K-10 Ultra. When compared to its predecessor, the S19 Pro, the S21 consumes less power while providing significantly higher hashrate.
Efficiency:

Antminer S21 sets a new benchmark with a groundbreaking 15-19 J/TH. This is a significant improvement over the S19 Pro and superior to both the Zeely K-10 Ultra and the Avalon 1466.
🔮 Future Predictions 🔮 While the Avalon 1466’s shipping date is a downside, the unveiling gives us a unique foresight into the future of crypto mining. It helps us evaluate the relevance and potential price points of current models.

📣 Final Thoughts 📣 While the Canaan Avalon 1466 promises efficiency at a competitive price, the shipping window might be a challenge. We’re also eager to see how this release affects the prices of older models.

Stay tuned, and keep an eye out for updates on the S21 price point, which will give us more clarity on the current mining landscape.

This is not the best energy efficiency on the market, but maybe the company will offer a better price to compete.
Canna is serious underdog contender.
Yes seen this they announced it in their 10 year anniversary conference.
Price tag seem the best one curently for that efficiency of the miner.

I'm betting on ~18.5/TH
Yeah shouldn't be far of that.

you think they will sell this for 18.5 x 210 = $3885 usd

seems too cheap
I mean the watts per TH/s, price will be around 25-30usd per th/s i assume.

Yes, now on the official website of antminer S21, taking into account the discount, it is offered for $5,800(~$27.62 per TH/s) the full cost of $6,300 ($30 per TH/s), with delivery in April 2024. Power efficiency according to their statement is really 15 ± 5% J/TH.

I will feel bad even during the day, because the profit falls every day.

What do you think about buying such an ASIC and starting mining yourself? You open the payment statistics, and the ASIC price will fall every day by 70-90% of the profit. With this condition, you will sell ASICs at a higher price, and the buyer will be convinced that the ASIC works without failures.

You will publish reports on your website and other resources and attract more traffic from other miners.
Have a YouTube channel where used to do these kind of videos. Asic miner market is like gambling, First batches of these miners already paidoff few weeks ago , no idea about he next batches as no crystal ball.
Same would say when it was released back in June rereleased.

51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Connecting the IceRiver ASIC Miner to HiveOS: A Comprehensive Guide on: September 06, 2023, 09:17:13 AM
For those looking to connect their IceRiver ASIC miners to HiveOS, it’s an efficient way to consolidate your mining management and keep everything under one roof. Hiveon OS Client, with its capability to support a diverse range of ASIC models, makes it a must-have for serious miners. This guide will walk you through the process step by step, making it easier than ever to set up.

Prerequisites:

An IceRiver ASIC miner.
Active internet connection.
A computer to manage the setup.
Steps:

1.HiveOS Account Creation:
Begin by creating a HiveOS account if you haven’t already. Go to Hiveon OS and follow the sign-up process. This account will be your central hub for managing all your mining activities.
2.Download HiveOS ASIC Hub:
Once registered, you’ll need the HiveOS ASIC hub software. It’s the key bridge between your ASIC miner and your HiveOS account. Navigate to the download section on Hiveon and download the latest version of ASIC Hub suitable for your operating system.
3.Linking ASIC Miner with HiveOS:
  • After successfully installing the ASIC Hub, open it. Here, you will be prompted to insert your ‘Farm Hash’ from your HiveOS account.
  • You need to update the ASIC Hub to latest BETA version , otherwise curently 04.09.23 your Iceriver ASIC miner will not show up.
    • Navigate back to your HiveOS dashboard. Under ‘Settings’ or ‘Farm Settings’, locate your Farm Hash. Copy this hash.
    • Return to the ASIC Hub and paste the Farm Hash into the provided field. This step links your ASIC miner to your HiveOS account, effectively allowing HiveOS to manage and control it
4.Setting up Flight Sheet for KASPA:
    • Flight sheets in HiveOS are configurations that your miner will follow.
    • Navigate to the ‘Flight Sheets’ section in HiveOS.
      • From the dropdown menus:
      • Select KASPA as your coin.
        • Add your KASPA wallet address.
        • Choose your preferred mining pool.
          • Select the type of miner, in this case, choose “ASIC MINER”.
          • Once all details are filled out, save or create the flight sheet.
5.Applying the Flight Sheet to the ASIC Miner:
        • On your HiveOS dashboard, locate the newly added IceRiver miner.
        • Click on the miner to view its details.
          • Locate and click on the ‘FlightSheet’ button. From the list of available flight sheets, choose the one you created for KASPA.
          • Applying this flight sheet will overwrite the existing configuration on the IceRiver miner, and the miner will start functioning based on the configurations you’ve set in HiveOS.

        6.Monitor Your Miner:
        • IceRiver miners typically take a short while, about 5-10 minutes, to reflect the hashrate in the pool after any new configurations are set.
        • During this period, it’s advised to be patient and refrain from making any further changes.
          • Once the hashrate starts showing, you can monitor its performance, efficiency, and rewards directly from your HiveOS dashboard.

          Final Thoughts:

ASIC Hub is a powerful application that provides miners the capability to manage and monitor their ASIC miners seamlessly. Do remember, however, that while ASIC Hub manages your miners, it doesn’t manage your local network. Hence, when launching the Hub for the first time, specify the range or ranges of IP addresses that you wish to manage.

With the combination of HiveOS and ASIC Hub, your mining operations can be more streamlined, efficient, and manageable from anywhere.

Ice river biggest concurrent Bitmain Antminer KS3 asic miner support currently still not added to hiveos ASIC hub.

Gives me flash backs to when Bitmain released the Antminer X3 for XMR for 20,000 USD.

Once the XMR community found out they changed the algo right away and bitmain had to start giving "bonus units" to the original people that got the X3 to compensate them. Eventually, all the coins that used cryptonight had a hard fork and these things were useless for years until Dynex was cryptonight for a month and they were extremely profitable.

as the story continues there were then many variants of cryptonight that were made like CnV2, V3 ect....there was always a rumor that the X3 was also customizable and programable (almost like a cryptonight FPGA) certain people figured out how to make it also mine the variants. this rumor was never confirmed but eventually the devs released RandomX which was originally pioneered by pascal coin with them creating RandomHash algo.

here's my guess:
This is going to be a highly customizable CPU miner that will be able to account for XMR devs doing any form of algo changing. Kinda like how the X3 was rumored to be able to do this.

Anyone else remember the Antmner X3 release fiasco??
Yes remember that , biggest risk of buying is actually buying an ASIC miner . no other purpose just hope.

The K-10 Ultra miners old version been said in conference are priced 25usd per ths , the new version 200mhs @4000w is priced 30usd per ths.
Keep in mind the prices will change depending on market conditions as these machines manufacturing cost are dirt cheap.
If profit increases they will charge lot more for TH/s
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Unraveling the Bitmain Antminer X5: A Deep Dive into the New Monero Mine on: September 01, 2023, 10:34:49 AM

The Profitability Perspective
At the time of writing, Monero’s price stands at $145.15, a stark contrast from its all-time high of $517.62 two years ago. Given these figures and the X5’s specifications of 212 kilohashes at 1,350 Watts, its current daily profitability hovers around $6-7usd before accounting for electricity costs.

Profitability could skyrocking? Not really the price hits in the last 2 bullruns only around 500 dollars, but the difficulty increased in the same time.
Now thanks to bitmain, more people have an eye on Monero and this "Asics" make it easier for big farms to dive in Monero mining. And i don´t know why people say they don´t care about this miner, i mean i described it, it is now easier to get into monero mining and the hashrate will go up huge.

The efficency is so bad, some cpu´s are more efficent. So it´s interesting to see what happens and if this miner can mine other CPU algos.
The community's sentiment towards these developments will be crucial in determining Monero's future direction.

58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Unraveling the Bitmain Antminer X5: A Deep Dive into the New Monero Mine on: August 31, 2023, 05:24:56 PM
Cryptocurrency mining has always been a dynamic industry. With advancements in technology and the constant evolution of cryptocurrencies, the mining landscape has seen its fair share of changes. Today, we’re going to dissect Bitmain’s latest offering to the mining community, the Antminer X5.

Bitmain’s Mysterious Choice: The Antminer X5
When you think of Bitmain, the picture that comes to mind is a lineup of powerful ASIC miners optimized for various cryptocurrencies. However, with the announcement of the Antminer X5, eyebrows were raised. This machine is branded as a Monero (XMR) miner. But why?

Monero’s history with mining is well-documented. The cryptocurrency has constantly evolved its mining algorithm to resist ASICs, ensuring a level playing field for all miners. This commitment to ASIC resistance is one of the reasons why many have been intrigued by Bitmain’s decision to release an XMR miner. If the Antminer X5 is a true ASIC miner, Monero’s developers might opt for another algorithm fork to negate its advantages. However, there’s an alternate theory that’s equally intriguing.

Is the Antminer X5 a CPU Miner?
Here’s where the plot thickens. The crypto community is buzzing with speculation about the real nature of the X5. While Bitmain hasn’t explicitly detailed the internals of the X5, the notion that it might be some form of CPU miner has gained traction.

There are good reasons behind this line of thought. For one, Bitmain announced that the Antminer X5 is capable of mining multiple cryptocurrencies. While there are several cryptocurrencies on Monero’s RandomX algorithm, a CPU miner could technically mine hundreds of cryptocurrencies.

If it’s true, the implications are significant. It would mean the Antminer X5 can continue mining profitably even if Monero goes ahead with a fork. On the other hand, other CPU-mined cryptocurrencies might find their profitability threatened by an influx of X5 miners.

However, these numbers are based on Monero’s current value. If the market sees another bull run, the profitability of the Antminer X5 could skyrocket, making it a potential goldmine for early adopters.

Checkout latest XMR mining profitability.

The Final Verdict
With the official release of the Antminer X5 just around the corner, many questions remain. The nature of its mining capabilities and the reaction of the Monero community will shape the miner’s destiny.

In the fast-paced world of cryptocurrency, one thing is certain – change is the only constant. Whether the Antminer X5 becomes a game-changer or fades into obscurity will be a story worth watching.

For now, all eyes are on Bitmain and the upcoming launch of their new miner. Whatever the outcome, it’s bound to shake up the world of cryptocurrency mining.

In the top 7 profitable ASICs there is not a single bitcoin ASIC!
https://www.asicminervalue.com/

These are the closest competitors,
Bitmain Antminer S19 XP Hyd (255Th) 5350W
MicroBT Whatsminer M53S (260Th/s)  6760W
but if a new ASIC (400Th/s) 6000W appears, it will change the mining market.
Only they need to hurry to start selling at the end of September, because halving is coming soon.
You are right  , most depends @ what price per TH/s will it be launched . Hydro miners has some slight additional cost as a radiator. There is no air cooled miner which can reach that performance released yet.
I really don't care about the profitability, the most i care fastest ROI Smiley
For some people with free power it would be something like S19-90ths which is only 7-8usd pet ths.
S21 will be at least 20-30usd per ths.
